1801  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 03, 2023, 06:36:01 PM
Are you taking into account the fluctuations of 1,000 other users, based on when they were last refreshed? [...]

The formula for most recognized is accounting for activity, trust, and earned merit.. just because you jumped in earned/merit doesn't mean someone else didn't jump more in activity and trust and become more "recognized"... plus, the aforementioned DT1/2 shuffle each month would effect this score also.

I understand... I did not take into account the DT shuffles. In the last example I offered my drawback from Most Recognized ladder happened after I was removed from DT1 after theymos' last shuffle of DT1 users. This may explain...

Regarding the idea to take into account that others could have jumped in activity and / or Trust -- yes, I thought about this, but I did not believe that changes would be so big to determine a decrease of almost 150 positions on a ladder, especially considering that the screenshots were taken at short time intervals one after the other. But, somehow, I think the impact of dropping from DT1 to DT2 has a big impact on this.

Thank you for your explanations!

I definitely tried with the initial design to get more tables on there.. the only good way with the current design is to start another row of columns below the current 4.. but it creates a much larger page, more resource intensive, and it wouldn't be as easy to compare in this arrangement.

Oh I see... Then what about this: maybe simply add links somewhere on top of the page to these two ladders? Maybe one at the left of "M" (the "M" from "MATR") and one at the righ of the "R"? Or at any other place you may find suitable? Would that work better?
1802  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [FREE RAFFLE] 500Th- ฿ECAUSE I AM STILL IN A GOOD MOOD-10 ITEMS AND 10 WINNERS! on: February 03, 2023, 06:26:11 PM
Thank you, krogothmanhattan, for this raffle and congrats for reaching this impressive number of free raffles!

I think that nobody else, in the entire history of the forum, ever reached this amount. Not even by far Smiley

I honestly don't know where you have all these items from, nor what continuously drives you to be so generous and offer so many nice prizes for free, but it's highly appreciated! And, as a coincidence, the first raffle I won inside the forum was one organized by you Smiley I am more than happy to be among winners of the 500th one as well!

That being said, I will contact minerjones to talk to him about the prize delivery.

Cheers!
1803  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Quiz 2022] History of Bitcoin and Bitcointalk 🚩 on: February 03, 2023, 05:31:18 PM
I learned a lot about Bitcoin by participating in this quiz. [...]

My result. 14/21

Wow, this is a very good score for a Newbie! Congrats!

Last year I participated in this quiz, but considering that there have been updates in some of the things you mentioned. So I want to ask, can someone like me who took this quiz last year be able to take it again this year?

Why don't you try it yourself? Smiley The quiz is up and running again. You can pass once more through all questions.

I will try this again after this month ends, few days still left. I should study now lol.
Worth the study but still I got wrong answers, those are the unexpected question.

Finally got the chance to take this quiz and I got 17/21.
I am checking the links with the wrong answers I got. Hoping that I'll have a new learnings today.

Your study brought you a very good score! Congrats! And don't forget to read also xtraelv's topic, which is mentioned in OP. You will learn very many interesting facts from that topic Smiley
1804  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Should BTC amounts greater than 10.000E be declared when leaving the country? on: February 03, 2023, 05:29:39 PM
I've only seen that in the Border Control program (or something like that is called) at the Canadian border if I remember correctly, but I doubt very much that they do that in European countries.

I certainly hope that such cases are very few and only in just a few countries. This feel so... invasive!

I made some research on what you said and on https://www.canada.ca/en.html I found a page describing what you just said. And it's true, they may actually inspect your phone. And not just that! All your digital devices. According to Canadian government (highlight is mine),

Quote
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers are allowed to examine all goods you have with you when you cross the border. This means that just like your luggage, our officers can examine your cell phones, tablets, laptops and any other digital device you are carrying.

A digital device is defined as any device that is capable of storing digital data, such as:

    cell phones
    smartphones
    computers
    tablets
    removable media
    drives
    cameras
    smartwatches
any other device capable of storing digital data

However, after stating these horrendous conditions, they try to make people relax, by saying that they don't always do it...

According to some statistics they offer (which may be or be not true), "from November 20, 2017, until June 30, 2022, only 0.012% of all travellers who were processed at the border had their digital devices examined". If this is true then, indeed, the percentage is very small. However, another thing makes situation scary again:

Quote
Of these examinations, 37.3% resulted in the detection of a customs or immigration-related contravention. These contraventions ranged from evidence of money laundering, the discovery of prohibited goods that pose a threat to public safety (e.g., child pornography or obscenity), and undervalued or undeclared goods.

