181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Elon Must not tweeting about any crypto coin on his twitter now ? on: April 01, 2024, 06:27:13 PM
It could be that the world's richest man ATM, Elon Must, isn't oblivion that his actions on shilling certain projects in the past misled a whole lot of people. Perhaps, age had taught him to keep a safe distance from such engagements to save his image. Again, maybe he knows there could be repercussions for shilling ponzi projects and all that now that the crypto space is getting more regulations. Crypto scammers can be traced (Even if it's cumbersome to do) and be made to face the music of their criminal acts. We've seen what's trending with SBF, and the 25yrs jail term he effortlessly bagged.
182  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quick way to learn bitcoin trading on: April 01, 2024, 03:43:22 PM
Trading has more to do with practice than just theory.
You're right. The practical aspect is what qualifies one as a trader and not the salesmanship which is the theory. Patience, together with set skills, is a major thing that makes one profitable in trading. It's a very big key to success. Professional traders know they've to wait for trades to come to them and not chase trades, otherwise they get burnt.

On having demo accounts for practice, it's a good thing. However, I rather also that the person practicing with a demo account opened and funded a live account alongside it. It's better to have a feel of the real thing while also demo trading. Use the smallest lotsize to test run strategies and trading plans until one gets a hang of it or close to it. Doing that helps build confidence level.
183  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think merit is by chance or lengthy article? on: April 01, 2024, 01:27:07 PM
Initially, I use to think merit is by chance ( i.e something that will just happen) or lengthy article ( i.e writing too many paragraphs and the rest of them), but I have come to realize that, it is more than that.
Yes, it's more than all that. It's a subjective thing. What makes User A award merit to a post may not be what User B looks at awarding his.

Quote
I have being discouraged several times because of my numerous posts and replies yet no merit then. Even now, some times I use to be discourage.
I know how frustrating that can be, posting without getting merited would make one see one's posts as substandard and shitty. I had a long merit draught season from my senior rank to hero. It was from the hero rank that I got merit splash that easily took me to the legendary rank. My advice to you in all this is never be discouraged that your posts aren't getting merited now. Continue posting constructively and don't think much of it. Merits will come when you least expect it.

Quote
In summary, don't look at the quantity of post you have make so far but instead try to adjust, I mean improve in your posts, above all be consistent and patient that is the key.
If one doesn't look at the quality of posts one makes, how does one make adjustments then? Perhaps I didn't understand your comment well. Is it?
184  Other / Off-topic / Re: This notification doesn't exist. on: April 01, 2024, 10:53:03 AM

I hope you're prepared to offset medical bills this week for dealing so many users a terrible blow and increased their blood pressure with that ban joke of yours in the other thread 😂. That was wickedly but humourously delivered. Many will remember that for a long time to come.

As for LoyceV, I've come here to behold a reed shaken by the wind 😏. That's what dragged me here.
185  Other / Meta / Re: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) on: April 01, 2024, 09:38:18 AM
😂😂 This actually took the cake! Oh my goodness! I guess I was lucky I didn't check my notifications, otherwise I would've been caught in that adrenaline rush. I believe some folks here will be running a check on their blood pressure this morning. I was busy monitoring what prank theymos would come up with as his annual ritual, not knowing the one below the belt had happened. Nice one.
186  Other / Meta / Re: Adjustments to Merit calculation on: April 01, 2024, 06:34:59 AM
Let me know what you think of these adjustments.
I told a forum member last night to look out for another theymos' April 1st prank. You didn't disappoint in that 😏
187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This bitcoin bull market isn't over yet ! on: March 31, 2024, 11:43:08 PM
I still want to draw back your attention that anything is possible, it could be that this current ATH might be that last we may see on bitcoin. But is this really true?
Yes, anything is possible when it comes to this industry but there are certain things we know can't happen. One is Bitcoin going back to $1k. The only thing that could make that happen is if there's a vulnerability that could be exploited in Bitcoin to mint more of it. On the possibility of its current ATH remaining the highest we could see even after halving, that's not possible. The thing that drove price to break its last ATH wasn't even what had driven Bitcoin in the past to break the previous ones. It was the ETF that brought that action from institutional investors. It did break its previous height before halving. It was the first. Now, there's going to be another leg up for price to spike once halving is done. That's what we're waiting for. Remember, fresh ATH had always come months after halving had taken place. Let's see what this brings as it's obvious the dynamics have changed with Bitcoin.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Notcoin’s Next Move: Closing the Mining Chapter on: March 31, 2024, 08:04:23 PM
What’s Ahead? 🚀

