181  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what sort of features would you want in a trading bot? on: March 31, 2024, 03:27:56 PM
Just asking because I have been developing my trading bot for awhile, I have been successful with it but I'm hoping to learn what you guys are looking for so I will be able to plan what I can do to improve mine and convince you to use it as well.
I am not into programming and building of bots but I have an idea of how it may work. I understand that a trading strategy has to be programmed into the bot, and that is the strategy it will follow. Bots are not capable of developing their own strategies.

If it is possible to have the kind of feature on a bot where it can give a notification when a strategy is becoming less effective, that will be good.
182  Other / Off-topic / Re: Noticing sign of gambling addiction before it gets worst on: March 31, 2024, 01:49:44 PM
Frequently gambling is one of the most common reasons why a player gets addicted. So I'm thinking before you become involved in frequent gambling behaviour what is the sign that you notice that you are doing when you gamble?
When you start noticing that you are having a view on gambling as an escape from every physical and emotional stress or gambling becoming the only thing that gives you joy, you will find yourself gambling often. When you gamble more often, there becomes a higher chance for you to become addicted.

A precaution is not to allow gambling become the reliever for every physical or emotional stress that you face.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Report: ExxonMobil Running Pilot Project to Supply Flared Gas for Bitcoin Mining on: March 30, 2024, 11:59:08 PM
From Fillippone's post

Exxon started with a few tests in North Dakota in partnership with Crusoe Energy (Winklevii have invested in it), but they are now expanding to Alaska, Nigeria, Argentina, Guyabbaa and Germany.
There is still gas flaring ongoing in Nigeria even though it was something that we heard will stop since like 2020, so maybe ExxonMobil were not able to make any progress with it.

I also saw from some websites that they are considering expanding the project to these nations. Maybe they didn't go on with the project after analyzing the business. I have some contacts who reside close to the Exon Mobil Qua Iboe Terminal in Nigeria and they have confirmed that such a project is non-existent. Any project that could help recycle waste or pollutants will be highly appreciated because it will reduce the negative impact, and create jobs and revenue sources.
In communities that are close to these flaring, the health implications are terrible for people leaving there. If there is proper concern about the health of the people there, and also concern for global warming, these projects aimed at stopping flaring will be hastened.

ExxonMobil is a multi-billion-dollar business that can afford the cost of experimenting, buying the necessary equipment and hiring the best manpower to make the project successful. In the case of Nigerian government policy might have affected the project because the government in power in 2022 was unfriendly with Bitcoin. Or maybe they are still in the development process.
This is a quote from something recent, but I am not sure that ExxonMobil are behind it.

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission has said plans are underway to end gas flaring in 2030.

184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Dreams of a Bitcoin Circular Economy in my Country on: March 30, 2024, 11:44:30 PM
I dream of  day in my country where I can earn in bitcoin and spend in bitcoin.
That day may come sooner than we expect because there may be some things that may happen that will facilitate and hasten massive acceptance and increase adoption.

In your country @OP bitcoins are very popular and getting more popular, adoption for use in commercial transactions will not take as much time as it would in a country where even the citizens do not yet know about bitcoins.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 29, 2024, 08:48:20 PM
Settling up after the international break is always a problem for me and Pep and other managers mind games isn't helping too. So many false injury News here and there.
Kyle Walker is out for sure, Gabriel Magalhaes is still in doubt, Saka also still in doubt, Martinelli is still in doubt, Manuel Akanji is out, John Stones is out.

Son will be the best choice for captaincy, Tottenham against Luton is looking like a goal Fest in which Son will have some major contribution. Luton have the worst defense, Tottenham can score many goals.
186  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Two Kucoin Founders accused of violating anti-laundering laws etc. on: March 29, 2024, 02:01:52 PM
With concerns now, will the Kucoin exchange collapse?
Big exchanges usually have a very strong legal team that are prepared for issues like this, so it will take a very big case to really crash an exchange. As someone using an exchange, there is always an uncertainty, it is due to this uncertainty still that we advise to never keep an amount of money you cannot afford to loose on any exchange.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been kicked out of a casino? on: March 29, 2024, 01:09:42 PM
We always hear about a gambler who has been harassed, expelled, or banned from a casino for a number of justified or unjustified reasons.
The customers that casinos receive are what makes their business keep going, so they would likely not harass, embarrass, expel or ban any member from using their casino if that person has not defaulted on some of their rules or terms and conditions. For this reason it is important to always familiarize yourself with the rules & regulations, also the terms and conditions guiding every casino whether online or land based before you decide to keep playing there to avoid being embarrassed for reasons that you do not know.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Report: ExxonMobil Running Pilot Project to Supply Flared Gas for Bitcoin Mining on: March 29, 2024, 12:09:41 PM
I tried to make some research to see the progress they have been able to make, there is no recent report on it.
If we read this post from @fillippone, it seems that ExxonMobil has expanded such a mining method outside the US. I don't know how successful it was and whether it's still there, but I have no doubt that those who advocate the idea that Bitcoin pollutes the environment will also find something negative in that.

189  Economy / Economics / Re: Church Business on: March 28, 2024, 08:44:19 PM
Guys let discuss what do you think about this, are these pastor's really being called or they are just looking for a way out of economic hardship
Because of how religion has been followed blindly by some especially in Africa, people are being exploited by some men and women who claim to be called by God to be pastors.

There are a few legitimate pastors that were really called by God, but their number cannot be compared to the many who called themselves into it because they realized that they can make easy money from extorting their members.

