Maybe we will never obtain a 100% decentralization, because I think the people will start to think decentralization = anarchy but it isn't the same thing. Instead we can decentralize the life aspect as the approach with the government's institutions but it will take some time (and remember the governments can no longer be corrupt, or "bribe").
The slide from the Nakamoto Institute : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPY-5SR-jPQ#t=1063Of course they use Satoshi's name without permission to try to gain attention for themselves and they claim to know Satoshi's intentions based on cult-like reasoning and wild speculation. They call themselves an "institute" and give themselves titles like "director of research" yet they have no peer review whatsoever outside their small group of nut jobs and they sit around calling everyone else stupid like a bunch of unemployed teenagers who sit around making fun of people going to work.. You can never stop government corruption or change the fundamental nature of human society by running a blockchain . You can maybe affect certain things and disrupt some business models but it is not reasonable to expect more than that. Here is an example of how most people see the Bitcoin "wing nuts" (Note that this guy is starting a business based on cryptocurrencies and not some anti-Bitcoin person) https://blog.caseykuhlman.com/entries/2014/bitcoin-somaliland.htmlYeah, I hate all these pretentious groups starting with the Bitcoin Foundation. And lol at Nakamoto Institute. Was Nakamoto even asked? Does he even agree with their views? no one should talk in the name of Bitcoin, not even Satoshi himself did it.

Well, there is nothing to regret about. We are still in early stage of Bitcoin so i bet there will be lot of possibilities and chances to make life out of it if you work hard.
Indeed, we are all still pioneers but to reap the benefits we'll need 10 years when people that were there in 09-12 are already retired if they invested just a bit.

You guys are delusional. It's time to fork for fuck sakes, we'll need to deal with this eventually anyway.
why are you such a cheerleader? discussion and understanding is the goal not follow and comply. It's as simple tho. We are on a dead end, if we don't do it now, we'll have to do it later, which will be worse.

It depends on how patient you are. If you buy now, even if it goes down to 90, you still win big time in the long run (10 years time). It depends how much you want to wait and risk for a perfect bottom.

I got some BTC and want to sell them. The prices have gone down too much in past few months. Can anyone tell that when do we expect the prices to again reach 400$+ Also do we expect the prices to go even down? If yes, Shall I buy more BTC? I seriously think its not the correct time to sell the BTC, what you think? Hold them for a decade or weep for a lifetime, choose wisely.

Im going to develop priapism in a couple of years looking back at all the no-coiners vomiting against Bitcoin in threads.

So I recently came into about 13k worth of BTC and would like to put it to work for me as opposed to just holding it. I figure why not hold it and have it work in the meantime through a p2p loan or other low risk semi short term investment.
I'm aware that any investment is a calculated gamble and the fact of using btc for it could complicate it further because of a few factors.
Basically I'm asking if you had 50btc sitting around how would you grow it aside from trying to day trade?
Keep some non invested and maybe don't invest them all in one place not to risk it all on the same third party. The guy on moolah just got arrested.. I don't feel like investing in anything, in the long turn everything happens to be a scam. Anyone can think of anything worth investing btc related?
|
|
|
Meanwhile others like Wordpress remove it... why would they? jackasses.
|
|
|
Omg. I cant believe I contacted this guy when Moolah was released to be a potential investor. Glad I missed the opportunity and did nothing. I feel less and less motivated to search for investing opportunities in Bitcoin related businesses.

...When they buy gov. bonds with this newly created currency they are swapping something that they can simply print out of thin air and then collecting interest on it... And BTC is not created "out of thin air"? And please don't start again with the old saw that BTC represents wasted electricity & digital thumb-twiddling. nope , btc is created out of electricity and math my friend. As I said, wasted electricity and digital thumb-twiddling. Why not make my turds the new world currency? I've been constantly pooping issuing them since birth (like Bitcoin), and many are currently irretrievably lost, for extra scarcity. Like Bitcoin. Unless you think me immortal, the total number of turds to be issued is limited, because math and science. Further, unlike Bitcoin, my poop is tangible & has value beyond its monetary worth. Further unlike Bitcoin, my turds also have only a nominal learning curve--easily understood by goldbugs and Bitcoiners. Bonus! Best of all, turds do not rely on the internet (which we all know is controlled by NSA/CSS & other Jews) or malware-infested smartphones (which will be all destroyed by the inevitable EMP). Get in on the ground floor before the sheeple catch on, don't miss the moontrain, Bitcoiner! It's ok grandpa, now take the meds and go to sleep.

Go to coinwarz.com and calculate the coin profits of any coin given your hash rate and electricity expenses.

russia will join eur and it will skyrocket! We'll see all the Bitcoins being mined by 2140 before we see Russia as a part of the European Union.

They're all in this picture: Lol. I still don't get the idea of using Dark Wallet when you have Monero. Even mixing coins should be enough??

They don't need internet connection or smart phones... as mentioned towers are not a problem
How are they supossed to do anything without internet connection? I dont get it.

Easiest thing to do now is to become a loaner on BTCJam and give people money then get interesst at the end . or simply do it here on the Lending section , it's up to you . (make sure to use an escrow)
~ Madness
Im not sure about BTCJam's regulation level. Unless it is highy regulated and secure im not putting any money since its a matter of time they get "hacker" just like every other company.

We're off with this. Now all we hear is "price doesn't matter"
I think this is happening: Crossing the chasm: I think we are still visionaries. Ask around and its like 1/10 people have even heard of bitcoin in real life.

I realy believe that USD can now be more value than EUR and this might take just a few days . Yup but they will apply makeup with fakemoney and try to fake normality as long as possible.

I just created 100 pennies and I loaned them out to you + interest… How is it possible for you to pay me the 101 pennies you now legally owe me if only 100 pennies are in circulation?
Steal it from someone else. Its a zero sum game (scam) where someone always loses.
