Champions league continues being unpredictable after seeing clear favourites failing to get easy wins Roll Eyes

Inter Milan very disappointing...

Galatasaray another disappointing match, only to force a draw from 2 goals down..they should have lost!

Sevilla fair performance especially knowing that they aren't having a great run at the moment...

United kind of shocked me especially that they managed to get 3 goals against Bayern..from their own backyard,  guess Bayern is still trying to put their act together otherwise this should have been a 6-1 beating.

1165  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you had AI day trade bitcoin to make profits on: September 20, 2023, 10:39:33 PM
The thing about AI is that it uses information that is in the public domain, and if this trading strategy can be found easily on the internet means it doesn't work and am pretty sure most people are looking for such a holy grail of trading  Roll Eyes & why would someone put a working strategy out in the open when they can use this secret strategy to download money in silence ??

The fact that there is money on the line, I wouldn't trust a bot to do the trading on my behalf,  I would feel safer if I was at the wheel!!
1166  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: September 20, 2023, 08:50:16 PM
We all wish life was easier, but it's not so we've got to make do with what we have.

The degree you want, the career you want, and the business you dream to have won't come easy. I'm of the notion that life doesn't want you to succeed. If you run away from every obstacle then you will never achieve your goal.
Life was never meant to be easy agreed, especially if we go by the theory of Natural Selection that says only the strong shall survive which is unfortunate for many...but then again the rules of survival when it comes to us humans seems to have changed as you can easily inherent wealth from family that can put you in a better position than you were..but if this isn't available to you work hard to give yourself a serving chance.

I keep seeing forum members make complaints about not getting merits and all. It will be very hypocritical of me to say we shouldn't care about merit and ranking up, but your desire to rank up should lead you in the right direction.
I don't get the connection between merit and life tbh because the merit system is quite complex as it goes to show which users are technical,  informative,  entertaining,  belong to a clique etcetera unlike life which has a blueprint of what one needs to do to succeed...

1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paxos recovers its $500,000 'fat finger' Bitcoin transaction fee on: September 20, 2023, 04:24:34 PM
Looking at the nature of the transaction , coins were sent with an overpaid transaction fee, but seeing f2pool refunded this fee does this mean this transaction cost Paxos zero satoshis  Roll Eyes or maybe some special deal was made and btw, what of the cost of energy consumed during the mining process is this not to be factored in??

I wonder how this transaction would have gone had a private miner mined this block with the ~$500k
1169  Economy / Economics / Re: How to reduce the price of goods on: September 20, 2023, 11:26:34 AM
I have been thinking and trying to analyze what is really causing the high cost of food in Nigeria, I came to realize that monopoly is the major factors, Nigeria government are the enablers. How can one person be the sole major distributor, government should welcome competition in the business sector, every business person should be allowed to produce.
When you talk of government involvement and how its handling the economy, you make this sound like the country is run as a socialist economy of which my research disagrees...

And from my research I also found that Nigeria is built
around a mixed economy which I found strange as this means there is so much government interference should we lean towards a free market economy in trying  to stimulate supply to counter the high prices of commodities.

Btw, Nigeria has been named to be among the fastest growing economy's today which means demand is very high and some business houses could be artificially limiting their supply in an effort to push price up, and if no one is putting an end to this bad practice then it's difficult to keep prices low...and monopoly being a problem boarders around the lack of capacity to compete with these big names hence entry barriers exist and this will remain as is because the small businesses/startups lack the capital to challenge the whales.
1170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Elon Musk keep what he said or not? on: September 20, 2023, 07:21:42 AM

Before I comment on the Elon Musk effect, let me start by saying this is a good tweet but it also leaves room for it to be easily misinterpreted especially the line that reads " Bitcoin is consuming more sustainable energy in its mix" this line kind of makes it sound like the crypto industry is wasting valuable energy which can be directed elsewhere were it's needed the most... and feel these guys should choose crypto friendly words that won't hurt the market!

Over 50% is said to be the energy source used in Bitcoin mining, which means this is positive news for bitcoin. Because if Elon Musk fulfills his promise that Tesla will accept Bitcoin again for payment, there is a very high chance that the price value of Bitcoin will rally due to the strength of Elon Musk's influence in an industry like this. Is that the type of tweet that is positive for Bitcoin?
Definitely positive news but I have noticed that the Elon Musk effect is short term because it's usually speculative in nature which losses momentum quite easily, and at the moment we don't mind small or big wins as this counts as a win for the crypto market.

1171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please review my inheritance strategy on: September 20, 2023, 07:04:21 AM
"24 word seed phrase" and "numerical index" all to the same person  Roll Eyes honestly this is a two edged sword that could mean someone from the receiving parties might have full knowledge of cryptocurrencies and act selfish by choosing to sweep the wallets without the other person knowing because they had no interest with crypto or don't have the knowledge of what to do with the crypto inheritance...which could defeat the initiative!

