1081  Other / Meta / Re: re: "how to earn merit" topics on: August 01, 2023, 10:54:59 AM
Just look at that funny picture in the OP. A carpenter who doesn't have a single chair at home. It's the same way we also see people who teach trading but can't earn profit from it to make them quit their day job and begin to elk a living from trading. It's a funny situation. I read a lot of posts like that and laugh at the hidden hypocrisy in them. This is why members here shouldn't take everything said here hook, line and sinker without verifying them.
1082  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting started : Guide me on: August 01, 2023, 08:37:20 AM
I would like to hope that you will believe all of us and will not give up...
That which I put in italics is often the problem with new members. After a while of excitement, the zeal dies off and many of them just abandon their accounts. I think they do this when they've that mindset of hitting it big once they register on this forum. They post for a few weeks and if they don't receive encouragement in form of merits, they bolt away. These ones don't really understand why Rome wasn't built in a single day. I'm encouraging OP to persevere and be constructive in their posts. They will enjoy being here at the end of the day.
1083  Other / Meta / Re: Bringing back the old forgotten threads. on: August 01, 2023, 06:28:07 AM
If I say something wrong please correct I will take corrections.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't think you've said anything that should be considered wrong by airing your view. I'm a lover of history and I think you've a point in your suggestion. However, the type of old threads I would love to see revived are threads that discussed the early days of Bitcoin and those funny less than $500 ATH predictions made. I meant threads from the inception of this forum to 2015. I read some of those threads and I realize how greatly things have changed here, including posting habits and ranking up.
1084  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to grow the bitcoin you have? on: July 31, 2023, 06:21:20 PM
How to grow the bitcoin you have without being involved in gambling or putting it in a custody wallet for APY. Is there any proven low risk method.
If you're a greenhorn in trading, the proven low risk method to grow your Bitcoin would be simply to hodl in a safe wallet you have its Pkey or complete control. For anyone who doesn't understand jack about trading at a time like we've now, they got in here at the right time. Just buy Bitcoin and wait for its mandatory rise in price as halving draws near. Wait and then take profit after 2024. Thereafter, buy back after the rally.
1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Really Burn helps Token in positive way? on: July 31, 2023, 05:39:12 PM
Yes, token burning is a positive thing in tokenomics as it helps reduce maximum supply and expectedly creates scarcity. Scarcity creates demand. Demand causes price to flip. However, it's not the only thing that should cause price to rally up. I think use-case or utility of a token is more important than its burning. If a token has utility that investors already know of, and then the project decides to burn; that becomes an instant spike in price to the upside. I must confess that most noob investors would rather think of token burning than they think of its utility.
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) on: July 31, 2023, 05:00:49 PM
Is DOGE Coin's Rise a Sign of the Future of Cryptocurrencies, or a Fleeting Internet Meme Phenomenon?
I don't know about Dogecoin's rise being a sign of the future of cryptocurrencies but I do know that Doge isn't just an ordinary memecoin. No, it's not even though it was created as joke. I've used it a few times and I can say that it's speed and ease of transaction confirmation is commendable. For those saying it's just a meme coin, they should pause and ask themselves why Doge is still thriving till date. What happened to most of the top listed coins that are dead now while Doge isn't?
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Advise People To Stake? on: July 31, 2023, 02:28:33 PM
Staking bears more risk than ordinarily buying and hodling. "More" is the operative word in my last comment and that doesn't absolve hodling from any type of risk. Late last year or so, I had a bitter taste of what the consequences of staking were as the KCLP and Gzilla tokens I staked using DApp on Trust Wallet disappeared when the projects collapsed. However, I didn't have any issue while I staked some tokens on Binance like Shiba. Before that incident happened to me I used to think staking was just free reward and profit, no serious implications. That's not so. Anyone who isn't strong hearted to stomach losses shouldn't stake. It's as simple as that.

