That's a great point. The fees, KYC, and other requirements are set by the BTM provider (GeneralBytes, Lamassu, etc). I'll be updating the map to show live rates and usage requirements.
That's vital in getting people in, and keeping it up to date as well. I'm sure most ATM maps are painfully out of date and none I've seen so far had any info on how they work. It's the difference between wasting a trip and doing business with it for years.

No reason to take any risk with something of this nature. I'd only bother with the one with the most rep and most track record and that's wallet recovery services. The fee would suck but 80% of your lost funds is better than 90% of nothing from another service that turns out to be a bunch of thieving scum.

You know why, it's because there aren't enough categories when I was active there it took me 10 minutes to find one topic that I am comfortable participating because topics are all the same,
I was very struck by that too. The shitposts here are basically identical, they all say nothing, but they are framed by posters who are capable of being lucid and informative and they usually infest threads that started with a proper question or insight. If an entire forum is one giant shitpost there's basically no need to actually read any of it. You already know whatever is written will be empty shite. I've no idea how they're going to change that. This place basically got a shitpost infection. That place was founded on it.

It would be pretty interesting to hear if someone here has ever lost thousands of BTC through silly mistakes.
This is one of the classic coin death stories - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=388169.0 - 1000 mined coins lost due to a dead hard drive. I'm not sure if it's a silly mistake but it was certainly a sizeable one. It looks like I'm 1 merit away from being the required number to become a Hero of this forum! Thank you all for the sMerits! I'm taking your virginity.

It is hard to believe some think opposite.
These are Americans we're talking about. As a Brit I used to think they were us lot with a different accent then I spent a few months there and realised it was the most foreign place I'd ever been. I have more in common with a Bulgarian goat herder. America is the only country in the world with that form of health service. It costs the government more than anywhere else, it costs the people more than anywhere else, the actual results they get are worse than the majority of developed nations. That should say enough. If they don't want to believe it and keep voting against improving it then they get what they deserve.

3. My biggest regret is that one my alts portfolio had passed 25BTC and I was so stupid and greedy to think it isn't enough.
There's a huuuge difference between paper losses and coins you once owned that have actually left your custody. My own paper losses are in the hundreds of BTC but I'm not massively arsed as it was intangible and probably impossible to actually realise. As for real losses it adds up to no more than some dust left on exchanges and giving it to morons who probably lost it, but as soon as it went to them it was no longer mine anyway.

What about the air tickets at cheapair? Have you been overpaying for them too?
They're fucking useless if you're European. They don't list any of the most used airlines. You'll be able to fly from London to Oslo direct for $60 with Ryanair or Easyjet or go through them and spend 190 hours waiting in Baku for a legacy airline connection and pay $500 instead. They can also stick $20-50 on most long haul flights too. One thing I'm not going to do is pay more for the honour of paying in BTC.

You can always go there, get infected, kill the previous patient zero and claim to be satoshi the real patient zero. Just saying.
I think he should turn his little muckspreading tractor into an acid spreader. Make the cab an impregnable carbon diamond shell, put a month of food and a toilet in there and trundle around Europe melting as many people as possible. Since he wants so many dead why not be proactive about it?

A lot of disillusioned NEM users are starting to appear in ProximaX community.
Jolly good. Off you pop. Burn?
Why? The silver coins were meant to be shared *). Edit: *) if no coins, then the XEMs instead are shared
Rhetorical question: what is she difference between burning and re-distribution? (tip: what is the outcome of both actions?) I couldn't care less either way, but sending the original amounts to the original private keys is as good as burning in most cases, and will shut the other people up.

Yeah, but you know what, I still don't want my dad to die.
Post his address on here. I'm sure someone will whack him for you.

forum says ~180 days since 2011, whatever that is.
I asked about that elsewhere. Someone told me that figure is set by how often you refresh and/or change page. After a certain period of inactivity it stops noting and assumes you've gone elsewhere. My figure is, er, rather higher.

seriously tho, what legit reason do you need a mixer for if its not to "illegally" hide the origin of the bitcoin you are mixing?
whether it was obtained legally or not, the act of hiding it is illegal.
Imagine if the conventional banking world introduced a system that ran along the same lines as Bitcoin. Every time you bought a barbed wire dildo the place you bought it from would be able to see how much money you had, where else you spent it and what you spend in future. It would take about ten minutes for the nearest banker to be dangling from a lamp post. Wanting to keep your business to yourself is a perfectly sensible and necessary desire.

If I'm not on the move then I spend much of the day dipping in and out. Maybe only a few minutes at a time but it all adds up. If I'm on the internet at all then I'll drop by here too. I'll guess it adds up to a solid 1-2 hours per day all added up from morning until the early hours.

We're screwed. But at least he will prey for us.

Maybe governments will prosecute developers working on decentralized solutions for the BTC blockchain? If that happens, then Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be "doomed" as they'll be unable to keep up with their value proposition of eliminating third parties from the system. Just my thoughts Bittorrent has caused untold billions of losses to content producers, in their and the government's mind at least, yet the the founder and developers are doing just fine out in public. I can't see any software developer ever being held liable for what's done with what they create by others.

Personally, I'm for the latter because it's likely going to be the case. I don't much people think of bitcoin as a "safe haven" asset as of yet. But then again, we're just guessing.
I would be absolutely astounded if Bitcoin did well during a full on meltdown. It is a safe haven to some people, perhaps 1-10% of Bitcoin fans. Everyone else would be running for exits with their panties on fire.

You're forgetting that many new arrivals/fresh meat decide they should go straight to Bitmex and straight to 1,000,000x leverage. And others decide they're going to make their Bitcoin fortune by putting all their money into PieceOfShitcoin and hoping it goes for it. Both of them certainly are betting and both have a strong possibility of leaving you with no money.
And where is the true word that applies? Most people are not betting and most people are not investing, they are speculating.

Well if some stocks fall because of it then I can see bitcoin and ethereum taking a bit of an advantage over this since they've proved to be 'fairly' stable so far while the other markets haven't been and even quite a bit more prosporous...
If it becomes clear that the economic party is officially over then we'll see what crypto is finally made of in such conditions. Drippy fecal matter is my guess. I can't see it happening from one event like this even if it does have repercussions. I guess we'll see in the coming weeks.

They invited a bunch of locusts to come and stay and now the locusts have stripped the joint bare they seem surprised that they're no longer welcome.
I'm sure there are plenty of decent posters from those locations. I'm also sure there are many more shit ones.
They're not giving them the boot for fun. They weighed up the stats and acted accordingly.

Of course, Bitcointalk's position will not be in danger for several years, but I don't know how to explain this situation.. The free and largely indiscriminate handing out of money of course. Watch what happens when it stops. I've noticed the most common term posters use there is 'work' when related to being on the forum. These days on here you now need to actually show some worth to able to access decent opportunities. Here's one of the threads titles on there which says it all - 'What will happen if 5 people are using same wifi for crypto talk?'
