181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The Top 4 most reliable ICO Rating websites on: February 12, 2018, 03:17:03 AM
There are a lot of sites review or rate ICOs but I've never relied on any of those sites, it's a good idea to read and understand their methodology to rate an ICO though, such as mentioned above:
- Team, Vision, and Product
- enough information is provided on the official ICO website
- evaluating ICOs based on their hype and risk score
- reading the ICOs whitepaper
- Hype, Risk, Profit Potential and Longterm Potential
- whether they are using a safe Escrow Service or have a verifiable Soft Cap

It's a good idea to do your own analysis to assess an ICO before putting the money on the table which may end as loss or profit.
One thing to add is: read some review from other participants/backers/investors, whether the devs team provides convenient support and answers all the specific questions regarding their project.
182  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NXT OR XRP price will be back ? on: February 10, 2018, 03:01:57 PM
I don't think nxt has a chance to recover to the ATH, people simply bought it because of free airdrop of ignis for people who hold nxt.
After the distribution of ignis, nxt got dumped to the ground, barely can rise up again.
On the other hand, xrp still has a good chance to rise over $2 again due to people intrigued by the usability and marketcap of xrp.
If you want to check whether a coin will be rise soon, just look at the trading volume on several big exchanges such as BitHumb, Bittrex and Binance.
183  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-07] What Reasons Are Left to Buy Bitcoin Today? on: February 10, 2018, 08:14:25 AM
Should I buy Bitcoin today?
As old as the adage is, it is worth repeating and highlighting: ‘Don’t buy Bitcoin to become an overnight millionaire.’ The reason this needs to be said again is because it will end badly for the individual and for the currency.

If like the Internet and all its associated powers today, you believe Bitcoin can change the world, then it is worth buying into today- while it is cheap. If, you are out to make a quick buck, leave this space alone.

can bitcoin change the world?
I don't think about it when bought bitcoin Cheesy
Consider bitcoin as an alternative currency without limitation to send it across the world (intrigued by this feature).
Next thing is the value of bitcoin that constantly increase over time, not an instant way to be rich but many people got into crypto-world due to profits in short-term compared to most assets, stocks or bonds. Well, it's inevitable though.
184  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning Network & bigger amounts? on: February 10, 2018, 05:59:48 AM
In theory you can transfer the max-flow in a single go,  but software needs to support making payments on separate channels in order to do that atomically and people are working on that.   But usually atomiticity isn't required-- usually you can just make a couple of separate payments if you run into limits.

People are waiting for this, wondering how long it takes for lighting network to be done and can be implemented?
I always thought whether it will going through the drama such as when segwit has not been activated or it will just apply to the main network.
The problem still the same :
- high fees and
- a long time to be confirmed
But, it just happens whenever bitcoin price spike, increases significantly and then people will judge: oh, this is because "spam transactions", we need bigger blocksize. But, it proved the other way after bitcoin corrected, we can send $800 in bitcoin but only pay $0.5 fees.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is SCAM, US Government Institute Claims Bitcoin Cash Is ‘Original’ Bitcoin. on: February 05, 2018, 09:19:40 AM
Rolling on the floor laughing.
bcz of BTC price fallen  (-12.24%) today? , ok.

It's not just today, bitcoin price has fallen more than 50% since December after it reach $20,000.
A big correction due to blockchain can't afford too many transactions per second which cause huge backlog on mempool.
Another reason is some negatives news from Asia, especially in South Korea, a country that has great trading volume, people panic sell after a news indicate crypto trading will be banned.
However, I'm not agree regarding bitcoin called scam and bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin.
It's not the right of a US government institute to claim such thing, bitcoin users deserve to say whether bitcoin or bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin. We know it better than the US institution.
186  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-02] Bitcoin's Brutal Week Is Even Worse in South Korea on: February 02, 2018, 08:26:18 PM
It's not just exchanges in South Korea, if we take a look at volume, yes it is due to they have bigger trading volume
But, if you check the price, bitcoin exchange rate in there still higher than in your country right now, bitcoin has fallen significantly but it recover faster in SK as bitcoin crash started from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission which has subpoena USDT and Bitfinex.
No matter what, everything that rises rapidly in a short time, will come the time it falls down to the ground.
One thing is positive as the result; we can buy cheaper bitcoin and altcoins as these coins will recover in April or May, the cycle always repeated.
187  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why don't people realize the problems with cloud mining? on: January 29, 2018, 01:43:20 AM
You make good points. A lot of these people have never invested in cloud mining but just ride off other people's opinions and never formulate their own. But I have invested in Genesis and I can tell you that it ended with around a 30-40% loss. Of course, right now could be different as the price of bitcoin has been skyrocketing. But I doubt the people who invested in genesis mining contracts with bitcoin at $20k is making a lot either.

