181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Convert BTC to ETH on: March 23, 2024, 11:36:35 PM
I have some BTC on Bitstamp and I want to convert it to ETH and send it to my MetaMask wallet. How best to do so? thanks
I highly suggest to postpone you're plan since the gas fee's during this time is high,
Yeah, worst is, it's a fixed withdrawal fee from an exchange not just from recommendation fee of individual's transaction. Idk how much the fixed fee in bitstamp knowing it's an exchange it should be high too.
Even if we will tell him that it's quite expensive for the fees. It seems that the conversion was already done. Well, good luck to OP to whatever plans he's got.

Well, holding in ETH has more perks than BNB, ETH soar much higher %% unlike BNB this time, so it's more reasonable to have them.
To each their own but I'd like to hold ETH than BNB.

Anyway, @OP if you've done this successfully and you've got no more any follow up questions. The purpose of this thread is done and you may now lock it.

If this is me back in 2017 I may be more than richer mate and that Mindset will surely brings me to success , but sadly I am not and yes i did not hold it strongly and most sadly when the pandemic happens that I need to release my coins .
That's okay mate, you have to use those Bitcoins for something important and I know that there's kind of regret because you have to spend it. But think of it, if it's not for Bitcoin, what might have happened on that situation where you need money?

its lucky that many new enters now has bigger Idea to what is bitcoin and its capacity to bring in its investors.
This is true, many have a lot of guides on how they should perceive this bull run and the upcoming bear market soon. But this time, everyone who's got in on the bull run is totally lucky at all.

The timing is perfect and most likely, they're going to see majority of the cryptocurrencies to be moving that up. And after that, all they need to prepare is on how they're going to make their emotions ready after the bull's done.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Betting Exchanges and Sportsbooks Which has a Profit Potential? on: March 23, 2024, 12:16:39 PM
How does betting exchange work exactly? I learned that it is different from a sports book. I have looked through the gambling board I am yet to see anything like that. Between a betting exchange and a sportsbook, which of them guarantees that I will make a higher profit after a stake of no more than 3% of my bank which is my maximum risk?
3% of your total savings? That's a lot still for me and I won't do that. As much as possible lesser than that so it won't really matter at all if I lose. And knowing what you're doing, you are gambling and there is no guarantee that you'll make a profit out of it.

You should even be expecting that you're going to lose aside from winning. Because at most times, instead of the positivity that you're going to win, what's more anticipated is that you're going to lose more money.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 22, 2024, 06:06:34 PM
Hi community,

When we make a bet and put our money on the line, we may lose money, time, and even some daily tasks that we neglect, and the first goal remains to make a quick profit with the largest possible amount of money, but I do not know why some people consider bets to be more  for fun  and a way to spend time than to win money.

Personally, I would consider it fun when my budget is much greater than my losses or when I gamble with someone else's money, and this is something I would not do if I had no benefit in it.

I think there are those who agree with me and those who do not agree with me, but it remains my personal opinion and it's an opportunity to share it with you on this topic.

So where's the fun when you lose your money?
It's always the reasoning that everyone should only gamble for fun so that you won't get your feelings hurt when you lose. But what you've said is true, there is no fun in losing money but that's part of the game when we gamble. You anticipate that you're going to lose regardless of the reason why you gamble, whether it is for profit or fun.

The matter starts on the gambler's financial situation and if the continuous having fun or chasing of potential wins are that much because of excessive losses. That's the part when someone starts to realize that they have to stop and the problem starts when that gambler don't even want to start and just reasons out that they're having fun.

Welcome to the forum, I see that most of the discussions are about the wallets or social medias that can be connected to your platform. It's not new to me as that's what I've seen with many other websites that has alternative registration but I guess it's the first time or a few times that I've seen that github is being allowed to.

I agree about adding a manual way to register into your platform because people are scared to register with new websites that they aren't trusting yet but willing to try.

Also, about the design, there's too much below when I scroll down. Try to maximize that space and it will be an ease for the visitors to see some logo of the cryptos that you're supporting at the most bottom part of your website.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 22, 2024, 11:14:42 AM
Childhood memories like that were nostalgic and you'll just laugh at it when you get to the point of getting older when you try to remember it.

Everyone has their own moments like this if pertains to gambling and some may even say that they've picked some money from their parents pockets just to gamble.

One crazy moment of mine when I thought that I can really live a well off life by just doing gambling and I did it for a few days but no can do.
I never stole money from my parents to place a bet, for me it was a red line that should not be crossed. It’s good that I didn’t do this, my conscience is clear now, but I knew such cases among my surroundings, I thought that they did something very bad and really upset their parents.