I think crypto being a valuable asset, why not go with a bank, or use a lawyer to facilitate the inheritance process or better yet educate the receiving parties what they will be receiving and what to do with them without having to rely on thirdparties which is a cost effective option too.

Trofo and cryptofrka I cant see my name in spreadsheet and I am sure I sent all answers on time day before.
When I visit question link it is showing that I already responded.
Do you know whats up with that?

#40 General group I can see your name, and from the look of things seems you only submitted answers to the "general group stage questions" and not the "round 1 questions " as two forms were to be completed!

Spreadsheet with your answers can be found here.

Anybody watching Newcastle game? Does not look good for them so far, Milan is a much better team and I don't know how they didn't score already. Maybe that is a chance for Newcastle to surprise them in second half.

✋️Am watching the game 👀 and your analysis  is right on the money!!

From what I can see Newcastle are intimidated by the competition as can be seen from the free flow of Milan, and their strikers are all having a go at Nick Pop who really has been the difference to keep The Magpies from chasing the game.

Btw anybody considering putting a bet in the second half should be looking at anytime goal scorer from these 3 gentlemen Leao, Giroud, Chukwueze as they have had an impressive 1st half !!!

Inplay Prediction AC Milan 1- 0 Newcastle

1175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Let's share some tips among ourselves. on: September 19, 2023, 03:49:16 PM
What criteria do you use when buying and selling? Let's share some tips and expertise.
The most effective of them all for the biggest profits is the use of technical analysis combined with broker leverage, but this comes at the cost of being liquidated should the markets go against you and the downside of this strategy is that it isn't beginner friendly!

But if you are for the idea of trading with technical analysis then best to remove the leverage and buy/sell without the risk of being liquidated and profits are slow and steady.

For me, the three most significant factors are as follows:
1. Bitcoin halving.
Tbh, I thought targeting the halving was the holy grail of trying to maximize profits , but unfortunately, the effects of this take way too long to be realized for us retail traders to consider this strategy...unless you are a whale or something that doesn't mind a 5% , 10% raise because the profits aren't some small numbers!
1176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What did you do After Reaching your Bitcoin Goal? on: September 19, 2023, 12:02:55 PM
The only crypto goal I had was based on getting to 21 bitcoins the DCA way (though this term wasn't used at the time),  this was a challenge in one of the threads here on the forum some few years back, and having had to start to save when crypto prices were below a thousand dollars seemed very much possible but in the process btc price jumped to $10k and before you knew it was already floating around $20k and my saving plan was completely distorted which pushed me to learn how to trade on charts and abandon the bitcoin saving plan  Roll Eyes

I chose for Bayern Munich to hammer ManU
Well played  Cool

With all the confusion going on at Manchester united...
I really see them as the weakest team here based on the fact the team isn't mentally invested, key players missing ,  lads haven't found their confidence mojo & those lads are just playing as individuals and not as a team.
Btw I expect Kane to make his mark this evening as he returns to England  bearing gifts  Tongue but then again there is just something about champions league football that brings the best out of a team, hence I advice to proceed with caution.

and also on someone else, I do not remember exactly because I cannot see the results. Maybe it was Real Madrid or Arsena
My guess, Real Madrid..the champions league destroyers Roll Eyes
1178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They sent me btc to my wallet they were available and then they disappeared! on: September 19, 2023, 07:34:38 AM
When you say they coins disappeared, do you mean you can't see your coin from your wallet dashboard or coins can not be seen on address even after using an explorer??

If coins disappeared from wallet dashboard try resyncing it as this is something normal if wallet isn't oftenly used...but if coins don't even show up on an explorer unfortunately your contact might have pulled a fast one on you.

If the transaction was visible for a full day and then it disappeared, that means the other party used a very low fee, because most normal fees would make the transaction confirmed within a few hours max.
One of the disadvantages of bitcoin >>>"RBF" which is a good and bad feature about having this feature as it makes double spending so easy.

With the current low transaction fees do we still have transactions taking all day to get confirmed thought such a tx should be confirmed within a few hours at the most.

False marketing is deceiving buyers
This here 👆👆 seems like a major characteristic of altcoins!!!

And it's funny that of the two camps between Bitcoin and altcoins...you will only find these altcoins doing the heavy lifting of deceiving new entrants to this industry with all sorts of marketing tactics like airdrops, token burns, new technologies to try and overshadow the old timer bitcoin, but am sure we all have heard about the saying "new brooms sweep clean, but old ones know where the dirt is" bitcoin might be the old broom without the new tech but at least it's not headed by selfish devs that just want to make themselves rich with fraudulent marketing tactics and when they get what they want they disappear into thin air and this only happens with ALTs year in year out.
