901  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may not hit $24,750 again in 2023 - I'm bullish till 2024 on: October 29, 2023, 01:13:23 PM
I think we aren't in the clear just yet because the distance between 33k and 24k isn't much for us to say never for 2023, and the fact that we have seen price drop over 5K in a blink of an eye several times in Bitcoins life span shouldn't give us the confidence to be cocky. Btw if price can go up by 5K then it can pretty much go down 5K too, but hoping it stays in the green as we come to the end of the year.

This chart is on the monthly and the anticipated move can actually take years to go back up should it start consolidating or anything in those lines, but with the halving, ETF approval in the pipeline we could see some huge green candles to record a new all time high.
902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anti-Gambling Tools on: October 29, 2023, 08:38:59 AM
Things like daily limits should be put on the player and not the gambling house, am pretty sure we all want them to have certain tools to help control gambling habits but there is  a limit to how far they can help and the rest is up to us to fix our problem's. Besides if gambling is negatively affecting a user, I think self exclusion should be the option to take which I believe most casinos and sportsbooks have.

I'm curious if any of you have faced a similar situation and if there are tools or methods you've found effective in controlling crypto gambling. It feels like most platforms lack daily limits or deposit controls, making it a bit challenging to stay on track.

AFAIK very few have such tools because they try to maximize on how much profits they want to milk from us and will deliberately not want to have them...and will always be a personal effort.
903  Economy / Economics / Re: why super rich pay no tax but suggest giving all their wealth away (eventually) on: October 29, 2023, 06:19:05 AM
I know liabilities like these are good for a business to give the impression of a healthy financial standing, but doesn't servicing a loan mean it's cutting through the companies profits ??
Btw not only can the super rich avoid paying taxes, Businesses have always found legal ways of avoiding paying taxes and this is done by most companies as far as am concerned , but  what's interesting about this is that does this mean these guys don't plan on paying back the loan after such a transaction? And isn't it easy for Capital gains to be applied here with or without the losses as they can  be deducted in case losses are recorded..
904  Economy / Economics / Re: Almost All Countries Affected by Inflation, Opportunity for Bitcoin! on: October 28, 2023, 07:49:47 PM
Am looking at these figures and spotted Zimbabwe who have a fairly good inflation rate than most**surprisingly*... yet we all know these guys are in deep trouble to the point of their local currency being declared redundant and sanctions aren't  doing them any favours at the moment which makes them the perfect candidate to adopt crypto.

And in as much as inflation negatively affects economies, not all counties have been brought to their knees for the same reason, some its war, others natural disasters etc And for those  affected financially I believe Bitcoin can fill that void to allow the continuity in running the affairs of country.

907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: October 28, 2023, 10:19:51 AM
Cro2 just a suggestion, could we get an extra row on the spreadsheet to show winning answers so that for those of us that don't watch or miss out on some of the sports events can know what was the winning combination , hope it's not too much work Smiley

When I looked at the spreadsheet today I must say that a lot of us (especially in the division 1) have 0 correct answers. It's comforting to see that I'm not the only one that got everything wrong.
Lol this sounds funny, but knowing how competitive you can be, you will surely catch your opponent  Roll Eyes

I am happy I have secured first point in new season with perfect 5/5 predictions on Europa League and Conference League.
While some of us are still trying to string together some wins and then we have some sharpshooters getting 5/5... congrats to you and Slissy

910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spirituality and Betting - Do they Have any Connection? on: October 27, 2023, 10:49:16 PM
The fact that gambling has been linked to some kind of greed at times, I don't think we have any religion that welcomes greed as most religions are centred around love and sharing and can't be associated to gambling.

As of the picture above, I honestly think this is blackmail!! This gambler is kind of saying I will keep being a religious person on condition that you give me some kind of favour by winning, which isn't right!!! Let people get into these religious activities for the right reasons not trying to put God to the test...but then again I don't blame them because external factors such as bad economies, bad financial well-being have put them in this awkward position.

913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Mattress Mack" loses nearly 10 million dollars on Astros Loss on: October 27, 2023, 09:43:16 AM
Winning that 75 million dollars back in 2022 could have blinded his judgement, and seeing that he doesn't really bet on favourites tells me that he might miss out on a few bets but it just takes one win to recoup his losses and his back in the green.