Could the hilighlighted part refer to crypto as well...?

There are countries where the limit on cash payments is only when one party is a company, but with individuals there are no limits on cash payments.

Are you sure there is no limit for individuals?

is that in a routine control at the "border" (nonexistent for practical purposes today) they do a search and they catch you those €20k in cash or Bitcoin without declaring. Then they will confiscate everything or the excess of €10k, but not if you have declared it before.

Again, are you 100% sure they confiscate undeclared BTC (or what's over 10.000E) although there is no reference inside the law specifying the term cryptocurrency?

Nu de SelfPay ziceam... asa s-or numi acum? [...]

Nu-i apasa deloc-deloc-deloc...?
1806  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 03, 2023, 04:37:26 PM
I come back on this thread with another inconsistency I encountered: I noticed that after ranking up some places on ladders of Most merit and Most earned merit, sometimes the positions you are shown on ladders of Most Recognized and Most trusted are drawn back.

I will explain below with more details:

- this is a screenshot since I was 59th user with most merits and 47th with most earned merits. Note that at this moment I was 520th most trusted and 239th most recognized.

- later on, after receiving more merits, I was 54th user with most merits and 42nd with most earned merits. Note that at this moment I was 515th most trusted and 233th most recognized. So, at this moment, my position on Most Trusted and Most recognized ladders advanced together with the merits which pushed me on the other two ladders.

- later on, after receiving some more merits, I was 51st user with most merits and 41st with most earned merits. Note that at this moment I became 662nd most trusted and 297th most recognized. So, at this moment, my position on Most Trusted and Most recognized ladders decreased, no matter the merits which pushed me on the other two ladders. Besides, the fluctuations are not minor: I advanced 3 positions on Most merit ladder and 1 position on Most earned merit, yet I decreased with 64 positions on Most recognized ladder and with 147 on Most trusted ladder.

And I've noticed in the past in multiple occasions these big fluctuations of Most recognized and Most trusted ladders. Take into account that in all this while my Trust score hasn't changed, only my activity and number of merits.

And, since the formula of recognition is the one below,

The top 1000 most recognized profiles report is calculated using:1000 - ((Activity Rank + Trust Rank + Earned Merit Rank) / 3).

I believe that, if Trust score remains unchanged, as activity and number of merits increase then recognition should also increase, not decrease. Regarding the position on Most Trusted ladder I have no idea why it went down so much, since my Trust score remained the same.

I am not sure if similar fluctuations occur for the other ladders as well (Most active, and Most posts), as I don't have these badges displayed on my bpip profile.

I hope this helps.

And, as a suggestion, perhaps it would be a good idea to implement on bpip's home page all these six ladders, thus it would be easier to observe also which users have most posts and which ones have most earned merits? I know these ladders can be accessed with a workaround (e.g. go to the profile of any user and click on Most earned merit link and the ladder will be shown) but I think it would be nice to have them on home page too. Now of course, it's possible to not fit. But if they can be arranged somehow (perhaps with a smaller column width or a smaller font?) thus they would fit on home page then maybe this would be a nice addition Smiley
1807  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Few Trusted Escrow Provider on: February 03, 2023, 03:45:31 PM
Hey shasan, great job with this topic! And thank you for listing me in OP!

As I said before, I had the intention to create such topic myself, without knowing about yours. Having this in mind, I contacted all escrow providers from the other two topics I knew and asked if they are still offering the service and if any change intervened regarding their charges / conditions. I PMed on Jan 19th the following users: OgNasty, SebastianJu, John (John K.), PsychoticBoy, Dabs, bittawm, willi9974, minerjones, zazarb, Lutpin, SFR10, Hhampuz, krogothmanhattan, realediston, MoparMiningLLC. So far only willi9974, minerjones, MoparMiningLLC, OgNasty, zazarb, Hhampuz, SFR10, and krogothmanhattan replied.

willi9974, minerjones, zazarb, SFR10, krogothmanhattan and MoparMiningLLC are still offering their services.

Hhampuz does not want to be listed. krogothmanhattan is not offering escrow service anymore.

Since SebastianJu, John (John K.), PsychoticBoy, Dabs, bittawm, Lutpin and realediston have not replied in almost a month I think it's safe to not have them listed. Besides, not all have an immaculated reputation here so it's better this way.

