1081  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 31, 2020, 03:27:58 PM
Hmm... if you want something a bit more current I recommend this:

Come on.

We all know one or both of those astronauts is an antifa plant. We will soon see the first riot in space.

It will not be the last.
1082  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Impact Of Commercial Space Exploration on: May 31, 2020, 03:15:26 PM
I think people underestimate the significance of that launch.

Before that things in space only happened with a nod from the administrators of a handful of space agencies. Now if you can convince investors of your idea the potential is there to actually make it happen. There's no politics, there's no set budget constraint, there's no people scrabbling for the same piece of pie.

This'll be the catalyst to make proper leaps that wouldn't otherwise have happened.

No idea where it'll end up but it'll be vastly further than had it remained entirely in the hands of state agencies.

military?  Huh

Americans doing American things. Best to leave 'em to it.

I have now reached a plateau of acceptance and indifference and instead of watching things like that I have switched to this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcnKvqDMnKU
1084  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitmex Warning: Withdrawals suspended. Banned from Chat. Over 100 Bitcoins stuck on: May 30, 2020, 07:51:42 PM
So I offered him to unlock his account by my method which is unknown for him.

No offence but unless you could prove you're sleeping with Arthur Hayes I would assume there was a catch somewhere along the line too. There is no way anyone who isn't working there will be able to unlock anything. It's 100% under their control.
1085  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitmex Warning: Withdrawals suspended. Banned from Chat. Over 100 Bitcoins stuck on: May 30, 2020, 10:43:13 AM
Bitmex is a hugh company and should act appropriately.

They may be large and rich but that doesn't mean they're legitimate or moral. Their outages seem to always end up with them magically taking your money. No one regulates them as far as I know. They do what the hell they want.
1086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Grayscale Buys 800% More Bitcoin Compared to Q1 2019 on: May 30, 2020, 12:54:41 AM
Does anyone know what their position is on newly minted coins? Is that the only type they'll buy?

I would guess yes just for the sake of a quiet life which means everyone else in future who wants to get in on the same game will be rather less adventurous and will decree that they too only want to go after virgin coins. I hope for their sake they were buying up when production was more plentiful than it is now.
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: so what to do with USDT ?! on: May 30, 2020, 12:34:41 AM
https://twitter.com/CoinbaseCustody/status/1266504653577105409

Coinbase custody now supports USDT based on ERC20 deposits and withdrawals.

That to me is pretty mind boggling. Either Coinbase have done a large amount of homework and are satisfied or they threw in the towel and decided to join the fun.
1088  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 29, 2020, 11:23:58 PM
Someone hinted I should pop down to the newbies forum to help and to hunt for meritable posts. Found this one but can't decide. Should I merit this fella and give him a start on bitcointalk?

Pick a side or piss right off.

That's my take.
1089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets insecure - Ethereum hacker selling databases from shopify hack on: May 29, 2020, 10:30:36 PM
What the hell are you on about?

It's an ecommerce database that was claimed to have been hacked, which has since been debunked.

https://blog.trezor.io/trezor-e-shop-breach-is-a-hoax-d943ce267b66

And please tell us what this has to do with the actual operation of a hardware wallet. I'd be truly fascinated to know.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is getting rich quickly! on: May 29, 2020, 09:56:31 PM
Can you specify more?, Dear friend

My darling, I have done all I can.

Getting rich quickly with Bitcoin is largely a matter of luck followed by the discipline to leave before it collapses again. I don't have a great deal of either.

Many people get the shit kicked out of them and have to stick it out to benefit on the other side.
1091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is getting rich quickly! on: May 29, 2020, 09:04:50 PM
I got into Bitcoin just before the bubble of 2013. One week later it exploded and carried on exploding for weeks.

'Holy shit. This is incredible. It's like a money fountain. I am set, baby.'

After eight orgasmic weeks 2014 arrived and kicked my balls through the top of my head. I was in the red for the best part of three long and agonising years. It got there in the end. It sure as shit made me work for it.

1092  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 29, 2020, 08:11:03 PM
Nice, but what is it with all the tats lately? Seems every girl under 30 has a bull-nose piercing and enough tattoos to be a carnie. They just getting em at the mall?

