so yeah.. the new wallet with i2p built in should be out monday, sometime.

also i have a few new features/updates going in.. all kinds of verge things in the works..  Cool

Looking forward to see how the new wallet works....and kind of wondering how this will affect the concept of anonymity in regard to cryptocurrency transfers.

Maybe it will be like a "currency teleportation transfer"....over here, now over there...with no trace of how it happened in between?

A crypto with a superpower?
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: September 17, 2016, 12:17:23 AM
We already hit 7 sat today, lol.  Where is the burning/crashing plane image?  I tell you the weak hands have little patience...   Cool

I believe that the burning/crashing plane image is on the speculation page, where it belongs.
Glad that it is still there, since we are all entitled to opinions, even though they may differ from our own, mine included.
We should probably post a lot of what we may potentially see here currently, over there also  Smiley

edit: added some words
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: September 03, 2016, 08:01:37 PM
Is the Auroracoin Foundation aware that the hosting has expired at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/?? Roll Eyes

Some team members have been covering the cost of the this explorer for a little while now, but we have 3 additional AUR explorers that are available for use for free(listed in the OP).  If it were up to me, I would say we stop paying for it and let the community decide if they want to pay, but I know I usually take a more aggressive stance on matters like these.

-Fuse

Kind of a tough call for me.
I have covered it before since I liked the clean look, and they have always been prompt with replies and updating information.
All in all a very decent, responsive service, but four explorers may be redundant at this time.
They do make it easy though for anybody to contribute to it's expense to operate.
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - New NeoScrypt Algorithm on: September 03, 2016, 07:48:49 PM
Thanks,
It is good to see that we are still checking in here and keeping information updated.

The block explorer has been updated to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gun/ on the opening post here.

I'll pay for an updated block explorer and keep it paid as long as there is development. That can be my part. Just get me the info on whoever you want to use.

Just get it set up and send us the link - Thanks!

New Block Explorer

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gun/

Paid for 1 year.

Remember this? Page has never been changed.

I do, and use it quite often to look at the state of what is happening with GUN.

The prepayment for those services was a nice donation for GUN users to have that information available.

The OP of this thread needs to be updated, so that it is more readily accessible to those who don't know about this.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: August 15, 2016, 05:32:30 AM
The document showed 639,159.97 AUR

ok, wow. Quite a bit.

maybe we can scoop up some cheap coins when they are given back to users.

That someday, or maybe at least see AUR distributed further.

It will be interesting to see where this goes.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: August 14, 2016, 11:49:05 AM
The document showed 639,159.97 AUR

I had no idea that Cryptsy had that much AUR not returned to users.

edit: looks like it is in the #1 address, regarding amount.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MZC][SHA-256] MAZACOIN *First Sovereign Currency* ANDROID WALLET AVAIL.!! on: August 01, 2016, 07:35:02 AM
Everywhere I go, people are talking about Maza, yet this thread is filled with spider webs and tumbleweeds...has discussion moved to a different location?

I don't post much, but do come here and look around some.

Seems like the "pause" button was hit, but still expect good things someday.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: July 29, 2016, 07:55:23 PM
Wow it really is....the 3,125 XVG reward halves again at block 714,000.
Then we go from 714,000 to 2,124,000 at 1,560 XVG reward.
That's 1,410,000 blocks.
That's going to take some time guys.  Cool

It seems to me that it will take some time to reach the end of the scheduled block rewards, but not too much.

I did the math a while ago and believe that I came up with the end of the block rewards to be about three or four years out.
Kind of wondering what happens after block 4,248,000 though.
I plan on sticking around to see.

One of the things that attracted me to this currency was that it was stated to be a secure, private and evolving one.

That kind of keeps the door open for XVG to be what it is needed to be at the time, without being "locked" into any certain criteria.