As with hashflare, even though I don't have any experience with investing in it, I'm pretty sure that nobody is really satisfied with it let alone profits. You've got the management being a joke, reducing contracts from lifetime to 1 year and then temporarily increasing min. withdraw to 0.2 BTC.

It's true that Genesis Mining is a legit site, but you're probably not going to make a longstanding income from it. But people for the sake of their ref links spread the exact opposite of that.

I don't recommend hashflare as well, but for people who want to give it a shot, go ahead.
The same thing applied to genesis mining, do your own diligence to check and calculate how much to invest and how long it takes to reach ROI, as bitcoin difficulty increase over time if bitcoin price doesn't increase, you are at loss.

Correct me, if I'm wrong.
1. As far as I know, genesis mining is a lifetime bitcoin contract (not altcoins). So, if you have enough hashrate (more than difficulty, that will generate bitcoin) even though it takes a long time, you will get the ROI. in your case, I don't know how much hashrate that you have.

2. Correlated to the first point, if you invest a small amount of money, it's not worth due to the difficulty and maintenance fees: $0.00028/GH/s per day. Let's calculate if you have $179 for 1000 GH/s > maintenance fee = $0.28/day
According to coinwarz, 1000 GH/s may generate BTC0.002898/month * $11,694 (bitcoin price) = $33.89/month.
It takes 30 months to reach ROI, as I said, it's not worth. But, it will be different if bitcoin price increase to $20,000, it takes 18 months to reach ROI.

Another calculation if you invest $3975 for 25,000 GH/s, maintenance fee = $7/day
25,000 GH/s can generate $865/month or $10,524 annually. You can get ROI in 5 months.
Quote
But I doubt the people who invested in genesis mining contracts with bitcoin at $20k is making a lot either.
I can say: it's different if you invest a small amount of money or if you invest a big amount of money to get decent hashrate.
You may share your experience in genesis mining, how much hashrate that you have? How much money that you've invested, and so on, if you don't mind to.
188  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why don't people realize the problems with cloud mining? on: January 27, 2018, 10:19:01 PM
It's quite obvious, greed. People who simply want to earn some quick bucks without any effort fall for these scams, cloud mining, .

These fake schemes are not really easy to understand for newbies, they actually have no experience

Well, not only newbies anybody who is in a state of mind filled with greed and hunger for more and more money

Lack of knowledge and everything that they are searching out is all about profiting in cryptocurrency or mainly with bitcoin.

I want to quote all of the posts above but some of it is enough to describe the perspective of some people about the cloud mining.
is it true?
Greed, lack of knowledge, stupidity, have no experience, etc.
it may be right in some cases (fake cloud mining).
But, if you ask; have you ever invested in genesis mining or hashflare?
The answer is NO, they have not.
They just read other people comment about how terrible cloud mining is, not get paid, payment delayed, etc.

But, I can say: genesis mining quite fair and it's paying people for their hashrate.
It's not me, but some of my friends, I have asked them about genesis mining and the answer: it's paying and profitable. I don't know about hashflare though.

