1881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the year 2100 on: December 07, 2016, 03:49:02 PM
Look at the changes in the last 80 years. In 2100 there will everything re-invented. They will laugh at bitcoin like we do about horse and buggy.

Not everything changes that fast though. Example, Gold and housing is basically still the same type of deal.  Its very possible we have better currency design by then though i agree.
1882  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: circle.com on: December 07, 2016, 01:37:23 PM
this really, really sucks. they were by far the best service. they certainly didn't hang around when it came to abandoning bitcoin. it don't feel very surprising to me. i'm not sure any of the existing bitcoin companies will still be around in 5-10 years.

They are in the business of moving money around the world, even though bitcoin is the best tool for that its still a fraction of global money moving.  Im guessing they done some math and worked out its better for overall profit to just do fiat for time being.
1883  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Skrill Allows BTC now? on: December 07, 2016, 11:48:19 AM
OP : Actually you solved a big problem of mine. I was trading with a user on localbitcoins named " carlacosta" and he/she was charging me like 15-20% fees I guess and now I am really glad you gave me this site.
Well, there are uses who give me skrill at 1-2% fees on localbtcoins but I prefer highly trusted ones due to reversible nature of skrill.

paypal should also allow deposit through bitcoin, as other payment processors allowing.
It may happen at any time, they are already partnering with coinbase for this reason.

Paypal need to hurry up and get on that.  I like neteller but would much prefer to go via paypal tbh.  Would be nice to see the 1% fee down to 0.5% or something.  Maybe for bigger deposits they could lower the %.
1884  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Should we add Amazon to Shopawl? on: December 07, 2016, 11:43:41 AM
Hi,

We're looking toward adding Amazon to our stores list. We know that you can buy stuff from Amazon already but can't buy used items which are available at good rates on Amazon so we are looking to provide a solution for that.

What do you think? We're open for your suggestions!
Good idea but eBay already have a big market. but adding Amazon will help shopawl to become more popular as an escrow service.

Got to say even though i hate ebay, i have always found it so much better v amazon.  Even for prices of items they seem lower due to more competition between sellers i guess.
1885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can you stand alone? on: December 06, 2016, 02:35:35 PM
As quoted internet seems to be the one without which bitcoin could have never reached this high. If everything around the globe gets digitalized as well people gets some basic education, sure bitcoin stands alone. But these were not cent percent possible so sure bitcoin grows with dependence.

As you have mentioned if all people around the globe are digitalized then bitcoin may have a chance to stand alone. But  it is only one the factors that will lead eventually to bitcoins being independent. But for now the world is not yet ready, the change and shift from fiat to crypto will undergo a normal transition and there are no shortcuts. But I believe on the idea that someday it is a possibility.

Bitcoin full adoption right now could create wars and much anarchy.  Govs would lose power population would have to fend for themselves and they aren't used to it.
1886  Economy / Economics / Re: Youtuber Crushes 1 Kilo Gold Bar Worth $40k, Hilarity Ensues on: December 05, 2016, 06:49:58 PM
Isn't it still worth its weight though, even scrap it would be a good price.
What was the cost of the gold bar, in it's former shape?

Its going to be worth just about the same, maybe a slight value loss due to the fact people like a nice bar shape of gold.  If you buy coins for example you end up paying more overall due to paying for design.
1887  Economy / Economics / Re: How many BTC will make you a fiat millionaire in 5 years? on: December 05, 2016, 04:50:40 PM
I'd say 500 should be enough, given all the key technical changes go through smoothly
500 still not enough to make you a fiat millionare  after 5 years. 5000btc can give you a better life even wiithout a job. Cause after 5 years the price of bitcoin  will be  tripled on that year.too early to say that thing , but my prediction can be true.

500 is a boat load of bitcoin, no question you will be a millionaire in fiat dollars off of that.  How many people even have 500, i doubt there is 1 person who will read this post who does.  More realistic targets for forum users on average is probably like, 10 or 21 coins.  Smiley
1888  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Referendum in Italy Which could lead them to leave the EU on: December 05, 2016, 02:03:01 PM

lol completely missed what was happening here, more good news for bitcoin though with uncertainty from italy and trump on mexico.  How long before we have a major fallout i wonder.
1889  Economy / Economics / Re: How many BTC will make you a fiat millionaire in 5 years? on: December 05, 2016, 01:56:42 PM
Waiting five years is way longer than what I envisaged even as at now, with 5btc, I am already a millionaire and even a double one at that. Probably because of my the value of my currency and the low cost of living ovcer here but with that amount converted, I am already a comfortable person with no bother of basic needs of life.

5 years is nothing, most people in bitcoin are generally younger so they see hodling for 5 years as something they wont do.  In reality most people should just hold forever and spend it as bitcoin.  Market forces mean many will dump in the thousands cause they need to buy stuff to live.
1890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 05, 2016, 12:33:16 PM
It looks like bad result still continue to follow MU, though they were not lost but this is not a good result, better for MU management to started doing evaluation for improvement, if not they are even harder to get in the big 5
Thought Manchester United could win this match until the last few minutes ,i would say Everton got lucky with the penalty and Leighton Baines scored the goal they needed to level the match Sad , as expected Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the only goal for Manchester United and i would love to see someone to accompany Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score more goals and thats the improvement they need right now.i used to wonder if Christiano Ronaldo would stay in MU what would be the situation. Roll Eyes
in my view Manchester United has no luck in this match and i was thought Manchester United will win because everything was fine untill Fellaini in to the match 2 minutes remaining before the match was ended and i personally will blame Fellaini because he has screwed everything and honestly i still pissed with this results

Fellaini is a power player and clumsy, im not sure it was a great idea to bring him on.  When players come off the bench they are trying to make an impact.  Would have been better off bring him on because they need a goal.
1891  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: December 05, 2016, 11:34:21 AM
You mean bitcoin when you said "one currency", right? For me it would not be the problem I think, because bitcoin's price is just the same all over the world. But if you were saying that "currency"  is real money then I think it would be not also a problem as long as we are always have the same thought about using it fairly. But don't you think that it is a little boring to use only one?, just my opinion.

