1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “One Bitcoin, One House,” Nonsense or Reality? on: April 30, 2017, 02:12:51 PM
Zhao Dong, an old Bitcoin holder, suggested to those blind bitcoin investors that:
"if you do not have any knowledge of investment basics, please stay away from the Bitcoin world. You will not get rich, and you are just messing with the Bitcoin market. The fact is those people haven’t realized the real significance of Bitcoin.“ http://news.8btc.com/one-bitcoin-one-house-nonsense-or-reality
he believes that Bitcoin will become a mainstream currency, but it is and will continue to be an experimental new currency for years to come. Put simply, Bitcoin is so not ready to redefine currency.

Great story from his experiences, and he has bought 1 Million CNY worth of bitcoin at that time when bitcoin price slumped to 900 CNY which his mining farm went bankrupt. Bitcoin has proven itself as great asset for long term, but so many people do not believe in bitcoin in long term and do not want take a risk. And good vision to expect 1 bitcoin - 1 house, which the chance isn't zero as the value today still in early days of development, 8 years so far and what about 10 years later? Only people who have faith in bitcoin will get rich in the future, saving bitcoin as much as you can.
1122  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like we have set a new ATH at $1,377 on: April 29, 2017, 05:14:43 PM
Bitcoin prices can not be separated from good/bad news which leads to speculation, recent increase may caused by legalization of bitcoin in Japan and SEC order to review ETF rejection. But ATH means another crash is imminent after ETF get rejected again or if big whales start to cash out their investment. Whatever it is, we need more loyal adopters which support bitcoin as real digital currency or at least precious commodity to save for long term.

1124  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC ETF SEC APPROVED on MAY 15th on: April 28, 2017, 08:42:31 AM
Why do you say "approved"? May has yet to come and nothing is certain but if any announcement of approval or rejection will be out in May 15TH.
Given the recent news about Nevada and adoption of bitcoin as a real world currency in digital form in Japan and given the increase in price worldwide I assume this time big whales are with much more hope than the last times.
This is really pathetic though, we're here to establish a decentralized banking system and yet are depending on the blessing of centralized governments.

Bitcoin ETF Has been rejected for the umpteenth time due to bitcoin has lack of market surveillance and regulation. Bitcoin price always fluctuate and could be manipulated by big whales or people who have huge amounts of bitcoin. But, as SEC intends to review their last decision, bitcoin may have another chance whether to be approved or rejected again : http://www.coindesk.com/sec-orders-review-winklevoss-bitcoin-etf-rejection/
We can't really secede from centralized government and banks system as bitcoin price and people who trade depend on fiat money and exchanges using banks services to deposit and withdrawal fiat money.
1125  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: you need to overcome your fear of losing money on: April 27, 2017, 10:48:43 AM
Don't double-down if you lose. Many traders make that mistake and dig themselves deeper into a hole.  Keep following your trading strategy and if it's a good one you will come out ahead even with losses.

successful traders are risk takers. before we engage our selves in trading or investing we should always remember that losing is part of the game. you win or you loss. be ready and strong enough to face the circumstances, if there's any.
Trading and risk just like double sides of a coin, whether you get profits or loss but risk still involved in every trading process.
Moreover, trading is an activity which someone could make profit while others get loss. who can buy and sell at the right time, they are the most benefited.