If we take from the craziest stories, I had one story that I don’t really like to remember. It was a long time ago that I started dating my first girlfriend, I really liked her and I decided to surprise her and saved money to go on vacation to the Red Sea with her. At this time, I really loved playing roulette and bet almost all my money on red and almost lost it. Through wagering, I was able to return the bet amount. I had a cold sweat at this time and closed the game. She did not suspect anything at that moment, but a few days later she wrote that we were breaking up and in the end we did not go on this vacation. In general, I almost lost our money that we had been saving for a long time.
As a kid and teenager, I've done that but I never did it with other people but only my parents. Yes, it was a wrong thing to do but it's just me that did naughty things like that to the money of my parents.

That experience of yours was sad but that's how it is and you didn't anticipated that she'll have to break up with you for some reasons. Well, I hope that you have already recovered from that as relationships are hard to forget when you love truly the person that have been with you through thick and thin.
187  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp withdrawal delays, failure to execute withdrawals, Bitstamp failing? on: March 21, 2024, 09:12:06 PM
That's the reason why we don't want to withdraw such huge amounts in just one withdrawals because the most thing we hear from doing so is that we'll just get something like this. And if exchanges like Bitstamp or any other wants to remove this thought from the community, they should do better and provide better assistance and experience when someone withdraws big.
I doubt that OP didn't try to withdrew smaller amount, and he probably got the same result. I would like to hear though whether he tried to convert fiat to bitcoin and then send it that way to other exchange, as some people suggested.
He mentioned that he did it repeatedly so yes, he might already have requested for a withdrawal in smaller amounts and didn't pushed through.

But let's wait on how it went first before proceeding to the attempt of withdrawing that 1.2M GBP.

Maybe there is more with this kind of accounts and let's hear it again from him if the support already replied and addressed this concern of his but I doubt that bitstamp rep will disclose reasons for such delays. So, waiting for some updates from OP.

189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BOME increases 30% in 24 hours on: March 21, 2024, 05:56:27 PM
BOME is at the moment being traded at price of $0.014. That's a 30% increase on price from yesterday. They have also climbed up in coinmarketcap by marketcap, currently at 112, they could soon break into top 100 and have more exposure. They are already very hyped though.
I entered BOME at th price of $0.012 and planning to sell them at 12 cents. How much do you think the coin would rise? or would it die as the current hype settles?
No one knows what will happen to this hype but there are meme coins that are under the rank 100 and that's why many hope for these new emerging meme coins to start having more of them or else they'll miss the pump of it.

But IMO, once they're done then they're done. If you think that it'll reach at 12 cents then all you have to do is to compute how much market cap it needs and if it's possible to get there.

Because with some presumptions that it might get into that price, only you can determine that if it's possible or not.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 20, 2024, 10:02:36 PM
I don't know why people are so quick to commit suicide when things just start going south. It changes nothing. And your right if i am a fan of a streaming club or podcast and i am not sensitive to these kinds of acts i will immediately quit watching and not just that they would lose a fan like me i will also tell my friends and people around me who will avoid such things in the future. Sometimes they should people things into consideration before taking such actions. I know how many persons have been affected by this.
You'll never understand them. I don't want to commit such and it's not on my radar but, these people that have reached the peak of their emotional being that they can't get ahead of it and can't remove the thoughts that they're thinking at that point.

Most of the situations that I have read about a gambler ending their lives were like they've been in debt and in just a few spin or bet, they lose it all.

They don't know where they're going to get their payment but it's their problem and hard to heal from that. Such situations are easy to assess but if it's already personal and you're in the actual situation, it's hard to imagine how you'd deal with it when your mind is blowing and can't get the right thinking.
191  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp withdrawal delays, failure to execute withdrawals, Bitstamp failing? on: March 20, 2024, 08:18:36 PM
But if someone tries to withdraw and that's with the amount you set then it's very likely that won't allow you to do that in a single batch. IMHO, most exchanges have this kind of attitude towards huge withdrawals.
Its one thing to ask for some kind of verificiation in case of such a huge withdrawal, but entirely different what is happening to OP and it makes it very suspicious.

Bitstamp is an old and relitvely reputable exchange and didn't expect them doing things like this. Then again, you simply can't trust centralized exchanges no matter how reputable they are, and especially not with those kind of amounts.
Yeah, no matter how old and reputed an exchange is.

When it's about with such matters and includes bigger withdrawals, they can change their treatment and might cause you headache if we're the one experiencing it.

Do you guys see this 1win series dota 2 spring? It's a quick tournament with a $100k prize pool and I haven't watched a lot of games from this tournament as it's just like a passerby tournament.