If we have a 1 fiat currency system it means we have 1 world government which could be very bad unless its some kind of decentralized gov set up.  Then if it is decentralized gov set up you wonder why we need money in first place.
1892  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: December 05, 2016, 10:52:46 AM
[Edited to make it more understandable question]
What if all nation use only a one currency or one global currency?, What will happen to our world?, What is the effect of every nation's or every country economy?, It can make people's unite each other?Any opinion. Cheesy

Using 1 currency would unite the world but the drawbacks could be we still have people at the top holding all the power.  We would have no way to compete with the powers at the top this way it seems.  I think its better we have multiple cryptos but maybe BTC at 70% dominance.

If ronaldo stayed they would have won the league pretty much every season since (maybe only losing out a couple times).  You have to remember ronaldo wasn't even at his full powers at united, they used him as more of a winger.
1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: R.I.P. ChangeTip on: December 02, 2016, 04:09:09 PM
Such a shame Changetip is closing, let's hope the opensource the code and it can continue!

Maybe somebody already wants it and they were just waiting for it to die so they could take over.  :p Life in the city!

The idea came and went, it was awesome at first, people finally thought we had the killer bitcoin app.  In the end it seemed it was more bitcoiner mass adoption than new blood mass adoption.  A universal tipping bot is needed though always.
1895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: /r/btc is Now Just as Censored as /r/bitcoin lol on: December 02, 2016, 04:00:30 PM

I'd stick with r/bitcoin but i only quickly visit to see whats the most popular topics and then im out, its more like a news paper vs a community feel.  r/btc is just the same but with more trolls and less overall people Grin
1896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 02, 2016, 03:47:05 PM
Manchester City vs Chelsea : both teams having great results lately and this match not want to lose this because it will be crucial points for getting top of the table now Both teams have some problems in defense due to injured defenders so I expect an interesting clash with goals from booth teams.

What you will see is chelsea play it real tight and city with most of the possession.  I dont see above 2.5 goals tbh, 1-0 or 1-1 game.  They both have replacement defenders but its how the teams play that will make it tight. We will see.
1897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you want to become Rich you need to Put Higher bets on: November 30, 2016, 09:39:36 PM
Is it really true that if someone want to earn big from gambling he need to make a higher bets? Yes he can also loose but if he is lucky enough he can earn big amounts too. People can not make profits with lower bet amounts like .05 etc. you need a higher amounts bets.

Actually, betting more is more likely to lead to poverty than wealth!  LOL  One should never wager more then the odds and the expected return suggest.  Bankroll management is the most vital skill to master if one wants to take gambling seriously.  It is especially a bad idea to bet more when the odd are not in one's favor.....BAD IDEA!
This is correct the problem is in all casino games the odds are against us and there are only a few games where you can have the odds in your favor like in poker.
better to bet low amount but win it slowly , steady and consistently.

rather than to gamble on high amount and lost it in just first shot , it is hurts. nothing easy to become rich especially in gambling , there is a lot of challenges and yes to be able to bet low amount and win consistently you need to have a bankrollmanagement skill.

More importantly is being +ev and then your bankroll management just means you are like 99.99% chance of not going broke.  It doesn't mean you will make money quick though, that depends on lady luck still.
1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: November 30, 2016, 09:37:40 PM

Coutinho out with injury and he is the most important player for liverpool.  I would see a change of fortune from now for them so wouldn't bet on them for the league anymore.  Overall i still think you have to go with city.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which gambling sites have 0% house edge? on: November 29, 2016, 07:00:41 PM
Looks like what u have said has no fundamental difference with what I said. Not sure why did u say You're close, but not quite right either?

Because you said that a X% house edge means the house has X% more chance of winning than the player. However, that's not quite true in the generic case.

Let's say I want to 10x my money on PrimeDice. I have a 9.9% chance of winning, and the house has a 90.1%. That corresponds to a 1% house edge, even though the house has a +80.2% more win chance.

So it's better to think of house edge as "how much expected profit will the casino make" divided by the size of the player bet.
Yep. U r right. We can not make a statement like X% house edge means the house has X% more chance of winning than the player. I stand corrected. The statement should be...

A 0% house edge game is just 1% more likely to go bankrupt than a 1% house edge game.

Actually depends on the max bet sizes a site will allow.  A 1% house edge site with a 40 BTC max bet is more likely to go broke vs a 1% house edge site with a 20 BTC max bet.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: November 29, 2016, 06:56:47 PM
Hull City will be facing Newcastle and i would consider betting for Newcastle as they are in top of the division and their form is excellent in EFL as well but the safest bet would be under 2.5 goals.

Easy bet for newcastle win if they are interested in the cup games.  Their league form is excellent and if they got in rafa sooner they'd stil be in the prem.