Could this be the start of something big?
Will Notcoin twirl into the spotlight or fade into cosmic obscurity?
I think it's the first. I believe Notcoin is into something big, considering the supposedly affiliation with Ton (inversely, Not) and Telegram rumour around it. There's no smoke without fire. If you watch closely, both projects – Ton and Telegram are having a good price run now and we can attribute such to publicity generated by the Notcoin project. Mining is expected to round up tonight and a second phase of the project begins by April 1st. I'm excited too. We've seen several projects do same and they eventually got listed on various exchanges. Stopping mining doesn't mean the project is coming to its end. It simply means that there's a change of plan or an introduction of new plans just got added.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman-Fried, the "Crypto King" jailed for 25 years on: March 31, 2024, 06:28:03 PM
Overall, I feel worried to those investors who lost their money investing into the project. Some of them even put their life savings into it which is not advisable but still, there are some who are doing it.
Just like you, LogitechMouse, I also think the sentencing was a slap on the wrist for such a heinous crime committed. Though we may not have the statistics, I can bet that there are so many investors who died as a result of SBF's criminal action. Anyway, as lenient as his jail term may be I still believe it's a step in the right direction. Also, this has sent out a warning to other crypto criminals who think they can't be caught.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how long do we think memecoins narrative is going to last ? on: March 31, 2024, 03:46:35 PM
Just like we have Altseason, meme season etc..
Memes are alts too. They blossom whenever general alts are mooning and do not have a separate time to blossom. However, most of them have a good run when they're newly listed and have good narratives behind them. A good number of them have shown promises and have enabled those who invested on them on time to flip accounts. Nothing gives a better ROI than an investment in memes (no doubt),  in as much as it's also more likely to burn investors' funds faster than an investment in credible altcoins.

As for when their useful narratives will last, no one can truly tell that.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cutting my gambling costs to Invest some of it on the Alt and Meme Coins. on: March 31, 2024, 06:42:36 AM
So I'd rather skip or cut my gambling stakes so that I can alternate it to Invest of the unreliable Coins which I'd also say to be it's highily risky to be sighted as gambling too.
Cutting your gambling stakes to invest in memes is gambling too. You're still on the same game, only that the operational narratives aren't the same. Investments in memes are nothing short of gambling. They can easily crash  and come to zero overnight.

Let’s say for example you can only invest $500 every 2 or 3 months, you are still building an investment strategy that way.
I know you're hypothetical on this but isn't that way off an assumption? I don't know how many people who can afford that amount within that space of time and who would want to invest such in Bitcoin and wait couple of months to earn something substantial from it. In the past, that amount in Bitcoin would mean generational wealth but today, I'm not sure it can give X5 ($2,500). Can it? Those who invest in memes are looking for that generational wealth with even less of that amount. Yes, I know it's more risk than investing in Bitcoin but I'm just trying to share a perspective why they do it.
192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful where you connect your wallet on: March 30, 2024, 02:39:04 PM
It's the victim's word for me, "I'm fucking do wit crypto.", as captured in the screenshot. While what happened is really disheartening and sad, the victim made it look like it was 'cryptos' fault that his wallet got drained and not as a result of his negligence. Look at the sites he connected to. I mean, they don't even look safe.

Useful hints:
  • Try never to connect your wallet to any website, bot or dapp you do not trust
Even the ones we trust, we should always vet them. Something happened a few days ago when I tried to swap a particular token I had so I could rebuy it as I sensed a dump was coming. I've never signed my wallet to sell or buy on Pancakeswap. The options had always been to "Approve" if I'm transacting on a token for the first time and then the usual "swap". So, when I got "Sign" wallet pop up I had to slow down. I suspected instantly that something was wrong. I stopped that transaction. I couldn't go on. I may be unnecessarily paranoia and believed something was wrong and never knew it's the new format but I was glad I slowed down (someone should correct me if I'm wrong). I switched over to another DApp and did my transaction. It's better to err on the side of caution than otherwise to please others.

Quote
  • If you must connect your wallet to anywhere, ensure the balance in that wallet is something you can afford to lose
This saved me recently on what could've been a wallet drainer in my bid to migrate an old token that changed its contract. The link sent to me for that by someone who acted like they were helping out was a genuine site, the same as what the project had on its social media. However, unknown to me that in the link I got was connected to a scam link. Luckily, I got saved because I moved that particular token I wanted to migrate to a burner wallet and attempted the migration there. It was there I discovered it was all a scam attempt.[/list]
193  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think if Bitcointalk accepted videos? on: March 30, 2024, 01:13:57 PM
What are your opinions? Should it be possible or not to watch videos via the forum?
If so, do you think it should be possible to share videos from any platform, or just from specific platforms? And what would be the maximum time a video should take to be available here?
I know you're trying to bring creativity and dynamism into the mix, even your past works have shown your good intentions. I've nothing against such conception. However, I'm of the opinion that having videos play in the forum will distract and derail topics of discussion. We know how how these things are easily hijacked. User A sends a video to buttress their point, User B sends a similar video as a follow up but which is slightly different from the first. It goes on and on like that and the import and storyline begins to lose its relevance. Besides, videos are more addictive than comments and we often find ourselves drifting while on them.

