1963  Bitcoin / Press / 2013-07-08 Announcing Jon Matonis as Executive Director of Bitcoin Foundation on: July 08, 2013, 06:15:40 PM

I want to share some good news; we’re expanding.
As of today, Jon Matonis has accepted my offer to join us as Executive Director of the Bitcoin Foundation. He starts immediately, although he’ll take a few months to ramp up to full time.
This is a coup for the Foundation. I believe Jon’s work experience and passion for Bitcoin will combine into something awesome here. I’m excited!

I thought they were suppose to vote on those positions. I guess they forgot that part.

He seems to be a legit developer of BTC related sites and apps, did you develop/code your site 100% yourself and you own the copyright? or is this guy your programmer? As it is clear he is a web developer.

Your auction seems to not be offering full disclosure?

See here:

http://phauna.org/

He owns a competing service with a scammer Roman from bitfloor so if that doesn't show he is doing a pishing attack then nothing will.

I coded this myself and own everything 100% and if you see he owns a competing service and was trying to phish. I am fully disclosing everything.
1968  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] qcl.me and code included. on: July 07, 2013, 05:01:50 PM
What is this site, a dev site? Will you remove it after close of auction?

http://qcl.phauna.org/

I have no affliation with that site probably just a phishing site.

I am selling the first bitcoin and alt coin address shortener. I have way too much on my plate right now, and can't show this project the support it needs right now. You will get the code (PHP) and database schema (SQL). I am wiping the database for privacy reasons. I will not be disclosing the uniques, or how much the ads generated and has not factored into my reserve. I will also be removing my salt. I will help move it, but no extra coding will be done. If you want to escrow it you have to find and pay the fees. Otherwise you will pay first then you will get the domain and site. Perfect starter bitcoin site.

Bid starts at 1BTC
Bidding Interval of .1 BTC

1972  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where will Bitcoin go on: July 04, 2013, 06:18:15 AM
Unless it crashes and burns like we see atm.

It is highly unlikely, but not impossible. If you think this is a crash and burn then you have a lot to learn. This is far from a crash and burn very far from it, but allows to teach people that they need to hedge.
1973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING! Bitcoin will soon block small transaction outputs on: July 04, 2013, 05:59:18 AM
So I'm not the only one who doesn't want to store thousands of tiny fractions, that are basically unspendable (or at least very expensive to spend) for other people.

It's easy to change online services to make them compatible with this and it can be changed back to a lower limit, if it's reasonable.

Do you guys always pay with $/€/... 0.01 coins?

Scalability & making it less expensive (in terms of storage) to run a full node is more important right now. Well done, Mr. Andresen.

I don't want to store any transaction over 100 coins, they waste space on my hard drive. I hope they block them soon. Scalability isn't an issue in P2P models, and storage is so inexpensive.

Then do so.  You have the freedom.  You also have the freedom of relaying and/or mining 1 satoshi dust too.   Freedom doesn't mean the authoritative hand to force others to do so.

No I don't have the freedom, since miners will still relay the 100BTC transactions, so yeah, not the same thing. Stop using this freedom thing, cause bitcoin has no freedoms anymore. It is pretty much just for greed, everyone wants to make the quick 1BTC here.
1974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "51% actor or botnet could manipulate the source code of the bitcoin network" on: July 03, 2013, 02:36:28 AM

1975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy bitcoins on Nasdaq on: July 02, 2013, 12:19:33 AM
This has no direct effect on bitcoins, but I am happy cause it is a venture capital firm that deals with bitcoin related companies and this should help the economy.
1976  Bitcoin / Press / 2013-07-01 20 Million IPO Of Their ‘Bitcoin Trust’ on: July 01, 2013, 10:47:10 PM

Buckle up, people: We might be closer than ever to our first official Bitcoin IPO.

It was just a couple months back that it emerged that Winklevoss Capital, the investment firm/family trust founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (of early Facebook fame), had bought up approximately one percent of all the outstanding quantity of Bitcoins, the alternative digital currency — a portion that was then worth around $11 million. The firm has gone on to invest in startups that deal exclusively in the Bitcoin space, such as Bitinstant.

This is insane! And amazing, time to hold.

1979  Other / Meta / Re: Banned For Trolling... on: July 01, 2013, 12:39:29 AM
He is clearly ban evading can we just IP ban him and move on from this.

Yeah as far as I know for most ignore functions PMs get through which I think is a daft idea, also JackJack who cares about trolls? They're harmless and sometimes actually quite funny Cheesy, while I think scammers who don't use virus' etc. shouldn't be banned but mocked the ones who try and force their way into the computer are the same as thieves and muggers. You should be concentrating on them, not going around banning people someone said something the others didn't like and if there is no PM ignore function it would be a good idea to put one up too.

Banning people for saying mean things to each other is the kind of thing the people who claim to represent us do and it's pathetic, this is why I'll only now show up on places that have properly working block functions, people have every right to say what they like about me or someone else, doesn't mean I have to read it leaving block functions off just leaves room for all sorts of harassment.

I believe those who are not INTERESTED in bitcoins/alt currencies should be banned on this forum.

I believe stupid beggers and trolls like you should be ban.
After my first ban I never begged again. And I only trolled 2 times INTENTIONALLY on this forum.

So 1 and done theymos get this clown off the forum instead of him taking his ban he is evading this shouldn't be allowed!
1980  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Discussion thread (no advertising here) on: June 30, 2013, 11:38:50 PM
Quick update: Assembled boards will be ready this week, so within 1 to 3 weeks ASICs will be deployed.

I apologize if I can't answer everyone, I receive a huge quantity of messages and I can work or answer, not both. Anyway I will reply to every PM and email as soon as I will finish deploying ASICs in the next days.

I know things went very long and silence is "ugly", but it has been a very hard work.

Thanks for the update, and I think a lot of people don't understand how hard hardware development is, and takes so much time. That is a small percentage do your thing, I know my coins are always safe with you guys Wink