which will be a perfect media  to informate and educate ourselves on bitcoin.
Your choice of words in that expression sounds like what I know. I want to believe you're a Nigerian. You can find other Nigerians in our local board here. Whether there or here, feel free to express yourself and don't be bothered by whatever rank difference your find around. Keep off plagiarism and make sure you obey other forum rules. You will be fine if you do all that.
1089  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do exchanges impact the performance of newly listed token? on: July 31, 2023, 12:08:33 PM
As a trader or investor, can you relate to these findings?
But of course, that's what it's as every trader can attest to that reality. It should even end as a simple observation for non-traders too. There's a reason people rush to invest into projects listed on; let me use Binance as a case study, faster than those listed on other exchanges. Binance is the most rated of them all and everyone wants to do business with it. It's a trust thing. Again, investors assume that Binance doesn't list shit or scam tokens. So, they believe any token they're buying on Binance is genuine. Investors want where best their investments can be guaranteed to succeed because of liquidity provided on that exchange. When all these considerations are taken into view, the maddening for such token is already in place before the token is listed. Demand, we know, dictates price.

And those who want to follow such signals, be careful about it and try to learn something yourself which will be good for your future without trusting the signals.
You're right. I see it as pure laziness on the part of traders who seek signals instead of knowledge. If one depends on being spoon fed (that's what relying on signals does) it's very likely not to progress far in trading. Last year there was a user who advertised their Bitcoin winning trades here. That got some of our members to connect with him on telegram. Yours sincerely was among those who checked his telegram group out. It was a free group. The user seemed like he knew what he was doing and made some predictions that came out well. It was that way until he got carried away and threw caution to the wind and started trading dangerously. He burnt a few accounts and crowd funded funds given to him as a result of his carelessness. Members came down heavily on him with negative comments and thereafter his group became redundant and most people left. We see this type of behaviour all the time.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins do you think are currently still cheap but have good potential for on: July 31, 2023, 08:12:20 AM
Besides credible altcoins like ETH, Cartesi, Matic, I like the idea of hodling launchpad tokens and exchange coins. These ones derive their utility from their platforms. I know it's a chance one takes keeping them because anything can happen to those platforms and the investment disappears into thin air like what happened with FTK and LUNA. But then, that's the nature of the cryptocurrency industry. It's filled with risk. To even come back home, risk generally cuts across all facets of human endeavour; it's not a crypto thing alone. I like BSCpad. It's very cheap now at $0.1 after doing an ATH of $7+ in 2021. It's looking like it won't rise again but don't be deceived it will rally back up.
1092  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is copy trading a viable option for newcomers? on: July 30, 2023, 08:14:47 PM
Many consider it an appealing choice for beginners, but is it truly effective for those who are new to trading?
I don't think it's something beginners should embrace like that. It amounts to giving one fish instead of teaching one how to fish by themselves. Doing copy trading is like aiding someone to cheat in an exam. The point of concern for any beginner who's going into trading is to learn the rudiments of trading and acquire the set skills for it. No shortcut should be encouraged. Newbie traders should go for the knowledge first before thinking of how to fast track earnings.
1093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Days you need to work your ass at minimum wage for a BTC, by country on: July 30, 2023, 06:02:17 PM
That's 64 years, when you factor in the increasing price of Bitcoin over time and the inflationary rate of fiat currencies, then the number might double or even triple.
It's even going to get worse than the seemingly ominous scenario anyone would think you painted there in weeks to come except the government in power does something to disrupt the unabated inflation ravaging the country as it's. As we approach halving, the market goes into a FOMO state and panic buying commences; Bitcoin price begins to rally upward on a static minimum wage. If the situation as it's now remains unchanged in Nigeria, more people will be pushed into poverty in the next few months and the number of years they will have to work to get 1 Bitcoin will lengthen. Nigerians who work 8–5 type of job will be on both losing ends – inflation and Bull rally.
1094  Other / Meta / Re: Charles-Tim merit source application + Nigerian LB merit source application on: July 30, 2023, 05:31:46 AM
Does the Nigerian Local board need more merits?
Yes, the board needs it and "desperately" so. You can check merit distribution in the Nigeria local board. It will hit you how scarcely merits are distributed to worthy posts, most of the posts don't even get any at all. Those you see above Full Members could've risen to Legendary too. You can visit Rikafip's thread "[CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity" and you will see how glaring the facts are. Thank you, by the way, for stopping by here.
1095  Economy / Speculation / Re: How did you see BTC in future? on: July 29, 2023, 05:58:40 PM
~snipped~
Anyone who says otherwise is delusional and speaking in principle what they don’t practice in real life.
Thank you a whole lot. Honestly, it amuses me whenever I read that 1 BTC = 1 BTC quote. It's even worse when you see such comment come from relatively new accounts. I think many of them just say it to gain attention and traction from older accounts.