In addition, I think this forum should continue to make itself distinct and not see itself as copying what others are doing.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to keep/park (airbag) funds? on: March 30, 2024, 06:09:02 AM
2. The money I have is what is left after investments. And I think I might not need for 3 to 5 years.
The best way to save up more and get a better ROI at the moment is buy up Bitcoin. Yes, even if you've bought already but you've still got some loose change; buy again. Bitcoin, from historical data, is as safe an investment this year (till probably 2025), given to the event of its halving coming up in April. Expectations of price spike are there and no one here should miss that. Don't keep your funds in stable coin/assets now. That will be tying up your funds and allowing it be swallowed up with no additional value. On what asset to convert to safeguard your funds, I like my stablecoin in Tron (USDT Tron). Besides, if you're good at offline investments (traditional trading) you may want to also try your hands on that and make some profit from such.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: new meme coin help on: March 30, 2024, 05:22:36 AM
I looked up their website. It seems straightforward because every information I would search for was sitting right in the home page. However, if they have been working on this the whole time, why are they only creating their telegram channel now? Normally the project would build audience and hype even before the product is ready. But their channel was created only 2 days ago.
Good findings then. What most of these newbies flocking to this place don't know is that this forum isn't to be taken for granted. They shouldn't be hiding behind a mask to drop posts and expect the community to go on a wild chase for something worthless, so to say. It's either OP is on the PekinCoin team or they've got a bag they're hodling and finding a way to get traffic to it. My advice to OP is that they should be vigilant in their involvement in that project, and other alts. The potential for loss is much more in them than in Bitcoin.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find a best bounty campaign to join ? on: March 29, 2024, 07:35:15 PM
If possible can I get list of some good bounty managers with their telegram channel link.
Well, not to burst your bubbles, I don't think knowing certain supposedly "good bounty managers" is a yardstick for measuring good bounties. I used to think that way in the past that they were until I participated in a bounty managed by a few top reputable bounty managers and they didn't end well. Most of these managers don't have control over the distribution and the eventual outcome of the bounties they manage. Distribution is often the problem, especially if rewards aren't escrowed. Even when are escrowed, the projects may even decide to dump the tokens and not provide gas fees for distribution and that ends there.

The important thing anyone who's bounty hunting projects that aren't listed should be to do their research and find out if what they're getting into have utilities. Lastly, it's best to keep off bounties run by newbies. Most of them don't end well.

198  Economy / Speculation / Re: My instincts on the value of bitcoin from now to halving on: March 26, 2024, 11:24:37 PM
Do you have some psychological intake or some personal opinion in related to my emotion?
At the time of making this post, on the 4hr TF the RSI shows overbought but then I've come to realize that in the market there's nothing like overbought or oversold in the true sense of it as price can stretch any length it wants. Though, from other confluences, I expect a little dip from this point at $70,300 to $67,800. If it breaks that level convincingly, we're likely hitting $52,200 region to embrace a value gap. If that doesn't hold, I'm scared to think of it but that would be price going down further to $43,800.
199  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Growing Account Size on: March 26, 2024, 09:27:43 PM
I came across a thread on x by a crypto guru who said the best way to grow your account is by having a strategic edge, proper risk management and Discipline as a trader.
That trader you read from on X couldn't have said it any better. That's apt! MM (Money Management)/Risk Management and emotional control trump even the supposedly best of strategies. I've read so many comments of our members here talking about increasing leverage to trade and be profitable. The aim shouldn't be on making profit while starting out but to have a mastery of one's emotions and strategy.

While starting out trading, the ultimate goal should be on persistent gain even though in trickles. That's the best way to grow and not on over leveraging to grow big overnight.
200  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best altcoin now? on: March 26, 2024, 09:03:18 PM
Which altcoin shoud I be carefully looking at now as BTC goes a little down, do yoiu think..=?? Anything interesting in the trading platforms moving up against the other trend..??
You've to know that trading isn't the same thing as investing or hodling. Traders won't concern themselves so much with the utilities of tokens in as much as they can mirror them through the compasses of their indicators and know where to go in or out but investors do. Now that we're clear on that, and considering your question on what altcoins to buy, I believe it would've been easier if you told us what alts you're considering so the community can jointly look at them. Otherwise, you will have members shill whatever tokens they're hodling to you.

BTC I'm just holding, but at the bottom swing, am I allowed to say which alt I go with here=??
Yes, feel free to say it (them) here. It's a better to guarding you.