Four teams were already eliminated and funny to see that the team of the actual sponsor has been eliminated early finishing with an 8th place. I am not surprised to see who are the four teams left.
Yeah, i've been following it a bit because they have some notable teams participating, but the weaker teams are taking it more seriously. At the same time, the better teams (Spirit and Liquid) are relaxed about losing, as they still have the bigger tournaments coming up in the next few weeks (Elite League and ESL Birmingham).
There's a bigger tournament that they need to be focused of so this invites are like a practice game to them with some stake on the side.

I already have my ticket ready for the finals later on VP, and even posted it on the other thread.
Good luck on that bet. Whoever wins are worth it and deserving but of course we want to see your bet win as well. Smiley

I almost thought they'd be the second team to qualify because they were so clean against Talon and got a map win against Blacklist Rivalry.
This time they're qualified now for Dream League Season 23 and it will start tomorrow and they'll be against Aurora.
194  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp withdrawal delays, failure to execute withdrawals, Bitstamp failing? on: March 19, 2024, 10:12:44 AM
Most exchanges will get some trigger if a user tries to withdraw with a huge amount. They won't have any problems if someone deposits millions in fiat or in crypto.
Surely they wouldn't have any problem with people depositing their money into their exchange, Cheesy and even if they do, they would first of all process the incoming deposit and then confiscate it, and then proceed to make request for additional kyc info or source of funds from the customer. Op has not been online since they made this post, but i think they would return to give us info on where he is now with this case, with what op said the last time, the exchange are yet to confiscate the funds, but the withdrawal fails constantly, i hope op comes back with positive news in their next post.
It's interesting to see where this will end but most of us have got leads on how this is going to end as long as given the requirements and they're all complied.

With such amounts, I am sure that there's like a special handler on this one from bitstamp and the same goes for the other exchanges where they put some in depth investigation, verification and everything before releasing the funds.

Hello users, I was registered today and I don't seem to find my way around the forum because everything is confusing to me, I see a lot of boards for many countries, should I stick to my national board alone?
Whichever is comfortable to you just stay on the topic but if you've got some off topic questions, just take note of that and tell it when you ask more specific questions.

this place is also like an organization right?
We're a community, an organization doesn't sound good IMO.

And in every organization there are rules, do's and don't's guiding the organization right?
And we have those rules and of course aside from those guidelines, you have your judgement and others judgement that you have to consider as well.

I have a lot of questions and I don't want to stress everyone with my many questions hence the reason why I am asking for  links to useful threads. Thanks for your help.
I think you better start here: Newbies - Read before posting

197  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is over priced but people keep spending on: March 18, 2024, 03:20:12 PM
The cost of things has gone up so much so that it's glaring. Imagine paying 5-12$ for an average meal you could get before for 3$. The jump cost is extremely high. Cooking a meal at home can cost you the same amount you would spend on eating in a restaurant. Funny enough people still afford all these things without complaining. My anger is that we make money to spend it all into our normal life expenses. It's difficult now to save or invest unless you part of the rich people in society. An average man has to just eat, pay bills, and survive.
While I do understand the whole point of working hard and then seems not enough with how things and prices have gone up now. We're not rich yet but as someone who's investing and believing on this market, I know that we're going to make it there.

But as we wait for that time to come, we have to do whatever it takes for us to survive. It's not just enough to cut and lessen your expenses but one solution is to educate yourself about finances and also increase your source of income.

Seems basic upon reading and hearing that from someone but doing ways of making it a reality will be challenging.

200  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino vs. Stoc,Forex&Crypto Broker: Who's Really Playing You in the Money Game on: March 17, 2024, 08:34:02 PM
I've known people personally that have quit their job to do gambling full time. But it's not that they're full time gamblers but they're offering some kind of affiliates to their friends as well so that they get commission. So, it's not just they're gambling only but also trying to market the casino that they're gambling with.

They really need to widen up their influence before they can do that and its not easy to build up your own community to get decent profit from it and this is not applicable to anyone that's why people should not think about quitting since their gambling hustle will provide.

Its more better if they would just make it as side hustle and only quit their job when they are stable enough to sustain all their daily needs.

See a lot of people doing this and I don't see any consistency on the earnings since you need to spend a lot of efforts just to convince people to sign up under your link and try those platform what you offer to them.
Yes, building something such as a community where your community members will be not forced to sign up but will do it voluntarily because they've seen on how good you are and helpful to them.

Well, even if we say so that they should do that part time but I've been seeing them promoting it countless times and it's like always on their feed and I don't know if they've got some community that they're not publishing.

But it seems that it is working for them and they're making some good money out of those promotions and affiliates and that's the reason why they do it full time.
