1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM or not ? on: July 22, 2023, 04:55:16 PM
What's more, they've told me that I can't pay this fee with the funds available on the platform, but that I have to pay it with funds from another portfolio. If I don't do this, I won't be able to recover my funds on this platform.
How you guys only get to locate this forum after you've been "supposedly" scammed beggars explanation and the only explanation that best suits is that this isn't a genuine newbie account. Two things are involved here – 1. It's either the OP just made up the story to court sympathy or 2, they're ashamed to post from their main account.

I mean, for crying out loud, how do you invest in something a random person online introduced to you without doing due diligence on it? With a simple click on search engine should give you an idea what that site is all about. Well, I know I sound harsh on this and that's because we've hammered severally on something like this here. Verify first before investing, always.
1122  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think selling your property is better than taking loan? on: July 22, 2023, 03:54:30 PM
Your friend did the right thing on second thought by selling his property. You can't have a disposable property and wait to suffer in abject poverty. However, I hope your friend didn't sell for some frivolous stuff. I won't sell my property for anything other than emergency or investment. If your friend sold so he could feed himself, he will still sell again to continue feeding. That shouldn't be a cogent reason.

On the other hand, it's a thing with me anyway, I never can bring myself to accept buying a friend's property off them when I know they're selling just to raise cash to make ends meet. If they're disposing the property to create more room in their space or replacing such with modern ones, I can buy. If they're disposing them because they want to move over to a different country I can buy. Other than that, I won't. But I can raise them some cash even if it's not all they're asking for as loan (which I won't be keen on asking them to refund me thereafter.) What are friends for.
1123  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie - advice? on: July 22, 2023, 02:00:40 PM
I have been looking online for a book to buy to start things off does anyone have any recommendations?
www.babypips.com is a nice place to start the basics. It was part of the sites I slept on during my formative years in trading. I strongly recommend it. However, whether reading babypips, other resource materials or not; it still boils down to practicals. If you read all you want but don't demo trade or back test whatever information and strategies you've assimilated from books or sites it amounts to nothing. Practice is the main thing in trading. You need to burn the midnight oil doing that. Trading is a serious business career.

Again, once you think you've found your footing in demo trading and want to go live; learn Money Management (MM) and don't ever force trades. Let the trades come to you. If trades delay or don't come, act like nothing wrong happened. No one needs to be trade every day to be profitable.
1124  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: July 22, 2023, 12:15:39 PM
The same case scenario here in the Philippines before the amount of 20 USD is fair enough to sustain for almost five days for food, but right now half,f of it, even the 20 USD, just caters a daily survival only or even takes three days if you have an excellent proper management of money. People see that storing their funds in those banks or even cold cash as the best way to save is not the reality; inflation continuously increasing makes your money less valuable. Reason why good to have a good cashflow so you don't need to think that your money in the future makes a zero or even less value.
I guess it's a global thing. I even thought the OP was talking about the situation in Nigeria when I saw the thread, not knowing they were talking about Europe. The rate of inflation in Nigeria is double figure and it's hitting the citizens real hard. The country hasn't had it this bad until with the new administration in place. Prices of goods aren't predictable within 24hrs after knowing what prices were. They change on hourly basis so to say.

I guess it's about time people started saving their money in stable coins than in fiat, if they can't keep it in Bitcoin at a time like this.
1125  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: July 22, 2023, 10:55:11 AM
In gambling, you simply lose your money if your prediction is wrong and you lose the bet, which is not the case in all types of trading because there are different types of trading, like spot trading, futures, margin trading, options, etc.
Now, that's a wrong conclusion you've there that people don't lose in some types of trading. That's not true. You lose in all, even in Spot trading. As conservative as we believe Spot trading is, one can also lose. What do you think bagholding is? If any coin/token one buys gets rugpull or worthless in the market, isn't that loss? Of course, it's.
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I understand meme coin good or bad position? on: July 21, 2023, 04:04:40 PM
Memecoins rely solely on speculation to remain on top positions in the market. With the exception of DOGE, every other memecoins have equal chances of doing good or bad. DOGE is the exception because it is a classic cryptocurrency which already existed a long time before this memecoin trend started, however it's also not a guarantee it will get more relevance in crypto market futurely. There is also the possibility it has already reached its roof.
To be honest with you, I try as much as I can not to look at Dogecoin as a memecoin. The dev may have created it as fun coin but it has utility. Payment with Doge is as fast as the speed of light. It's the fastest coin I've used for payment. Bitcoin isn't anywhere miles close to it. That's even besides Dogecoin's use in most casinos for gambling. When we talk of memecoins/tokens, we should be looking at worthless coins that merely thrive on hype and nothing else. Those ones are complete shitcoins.
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 32nd Binance Launchpad Project Arkham on: July 21, 2023, 02:43:31 PM
~