So here are the suggestions I have for you:

1. Remove SebastianJu, John (John K.), Dabs and bittawm, due to their inactivity. Since they are not active even on the forum (not to mention that they were unable to reply to a PM sent in their interest in almost one month) I don't think they are still interested.

2. Add willi9974. Here are his details:

- cryptocurrencies you accept
--> BTC and some alts (most of the top 10 alts for other please ask)
- what items are you escrowing (only BTC / BTC and altcoins / physical goods too / digital goods too etc.)
--> international BTC and alts and in EU physical goods possible, depending on the topic
- what amounts are you willing to escrow (min / max)
--> no min and max value
- fees;
--> min. 0.002 BTC or 1% of the escrow value
- your escrow thread.
--> german topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1466069.0 and will be in the next time updated and also a translation into englisch there

3. Add MoparMiningLLC. Here are his details:

Yes still offering escrow.

- cryptocurrencies you accept

BTC is preferred - willing to take other cryptocurrencies on as needed basis.

- what items are you escrowing (only BTC / BTC and altcoins / physical goods too / digital goods too etc.)

will escrow everything except digital goods - used to do these, always proves to be a shitshow.

- what amounts are you willing to escrow (min / max)

no limit.

- fees;

1%

- your escrow thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5154480.msg51472285#msg51472285

4. Add OgNasty. Here are his details:

- cryptocurrencies you accept
All major cryptocurrencies and stablecoins

- what items are you escrowing (only BTC / BTC and altcoins / physical goods too / digital goods too etc.)
Anything legal that can't be charged back (no account sales, no paypal, etc.)

- what amounts are you willing to escrow (min / max)
Any

- fees;
1% of the total - 0.002 BTC minimum

- your escrow thread.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303281.0

5. Update zazarb's info:

- cryptocurrencies you accept
BTC, stablecoin and other altcoins

- what amounts are you willing to escrow (min / max)
Min 0.01BTC or equel, max 50BTC or equel

- fees;
1%, but not less 0.001BTC

- your escrow thread.
request can be submit in my lending thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1161170.0

6. Update minerjones' offer:

- cryptocurrencies you accept
Most major coins if they do not need a unique/special wallet. ie coins that are available on Trezor, Ledger, Ballet

- what items are you escrowing (only BTC / BTC and altcoins / physical goods too / digital goods too etc.)
Mostly physical items, but am available for ICOs, Campaigns, etc

- what amounts are you willing to escrow (min / max)
No min, No max

- fees;
Usually 1% donation, but will work with client to adjust as needed

- your escrow thread.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1833742

7. Update SFR10's offer:

8. Delete Hhampuz and krogothmanhattan per their request.

Hi There!  Thanks for asking but at the moment I am not.  Thanks again and goodluck with the list

No need to add any of my info, thank you!

9.
List updated.

48   Lauda   Ann   1-2% (with a 0.005 BTC minimum)
Has been excluded from my trusted escrow list as Lauda has negative trust.

I think that best reason for removing Lauda is that her account was banned at her own request Smiley

10. Regarding the note from my profile, respective:

Free for the first transaction after completing the first transaction fees will be added

can you change, please, "transaction" with "transactions"?

11. I suggest you to PM Blazed (although there are low chances for him to ever reply, since he was last active in 2020), TwinWinNerD, ninjaboon, BitCoinDream, and Dudeperfect, for making sure they are still offering the service.

12. Last, but not least: I would recommend you to add a column for min-max amounts and a column for what stuff the user is escrowing. Besides, maybe you can PM the final list and ask what yahoo62278 said in my thread from Meta -- "Do you think it's important to only add escrows to the list that can provide proof of funds for the amount they're willing to escrow? If users are truly supposed to feel safe with an escrow, then said escrow should be able to cover/insure a deal if something were to happen."

Anyway, this is up to you if you want or not to implement these changes.

I hope this helps. Let's make this thread the most visible upon Google searches! Maybe also a new topic title may help in Google searches.

1809  Other / Meta / Re: I intend ti create a new topic for users offering escrow services on: February 03, 2023, 02:28:01 PM
I forgot to update my topic. I have such a topic and I will update it today. I have topic "Few Trusted Escrow Providers"

I was not aware of the existence of your topic. Each time I performed Google search for escrow topics I only found the other two topics mentioned in OP. In this case I am glad to see that an up to date topic is there and I will abandon my idea. Maybe we can do something to make your topic more visible? Perhaps a weekly bump? It's important to have your topic be shown in Google searches above the other two topics, as those ones are obsolete.

