1161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: when will chinese exchanges resume withdrawals? on: April 16, 2017, 09:12:41 AM
When do you think chinese exchanges will resume withdrawals?
Quite uncertain but i am concerned more on the market move after all this suspension will be lifted. What chinese traders are thinking to do when they will get their bitcoins in their hands from trading platforms.  Roll Eyes

they have had their bitcoin from those platforms it is their money that is tied inside of these exchanges and that is because it is tied to the banks. in other words a bank is required to deposit or withdraw your fiat to and from an exchange but bitcoin doesn't need it and you can do it on your own.

and i thought they have resumed the process by now! it is strange because i can see their volume already picked up.
This situation still remain unclear, yiu maybe right due to Okcoin exchange has normal exchange rate but Huobi and BTCChina show the price under normal price around $1000. After PBoC investigators discovered irregularities in the operations of the three biggest exchanges in there, those exchanges has announced to halt withdrawal for bitcoin and litecoin for a month to improve their anti-money laundering capabilities and prevent illegal transactions,  but it's already two months and there's no any information about it.
1162  Economy / Economics / Re: where should i invest my 0.5 btc ? on: April 16, 2017, 08:10:01 AM
Hello every one.I have just bought 0.5 btc to do some investement but i am not able to find any good place to invest them.
Should i invest in cloud mining sites like genesis-mining,hashnest or hashflare.Or there are other options as well to invest my 0.5 btc where i can get some profit after some time.I have invested 0.05btc so far in hashflare out of those, now 0.45 btc left. Please tell me any trusted and good place to invest on.

If you don't know where to invest, just don't. Wait, read and learn.
Never get investing advises from strangers and whatever you read, double check and filter.
When you've learned more, then you'll know (more or less) where to invest.

Bitcoin and altcoin investments are quite risky, so make sure you afford to risk that money.
I would like to know, where did you get the information about hashflare cloud mining? I don't know how many out there but this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1708231.0 seems promising.
I agree that just hold bitcoin is a good investment even though you need to wait a little longer than invest it but sometimes investment could ended wrong and loss. You need to double check, read how much reviews from others that already get profits through those investment.
There's no any guarantee on investment projects and you can check this thread for other options : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1607623.0
1163  Economy / Speculation / Re: oh Arbitrage, where art thou on: April 15, 2017, 06:43:42 PM
And after a long agonizing wait , finally the arbitrage answered your prayers.
Bithack is at 1207 and the bitswamp at 1179.

Well, is still only 28$ left.

If you move around a few thousand coins it looks attractive but such a buy won't mean you'll get a 28k discount.
You could only buy 465 coins (right now) on swamp to reach bitfinex price on.. worth it???

well reading the topic and specially the link that alyssa85 gave to reddit post and some more research that i did yesterday, it is actually because of the fiat withdrawal fears.
in which case being worth it is not the profit you get but based on whether you can really take it out or not.

and i believe the price drop below $1220 was because of this to begin with.
and then the reason why bitstamp is lower because of the additional sell pressure than normal.
We don't know for sure but withdrawal problem is a big deal for traders. Maybe some people already tried it and many thoughts that not worth, it just slightly different right now as the price already recover again. But, people fears of losing bitcoin won't store theirs in an exchange due to past events.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: YO-EX ---- FAST, RESPONSIVE AND FEATURE PACKED EXCHANGE. on: April 15, 2017, 06:00:47 PM
hmmm.. sometime when i open the website is little laggy ? or just my internet connection? But my ping is 25ms so i think normal. On another website normal...

The website uses lots of plugins but it should be run smoothly even on an average platform specifications.

But since you told us that feedback, I suggest to the devs/owners, if possible, to provide a mobile/lite version of this exchange. In this way, people that away on their desk can lightly accessed the website even they will use their resepective native browser. It can also save bandwidth for those mobile users resulting for much speed when accessing the site.