1127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep your bitcoins? on: April 27, 2017, 12:31:48 AM
There is no site that is 100 % secure, if you only have a few btc,so you must store it on  exchange. Many people are using online wallets, but I don't completely trust online sites and feel better having coins on my desktop. I keep 2 wallets. 1 for online bitcoin wallet for my trading profits and also the another one is hardware wallet which is store most of my bitcoins and just keep it aside.
lol an exchange could run away anytime ,
just like cryptsy that scamming people who store thousands bitcoin there ,
paper wallet is the most secure wallet to store your bitcoin ,
noone can get access to the wallet but you!
That's a common rule of a wallet, I can't say 100% save but almost as long as you do preventive measure correctly.
Different handling according to how much bitcoin you have, if only a little amount, I prefer to save bitcoin in online wallet (but not an exchange) in case I need to do daily transaction but secure your email first and then your wallet with 2fa or anything else.
If you have big amount of bitcoin, offline wallet may the best option to secure it as long as we keep it in a safe place and keep it away from dangerous things.
1128  Economy / Economics / Re: The best time to invest. on: April 26, 2017, 11:21:51 PM
i think best time to invest.... NOW. because tomorrow price will increase. this motto is able for all days. TTM.
It's just a prediction and also bitcoin will not always increase sometime bitcoin will fall so we have to choose the right time but to invest bitcoin is very not recommended for now because the current price is very high
i am talking from previous few weeks when the price of bitcoin was trading below 1270 USD that in recent time the price of bitcoin is expected to increase more and more and very soon the price of bitcoin will start increasing and now we can see that the price of bitcoin is trading above 1300 USD level that is really a very heavy price.
Bitcoin price reach $1300 right now and I've ever heard ; don't buy bitcoin at ATH when all of the people talking about it because it may drop back after that. But, we don't know whether current price will increase, stable for a while or wait for another decrease. So, it depends on your own decision as Op stated the best time maybe today with the information you have, bitcoin price will always rise anyway.
1129  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to 1400 (forecast) on: April 26, 2017, 03:37:00 PM
Currently is stands at $1377.3 and still going up. It's just a matter of days before touching $1400. Personally, If I have bitcoin, and seeing the price at $1400 I will try to hold it more and wait till its reaches $1800 at the end of the year to sell. But for those we want to sell at $1400, you can do it and its up to you to make the decision.
Looking at Bitfinex's inflated exchange rate isn't adding any value due to their withdrawal difficulties. Bitstamp is a much better exchange for benchmark purposes. In that regard, we're about to break through the $1300 level today.

Please note that I am always guided by the prices at BTC-E exchange.
BTC-E is mostly a conservative exchange, but at least, it's better than all the people that just look at Bitfinex and get excited as the price is on the brink of smashing through $1400 there.
In my country, the biggest exchanges just reach $1260/BTC1 which more or less same with OKCoin but to see other big exchanges such as coinbase, Itbit, and bitstamp already break $1300 today, maybe this bitfinex withdrawal problem gives little influence to the people who sees bitcoin price slowly increases according to preev but I'm worrying about big whales pump and dump project, it is big money obviously, after that significant decline to $1000 again.
1130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen to your BTC and alts if you died ? on: April 26, 2017, 03:15:35 PM
I have accumulated some Bitcoin and other alts. Most of my holdings are in a single wallet yet I have a few on different platforms and one left on an exchange. I have tried to explain this to my spouse yet there is not a full understanding. If I died I am confident that all of this would not be recovered.

This weeks project is to write an encrypted note detailing where are the holdings are and how to access them. Even with access, the knowledge is not there to be able to convert the holdings to fiat if necessary.

What is your situation ?

Same story with my wife, but i'm lucky to have a daughter that finds crypto currency rather interesting. Started her off with some DOGEcoin (since they were really cheap) on an android wallet... Moved up to a self-funded monero coin (thanks smoothie) which she loves and keeps around her room to show off.

Now, i've given her my old ledger HW.1 (bought a new ledger nano S for myself), and i'm paying her in BTC when she does some (very small) chores around the house and when she gets good grades (acutally, i accumulate these earnings untill she has $50, and then i pay her these $50 in one go).