Edit:
Just removed a few members from my list and soon I will update more.
Edit:
I have updated the trust rank, removed a few more escrow, and edited the escrow fee. Now only need to check via pm whether they are still providing escrow service or not. And need to look up if there is any other escrow service announcement.

I already contacted all escrow providers from the other two threads and I have some answers from some of them. I'll share them with you inside your topic, in order to better it even more.

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions as well.

I will lock this topic, as it's no longer needed, since the problem is already resolved, and I'll continue the discussion inside shasan's own thread.
1810  Other / Meta / Re: [Results 2022] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: February 03, 2023, 02:22:05 PM
What about having a custom title for the winners? It doesn't take much time for theymos to add them. People will see Golden Feather 2021, 2022 and thus, more people will know about the yearly contest too.

This sounds nice and, if I remember well, this was discussed as a possible prize for first edition of the contest but, for some reason, this prize could not be implemented back then.

I think we can create a petition thread to convince theymos that Bitcointalk Community awards winner should have a custom title.

On the other hand, maybe theymos would listen to vox populi, in case such a petiotion would be signed by many users. Who knows? Feel free to try Smiley

My suggestion for next year is to make few changes, maybe we could have randomly selected winners for stuff like hardware wallets and collectibles.

New categories to consider:
- Peacemaker
- Troublemaker
- Drama Queen

Thank you for these suggestions Smiley Would you like to elaborate a bit more about the new categories? I mean to say a few words about their description or what type of users would fit in each category...? Maybe give some examples that cross your mind right now, together with some links to topics showing why X can be considered Peacemaker, why Y can be considered Troublemaker or why Z can be considered Drama Queen? This may be helpful.

@GazetaBitcoin, do you happen to have the total count of valid voters ?

We had 141 eligible voters.

As I stated on my local board at some point, being just a thought, it could be interesting to consider something related to local boards in future events.

Would you like to elaborate a bit on the subject? What do you have in mind? Smiley

I see I'm on the wall of shame for meriting someone's post lol.

Please don't take it this way, don't feel bad about it. I just had to mention the out of the ordinary situations too. (Otherwise maybe I was questioned if I closed my eyes at rule-breaking cases Smiley). Seriously, there was no intention to make you feel like being placed at the wall of shame. You are a very good scam buster!

I do apologize, I read the rules but quickly. [...] it wasn't merit farming or whatever but rules are rules

Relax, I am certain that nobody would ever think about you as a merit farmer, lol. However, it's important to read rules carefully.
1811  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Should BTC amounts greater than 10.000E be declared when leaving the country? on: February 02, 2023, 06:45:37 PM
I myself have not encountered this, but my friends warned me about customs checks.
They were asked to unlock their phone and checked which offers were installed.

Seriously? In this case situation is worst than I thought... I did not imagine that they actually check people's phones... I mean I wrote above about this possibility, but I did not actually think it is happening. May I ask in what countries your friend encountered such zealous custom officers?

The customs officers checked which YouTube channels they subscribed to.

This is ridiculous! Why don't they check the porn sites history then?

I think that this is not related to cryptocurrencies, but when crossing the border it is better to remove cryptocurrency wallets from your phone and laptop.

Considering what you just said I think it's a good advice.

Just curious though: do you know if your friends have crypto wallets on their phones? I'm asking as I'm thinking that, maybe, this is what they were looking for. And, in case your friends did not have any wallet they started to check their YouTube history, to not have their superiors saying they did not make random check at least... And, maybe, if they had crypto wallets then maybe they would be looked with more suspicion...? I can't believe we are living such days.

In cazul acesta, iata ce am gasit:

- caut pe Google "Veros coin scam"
- gasesc un articol despre subiect, care il mentioneaza si pe un oarecare Critian (roman), dezvoltator al Veros, care scria si pe forum
- intru pe forum si gasesc asta:

Quote

Quote
It's scam! No devs! Cristian  from Romania is fucking bitch!

Omul a intrat pe forum in martie 2017; in iulie deja anunta Veros.

Fiuuu daca as fi stiu cine era l-as fi interpelat in secunda 2...

I'd also like to congratulate all winners! Chapeau!

I thank to icopress for his determination in (1) creating this event, (2) reiterating it in the second year, no matter the struggles his country faces and (3) managing to hold the event for the third consecutive year! Those who did not create topics with complex BBCodes have no idea how much it takes just to create the topics he created for the contest. Even to modify them takes a lot...