Ah okay got it. Yeah maybe mobile/lite version will be good. hope they will add it as soon as possible

We need to consider more access for the platform maybe it would be accessable from android and IOS, but stay tuned!
I have visited the site through android and my first impressions
you have great website interface  and provide some information about this exchange.
But, I can't access to the current market price of those coins without sign-in, except for yoex coin (yoc/btc).
I hope we could easily access or at least see the trading features of altcoins without sign-in, through android as people will more interested to visit your site.
1165  Economy / Economics / Re: It's Time To Get Painfully Honest: Banks Are Evil on: April 15, 2017, 05:34:28 PM
We know banks systems has many disadvantages and disserve for who doesn't know about it, especially if someone has debts to bank. "Their influence and reach has metastasized to the point where we now live under a captive system. From our retirement accounts, to our homes, to the laws we live under -- the banks control it all. And they run the system for their benefit, not ours."
Banks were created to extract more money from customers for their own sake.
But, we still need it as the need to conduct transactions within some different cities will be easier. Moreover, govs and many companies were cooperate to distribute salaries. we can't easily evade from banks these days.

Segwit will be a disaster. I am not going to support it on BTC because I am a bitcoin HODLER. Meanwhile, I do not have a single litecoin.

One major reason why I had to support Segwit on Litecoin it is because I scare DDoS too much.

https://twitter.com/f2pool_wangchun/status/852372824643600384

why does he think that segwit will be a disaster? i did not find an answer in the linked tweets.

a lot of weird thing has been coming out of f2pool_wangchun these days (and probably before but i have not been aware of it) and he doesn't seem to be all serious about the tweets he makes and it is very possible that he is doing it as a manipulation of the prices since it has been effective on litecoin also.
so in short i wouldn't read to much into "why he says what he says"
Just speculation I thought, without any explanation and reason, he threw an issue.
We have to satisfy with current nodesa/algorithm of blockchain without an upgrade.
Besides, segwit or bitcoin unlimited seems too far away to become reality, or maybe impossible.
1167  Economy / Economics / Re: The best time to invest. on: April 14, 2017, 11:59:28 PM

Some day in the future, you will realize that the best time to invest was not today, but some other day in the future, when prices were low. But with the information that you have today, the best time to invest is still today, because you do not know when prices will be low, and you do know that the longer you hold your investment, the more time it has to grow.

Toughts?
Whenever the price fall down is the best time to invest, as the rule is clear : do not buy at highest peak price as it will decline soon.
But, for long term investment, it doesn't matter, just buy bitcoin as much as you want and you will get profits obviously. Bitcoin has proven as the best investment in long term, slowly increases over time and may increase 100% every year.
1168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going to 2,000 $ soon ? why not ? on: April 14, 2017, 11:50:04 PM
You can't use the word soon for now as the time you started this post many drops have occurred. Reaching 2k was possible by end of 2017 but now i don't think we will see bitcoin reach 2k by this year. If there is a slight chance it will fall as people will start selling their coin. Hitting that mark is possible but stay at 2k will be tough.
Bitcoin has slight possibility to reach 2K as long as miners and blockchain cannot afford all of those flood transactions faster within 10 minutes. For now, the barrier set on $1300 and every time we reach $12xx then it would be drop back again such as recently happened.
We don't know what will happen in the end of this year but bitcoin should rise up to $1500-$1600 at least, even though with just 1Mb block size limit.
1169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If LTC succesfully implements SegWit, will and should BTC follow? on: April 14, 2017, 06:00:36 AM
Hey guys,

the main question of the day is LTC Segwit activation, as I see, the support is over 80% ATM and this has affect the price big time, LTC price has skyrocketed recently.

Once this gets implemented, hopefully without issues, would this be a signal what road should BTC take? Would this finally close mouths of BU supporters? Finally, would this be a sign what would happen to BTC price once this scaling issue gets resolved?

