1881  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Manipulation on Peek - What You think ? on: June 17, 2023, 07:30:56 AM
I don't think everytime a coin goes down then it has to be the whales, No!!

A few years back when we had bounties paying handsomely,  you would find that whenever these guys got paid and chose to sell, a market dip was felt without the so called whales lifting a finger...which tells me sometimes its not always them but the small retail traders making small moves with big impacts and that's one characteristic of cryprocurrencies!

And besides, markets are never keep going up like a tree growing, sometimes it will dip because buying and selling is continuously happening more like a tag of war, whoever wins commands the market direction for that moment .

1885  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Equal society is possible.... on: June 16, 2023, 04:06:14 PM
Theoretically speaking yes it's possible,  but like Karl Marx  believes, that profit minded influence could be the source of this inequality!
You can imagine we have people all over the world willing to do anything for a few bucks and this also brings in the element of Master slave relationship which distorts the possibility of equality.

And the fact that society has allowed certain places, things to be only available to a certain class of people, equality can never be archived all thanks to this thing called money...unless you live in a communist environment.
1886  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fibonacci Tool and Price Action. on: June 16, 2023, 01:15:48 PM
Hey friends!!

I am a long-term trader who do not have any expertise. My plan is to buy at a low and sell at a high, but it takes a lot of time and patience,
Patience is the name of the game when it comes to trading , and just so you know, the most profitable traders don't take a lot of trades in a month...if you can make anything from 1% to 10% of your portfolio in a year this is a lot.

As for the long waiting times, you can try use the lower time frames on a chart to see more trades and just buy or sell from there.

so I decided to start short term trading. My friend told me that using the Fibonacci tool in conjunction with price action is the most successful trading method. I'm attempting to investigate and learn about it. Can someone suggest a good instructional video or book to help me learn both?

Thank you!!
It all goes with your strategy, on the Fib using the 0.786 for entry its quite effective if you ask me, but remember structure is king!
1887  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-06-14] Bitcoin’s Future Amid SEC Scrutiny and Federal Reserve Rate Hike on: June 16, 2023, 08:44:55 AM
Someone explain how SEC is doing so much damage to price right now when these guys are confined in the jurisdiction they are based which is the USA were Coinbase and Binance have being found with a case to answer Huh

Just joining the dots together,  what will happen should the SECs move backfire??
TBH  this is a double edged sword that can also move in favor of Bitcoin should this suing not go as planned and am hoping it doesn't so that BTC gets bullish after this...
1888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is This the End of Crypto? This U.S. Congressman Hopes So... on: June 16, 2023, 07:43:09 AM
From this, it's safe to assume people like Congressman Brad Sherman are the people pushing the SEC to do what its currently doing...

I even wonder if such people have taken a moment to find what good cryprocurrencies serve in today's world, Unlike having a biased opinion about it having to be used by criminals.

Btw Hope with all this, I hope they know that Bitcoin does not have on/off switch...once it goes online, it's on forever thanks to its decentralized nature.
1889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Received Email from Localbitcoins on: June 16, 2023, 07:28:58 AM
Today I received an email from local Bitcoins (no-reply@localbitcoins.com) and they are reminding me to withdraw the funds and some terms being applied to the account from 16 April.
Is it worth checking just incase you forgot that you had sent some coins to your local Bitcoins account or somebody airdropped some coins to your wallet...

Btw all things considered,  these reminders are part of the winding up process, and this is just procedure for them.

I have no funds left there but still, I got this email. Do everyone who had an account in Localbitcoin got this mail today?

They have closed the service since 16-Feb-2023, why do people still have funds there?

Email is here:-
Quote
Snip
They might have shutdown months ago ,but my guess is that this is a generic email that is being sent to everyone so that should that grace period to withdraw come to an end, they are free to keep whatever bitcoins these accounts  hold.

Btw I think this is how most of the crypto  platforms close  down, if memory saves me right this should have been the same way directbet wound down.
1890  Economy / Gambling / Re: vbetFTN.com | Leading Online Gambling Operator | 🎰 on: June 15, 2023, 07:13:06 PM
Gave vbetFTN sportsbook a test run after winning a few dollars from the casino and I loved the markets, generous cashout offers and generally the overall experience.

But unfortunately, on my way to getting to the vbetFTN platform, I just realized there is another  vbet domain without the "FTN" that looks and operates exactly the same as this one and after several attempts trying to log in I noticed this difference ( Hope I wasnt phished) and switched to vbetFTN and just wanted to get clarity if that's also a genuine mirror site of yours Huh

And if it is, why didn't I get to login into that platform? What are the differences between the two...
1891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 15, 2023, 04:24:08 PM
I would have easily said not the perfect gift for a wife!