I thank to everybody which was involved by any mean in organizing the event. I also thank to all which showed their support and asked if we need help. Much appreciated!

I thank to all participants and, as a consolation for those which were not able to participate due to eligibility rules I will say this as encouragement: there is enough time to earn 50 merits until next iteration of the event! Bo good forum contributors and I am sure that many of you will be eligible. One example which just comes in my mind now is the case of Gladitorcomeback, which had less than 50 merits when he voted (he had 16 merits). Yet, in just two months, when the topic was locked, he managed to earn no less than 62 merits, thus his vote became eligible! See? It's possible!

I also thank to all which came with suggestions and feedback. Their thoughts were very valuable and improved the event from year to year.

I see we have some winners again from the same category as the previous year, maybe we should have an award for two-time bitcointalk award winners  Cheesy

That's an interesting idea. Maybe we can make a nomination for those which succeeded that, like there is a position inside some companies named Honorary Chairman... Like a sign of recognition.

last year’s award had the most unbiased voting process since three years. Everything went smoothly.

I am very glad to hear that. It means the new (and enforced :p) rules enhanced the process.

I hope we can see some new people in the future because the same names are on there from last years. Maybe a way of not removing votes for these members but only counting 1/2 of a point for each vote? We might get some new members that were runners up and unlucky because of popularity.

There was a debate inside Discussion topic, from post 368 to 423:

We were also curious about how users feel about implementing a rule which would give chances to more people to win. What we were thinking about is the following: to arrange things thus the winner of a category cannot be the same person from previous contests. Or he can be, as this does not mean a ban -- but he can be with more efforts. To be more precise, all previous winners could start with a coefficient of 0.8. Attention! -- this happens only regarding the previously won category!

For example: Alice won last year in the ScamBuster category.

- For other categories, her vote strength is 1.
- For the ScamBuster category, the power of the votes given for it is 0.8.

If even with this 0.8 vote strength Alice is still this year's winner of ScamBuster category, then she will be declared winner again, no matter what.

This rule, if it'll be adopted, may add some variety. Please let us know your opinions.

The outcome was this: absolutely all which offered their feedback were against this idea Oo

is this event really going to happen every year?

Hopefully Smiley So far it was held three years in a row Smiley

But there was one that made me smile when I saw Foxpup who was selected in the Miss Bitcointalk category. Really interesting.

Why is that?  Cheesy

I can imagine it's a lot of work for team GazetaBitcoin and icopress. They deserve applaud, perhaps some recognition too only because hosting the event and volunteering for it.

Thank you for the kind words. One mention though, you should have phrased "team icopress and GazetaBitcoin". icopress made the master plan and he recruited me :p

The forum has really become a second family for me

So now you have two families  Roll Eyes And, as BitcoinGirl.Club anticipated, now you have even more kids  Cheesy I think you had a premonition when you created your account and you wrote the plural of "family" Smiley Congrats for the triple winning!

Wow, 3 second prizes Cheesy It instantly reminded me of Seinfeld Tongue

Looooooooool! I remember that scene, I laughed like crazy!

Now how am I going to change my personal text?

I think that any choice would suit you well  Cheesy

poster 2 highly trusts worships poster 1 and mostly agrees with his opinions (and by extension, votes) and is very obedient too. He feels lazy but also scared to question every single choice of his master to maybe come up with better nominees himself, and just copy / pastes the whole vote instead plus, this way he also proves how submissive he is.

See? it was a proof of obedience Smiley

Honestly speaking, the reason I made the post was to express gratitude towards Shahzad Afzal's significant contribution

submissive why I'm getting aroused Cheesy

Oh boy

Any chance your office looks like this?

Loooooooooool! Yes, that was the picture ahahhahahah! Good job finding it! I will save it somewhere now to have it at hand in the future Smiley

In cazul lor, investitia era in software, infrastructura...

Si asa, si-au bagat prietenii in groapa. Si, cand a inceput prima sa cada (vezi disparitia lu' CryptoQueen) -- in sensul ca a fugit cu banii -- au inceput si celelalte, iar bietii oameni aflati deja in sistem au vazut cum raman fara niciun ban.

Okay, au intervanit Politia, Interpol-ul etc.; i-au saltat pe unii dar, dupa cum vezi, apar altii care incearca in continuare sa puna piese in carusel...

RickDeckard has won our giveaway, many congratulations to him, well done! [...]