Thx
If LTC Segwit be activated soon, then that's good to see how it goes on in the next few months and Ltc price may increase as well.
But ltc is defferent with bitcoin which doesn't have scalling issue, I don't think whether Segwit or Bu will be activated on bitcoin as we stuck on this 1Mb block size limit. However, if they don't want or it may impossible to implement those solution, it would be good to have at least 2Mb block size for now.
1170  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 12, 2017, 06:41:49 PM
This is good site..i am join this site..bt it lottery alwayes saw small nb...Bt i am never disapointed..i think i am win 1btc  one day
Good luck for you man, I wish you will get it someday and remember me at that time, lol. This site seems so great and legit which many users already review the site.
I've never involved or buy a ticket but FREE WEEKLY LOTTERY WITH BIG PRIZES is very tempting for everyone, I'm wondering how much a person could win for a free lottery Roll Eyes . But you should buy some tickets and maybe you have a better chance to win it > "Lottery - 2 lottery tickets offered to you for each Free BTC roll and 1 lottery ticket for each Free BTC roll from a referral, as well as 1 ticket for every BTC0.00003 wagered in the Multiply game; Lottery payouts are determined by the volume of lottery tickets earned throughout the week and the lottery draw occurs on Sunday each week."
1171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: April 12, 2017, 06:17:25 PM
Trading is not just the art buying when low or high It requires learning a lot of skills. In forex trading for instance a trader must learn both technical and fundamental analysis of trading in order to be profitable  in a long run candlestick pattern is another tool used in trading.

And we are in crypto trading, so don't compare it with forex for they are completely different and far from each other. In crypto trading, in reality you don't have to be that high in skills as long as you know how the market works and it's cycle. You are fine to do that buy and sell, low and high movement.
Different trading platform needs different approach, I've never done forex trading in my life because I find it complicated but when I discover bitcoin I'm getting interested in trading because I have seen a lot of success stories here and that inspired me a lot. My strategy in trading is very simple, I know that crypto is news driven so I just keep myself abreast with the recent news, and buy and sell accordingly.
Neither do I, forex trading felt so hardly to get involved which has bigger risk instead of cryptocurrencies trading. Some strategy already mentioned above and I really pay attention to the right time whether will buy or sell it because when you miss the highest peak of an altcoin then you might be loss for good, except for famous coins especially bitcoin.

1173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can't avoid taxes by investing in bitcoin on: April 11, 2017, 11:53:18 PM
If you think investing in bitcoin or a similar “crypto-currency” may be a good method for hiding income from the tax man, you’d better think again.
http://nypost.com/2017/04/08/no-you-cant-avoid-taxes-by-investing-in-bitcoin/

I am smelling something good here with the news. If the government declared about how peoples can't avoid the taxes by investing in bitcoin, it means directly or indirectly government said that they recognize the existence of bitcoin and how it can be profitable to invest.

I believe that applies only when you buy and sell bitcoin at an exchange, where the exchange has all your personal details and accounts.

If you just hold your bitcoin outside the exchanges, no government will be able to tax you because they won't know how much you have.
The regulations only apply in usa or other countries which already issued regulations about exchanges and bitcoin such as China or Japan. If you buy-sell bitcoin through exchanges, gov may sniff large amount transactions and exchanges should provide information about their customer in case something happens but luckily there's no such regulations about bitcoin taxes in my place and we may consider transaction fees as the way for exchanges paying their taxes, so we pay it indirectly. However, I agree if no one knows you hold big amount of bitcoin outside the exchanges, gov cannot tax it.
1174  Economy / Speculation / Re: price went up, opportunity to buy cheap is now lost on: April 11, 2017, 07:08:56 AM
as i am writing this price is $984 according to bitfinex and it seems like the opportunity to buy cheap coins with a big discount is now officially over.

finally the sell pressure is not to be seen and it seems to me like FOMO[1] is kicking in. specially since many weak hands sold their coins in the depressing days recently. lets see where this ends up. i hope everyone learns some lessons from this.

