What's going on with HoboNickels?
I can't use the latest windows client for about a week. UI became very slow, almost unresponsive.
I tried to redownload the chain, but it didn't solve the problem.
I never saw such behavior in other crypto clients.
This is most likely caused by many micro stakes trying to stake at the same time. It eats up the CPU. The best option is to combine your coins into a few larger sets. Just send them to yourself. This will be addressed in future releases. Although the best I can do is create additional threads for the staking processes. And perhaps further optimized the staking process. But at the core it is just mining so at some point it will be too much and combining will be necessary. Other crypto clients don't stake at 10 days! |

So assuming the correlation between BTC and NASDAQ does exists, with only the time frames being different, then QQQ should see a setback of 30% in the next couple years, then a blast off! starting in 2020. See ya then.......

Yes it will be. I have talked with them. Many other coins have gone through roll backs and been suspended, later to be brought back, once the issue was addressed. I believe I have it corrected. I am testing 1.2.1 right now. |

I'm not sure if this helps. I don't run a mining pool. Just a hobonickeler.
When I used 1.1 client I got the error message "WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Redownload Blockchain. If warning persist contact the Development Team". I deleted the blockchain info, upgraded to 1.2 client, and I still get the same error message.
Should not use 1.1, as of Halloween you will be forked off the main chain. As far as the Warning Checkpoint. That is ok, basically just a notice that the CP needs updated. With each release I update the CP. In some future release I will make it automatic. But that won't be for a while. |

Blocking the IP did away with repeating getblocks messages for now.
The mempool messages are still rolling in after a wallet restart and a rescan.

The getblocks message is normal an prints in everyone's debug. To be honest it should be under debug not general. I've made note of it.
The ERROR mempool message can be solved by shutting the daemon down and restarting. If that doesn't work, try it with a -rescan option. Let me know if neither of those helped.
Yes, sometimes its normal, but not in this case, see - there are same blocks requested by same clients, its repeated constantly, with very high speed. And start blocks are 136263 and 136762 - they are in far past already. In normal life i've never seen same requests with any other altcoins. Yesterday already tryed restart pool wallet, doesnt helped with mempool error. Will try with rescan later. There appears to be a bad client on the network. It is either on purpose or an old client. getblocks doesn't punish peers if they keep requesting the same blocks. I am pretty sure it is 70.98.114.237. I banned him via firewall and it stopped. |

I can confirm this mine is filling up with these errors as well but at a far faster rate than 5-10 seconds. My debug.log I just noticed entered the gigabyte size range. I Hi lucazane , I 'm very pleased with your pools.
I have mined yestarday on your HBN pool with 3kh/s for 3-4 hours.
24 hours lately , no payment at all. I have mined befoure and it paid all then for 1-2 hours.
Is there a problem with the pool , or any problem with the coin itself ?

did HoboNickels get delisted from crypsty?  Yes sir, there was a stuck block and the code is set to auto roll back. This is not necessary with HBN. I am in the process of correcting this. I will issue an update ASAP. Most likely in the next day or so. Then we should be rolling. |

Luckily I only lost a couple smaller transactions on the http://hbn.swiftmint.com pool before the pool software caught the issue and suspended all payouts automatically. After the fix is in place I will enable payouts once more in order to hopefully protect what has been mined. Until then all payments going out of the pool will be suspended. Sent 500 for your troubles. I understand not wanting to do payouts. However I will cover your losses, up to a few thousand. So if there is future trouble, you are covered. |

I saw a few Stale/Limbo mine rewards last night. I assume that's what this was? No biggy on lost ones for me. Just want to make sure I don't have to re-download block chain or anything.
Correct, if you had a transaction in those set, that was reversed as well. Otherwise no need to re-download the chain, you can but you should see exactly the same thing. |