Conclusion: when i die, i hope my kid will know what to do with my ledger nano S (it has a pincode my wife knows btw)...
I have same situation with Red_Sanford, but maybe I didn't teach my spouse clearly enough for her to understand, just a red line of my savings. Looks like I have to make some smart children to bequeath bitcoin from my wallet. Maybe because I felt my journey in cryptocurrency world has just began and didn't think so much about my savings, in the few years later I will.
1131  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: April 26, 2017, 08:33:11 AM
Before when i was starting in this BTC community, my colleagues told me to save some BTC and I didn't understand what for. I'm just saving it for no reason because i don't clearly understand what is the purpose of it, and then suddenly i started to understand little by little that i got benefits from saving as well.
You just newbie and have already known the potential of holding the Bitcoin. Holding to your bitcoin for a long time can make profits. However, It's worth saving in the long run, but I'll suggest that besides of holding you should invest them in other safe business.
People holding bitcoin for a long time because it's more beneficial that way due to bitcoin price constantly increasing as time goes on, especially if you like to saving. Daily trading also profitable but sometimes the price increase after you sold bitcoin, or perhaps some people fear of missing out to get profits at higher price. The most important is your intention to commit saving bitcoin until certain time such as 1 year or 5 years, $100  worth of bitcoin right now will change into $500 or more than $1000 obviously.
1132  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading on: April 26, 2017, 06:32:42 AM
In altcoin trading,is day trading profitable or trading on a long term basis?

in my opinion day trading is profitable and it actually is more profitable than doing it long term.
because altcoins are usually dead in the long term or even if they are not dead like the top altcoins, they have very lengthy dead times in between their pumps.
this means in the short term when they are getting pumped or even having daily fluctuations you can get in and make some profit.
There is no certain answer I think, it depends on:
- which coin do you want to trade, is it new coin which has potential after launch to the cryptocurrency market, this coin may be profitable in the right time after reach higher peak, after dump it may very hard to rise again.

-  or some famous coins such as monero, byteball, zcash, dash and ethereum ; these altcoins could be profitable in short and long term as has been proven all this time.
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sikoba, a peer-to-peer IOU platform on: April 25, 2017, 06:16:49 PM
This decentralized money platform should be great opportunity for everyone which has big potential in finance system. As Sikoba tokens presale has been started since 25th April, don't miss it as you can get many advantages ; What you get in this presale is more tokens per ETH than participants of a future crowdsale will get: either 60% more (during preallocation) or 50% (during public presale). What is not known at this stage are the terms of that future crowdsale. More information please visit : http://www.sikoba.com/www/presale/index.html
1134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation on the price of BTC if Bitfinex does a Gox on: April 25, 2017, 05:22:02 PM
~
My opinion is that the price isn't going to drop, ~

logically speaking price shouldn't drop because there is no reason for it to drop. when you compare bitfinex to the total daily volume traded in bitcoin you can see that they are tiny with their less than 8% volume of total.
and also on top of that, even if they close down today, majority of users have already cashed out their bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies out of pure fear! so there isn't really much left on the platform!!

but we all know bitcoin price has never been logical. so if bitfinex closes down, price will drop because again majority of traders are looking for any excuse to dump and buy the weak hands cheap.
This isn't simple problem if users can't deposit or withdrawal fiat money into and out of bitfinex. They seems hold customers to cash out fiat money through bitcoin as the price reach $1370. People who gambling with this site maybe get profits, but who wants to put their bitcoin in this exchange? As bitcoin in their cold storage diminish so fast, let's see how long they will solve this problem.
If somehow bitfinex crash again, bitcoin price may drop back to $900-$1000 again, hopefully it won't happen.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin digital gold or digital cash? on: April 24, 2017, 04:07:25 PM
Like most of the people here I too believe that bitcoin was supposed to be both. But at present moment it is more likely be represented as digital gold instead of digital cash. People are using it more as an investment rather than as a cash for doing transactions of everyday life.
It leads us to the conclusions, that the biggest affair about bitcoin is that we cannot really use it well as a "digital cash" because for now, the blockchain is under way too big traffic.
Without solving that issue, we won't be able to call bitcoin as a digital cash, and the reason is very simple: regular cash is available to transfer to any bank, anywhere at any moment pretty much (but in fact, the remittance will be done during the working day)basically without paying any fee,  and you can also withdraw it any time you want.