[1] Fear of Missing Out
As I am writing this, the price is $1208 on preev and it seems another good rise again since the last time we reached this point and fall down below $900. We can't predict whether bitcoin will continue to climb up or slowly decline as people who bought bitcoin at $850-$1000 may tempting to sell out to get profits instead waiting for others doing the same thing and we do not.
The rule is so simple : buy at low and sell at high. But I'm sure that bitcoin price will increase more than $1250 or even reach $1300 before significant drop back again.
1175  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: April 10, 2017, 07:24:21 PM
Just recently got into BTC; I have 2.5 saved up.
Plan on taking 25% of each of my paychecks and accumulating and seeing what will happen in 2017 or later in the year.

Thoughts? Ideas? Speculation? Advice? Tips?

 Huh
You've doing so good man, saved up and planning to accumulate bitcoin, I'm curious how much do you have now? Huh
2017 become another great year for bitcoin development so far, the price has reached new all time high and settle above $1200 which have doubled from the date you bought bitcoin. You become such good example for us to saving bitcoin as much as we could.
1176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hold or Sell on: April 10, 2017, 12:39:37 PM
In trading how do you know if it is time to still hold or is it the right time to sell? Do you go buy your profit margin  or actually wait for the highest possible peak?
For example if you're earning like 10% of your investment, would you just sell or would you be interested in waiting and seeing if it goes more up so you could earn more, in doing that its possible that it may go down and you then earn like 5-8%
But what is your process in this? How do you go about hold and sell timings?
This. This was happened to me 2 days ago when XRP got pumped up until 7k satoshi and then huge dump. Actually when XRP reached 5k satoshi, i already profited enough, but i want more (yea, you can call this greedy) and wait, maybe it would be bounce back to 7k satoshi. But what happened? XRP keep falling down and i decided to sell my XRP at 5000 satoshi, but i'm still lucky because after that (until now) XRP never comeback to 5k satoshi again.
It's very difficult to predict when is the "highest" peak and decided to hold or sell.
Indeed, we can't predict when the right time to sell if we talk about an altcoin due to the price fluctuate in matter of minutes.
There is no certain answer for every coin, for a new one and the most traded coins will be different.
For famous coins such as ethereum, dash or byteball may be easier, but everyone must aim at a certain point to sell out but don't regret your decision if the price rise up as long as you get profits.
1177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Possible To Use Only Bitcoin In Japan? on: April 10, 2017, 09:19:30 AM
Maybe yes in the future, let's say 1-2 years later but not in this year as the article stated : Overall Chen says the trip was successful, but bitcoin is still difficult to use all the time in Japan. Chen hopes that because of Japan's recent legalization law, bitcoin will be easier to use in the region in the near future.
Bitcoin isn't accepted everywhere and still there are some disadvantages to use bitcoin in daily transaction.
However, Japan seems the best country which regulated bitcoin as official payment and a lot of merchants will adopt it, but surely it will grow better over time, and the price already recover to $1200 again.

1180  Economy / Speculation / Re: People selling alts to go back in BTC on: April 03, 2017, 11:59:36 PM
Looks like the bottom was 8XX, now that the hard fork fears are going down and bitcoin unlimited is pretty much dead beyond any reasonable expectative, I can see more and more people jumping back in the Bitcoin train. Looks like ETH already peaked and BTC bottomed.
I just watch over top 5 coins which highest exchange rate on coinmarketcap, and It seems that only Dash shows significant decline after reach over $100 and continue to decrease after that. Byteball, Zcash, Dash, Ethereum and now come a new higher one , Jinn (Like Jinn in the bottle maybe : first impression Shocked). Right away after bitcoin climb up again  pass through $1100 and then unconfirmed transaction exceed 10K again, still affordable but as soon as bitcoin price increase, the problem come back and haunts. Whether those valid transaction or another mempool flooding, but we have to pay more fee and wait longer than usual for every single transaction.
