1961  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Here on: March 28, 2015, 05:39:18 AM
I didnt see an introductions section or a new members section so i figured meta would have to do.

I'm new here, obviously. New to bitcoin, and just getting started learning.

Was hoping someone could give me the short version about this bitcoin stuff.

This is what I read when I started with Bitcoin : https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started
It's short and nicely explains everything.

Welcome to forum. You should read sticky threads first. Beginners & Help board would be a nice start.
Check newbie readme here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0

Hey Thanks for the link !!!!!

So from what i gathered from that thread was.....

Dont trust people
Dont trust paypal
Dont use bitcoin
Dont keep your wallet on a computer that is online

&

Tysat either has a great sense of humor or is very sarcastic.

On the up side, i found that there is a newbie section so maybe i can get more info there. Thanks for that, i couldn't find a newbie section to start with.

Where did you gathered that from??
1962  Other / Politics & Society / Re: if cryptocurency is outlawed by all governments does that make it more valuable? on: March 28, 2015, 05:24:13 AM
No it will lose it's value since it will become hard for users to find others who use the same currency and are willing to trade goods or services for it.
1963  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins.com minimum amount to exchange on: March 28, 2015, 05:17:23 AM

But OP reported that LBC won't let him open a trade.

No as they want me to have 0.4 BTC in my Localbitcoin account to open a trade. The difference in my country is about $20 less if I sell the BTC.

There are 2 way to sell BTC on LBC, 1 is you yourself make an advertisement that you want to sell BTC and 2 is you search for buyers (who have their advertisement open) and they're looking to buy BTC.

Which method are you using OP? I think the 2nd method won't have any minimum and you can sell if the buyer is willing to buy a small amount.

I haven't traded there in a while so I don't know if they have modified the rules for the second method also.

I tried the second method of searching for users who were buying BTC but they are offering $20 less than the market price for 1 BTC and when I tried opening my own trade and advertising it, they said you need to have minimum 0.4 BTC in your account to post a new trade.

Is there any other exchange website which allows users to list their BTC without any limitation?

It depends on what country are you from. I think the best way for you would be to just try and see if you can find a buyer in the forum itself, the Currency Exchange section. You can open a thread with how much you're looking to sell and what payment options you accept and most probably someone will buy it for better price than LBC. Do use escrow to be safe though.
1964  Economy / Gambling / Re: [POLL] So.. How's your Gambling journey so far? on: March 28, 2015, 05:11:01 AM

Let me help you with that. Just practice imitating this face in-front of the mirror and you'll be master of poker-face in a few days.

Haha thats quite funny. I agree, I could never play it in real life, its way too easy to read someones face. You can easily keep a straight face, but one VERY small movement in their lips, eyes, hands, could instantly tell you if they are lying or not given you have enough practice doing so and experience in trying to detect this. The internet takes the calling bluff aspect out of this.

Yeah it does and it's not the same at all, I play live table sometimes (rarely though like once a week) and it's completely different and so much better than on-line ones. After playing a few times you get a sort of reading about certain players like what they do differently when they have an actual hand and when they're bluffing.

1965  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins.com minimum amount to exchange on: March 27, 2015, 02:42:03 PM
No, for selling its still the same as before, completely depends on the buyers in the market. But if you wish to set up a trade through an advertisement, then the minimum amount required is 0.4 BTC.

But OP reported that LBC won't let him open a trade.

1966  Economy / Services / Re: DADICE.com Signature Campaign - The BEST Yet | HIGHEST RATES! | JOIN THE FUN! on: March 27, 2015, 02:36:45 PM
Adding the reflink might actually be worth it. I got around 1 referral each week though no one played. I didnt await this since i dont write much but someone might get lucky when referring a big player. So advertisers might consider this. Especially our massive posters... Wink

You know what you're right, I think I am gonna add mine and see how it goes. Maybe as you said I'll get lucky and a big player will register using my link and start betting like 100 bitcoins or something. I wonder how much would I get then? Cheesy

Edit: Just checked the OP to see would it break any rule but no it's allowed.

No phone verification, Highest payouts, Completely transparent, Independent trusted escrow, Payout to ANY address, Referral link allowed - Unlimited earning potential, Weekly payments,.....
1967  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you use PayPal to convert Bitcoins? on: March 27, 2015, 10:46:32 AM
Exchanging BTC for Paypal is like throwing your BTC away because when the other person charges back his Paypal funds you'll be left with nothing!

I don't use Paypal and I will never use it to convert any of my BTC period.
And I'd advice you to do the same.
1968  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it safe to keep your coins in Bitstamp? on: March 27, 2015, 10:41:33 AM
With all the hacks happening around, I'd advise you not to. Just use it as an exchange, go their do the trade and get out. Don't use it as a wallet.
1969  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins.com minimum amount to exchange on: March 27, 2015, 09:58:52 AM

The site on my country has a minimum difference of around 15 dollars. Can't you just trade it for the selling price, which will be 15$ lower than the price to set up trade. 0.1 BTC will cost you only 1.5 dollar

No as they want me to have 0.4 BTC in my Localbitcoin account to open a trade. The difference in my country is about $20 less if I sell the BTC.