Also his love for the Houston Astros could be the problem because he better know that lightening doesn't strike on the same spot twice and needs to have some safe bets once in awhile to cut down on his losses...let him not hold on to the past otherwise he sure is a high roller...
914  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing on: October 27, 2023, 04:12:43 AM
Emotions is a weapon used against traders causing them to move out of a trade untimely which may eventually cost them loss.

How to avoid emotions:
  • set up  a TP(take profit) and SL(stop loss) for your trades
  • Stay away from the particular trade
  • Get in some activity that will keep you busy
  • Do your hubby activities at that moment
  • set up hours interval to check your trade
  • watch tvs and Go for walk Smiley

Note:Some of these might not be applicable if you are into scalping.

Everything that you have pointed out is very much valid & I second, but the first thing that will allow you to apply all these is a tried and tested strategy!!
I say strategy because many of us wouldn't know where to apply the stop loses or where to take profits because our strategy is about guessing or eyeballing the charts which leaves room for emotions to come in and in the end it's nolonger trading but gambling!

Normally emotions are not something you can easily control
Agreed , Especially if one is a losing trader, emotions will be everywhere!!
To be shielded from emotions trade mechanically based on what the strategy says and all the noise and fear will be cancelled out.
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 26, 2023, 06:46:18 PM
People in the gambling world have done some really dumb sh*t and these stories never stop to amuse...and unfortunately in this scenario I know for sure women can do anything for love and am not surprised that this lad used the money for his games, knowing very well that  he gave her a convincing reason to use the funds and will soon be replaced soon and not that he wants to use it for some high risk games and fun... Just hope this couple still made their wedding work with the hurdle at hand.

Don't anybody see this yet that we are having a gambling addiction pandemic. And it is getting worse by the day.
If people risk their life savings for high risk games then we should prepare for the waste, things like suicides, crime, scammers etc will be on the rise as people will try to survive in the name of gambling addiction pandemic!

With such an arising problem, what have these Casinos and sportsbooks done about this if I may ask because this is a serious issue!!
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Man Who Stole Over 51,680 Bitcoin on: October 26, 2023, 05:06:42 PM
I don't know why I like this story but this shows the extent these exchanges can freely give out information to third parties without our consent, and I wonder who else has access to this Information  Tongue Tbh I wish we went back in time where KYC was not a btw just how did this KYC requirements become industry standard for the big exchanges  Roll Eyes

Coming back to this story, I don't buy this idea of a smart guy such as Zhong can steal this lump sum of coins and knows the darkweb can fall for such a silly mistake, why didn't he use a mixer or non KYC exchange...doesn't add up!!!

918  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not Lose Everything Youve Gained in One day, or One Trade on: October 25, 2023, 09:53:34 PM
Crypto trading is not for the faint hearted reading all these stories we read about trading, and it's unfortunate your buddy was caught up in a bad trade, imagine what would have happened had that trade gone his way...it would mean next time he might be twice as confident and would have lost more money !!! If you ask me its good that it happened now for him/her to use risk management in his trading.

Secondly to trade Altcoins takes a special skill to be profitable because these are easy to manipulate as they have low liquidity...and to avoid losses go for high liquid trades to avoid being used as the liquidity.

Lastly experience is the best teacher and it's good he went through this class to be more prudent, good luck to our friend hope he recovers his losses...
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: October 25, 2023, 09:03:25 PM
If there is something I hate about champions League football is that if you want goals, goals won't come and this implies to the Newcastle vs Dortmund, maybe the weather conditions put them at a disadvantage but this is their home turf and can't pull this excuse...

For those of us out on the hunt for the big odds unfortunately this Matchday didn't have big upsets and maybe will have to wait till next month for another go  Cry
920  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2023 end game sentiment check on: October 25, 2023, 08:14:02 PM
Wanted to go for the new all time high but realised we are nowhere near the all time high of 70K but if we spoke of the new high of 2023... I would say very much possible especially now when price has the momentum and everyone is ignoring the hoax of an approved Bitcoin spot ETF that sparked all this green move...I can only imagine how far price would go had the approval been actually been real Roll Eyes

Otherwise from the poll will settle for the "Prices are random" knowing very well prices could go down or up any second...