I was lucky to get in on it and ended up with some free money. Projects like Arkham are currently very low, but this project has potential to big later. This could be a fantastic chance to turn our small investment into a much bigger amount before the project getting into limelight.
I think it was more of free money for people than the actual sales on the launchpad as I read online of its airdrop. The airdrop was specifically for Binance users who had to apply by enlisting their emails and address on some private wallets like Metamask and TW.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: July 21, 2023, 12:40:08 PM
~snipped~

Coin categories such as memcoins will always appear in huge quantities, regardless of the approaching halving, market trend, or the presence of any particular altcoin season or season of any particular coins. It's all about the very nature of memcoins.
Yes, I know memecoins are not stressful to create and push to the market. However, the point I made there is that there's often a mad demand for them during a bull season because of their cheap prices. Noob investors would mistake these low prices and their low market cap for an indication that there's more room for growth and then buy in. During bear season most investors are meticulous as they're disgruntled investing. Every cent counts during a bear season. Investors are more skeptical and careful during a bear season than they're during a bull season.

1130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is the kidney of cryptocurrency on: July 18, 2023, 08:32:46 PM
The big question is can you live without kidney? I guess the answer is NO so therefore Bitcoin is the kidney of digital currencies.
Heart would've been a better analogy. Every human has two kidneys but just one heart. One kidney can be taken out if it goes very bad and no replacement made of it and the human will survive but that can't be tried with the heart. Anyway, I got your drift there.

That's why all the other coins or tokens follow the Bitcoin price thread.
It doesn't always happen that way. You will be safe to say most follow it but it becomes a hasty generalization when you say, "all"

I'll admit to being a novice.
Well, on this admittance; let me quickly remind you that you posted in a roll and that's not good. It's against the forum rule. You've to merge your two posts or ask mods to do it if you don't know how to do it.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where to invest 7k usdt on: July 18, 2023, 06:39:10 PM
Where to invest 7k usdt

To get profit daily 30$
First off, you've to know that this is a forum with random fellows. You don't have to take anyone as a financial expert. Verify whatever you're told and do your research before executing any advice.

$30 per day, so that's $900 per month and 10k+ per year. You are really expecting to earn $900 per month by just investing $7,000? Not going to happen.
You took the calculation on the whole and that's why you think it's huge. It's not. $30 daily on a $7,000 investment is less than 0.5% daily. I don't think that's asking for too much.
1133  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Missing addresses from imported master public key on: July 18, 2023, 04:15:57 PM
I could give a screen shot but don't want to reveal by used public addresses.
Not as if anyone would care to see what's in those addresses anyway. I'm not sure public addresses put anyone in danger apart from unveiling how much they've received. However, you can block part of the letters in the addresses or blur them out to prevent the public knowing what's there.

I did screen captures, how do I upload them.  No option to select my image files that I can see on this website.
There's a new image hosting site for the forum created by user joker_josue after imgur started misbehaving. You can find everything about it at the Image hosting for BitcoinTalk thread.
1134  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MT4 lots and leverage on: July 18, 2023, 02:30:47 PM
If I have a balance of $2000 and want to trade it all on btc/usd with a 10x leverage how do I do that
You will be better off on spot trading than futures as it's now. From the type of questions you've been asking it's obvious you're a greenhorn in trading. Don't experiment with that much cash. Just buy Bitcoin and leave it for next year. That way, I can assure you it must roll into profit. If you decide to do otherwise and trade it yourself on futures, count your losses. You're bound to lose all, even if it's $2000 trading capital. Don't jump into trading, especially futures. It's volatile. Equip yourself with the set skills for trading. You can source trading materials on YouTube at al and learn all there's to trading before venturing into it.

As an aside, why not do a 5% on leverage if you must insist on trading futures at all cost. Don't forget to take a long position on Bitcoin. Don't swim against the tide.
1135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be patient and you will be there soon. on: July 18, 2023, 01:08:18 PM
I bought BTC early last year when the price was $20k, and the price has taken a good step early this year to hit $30k which is very close to my expectations before I will start selling my BTC to have another opportunity to buy and hold for another bull to come.
So, you're speculating that price will dump below $20k from its current level now? I doubt if that will happen because the fundamentals seem to be favouring Bitcoin at this time. We're almost getting to the end of the year and next year is halving, we know how prices spikes because of that. Anything that will cause Bitcoin to dip won't drag it to that point of $20k. I'm certain of that and will be shocked if that happens.