One thing to note: every investment has a risk, whether you will get profit or lose the funds, in this case; just put some money that you are willing to lose. But don't invest blindly without doing some research about the investment and asks some investors, not just ask "commentators" who never invest.
189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold or sell it all ? on: January 19, 2018, 03:25:05 AM
I sold my 7 Bitcoins for $11400 a few hours ago.
I will buy back when Bitcoin reaches $8000.

Then I will have more Bitcoin than before.
This is the best solution.

Many have tried this before.

They sold at $3K, wanted to buy back at $1K and instead bought at $20K.

What will do you when it doesn't reach $8K ?

Obviously, most people think about it, hoping for the price to fall down through the floor of $9500.
But, it's too late in my opinion, the best time to sell when bitcoin at $17,000 a few days ago, or at least at $14,000.
Sold bitcoin at $11,400 and buy back at $8000 (if it really happens) isn't so profitable unless you have a lot of bitcoin.
Let's calculate if you have BTC1, sell at $11,4K waiting for the price decline to $8000, which mean you can buy back BTC1 but can generate $3,400. But how if bitcoin will stay above $10,000? Instead, it will recover to $13K? Honestly, I doubt bitcoin will fall below $10K again, because the storm has passed now. What makes bitcoin price corrected is bitcoin futures contract holders who dump bitcoin in order to get profit from their contracts. They just using South Korea fud news to influence people to panic sell, that was a perfect moment to make it happen. Discount time is over for now.
190  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: January 15, 2018, 05:10:45 PM
Since I have been using electrum for a while, here mine.

Code:

This is Rahar02, I would like to change my bitcoin address for Chipmixer campaign to the new segwit address: bc1qf7zhzckwr2nymljs5m7tdm0qx7nwslg5sde30p

If most exchanges and wallet developers enable segwit address, and everyone willing to use it, we won't end with over 154K unconfirmed transactions on the mempool. Hopefully, more people aware of this matter.
191  Economy / Speculation / Re: South Korea trading ban on: January 11, 2018, 11:58:02 PM
After the CHINA FUD dip the price shoot up and the market cap doubled or tripled, I learned my lesson - bought more BTC!

Well, we can't be really certain that the price of bitcoin will rise higher than its usually price. And we shouldn't be comparing South Korea with China. You never can tell, South Korea might have a greater influence on bitcoin than China; they really affected  the price of bitcoin because of this dispute. We should just hope that they resolve whatever issue they have with Capmarket for the price to pump back.

Buy more btc in the dip obviously, not at the moment as the market just started to cash out, maybe bitcoin will fall to $8K or $9K at the best. South Korean exchanges always have the biggest trading volume even for bitcoin price as few days ago bitcoin reached over $22K while in most exchanges just listed it around $14K-15K.
192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Uncertainty in bitcoin market. on: January 09, 2018, 11:57:32 PM
I would get out of BTC and invest in altcoins. BTC's technology is outdated and it's losing market dominance each and every day. It hit an all time low of around ~33% a couple of weeks ago. This only means that altcoins are on the rise and you BTC will start to fall.

The dominance number isn't so important, look at the price, it still stands over $14,500. Even if bitcoin price decline, many people are willing to buy it as has been proven before. Altcoins are on the rise due to the funds allocate from bitcoin to altcoins which seem can rise significantly or new investors/traders consider bitcoin is too expensive with a ridiculously high fee, which makes the price of altcoins recently surge to new ATH. But, when the time comes, people will cash out from altcoins and allocate their funds back to bitcoin, especially if lightning network be implemented.
193  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Poor support on exchanges on: January 09, 2018, 02:08:57 PM
They take so much money every second every day, and they still dont have proper support, and what poor support means? It means they dont give a fuck about their customers, they only think about money. Becouse i didnt saw on any exchange that taking money doesnt work. They took their fees perfectly, no single problem with it. Liqui too, i cant login on their exchange, and they dont answer for days too.
This is the main problem, there are a lot of IT experts out there or fresh graduate from colleges which ready to help exchanges to ease their burdens with Million of tickets waiting for an answer. They have so much money and they can hire some new employees.
Yes, there are a lot of IT experts out there, but the hard thing to recruit new employees is; to find a trusted person because in most cases of hacked happened due to the insiders of the exchanges. Nevertheless, no need to assigning new employees to do an important task which provides access to the funds/coins, just hand over the task to handle the customer services and answers all those tickets Cheesy
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO][BOUNTY]🌙🌙🌙 Moonlite Bounty Campaign 🌙 🌙🌙 [2MIL BOUNTY] on: January 09, 2018, 09:44:39 AM
I'm surprised, do we have to Retweets 5 times all at once?
Just a suggestion to campaign manager @aTriz
- you may want to create another form to submit our work, 1 retweet per day should be enough.
- limited participants is a good way to manage bounty campaign, such as limited to 100-300 participants.