This is something I have never heard of. Did LBC started doing this recently?

I have seen people sell as low as 0.05 on LBC without any problems. You only have to find a buyer that's willing to buy small amounts and that's all.
1970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is this possible on: March 27, 2015, 09:51:23 AM
Yes blockchain but now i remember i have a Multibit desktop wallet in my Linux at home.

I found where this hijacking is being done,have to uninstall google chrome, many malware sitting in the mystartpage in there.

By the way the guy that did sarcasm, lol i love that and you are absolutely right but what can i do. I guess they know my new wallet created so i am sticking to Multibit for now.

Can Multibit send and receive bitcoins cause i do this a lot daily???

I would suggest you do a clean install of windows or whatever operating system you use and ofcourse install some security softwares. Make sure to take back-up of your keys before re-installing the OS as it would delete everything.

And yes, Multibit can do both. You can also take a look at other desktop wallets such as Electrum.
1971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Price Checker Sites? on: March 27, 2015, 08:55:49 AM
Use this one: http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/main/priceBoxes

I use it myself, it lists almost all the coins.
1972  Economy / Gambling / Re: http://crypto-games.us .... Legit site? on: March 27, 2015, 08:47:44 AM
Can you please remove this post. Site crypto-games.us is down and not working. I got freaking scared when I typed crypto-games in search engine, because I play on crypto-games.net a lot and there I don't have any problems with payouts or anything.

So to sum up ... crypto-games.us is not crypto-games.net

Why do you want it removed, at-least this will give a warning to others to not get confuse with the 2 sites as the one OP is talking about seems to be a phishing/scam site.
1973  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cryptoluck.net | Get Random Payout based on txid and block hash on: March 26, 2015, 02:48:29 PM
Just sent 0.001, and lets see how it works?

Honestly I dont understand about the formula  Grin

It's this formula:

Code:
$hash = hash_hmac('sha256', hex2bin($txid), hex2bin($blockid));
$hex = substr($hash, 32, 4);
$dec = hexdec ( $hex );
$multiplier = $dec / 0x8000;

if ($pot_fee > 0 && $multiplier > 1) {
$multiplier = 1 + (($multiplier - 1) * (1.0 - $pot_fee));
}
return round($multiplier);

I don't get it either but hopefully someone more technically advance will be able to verify it.

Your first bet got you 80k Satoshi loss lol. wanna try it again to see how it works?

Send BTC. Get up to 192% back when it confirmed.
<< from the site.

I think this is a Ponzi and it belongs in the Investor-based games section.

it's not ponzi Smiley
i'm not intended to make a ponzi game, i admit it was ponzi site script, but i've modified it to gambling game.
you will get your payout right away after 2 confirmations, you don't have to wait for another player, that's why i put initial game reserve  Grin

How will the system* calculate the bets, how can it be verified?

How does it works ?

  • You simply send BTC to our wallet address and wait for 2 confirmations until it show up and added to our database. Our system will calculate your payout based on your TX ID and Block hash using the formula, so it's pure luck and cannot be cheated, not even me (owner). Your payout will be ranged 20% minimum to 192% maximum of your bet.

1977  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to earn money in bitcointalk.org? on: March 26, 2015, 12:12:16 PM
Earning money on this forum is same as it is elsewhere on the internet. You have to sell services or products and in exchange of that you'll earn some money.
1978  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinDigger.co - Step & Win/Gold Field game with Faucet and +10% to your Deposit! on: March 25, 2015, 05:56:34 PM
Any chance of increasing the amount of  "Pickaxes" ? I think the grid is too large for only 5 Pick axes, at-least 10 should be provided to give user's a fair chance.
1979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [SURVEY/DISCUSSION] What is the most annoying thing for faucet addicts on: March 25, 2015, 05:40:59 PM
I would say anything that breaks their flow, like Pop-ups, Ad-blocker warning, Impossible Captchas.
These are the things that annoyed me when I use to do the faucets, I just wanted to type the captcha and the address as quickly as I could and move on to the next one and things mentioned above were really annoying.

It's best if you ask the visitors to disable their ad-blockers prior to start hitting faucets. GL
1980  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Using Same Bitcoin Address? on: March 25, 2015, 04:43:25 PM
The reasons why some people suggest/use different address for new transaction is to stay anonymous and they feel it's safe to move to an unused Key/address that has never seen the lights of the internet(cold-storage). As long as you can keep your Private Key safe and if you're not worried about others knowing your Bitcoin balance, you can keep using the same address as many times as you want.

For ex. If I were you, I would only keep a very small amount of Btc (less than 1) in the Electrum that stays on-line for my day to day needs and move the rest of my funds to a safer cold storage wallet.