Maybe a new reward system coming at the end, to fit what is needed, then.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XVG] Verge - Speculation & Discussion on: July 27, 2016, 11:01:01 PM
Oh my we really need to get onto Poloniex!!  They now have ETC and it is cray cray, I wish we were able to get in front of more eyes to try and have our price move up a bit....my goodness we NEED TO GET ON THAT EXCHANGE, what can we do besides more emails.  The emails don't seem to be working so does anyone else know what we can do?  If we could get on there and get a sliver, maybe we could have a bump in price, but people need to know what we are doing here with this coin as well as many have never heard of us.  Seems like we the community and Dev have been gone and silent for quite some time.  The excitement for Verge seems to have been lost, we need to pick it back up!!
I Dont think we're gonna get on polo.  I had high hopes for this coin. The dev used to post daily we had a big community always new exciting updates. Now we go days with no posts and nothing very exciting seems to be happening.i had followed it since it was dogecoindark but it just doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

I agree completely.  It looks like this which is sad  Cry  I had very high hopes, I kinda still do just because I own so many and hope this can get going again.  It just doesn't seem like anyone cares much anymore to try and make this coin more visible.  It doesn't appear that the things this coin provides is of any value to the cryptoworld as other shitter coins than this are way higher in value and no one knows why?  Again, sad to see!!   Cry Cry

In the meantime I reached out to the support team at Polo to ask what we can do to get the coin added there and awaiting a response.

I had write this, the coin is dead Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Nobody trust me and everybody hate me and now? Where is the Hype? Where is the big Price up? The DEV told you a shit

"told you a shit" lolz do you post on yahoo finance lololol

Why would anyone hate you, youre hilarious Cheesy

------

When something speaks for itself, there's no need to hype it.

I totally agree in regard to "why anybody would hate QuasiKurdo?"

I always thought his posts were informative from a different angle and very interesting to read.

Funny and entertaining too, for real... Smiley

I will keep my eyes on that, since in general, I believe the more exchanges the better.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - New NeoScrypt Algorithm on: July 27, 2016, 08:05:02 AM
Thought I would share a little mining info.

I needed to reinstall my mining program and ran across this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=712650.0

The nsgminer v0.9.2 increased my hash by 50%. WOOHOO!

Anybody else pointing a GPU at solving some blocks may want to give it a try.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: July 23, 2016, 11:25:19 PM
hey im so frustrated of not being able to get to my coins, when will android wallet be up again so i can get them out?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh its been months

yes, it will be up. its a complicated process. if you think you can get it done faster, you are welcome to.

I know nothing about it so please dont be rude.  i have over 80 mil coins somewhere and i cant get access to it its frustrating,

Is a phone your only way of accessing the internet? Because otherwise, you could just install the desktop wallet on a regular computer, copy the wallet.dat file into it and have access, no?

I have a feeling that the android wallets work differently than the regular ones do.
Maybe see if it is possible to get the private keys, then import those into another wallet?
Or wait longer.
I believe our dev is in for the long haul, but it is probably quite tricky with that wallet, especially once Verge went multi-algo.

Since I am posting something today, I might as well keep going:

Considering the current situation Verge apparently is in, maybe some things to help Verge become more "solid" in the long run could be helpful.

An OPTIONAL "development fee" or "maintenance donation fee" alongside the optional sending fee in the wallets may be interesting to consider, to put toward maintaining equipment for the android wallet, servers, nodes, pay for some help when needed, or whatever it takes to keep Verge going, to make it stronger and more substantial.

Maybe somehow decentralize Verge further by helping others learn how to run nodes, or run dedicated i2p nodes.
(Not exactly sure how that stuff works, but basically spreading out the components that keep the system running)

Possibly tie Verge into i2p somehow, so when that becomes more popular, it is already there....waiting, and willing.

Maybe come up with some specific goals to be voted upon, where one can donate to, and help make happen.
Even little ones might be nice, that show activity in a positive direction.
As an example of this, it was good to see the donations come in quickly when the fee to list on Bittrex took place, which was a positive community effort.

The price can't really get much lower, so now may be the time to shake things up somehow, anyway.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: July 19, 2016, 03:31:42 PM
I am in fact totally new to this thread....

I have XVG coins for a while on Bittrex and would want to have them on a personal wallet.

Could your tell me where to find the up to date desktop wallet and HOW to do to install in my computer?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome.

The OP of this post will have links to the wallet you may want to use (for example: windows vs mac).

You should be able to download, install, and then open them up and let sync for a while (it may take some time for the sync part though).

If you are just trying to just get your coins off of an exchange, you can print a paper wallet and send your coins there. If you do this, and use the Verge paper wallet link, be sure to pick Verge in the drop down menu under the instructions tab, if you go straight to print, it will give you a different wallet.