But with BTC you cannot withdraw it insantly, because you need to wait for the confirmations, plus you need to wait for a bank transfer.
You cannot also send it into other wallet without paying the commision, and waiting at least some time, to get the confirmations.

I would call it only as a digital gold for now.
Yes, for now and maybe for a long time as people tend to save their bitcoin and using fiat money for daily transaction.
I think, bitcoin being used as online currency to send it out the country which consider as good option to do that.
Another option is convert bitcoin into fiat money, and it is categorized as digital gold to store of value.

1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: April 23, 2017, 11:50:33 PM
I just wanted to know that, what amount of risk is there in investing in bitcoins.
Right now i am planning to buy btc approx 3-4 btc and just hold them as i guess the price of bitcoin will increase in future and i will get some good profit. But i want to know what is the risk involved. Can bitcoin price decrease and is this right time to buy the bitcoin.
I believe in bitcoin will stay around for a long time, as long as there are users, devs, miners and exchanges that supports bitcoin community, it will continue to rise which has been proven all this time until today. Bitcoin start from nothing and become mainstream, worth $1300.
There is risk involved in every investment, including bitcoin too. But the risk is very small, depends on your point of view, if you want to save bitcoin for long term, then anytime is the best time to buy it.
1138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you have 1BTC to spent in trading what coins will you invest on: April 23, 2017, 05:50:25 PM
if i have one bitcoin and must invest altcoin trading

1 ethereum(ETH) but wait ethereum price down
2 litecoin
3 xrp riple
4 Time coin because price still under ico price

zcash ,monero ,zcoin. that was the three alt coin that Ive been working now, each of it has a very good value when converted to bitcoin right now. try to mine this three too. i hope this post will help you buddy. eth is good also, but you may also try the threen coins that i have been stated. it is quite not so popular but it helps.
I don't know about so many altcoins which has price below $10, usually I do not pay attention to them and just watch over some reputable coins such as mentioned above, eth, zcash, dash, bytteball, bitcoin plus seems leading the market of altcoins right now. I won't invest just one coin if I have BTC1 and will divide into those coins for sure. If one coin go down, there is another may rise up.
1139  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: April 22, 2017, 06:46:22 PM
I know there are many big players who manipulate bitcoin price and make huge profits but can we the bitcointalk members also form a cartel and let bitcoin price never fall?is it possible that we manipulate price as I am sure most of bitcoin users visit this forum
Usually manipulation is done by big whales to change the market situation and gain huge profits. But bitcoin has a very big market cap and it has lots of investors universally. So it is not easy to manipulate bitcoin. But altcoin could easily be manipulated as it has very little market cap.
One rof many reasons is big market cap which makes bitcoin stand so far. The answer is yes we can manipulate bitcoin with proper amount of money or a lot of people cash out, convert bitcoin. But, we know people believe in bitcoin, its valuable more than fiat money.
Many of us here in the forum already did the best to support bitcoin community instead of make it less valuable. But, the cycle remain the same, bitcoin price will still fluctuate according to the market demands.
1140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Check out how forum down time effected BTC price! on: April 22, 2017, 10:52:20 AM
forum wasn't really down, it was a weird DOS attack that we can see theymost already fixed. i read that people could access bitcointalk through VPN and TOR!

funny thing is, nothing about price has changed it is still bitfinex leading the wave and bitstamp dumping the wave killing our buzz.
I just came to know this problem, that's why I could access to the forum using vpn.
But, Op maybe right even a little bit. We will see bigger impact if bitcointalk forum go down for 1 day or 1 week for sure.
Many people which earning bitcoin through this forum will be panic sell theirs as they may worry what happen with bitcoin, just speculate.