Quote
If the price of BTC reach $40k next month will you sell? I know many people will not sell until the price reach $100k, which it will take a long years before such dream will come to pass. What is your opinion.
I believe that the next ATH will even surpass $100k, let alone $40k. I won't advise anyone to sell off their Bitcoin before halving except it's for settling an emergency issue. My projection is that Bitcoin won't do anything below $120k then.
1136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Woolong Corp Native Token has been HACKED. on: July 18, 2023, 11:04:55 AM
Sure, I'd be happy to provide more details. We hired a tech professional named Sam from Lagos, Nigeria to integrate Woolong Token into the Woolong Corporation Ecosystem. Unfortunately, due to his lack of experience, he was unable to complete the task successfully. We compensated him for the work he did before he was dismissed.
Those two I bolded didn't add up. It's contradictory to tag someone a professional but in the same breath say they lack experience. Except there's something else you meant there, which will be good for you to explain to us.

Quote
The first indication of a problem arose when we discovered that Sam had sold the 10,000 Woolong tokens that were given to him for testing purposes. This raised concerns about his actions and intentions.
This is the same thing bounty hunters suffer here. When such happens the dev teams will turn around to blame hunters for causing token price to dump and then deny them their remaining reward. Again, this makes it obvious what most projects plan ahead to do and that's why they wouldn't pay with stable coin or Bitcoin. Why pay with your native token when you know anyone it's paid to could dump it? If your team had paid the so-called tech dude with Bitcoin or any other stable coin, whatever selling action he took wouldn't have affected your project.

Quote
Regarding your question about a rug pull, I want to clarify that there was no intentional hype, investment attraction, shutdown, or disappearance associated with this incident. It was an unfortunate case of a compromised account and the subsequent loss of assets. We are actively taking steps to enhance our security measures and prevent such incidents in the future.
This will be on you to convince your investors with action, not mere rhetorics. Most devs embark on projects simply to rug pull, nothing else.
1137  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask for POD form from your bank on: July 18, 2023, 10:05:57 AM
~snipped~
I even wonder if people who do evil intentionally to others even to killing others in either diabolical ways or other ways ever have the thought that they will die someday?
Well that's a topic for another day.
To tell you the sincere truth, I don't think those whose consciences have been seared with hot iron ever imagine in any way that one day they will die. If these ones do, there won't be so much vices and wickedness in this world as everyone will know there's a day of reckoning. This day most people don't evaluate life based on legacy but on wealth. It's worse in Africa. Good name being better than riches is almost a cliché in Africa now.

Quote
I've also heard case where an account officer was operating the account of a deceased even without informing the bank or the family of the deceased...
The story you shared is common place with us in Africa but so many people from saner clans will think it's a figment of someone's imagination.
1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: July 18, 2023, 07:18:55 AM
You probably know that almost all new meme projects are coming out now. Do you think it is really risky? what effect do you think this could have for the bull market!
Like LogitechMouse said, meme coins aren't just risky but very very very risky, (their own words). I think so too though with one "very" for appropriateness 🤔. If anyone wants to invest in memecoins/tokens they should have it at the back of their mind of the potential risks all carry. We've premium tears from those who invested in memecoins following the successful outing of Shiba Inu. These ones concluded that since Shib had a good run, whatever other meme they invest in will equally do well. That's erroneous.

However, let me quickly add that as we approach Bitcoin halving year there are going to be more scam and shitty projects that will hit the market to catch unguarded investors unawares. Bull run is that period when almost anything in the name of a project is embraced. People should be careful.
1139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signature Campaigns on: July 17, 2023, 11:45:11 PM
I recently had a discussion on a forum with some friends about how effective these signature campaigns are for casinos.
How many members actually click on those links and considering the costs of the campaigns, how profitable is it for the initiators of the campaigns?
Besides the visibility these signature campaigns get among members and those wearing the logos here to relate as "work" colleagues, we should also realize that there are unregistered members (guests) who flock here to pick projects to invest in. There must be something advantageous these casinos enjoy for being here that makes more of them seek to run campaigns here. Every business does its feasibility studies, either before setting out or while in the business already to rework their strategy and I'm of the opinion that these casinos aren't dumb not to have done such and seen what benefits they're getting here. They can't be throwing cash around if they aren't getting positive energy, so to speak, from it.
1140  Other / Meta / Re: The problems newbies face on: July 17, 2023, 11:15:14 PM
Normally newbies who just join this forum are been attacked by those that have been here for long and secondly the rules and guidance and where to post and not to post and gaining merit .
Like they would say – Grow a thick skin.

Your observation that newbies get attacked may be right if you're referring to them be checked in open criticism (constructive criticism, that's) which I think are for the right reasons, then you're correct. If you're seeking everyone to turn a blind eye when you err then I don't think you've come to the right forum. Plagiarism and spam posts are two of the top vices that annoy (in generality) the top brass here. So, keep that in mind and do right.