Others will probably post some more thorough instructions, but these may give you enough to start.

ok, so the OP contains the Up To Date wallet link, thanks... did not want to take a chance.

No, want a desktop wallet, no paper ;-)

BTW, is Verge available for staking?

thanks for the little guidance.

Will see if I can install smoothly

I am pretty sure the links in the OP will be current.

Verge has a very active and accessible developer, which is one of the things that I like seeing in a currency.

Verge is not a staking coin.
It uses Proof of Work, using five different algorithms to help make the blockchain run smoothly and give different options to mine.

The explorer I am not sure about though is http://insight.auroracoin.io/ since I believe that belongs to the AUR

foundation folks and the link goes nowhere?

Now located at http://insight.auroracoin.is/

That makes sense.
I copy/pasted the link.

The link on the OP says "is", but directs one to "io"
Probably needs updating  Smiley

Just chiming in to say thanks for listening in regard to the updated link to the block explorer.

It looks like AUR has a very nice selection of them to chose from.

price is not displayed correctly  https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/

The chainz explorer https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/ is a service rendered for a fee by a company/somebody who

found a nitch in the crytpo world specializing in block explorers.

I have just relayed a message to them about this.

My last requests to them were handled promptly, so my guess is that they will update this in the same manner.

Hi, I started to install the wallet 2.1.0.0 from scratch and I always run into sync-problems i.e. at block 316924 where it gets stuck. I restarted the wallet several times but no sucesss.
Any idea what to do?

try adding connect=37.187.27.4 in your .conf file

Thanks for your reply.
ah maybe that's the reason I have no .conf-file in \AppData\Roaming\VERGE...
what's the conf-filename? And what other parameters should be in that file?

name it VERGE.conf

and that is all you need for a parameter, the connect line

Hi, I created the .conf-file with the parameter and now there is no bar anymore with the downloading/sync-status at the bottom of the wallet.
Any idea why the bar is missing now? Is it still syncing?

I can't give you much tech advice, but can share this:
If the bar is gone, it may be synced already.
You can go to help, click on debug window, and see what your current number of blocks are, check with a block explorer and see if you are current with them.
There is a little check mark to hover over in the lower right corner of the wallet, that may show the info also.

199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: July 08, 2016, 03:27:35 PM
Early Auroracoin price spike was not pump and dump. It was supply and demand. Baldur was the first to do the airdrop distribution method, which seemed like a genius solution to achieving critical mass.

The supply of Auroracoin was severely restricted at the very beginning, and lots of people wanted a piece of the action. Once Airdrop #1 happened coin supply exploded and price dropped accordingly.

I was watching from the beginning, and agree with what Bimmerhead says in regard to AUR, but will include that I believe the "newness" wore off too.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: July 05, 2016, 01:49:12 AM
Not trying to complicate things, but in regard to wallets:

I have not seen coin control in the latest wallet version that I use, maybe it is there, but I just haven't found it?

That seems like a nice option to have if I want to import a paper wallet, since I could then move the coins to another address to "sweep" them.

Example: I import a paper wallets private keys....I get more coins in my wallet....but how do I know that the one who gave me the paper wallet won't use those particular private keys themselves first unless they are moved to another address, and how do I do that without coin control?

Speaking of private keys...
I do not understand why one should need to unlock a wallet in order to import them.
It makes sense prior to sending, but why make it harder to bring coins in?
It feels like my bank, possibly asking for I.D. before a deposit...just take the money!

Maybe these could be options?

A related thought...something to consider may be to add private key importation to the VERGE web wallet?
One might import private keys there without doing the console stuff, then send to a chosen address in their own wallet, or it may also give recipients of XVG paper wallets an easy option to use their coins.

importing privkeys into the web wallet would be a nice feature. i will definitely look into that.  as far as moving coins from an address within a wallet, there is always the sendfrom option, which lets you label the address, and move coins from only that particular address =]
nice knowing that dev continues working harder to make this coin move forward I hope investors will notice this coin and will invest for this coin project have a good future ahead I think right now I will try investing some of my earnings and hold and wait what will happen next. good luck sir and keep it up.

I will try the sendfrom option (exactly what I was looking for), and maybe brush up on my wallet skills since I didn't know that existed.
Something more to learn...fun stuff.

Yes, a hard working dev, with progression and evolving as key words that I remember seeing since the earlier days.

A currency to watch and get involved with.