Your ilks are the real OGs in this industry. It's not just in your moniker but in your knowledge shared on the forum. Perhaps one day you will avail newcomers like us the history of what it truly was like with Bitcoin from the outset on BTT.
1096  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Examine yourself. on: July 29, 2023, 05:37:18 PM
OP, I get your drift on the self assessment push you're giving other users. Sometimes, some of us may lose ourselves to forgetfulness and just come here to post for the sake of posting to keep our accounts active in preparation for an open slot or post to meet up post count without actually putting in the real work. This forum is a win-win for all who truly treasure it, both in knowledge dissemination and earning. I've repeatedly said this. I don't see any reason that anyone who takes their offline job seriously wouldn't take this place too as valuable. Your thread is a wake-up call.
1097  Economy / Speculation / Re: How did you see BTC in future? on: July 29, 2023, 04:25:56 PM
2023 1 BTC = 1 BTC
2024 1 BTC = 1 BTC
2025 1 BTC = 1 BTC

Holding onto the facts ;-)
We know all about that inspirational quote. I doubt if those who quote it will be able to stand to its reality in practice. If 1 BTC in 2009 is the same thing as 1 BTC in 2023, let someone repeat that feat of donating 50 BTC to the forum like some early adopters did 🤦. We're talking about value here, not a mere mathematical representation.

...
2025 = $150k+ this year, bitcoin is supposed to record another All time high so I guess it will more than double its price from the previous ATH
I flow with all you said here. Any projection that puts next Bitcoin ATH at less than double of its present ATH ($68k+) is simply being too modest.
1098  Other / Meta / Re: how do mod get selected? do they get paid? on: July 29, 2023, 01:22:16 PM
how anyone can become mod of a specific board? what mod does when they become mod and how the interface on this forum look like after becoming mod?
Certainly, the forum interface for mods is the same as it's to the general registered members; only that the mods have access to more features we don't have. I write from experience as a mod in one forum that has now gone defunct. The method of selection for us in that forum was based on activeness and then those who wanted to moderate indicated interest by saying that on a thread dedicated to such. Qualified members were picked and communicated to.

Quote
do mod get paid? who pays to mods and how much they earn?
But of course, every labourer deserves their wages. Just like I was paid on that forum, I know mods here too are paid. The only difference would be that I was paid with a shit token created by that said forum while mods here are paid with Bitcoin.
1099  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My number on: July 29, 2023, 08:22:23 AM
Since OP made the error while copying the address...
It's more likely that OP manually wrote out the address than copied it. Otherwise, the mistake in 1 for I wouldn't have occurred. OP, you should desist from doing it manually by typing it out. Just copy and paste and that will save you a lot of mistakes.

I would advise you OP that scammers might likely be sending you messages as you have made this post  as a newbie here but do not give in to them. Never you send your key phrase to anybody for any reason because once sent, it would be used to steal your funds and assets.
From the look of things it's very unlikely that OP has any funds in that wallet. Those who will want to PM the OP for PKey will also be novice like the OP.