But then again, we can not profile every wife to be in this bracket as everyone has their own unique interests, habits, likes  and what not...and Bitcoin being a type of money this wouldn't be a bad gift for the tech savvy women, unlike those that are just into posh cars ,clothes, diamonds etc
But in this time and age its unfortunate most still do not not know what this is all about, but it should be worth a try to see if the women know about cryprocurrencies such as Bitcoin  Smiley

1893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - how low will we go in 2023? on: June 15, 2023, 11:58:57 AM
I bought the other day and we have seen yet another crash since then it feels like there is so much bad news and FUD at the moment.
Am guessing the bad news you are referring to here has to do with SEC suing Binance and Coinbase, but if you ask me this was inevitable! When it comes to the US markets their is some much regulation going on here and very few of our excahanges can survive especially that crypto users love their freedom which exchanges can not guarantee in such an environment.

I feel like having a break as I am starting to feel we could go close to the lows of last year, not sure if we will go that low but could go close so thinking of waiting until we see at least another 10% drop to buy more.

How is everyone else feeling?
But if you look at market price, Bitcoin has performed well despite all this..would have been worse and for this I don't see price going any lower. For now price will keep ranging/ consolidating until it generates enough liquidity it can use as fuel to make new highs.

We are still on the right path, better days are yet to come.

As I'm typing Netherlands ties the game, unpredictable is an understatement. Grin Grin Grin Grin
I hate this game the Netherlands keeps playing, hope they pack their bags and wait for 3rd and 4th playoffs!

Well well well.....Croatia is up currently, that fight of the smaller Nation is fierce. Grin Grin Grin
this is good news for me  Grin as I had the Netherlands to go through and both teams to score - No, honestly I love this outcome knowing very well my rival (mv1986) was going to get green here should the Netherlands have won but now we all settle for no point Tongue.

Talking of the smaller nations fight, am looking at the question 9 column of the BSL spreadsheet, its pretty much clear that this result is an upset as most of us expected them to get into the finals, but guess football keeps showing us how unpredictable it can be at times...

Can the Netherlands pull a comeback in the dying minutes of the game, I doubt it...6 minutes of added time to go.
1896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 14, 2023, 08:00:19 PM
while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.
The fact that I understand that the only person with full access to my crypto coins is me..I don't mind to keep playing , unlike having money kept at a bank where third-parties have access to it and can lock me out too...With
All things considered  am definitely going to keep playing on my favorite crypto platforms because govt was nowhere when crypto was establishing itself .

And as long as I know that with VPNs, tor browsers and other ways of Masking my footprint will keep my identity unknown, am not giving up on crypto because of a government ban, besides...I  the govt is protecting their interests in fiat and am protecting my financial freedom that exists digitally.
1897  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whoever gives me a satisfactory answer receives... on: June 14, 2023, 07:14:34 PM
I think the warning relates to the previous sentence about how stalkers including investigators can usually more easily identify addresses connected to an exchange wallet (especially if it's KYCed). The large number of transactions from exchanges can be a conclusive reason that the coins are actually still under the same ownership.
Kind of makes sense...

But of the two transactions, that is
  • sending coins all in one transaction
  • or having to split your transaction in multiple of them, which one has a high chance of compromising one's identity
I thought all have an equal chance of masking your identity and making it difficult for transaction stalkers to find ones identity, and especially  if wallet addy is a one time use only I strongly believe would have a tough time to make a successful tx analysis.
1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 14, 2023, 04:34:13 PM
Lol, now it would be funny if you guys knew how I was scrolling through the past Vegas Knights results and thought, well, they do have games here and there when they score 5 or more, but this game is so important and the Panthers will resist, could very likely end in a 4:2. But a 9:3 I can't even recall I saw a result like that when I checked the results of their last season games.

But whatever, @Woodie and I agreed on this one so no points for anyone Wink

But we have a number of different answers @Woodie, which makes it quite interesting. Hopefully not another draw for me again.

Good luck!
Unbelievable result to be honest,  especially that the previous 2 games were low scoring I was more than sure this trend would continue...a but seems  Vegas Knights had different plans for game 5 to end the Panthers fight of a comeback.

Good thing you chose the same result as me, that was a close one...off to the Nations cup and hoping to have better luck here Wink

What about me?!! I am 2nd in classment

You finished the round 1 with 1 point. You are nowhere near the bonus rewards Grin
I remember you explaining how bonus rewards are calculated to me somewhere here on the thread, maybe this should be include in the first page for everyone to get clarity and help everyone know if they they won a freebet.
1899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful and don’t promote a scam campaign on: June 14, 2023, 12:17:33 PM
If it has been established that a company or project is a scam with proof and all, then best course of action is not to wear such a signature as doing so would allow the scam to grow further affecting other members of the forum who might not be aware of whats really happening with a  company or project .

But unfortunately seems users don't mind crossing the red tape for a few pieces of silver which might look okay, but this isn't only one user benefiting , it's other users being negatively affected and potential of losing out..So basically the negative effects of supporting a scam site outweighs an individuals benefit which is why these cases are against promoters of a scam site.