Place 4 goes to o_e_l_e_o.

Congrats RickDeckard and o_e_l_e_o! And thank you, 1miau, for this crazy, funny and nice raffle! I also thank to hilariousandco for giving us his approval to organize this raffle here  Cheesy

RickDeckard can PM GazetaBitcoin for the Bitcoin Romania card.

I will PM him today, in case he does not see the post. If he refuses it I propose to make a short raffle with the participants of the "couch raffle".

Places 2 and 3 are a draw because icopress and 1miau both have a 5 point gap.  Cheesy
Now, we need a solution to determine a winner for the second place. My suggestion would be: predict the last Bitcoin Block mined in February 2023.
But icopress and a majority of our participants need to agree here.

I also agree Smiley

And we are a bit sad to realize that our giveaway for celebrating GazetaBitcoin's new couch, Bonbon L, is already over.  Cry

Awww don't be sad... You are almost making me buy another couch, and make another raffle, for not seeing you sad Smiley

Kidding! Let's see the bright part though: the fun will still continue until end of February if your proposal is agreed by the majority  Cheesy
1817  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Should BTC amounts greater than 10.000E be declared when leaving the country? on: February 02, 2023, 08:45:44 AM
My suggestion is that  you should not carry more than 0.4 BTC (aprox 10k euros) in your mobile phone.

If you are walking with your live savings in your hardware wallet, you need to hide the main seed using a passphrase.

I was not thinking about a hardware wallet but about a mobile wallet. Anyway, most important is to know what the law says. And even if the law would say "yes, declare crypto amounts greater than 10.000E" it's still a gray situation. Look at it in this way:

  • you have an online wallet with more than 10.000E worth of BTC; as it is an online wallet, you don't have it with you. But you can still spend this amount in the country where you travel, right?
  • you have a mobile wallet with more than 10.000E worth of BTC; (1) you don't declare it as you believe no custom officer would ever check your phone: if this happens (meaning your phone will not be checked) then you are free to spend the money; (2) you delete it and reinstall it once you are inside the destination country: again, nobody can stop you from spending; (3) you save wallet.dat and upload it on your email then delete the wallet: once you reach your destination you are free to spend as much as you want; (4) you delete and restore the wallet using a pass phrase etc.

In all above cases you are able to cross any border with more than 10.000E in BTC even if the law would say you must declare if you have such amount.

Now think about this: again, let's suppose the law coerces you to declare big amounts. And you declare you have 15.000E in BTC. What will happen? Or what happens if you actually have 15.000E fiat? Or 20.000E? Do they confiscate what's over 10.000E? Would they confiscate your BTC too (what's over 10.000E)?

Then about this: you have BTC worth of 9000E and the law says to declare if you have over 10.000E. In this case you don't declare anything, as you have only 9000E. But while you are in the new country BTC doubles and suddenly you have 18.000E. So you spend 18.000E maybe on some valuable physical goods and you are questioned upon returning: "how did you buy these since you had under 10.000E? Did you have more than 10.000E in BTC and you didn't declare?" -- and so on. Can you justify the provenience of the goods simply by saying that "BTC price doubled so I suddenly had more than 10.000 although on departure I had less"?

Finally, what if someone sends you BTC worth of 50.000E and you buy goods and, again, you are stopped when returning and questioned how you were able to buy the goods. What happens if you say you received this amount through a Bitcoin transaction? Will you be considered a criminal for being able to receive (and spend) such a big amount?

So you see, even if a law would say you should declare crypto amounts greater than 10.000E (and, so far, we did not find any such law), things are still in a gray area. You may easily avoid the law but even in cases where you would not avoid it you may look shady (take the case where you have 9000E in BTC and BTC price soars; you buy goods which value more than 10.000E then you are questioned how you were able to buy them since you did not declare anything upon departure, as you had less than 10.000E in BTC back then).

Playing devil's advocate

Lol!

maybe the two are extremely good buddies, e.g. sat together to choose a winner

This remember of a guy which showed a sort of office full of muslims, saying this is how they work there and this is why they copy-paste each other or use same crypto addresses... I don't remember exactly the situation but I remember that LoyceV trolled once one of them, quoting his picture of the office and asking him if this was how his workspace looked like Maybe LoyceV remembers and shows that priceless photo Smiley It could be used here, to see how Sayeds56 was in same office with shahzadafzal. (Just kidding though.)

Now let me help you out a little about second option you gave Smiley