The main thing I feel when looking at that is - I need to get more tangerines.

I guess this means I have achieved Full Incel.

Go, me.
1093  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitmain co-founder in legal war against shareholders of the company on: May 29, 2020, 07:54:44 PM
Anyhow, bad times for this infighting with the best gear going to ROI in one year assuming 2c/kWh and no other expenses, really really bad timing.

I'm not paying any attention to miningland. How on top are Bitmain these days? Is their position sliding or are they still pretty dominant? Kind of fun if all of this happened just as they were about to fall off a cliff.

Every Bitcoin antagonist seems to fall by the wayside eventually. I always reckoned Bitmain would be just another footnote eventually.
1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman & Sachs: Bitcoin: Currency or Asset Class? on: May 29, 2020, 07:48:44 PM
Strange that they never, ever seem to acknowledge that it does have qualities and usefulness that nothing else has and those same qualities will eventually contribute much more to its value than they are at the moment. Why does that conclusion never surface?

You can call the present market a shitshow and you'd largely be right but it seems very dim not to add that this is one phase on a totally uncharted journey and there's no way of knowing where it's going to end up. Some promising clues have been dropped all the same.
1095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pros and Cons on: May 29, 2020, 07:03:49 PM
Pro - volatility. It can be utterly thrilling.

Con - volatility. It can be very tiresome being whipsawed all over the place, especially when you have a reasonable sum tied up in it. My appetite for it is running out now.

I'd say volatility is still the main thing attracting people to it. It also breaks many people too.
1096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your experience trading cryptocurrency? on: May 29, 2020, 06:58:28 PM
My experience has been one of total and unfailing disaster. I genuinely do not think I've made one right call. Same goes for any buy or sell. I spent 20,000 of some shitcoin to buy a PSVR. Within 2-3 months that became a $40,000 PSVR. I spent $500 on another. By the end of the same week that was $2.

Some people, most people, are not cut out for it. You have to have a very rare type of personality to thrive at it. At least I'm capable of admitting to myself that I'm shit at it. Many are not until all the money is gone.

1097  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will governments do next to manipulate Bitcoin? on: May 29, 2020, 05:14:36 PM
Bitcoin fans love to see persecution wherever they look.

I cannot see a 'let's fuck with BTC' committee in the back of every parliament building. Government is chaotic. Bitcoin is something ever changing with multiple developments that'll either alarm or intrigue lawmakers. There are also untold amounts of potential consequences for every decision they make.

And of course there are countless levels of government. Local authorities may have many more dealings with crypto than other ones.

Most of the time the stuff that people perceive as some killer move was usually spun out of nothing by some crypto press prick.

1098  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitmex Warning: Withdrawals suspended. Banned from Chat. Over 100 Bitcoins stuck on: May 29, 2020, 05:00:23 PM
Make some noise on Reddit. That often pokes companies into some sort of response. I get the feeling that Bitmex are unfeeling psychopaths though so may brush it off. Very few of them pay much attention to here.

I'd try r/bitcoin. They love giving evil crypto companies a hard time. But don't give out any ticket numbers or info about yourself at all. I'd remove the one you've posted just in case.
1099  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Discussion] The Merit System builds our personality on: May 29, 2020, 03:02:12 PM
It's been a fascinating experiment so far.

I'd say shitposting is down but that went hand in hand with being more strict on Sig campaigns too.

It has also spawned other forms of shitposting, the aforementioned merit fishing which I find a bit nauseating and there are also the posters who are blind to their emptiness and will carry on with the shit convinced it's only a matter of time their genius will be picked up on.

The merit obsessives are the most interesting. It seems it dominates certain lives.

I prefer to dribbles on as normal and see what happens.
1100  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Bitcoin SV (BSV) - fake team member and plagiarized white paper on: May 29, 2020, 02:03:42 PM
Today another knock-back for Craig S Wright.

Hot damn. There is a glitch in the matrix somewhere. He needs to dispatch one of his 11yr olds into the bowels of his reality generator to put this right. It's starting to pour steam and make grinding noises.

Soon enough it's gonna blow. Don't be near when it happens.
