After consulting with minerpart I will report these threats to blackmail and extort money from companies on Bitcointalk to an FBI Field Office.

We believe a crime has already been committed, but if this poster actually proceeds to Troll because no money has been paid to him, then certainly things will be serious enough for an investigation.

I will start a thread to collate the relevant posts and if anyone sees any Trolling from the member 'pankkake' after today can you please quote them on the thread which I will link to here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344208.msg3687965#msg3687965

This is a terrible idea. I think it can be filled under "wasting police time" and that can come with hefty fines.

EDIT: there wouldn't be much FUD if the workings of the company weren't left up to everyones imagination.  Especially when important dates are near / passing

+1

Since this is so one sided, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride with us.

Ok.

Aaaargh a troll tried to worry me, panic selling my shares at 0.01 BTC each...

Where are you selling shares?

Are you serious? That was sarcasm....

You sympathize with trolls,

You believe VE,

You have what seems like daily mood swings on if ActM is doing good or bad,

I recommend you take a break as this project has taken it's toll on you, go with VE and get a bearclaw!

Well we have what is essentially a knowledge vacuum and no one actually has any idea what this company is up to. And yeah VE got me, I believed the little shit.

Nice try. Clever. But I'm onto you and you have just proved my point. Kiss

Yawn...
1947  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Zerocoin proofs reduced by 98%, will be released as an alternative coin. on: November 22, 2013, 09:44:11 AM
Could a Bitcoin developer clarify whether these changes make Zerocoin appropriate for inclusion in Bitcoin or not? As far as I understand it the privacy provided by things like CoinJoin and CoinSwap aren't really comparable.
Until they release details (ie a paper or source code) on what they are actually going to do, that's impossible to do.

My understanding was that the size of the proofs was the primary hurdle to implementation. Is that true?

Yes, when the original paper was released the main point to dismiss zerocoin was the size of the transactions and the strain that would cause on the blockchain.

A friend of mine talked to someone from eASIC today and I have some information I would like to share with key people in this thread.  Very disturbing actually.. more details tomorrow, not sure how much i want to share publically at this point until we make some necessary phone calls
1949  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 22, 2013, 08:50:14 AM
For once the word "FUD" would be accurate but no one uses it.

What is wrong with you people  Sad

I use it evertime drawingthefud makes a post. Hes the best fudster ive ever seen apart from myself on Labcoin.

Erm, have you seen the conversation mate? VE just claimed that something has gone seriously wrong at eASIC and that was what Pankkake was referring too.

If you are moving that much money it is time to talk to an accountant.

1952  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 22, 2013, 03:42:07 AM
Why would VE tell us this? This man is purely focused on getting a return on his 50k Shares (not that this is a bad thing at all). If I had insider information about eAsic, knew Ken was in a huge hurry to get us on an exchange, and want to make my money back. I would sit back relax and wait for that exchange. Then after I sold for a healthy profit, drop the information and if there was still profit to be made in having stock in the company then I would buy up cheap shares. There is no reason VE would share quality information with us imho.

Actually this makes a lot of sense. Thanks Jo.

VE is being a dipshit.

If we can't trade shares what benefit it there to VE talking bullshit?

Although you're probably right and once again I am getting worked up about nothing.

Going for another walk.
1954  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 22, 2013, 03:38:35 AM
Yo you are the most subtle troll I've ever seen. No normal person would buy this shit.

VE comes here telling us something is wrong at eASIC, so I speculate the worst case possibilities. I am not trolling but instead freaking out, there is a difference.
EDIT: What can he be talking about? He can't find out information about the contract itself, so it has to be something else. Delays maybe?
1955  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 22, 2013, 03:25:39 AM
They just raised $23.5 to expand their operations in the US and Europe.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/09/ca-easic-idUSnBw095707a+100+BSW20130909

I am just trying to think about the possible things VE is talking about.

Lets assume none of the eASIC employee will leak information about particular contracts, so what could it be?

Perhaps knowledge that 28nm experimental development will be several months behind schedule?

I have no idea, VE should really voice his concerns. No one can trade stock at the moment so there can't even be panic sells so he should just come out with it.

A friend of yours talked to a friend of his that just so happens to work for eASIC and you have the inside scoop on the status of a contract under NDA...

It might not be contract related, if the news is that eASIC is about to go bankrupt then what can we do?
1957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Honor Of Ross "The Dread Pirate Roberts" Ulbricht on: November 22, 2013, 02:50:52 AM
The guy seems to be a egocentric maniac.

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2013/11/ross-ulbricht-loses-bail/

Quote
He predicted, however, that 2011, he would be “a year of prosperity and power beyond what I have ever experienced before,” adding that “Silk Road is going to become a phenomenon and at least one person will tell me about it, unknowing that I was its creator.”

It seems he kept a journal where he constantly wrote about himself. He was certainly in self love.

I am not sure he was even sincere in DPR's "ideals" or if it was just the ego speaking.

EDIT:

Add this one: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2013/11/feds-say-silk-road-suspects-computer-shows-he-thought-he-plotted-6-murders/

It seems the journal was to keep track of things related to the site too, but lots of entries obsessed with his power and legacy.
1958  Economy / Securities / Re: ActiveMining Overview and Speculation Thread on: November 22, 2013, 02:20:04 AM

You have many cats and you call other men "dear".  I'm picturing the most loneliest, biggest flaming homo imaginable.  Incredible... lol
I see now why you troll stocks that you aren't even invested in.  Sad Sad

How do you know crumbs is a dude?

Haha have you ever been to a bitcoin meetup...

Lets just say Crumbs has a 95% chance of being a dude.

"Lets only sell when we have to" we have the most safest way of maximising the value of those coins.

Sure. All of my posts have been based on the notion that we do need to sell these holding within the next month or so to finance chip runs.

If we don't need to do that they may be worth more in 6months than today agreed. But that is the point I made. The last time we had a new high it took a full 6 months to get back there ($260). If we can't afford to hold these coins for up to 6months then we need to sell them at the best price in the mean time. So to see when you will get the best price you should look at the chart and at BTC developments/news. So I'm looking at the chart.

Fair enough. I feel like we both have somewhat valid positions, and if the price goes batshit and drives past $2,000 I would not hold the coins I have left personally. But when dealing with company money it's a lot of responsibility. I guess it comes down to how Ken feels in predicting when the true crash will be. Is there a thread in the speculation forum that Ken can follow?
1960  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 21, 2013, 05:18:56 PM
Why? Because day trading loses money

I agree largely with that. But I'm not suggesting day-trading with ACtM holdings. Not at all. I'm just saying that when price is swinging by 40%+ per day and you have 1.4k BTC to convert you need to pick the right time.

We are talking differences of up to $500,000 when converting 1.4k BTC at a price of $600 or $240

We can't know for sure where the price is heading. The only thing true of Bitcoin price so far is that over the long term it has traditionally increased. So by taking the only true thing about the Bitcoin price so far and using that to establish: "Lets only sell when we have to" we have the most safest way of maximising the value of those coins. Even though selling high could make us $500,000 more. I suggest that risk is not worth the gain, because the chance that holding ends up the better choice will be more often that not.

The above is just based on my observations.
