Accounts with more karma/stats don't carry more weight in conversations or gain more upvotes from posts. Not sure why people are willing to pay for them.

I guess the Reddit Gold is of value but otherwise what's the point?

You're right, they don't but older accounts with karma do carry a certain reputation with them and their comments are taken a bit more seriously than say a newer account with few posts here and there and little karma.
1982  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler's fallacy, does it exist? on: March 25, 2015, 03:20:54 PM
Well fallacy or not, I do it because I don't see any other way of betting, if you're playing at 2x and you're aiming for above 50, keep going at it after several below 50 rolls seems like the only logical thing to do because it has to hit sometimes.

I am ahead about .35 of a BTC but play small stakes. I play at Betcoin.ag and it reminds me of PokerStars.
0.35 ahead is quite good, I think you should quit right now, getting ahead of the game means you "beat" the odds and are already lucky, and you probably will eventually end up losing it all if you keep gambling. Whats the best current poker site?

I play no hold-em on Betcoin-AG. It's some skill and some luck but I love to play and will keep going. On the last turny I played in I ended up 21st out of @500 players and just got tired at 6+hours of play.
Man spending 6+ hours on the computer is quite a bit of time, especially because you can't take breaks since your in a tournament. I guess if you like what you do then you are not wasting your time.

I play mostly cash games but they did do a free roll turny and you do get breaks as you go. I think my 21st place paid me .06 BTC
0.06 btc is about 12$ or so, so think about it like this. You obviously did well in the tournament, but in your very good place which took 6 hours to do, you made 12$. If you were working at a job for 6 hours, at minimum wage you would make more than 60$ after taxes. Think about it like that.

LoL I don't play for a living as I am retired. I play for the fun of it and the money is only a way to keep score.
Right, most users here are kind of young since bitcoin is new and very technological. Didn't really expect anyone retired on here! I guess if you play for fun, 13$ for free isn't bad, go buy something nice for yourself!

I enjoy online poker as I do not have any kind of poker face and would get eaten alive in live poker.

Let me help you with that. Just practice imitating this face in-front of the mirror and you'll be master of poker-face in a few days.

1985  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin Trading? on: March 24, 2015, 11:43:50 AM
So it just like the normal trading but using Bitcoin
But, does it safe?

Yes, It's the same,  you can buy bitcoin at lower price and sell when the price becomes higher or You can also use your bitcoin to buy altcoins and do the same.

What do you mean,"is it safe"? the risk of trades are always there.

I ask that question because I never do trading before  Smiley

Bitcoin like any other currency may experience upward or downward movements. When you buy any currency or stock or commodity you take a risk and you gamble that it's price will go up in future and would bring profit. But it can go down too, this is what you should understand and know before trading anything.

1988  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Cheap: Auto Followers Twitter & Instagram on: March 24, 2015, 05:44:21 AM

NOTE : I need only your Username, no need any password.
100% safe your twitter profile. All followers are 100% Real not a bot

Are you sure they're real followers? I have used services like this before but mostly they provide followers who look like real followers with some tweets and a pictured profile but are no way near the real ones.

Also, Do you use escrow?
1989  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is purse.io? Vs amazon4u on: March 24, 2015, 05:37:54 AM
I have only used Purse.io once and I did that to exchange my Amazon.com Gift card balance for BTC. I had only $10 and it was becoming hard to purchase an item for that much amount and have it delivered overseas under that. I received about half value of that in Bitcoin and I was ok with it because I couldn't find anyway to use that AGC balance otherwise.

But maybe there are people who are abusing this service by exchanging stolen gift cards since there is no verification process.
1990  Economy / Economics / Re: A Question As Old As Bitcoin on: March 24, 2015, 05:30:14 AM
So you do not believe that Gold will become less valuable in hmmmm maybe 15 years time?

No, I don't think Gold will lose it's value ever because it's a Metal available in very limited quantity, it's becoming harder and harder to dig more Gold and because of it's usage in Jewellery, Circuit Boards etc. it's demand will increase more and more.
1991  Economy / Gambling / Re: [POLL] So.. How's your Gambling journey so far? on: March 24, 2015, 05:02:44 AM
I once won a freeroll Smiley. Made like $120 in one night.

I bet it's poker / casino games Roll Eyes
But, usually people win only $5 to $10 only

I think you have skill at gambling

Yeah, it would be poker I am guessing and it's somewhat about luck. Although, some would argue that it's mostly about skills but I have seen people get stupid lucky with cards I usually throw away. And my luck usually leaves my side at the "River".
1992  Economy / Services / Re: Need a signature design on: March 23, 2015, 03:05:29 PM
I see roslinpl is already here Cheesy and the other guy is medUSA like someone already suggested. If you don't want to go through the hassles of doing a contest. Just choose any one of those 2 and you'll get best signatures.
1993  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CASH-> BITCOIN. on: March 23, 2015, 02:47:01 PM

^This.

Find local traders who deal in cash and have good trade history, set-up a deal, meet at a crowded place and make trade.
1994  Economy / Digital goods / Re: ★ Create your own Faucet Rotator like CoinClicker.com + Bonus on: March 23, 2015, 12:18:27 PM
I see. I was thinking there was a way I could host it on my domain, forwarding my domain to it with masking would serve the purpose but the site would still be under some control of the original domain holder.

1996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 23, 2015, 10:49:16 AM
Here are my suggestions:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=1825
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=1257

I think with a suitable background, they would look really cool, plus they're not that much different from this one as far as functionality go.
1997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 23, 2015, 09:25:13 AM
Check out themes here: http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/

I think they're free and you might find something which is not too flashy and is simple and modern.
I will browse and suggest the ones I like most.
1998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 23, 2015, 08:56:07 AM
Joining now and I know it's suppose to be a sister site but I think you should have used another theme. There are some good new SMF themes which other forums use and they look much better.

Edit: And imho the favicon should be different too :

2000  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before purchasing an product for Bitcoins from someone... on: March 22, 2015, 05:56:57 PM
So TRUST is the MOST important thing before purchasing anything with Bitcoins.

Yes and 99% of the time you need to use escrow, don't just trust the trust.

When you trust someone for escrow, you're still trusting trust in one way or the another.  Wink