My advice to every Christian is to make sure they always have a personal relationship with God first, before their pastors. If you really know God, you will not be among the many people who can easily be brainwashed by someone who calls themselves a pastor.
190  Economy / Economics / Re: Agent of Economic stimulant on: March 28, 2024, 08:26:50 PM
So this lead me to be thinking about the word economy and what and what is actually responsible for an economy to grow and what are the economic stimulant
If there can be a massive investment by the government into the work force of the country, set up and improve and upgrade facilities that already exist for production, and create incentives to encourage healthy competition to improve productivity, the economy of the country will improve quickly.

With improved productivity a country will have enough commodity to avoid importation, there will also be enough commodity to ensure that the prices do not soar from scarcity, and then also have enough commodity to also sell to other countries who are in need of them.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How about your experience in taking part in the same bet with friends? on: March 28, 2024, 11:46:05 AM
Is there less human pressure if gambling is conducted in the same place with friends?
It depends on the kind of friends,
If they are good friends that are not in any competition with you, you will not feel bad if you loose and they win, there will be no pressure. They will cheer you up.
If they are bad friends, they will criticize you if you loose and they win, they may make you get depressed.
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 10:17:51 AM
Does gambling excites you?
It is an activity for fun, so it should be exciting.

The excitement that comes from gambling should be put under control, else you become the gambler who is unable to control themselves because of always craving for this excitement always.

Over excitement is also dangerous while gambling because it puts you at a position to make wrong decisions and game analysis because you are too unstable to think straight due to excitement.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: Worldcup qualifiers - CAF. on: March 27, 2024, 09:04:11 PM
I will first have to ask if the Nigerian match against Mali last night was a friendly match or a qualifier. I didn't view the match but I read the commentary and went through the statistics. Something was so strange. Although Nigeria lost but the Nigerian players have individual good rating more than the Mali players. This gave me the impression that Nigeria dominated the match.
It was just a friendly game luckily for us, so the loss will not cost us anything only prestige. If Nigerian players still had a good rating even though they lost, it can be interpreted that their performance was not all bad, and lost the game because of mistakes.

But if I am NFF (employer), the coach that took the team to the finals of the AFCON did well and should be retained. I don't know for others shaa.
Are we still talking about this? Poseiro had a deal with NFF, and he was not able to meet up with the target, this is why NFF are making another deal with another, with another target set. I do not hate the idea of a local coach.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International break's in football. on: March 27, 2024, 06:39:06 PM
Another interesting question is this, as a father would you force it on your child to also fan the same club you're a fan to, or you will allow him be himself to fan any club of his choice even if it's your most rival club of all times.
What if your child is not interested in sports at all, or interested in a different sport asides the one you are interested in? you cannot make sure your preferences are your child's preferences too, that is wrong upbringing. Expose children to various choices, so they make the choices that their hearts incline to.

It can be a very boring for a father who love sports to have none of his children interested in the same sport as his, but that is a reality you have to face.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The power of HODLing BTC on: March 27, 2024, 02:56:04 PM
So I bring this for some folks to actually share atleast boost our spirits in the HODL journey especially those newbie to the space, that if someone out there is still HODLing why not HODL?.
A more dedicated hodler can benefit more from bitcoins than an inconsistent trader or even a miner. The challenge to keeping your Bitcoin is avoiding temptation to want to use them and always this temptation are not always things that are not important, they may also be things that are important.

To this legendary hodler who has set a good example, I am certain that he was also tempted to tamper with their bitcoins at some point while they were hodling. This hodler is a living example of discipline.

196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold? on: March 27, 2024, 01:51:43 PM
  • Do you think BTC has become more attractive than gold in the investment sector?
Bitcoin has become more attractive to the young who are seeking to have some kind of investments, but not very attractive to many of the older generation  to whom bitcoin is still new. If the option between been gifted gold or gifted bitcoin is thrown to a young person, without demanding to know the quantity, many young people will choose bitcoins because it will be easier for them to keep safe as they are more friendly with technology.
  • Have people like Peter Schiff accumulated a lot of BTC while still badmouthing BTC in the media?
It is not impossible. Even if he has not yet accumulated bitcoins now while badmouthing BTC, his opinions may change tomorrow and he will never come out again to say that he has started accumulating bitcoins.

198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Becomes of Gambling if Sport book is taken away. on: March 25, 2024, 02:59:35 PM
Just as the title stated, what do you think will becomes of gambling enirly if we wake up one morning to the news of global banning of football,  or a country ban it citizens from participating in football both as a game and also a sport.
There will always be alternatives.

It is a certainty, that the news will surely discourage some gamblers, but I believe that a larger number of gamblers in this category will seek alternatives, other games that they can gamble on.

Gambling has become a part of some people's life, and unless gambling is entirely stopped, some gamblers will never stop.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: March 25, 2024, 02:56:05 PM
~
You may be physically exhausted, but mentally active. Gambling is not a physical activity, it is more of a mental activity and so it is okay for someone to gamble when they are physically exhausted but mentally still active, but not okay for someone to gamble when they are mentally exhausted and physically active.
200  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop paying money to learn trading when you can learn it yourself on: March 25, 2024, 02:53:03 PM

I didn't come across this topic on time hence my lateness to replying this very interesting topic. I'm going to skip right through whatever any other person has said and just add my opinion because I have often advised people about this sort of situation before.

Paying money for knowledge is never a waste because by the time you spend and commit money to learning something, there is a psychological benefits that you have knowing that you have invested in it hence you must want to see the profit from your investment. Also, if some people do not pay for knowledge, they will never value it.