Anyway, I'm in.
195  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: January 09, 2018, 08:08:17 AM
We are planning to extend session to 7 x 24h instead of current 2 x 24h. Option to destroy session manually will still be there.

Glad to hear that as there are some cases people forgot to extend the session after 2 days, it's not Chipmixer fault though.
Moreover at a current mempool condition which causes most transactions stuck for days if we do not pay adequate fees.
Well, we are waiting for this feature to be implemented.

197  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BTC must split into smaller units to survive on: January 09, 2018, 12:19:48 AM
To anyone who has working eyes and brains, it should be clear now that today, the only important factor for success of  a cryptocoin (or a non-cryptocoin like XRP) is, that it looks cheap. Just go on coinmarketcap; circulation upside down. Result: higher supply coins get all the profit. Cardano, XLM, XRP, Iota, et cetera.

Only solution is splitting. Stocks do it all the time.

I propose a hardfork, 1 BTC (old) = 1000 BTC (new)  Cool

I will disagree with you on the bold part of your message in the following ways

1. You don't have to go on the insultive side in trying to pass your message across as you can do in a well matured way than going that route of insulting as if you are the most intelligent in the whole community.

+1
Insulting others who have a different perspective and act like the smartest person here, it's not a good way to start a discussion with those words.
if Op really thinks it will work, just ask core developers to do so, doubt they will approve it though.
Change the amount of bitcoin from 1 to 1000 doesn't solve the problem of bitcoin transaction, even though it may seem cheap and more people will see it as a bunch of numbers to buy, but it will add the backlog on the mempool without proper scale solution implemented yet > more adopters but the network still on current condition = transaction fees increase even higher and confirmation time become longer.
198  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PSA: Electrum has a critical security vulnerability on: January 07, 2018, 05:35:06 AM
I've updated electrum 3.0.3 for 2-3 weeks and just seen the critical news an hour ago that makes me like panic to update electrum 3.0.4. Even don't dare to open my own wallet now Cheesy and consider to send all of my funds out of electrum.
Yes, it's a big mistake since the vulnerability has been reported on Github since November 2017 but electrum devs didn't pay attention to it or maybe they just missed it? However, I've never heard someone lost bitcoin due to electrum wallet security breach.
199  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Not sure if this is right place to post - I made a Crypto App for Mobile on: January 05, 2018, 04:02:22 AM
Yes, it's a good idea as you mentioned based on your experience in Poloniex chat group in the past.
Honestly, it will be a big mess in chat groups with so many people inside asking about how about this and that coins, but some people can really help to find a hidden gem to invest before it gets pumped and cash out at the right time.
I like the interface, it's white and clean and understands what do you mean by "anonymously talk", seems interesting.
Just make sure to add night mode  Smiley
200  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-03] Happy Birthday Bitcoin! Leading Cryptocurrency Turns Nine Today on: January 04, 2018, 01:50:52 PM
9 years for bitcoin, struggling to maintain its position among the digital asset in the financial world.
Fortunately, few countries being friendly for bitcoin users, even 2 countries has stated bitcoin as legal payment method, this is the biggest achievement for bitcoin in 2017, besides the fact it has reached over $20,000.
People are wondering; how it will be in 2018, bitcoin can't lose its momentum, lightning network should be implemented as soon as possible, high fees must be solved or people will just treat it as a speculative object.
