21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: July 03, 2018, 09:11:09 PM
Hi there! Anyone knows how to launch two instances of spreadcoin-qt wallet simultaneously?

I'd like to make a script under Win 10 that could run spreadminer for mining onto two different wallet.dat alternately (every 12 hours) on one machine.

In order to be able to do that you need to give one of the two instances another port and another datadir (blockchain folder), so that they don't interfere with each other.

The datadir you have to add via parameter -datadir=the_other_folder to the spreadcoin-qt.exe (through commandline, or for windows create a shortcut and add parameter there)

After that you can set the Port (and RPC-Port) via a spreadcoin.conf file once the second blockchain folder has been created.
Use any values other than 41678 and 41677.

Code:
port=X
rpcport=Y

Georgem pardon me for intruding and do forgive me the insolence, I am fully aware of the sensitivities here.

I was messaged by one of the unfortunate souls who, per mistake, sent their SPR to a non-compressed address. As result of how the Helium snapshot/ledger balance transfer was magicked together it looks like anyone who accidentally put their SPR in very cold storage (used the non-compressed address) will be able to use the associated privkey to claim their Helium airdrop coins regardless. Please direct any further questions regarding this to the Helium topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1809278.0 or the Slack mentioned in that topic.

Any Helium-related question will be redirected to the Helium thread, as always. No problem here.

from page 1 of this thread (at the bottom)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Apology accepted.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Finally someone (sort of) admits that Helium shouldn't have happened and was just one big scammy clusterfuck going against everything Spreadcoin stands for.
(not just "my" spreadcoin, but I like to believe even Mr. Spread's original vision)

Unfortunately I still have lots of crap to clean up from this mess, but I am hopeful!

Stay tuned for more!

A bittrex delisting is not the end of the world, BTW.

Well, it kinda is for the Pump'n'dumpers / Mining-farms.
But the moment they have to fold and leave, it will open up more possibilities for the little guys to enter.

Anyway, we now have so many Exit-Scams (that all fail the howey test BTW) and weird behavior tied to this coin which makes it highly likely that bittrex will drop us like a hot potato. I don't blame them, they have to cover their own asses.

But whatever way this goes, I will not give Spreadcoin up and continue the clean-up-process.
(with the hopes that once the "stank" leaves the room I can actually drop some updates)

More info soon!

I asked forum moderator mprep to lock down this abandoned thread, so it can't be spammed with misleading information anymore.
I hope he can help with that.

Dear Sir! Currently, Bitrex has contacted and acknowledged him as the DEV of the SPR, so why is the warning line about investing in the SPR on the first page not removed? Ask him explain

The warning will stay as long as the problem persists.

Also, now that I have a direct connection with bittrex, I will of course ask them to take a look at the weird Pump and Dump history surrounding Spreadcoin during 2017.

This is not over yet.

I will consider it a closed case when bittrex acknowledges the problem and takes action against it.

(this might very well mean that Spreadcoin will get delisted from bittrex!)

But this is not in my power to decide, yet I will do everything I can to prevent this from happening by separating Spreadcoin from the Scammers that caused all the damage.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: April 17, 2018, 09:47:22 AM
So I received the bittrex document and am reading through it right now.

Quite a few questions they ask, but most are questions that would concern an ICO (token-sale etc) and not a true POW coin like Spreadcoin.

I have asked them whether it's ok to share their document publicly, if they say yes, I will post the doc here later.

EDIT: Nope, looks like I'll receive an NDA to sign shortly. I'll keep you updated about everything that can be made public though...

Next step:

I'm cleaning up official github account members and owners.

I revoked everyone's ownership rights (except mine of course) and added my other github account (hamsterinthemachine) to the Main Dev Team.

https://github.com/orgs/spreadcoin/teams

I put all the past owners in a team called "Past Owners":

https://github.com/orgs/spreadcoin/teams/past-owners/members

The reason I'm doing all this is because I sure as hell ain't going to sign those bittrex compliance docs without being in full control of the official github source code.

Thanks for your understanding.

Let's see how the next steps with bittrex will go, I'll keep you updated.

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: April 14, 2018, 08:28:28 AM
Update:

Today, bittrex has finally accepted me as official dev of Spreadcoin.  Smiley

Sad that this took 3 years since mr.spread left, but it is finally done!
I am now going through the last steps of their compliance procedures and setting everything up that's needed.
(I already have an enhanced verified account with them, now I need to check some additional docs, etc...)

This means I now have a direct communication line with them that will help us with forks and updates in the future,
and might also help us deter any P'n'D and exit scammers. (IMHO still an ongoing problem with SPR)

I'll keep you updated.

Stay tuned.

Maybe you could try actively developing Spreadcoin so that people invest for genuine reasons instead?

Did you just admit that you invested in Spreadcoin for non-genuine reasons?

Also, how convenient is it that this BitcoinSpread-Fork just appeared a few days ago, and how funny that you suggest I take a look at it.
How fucking convenient.  Cheesy
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: January 03, 2018, 08:36:29 PM
I put this warning in the main thread here:

Warning about trading or investing in Spreadcoin.

Since this is a takeover of a previously abandoned project, it shows an extremely centralized coin distribution in the hands of just a few people.
This has lead to multiple ongoing Pump'n'dumps and Exit Scams started by those very people during the last months.

So trade and invest with caution.

A healthy reminder, we're approaching the 2 year anniversary of when servicenodes were set for testnet and then nothing happened for 2 years.

The 2 year anniversary is to celebrate the date that I first realized I am surrounded by crooks.  Cheesy

Ask yourself: would you fuel and empower pump'n'dumpers with fancy updates?
People who are capable of everything, even exit scams?
I certainly won't.
The issue with pump'n'dumps has to be addressed first.
And there is a reason why I am not invested in SPR at all.

There is also a reason why all current Spreadcoin related development happens OUTSIDE of the actual spreadcoin blockchain.
Spreadwallet, Spreadminer and testnet-in-a-box.

So, stay tuned guys for lots of updates in 2018.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: December 31, 2017, 09:31:02 PM

That's why bittrex is problematic.

The pump'n'dumpers get automatically promoted on bittrex's main page and can sucker in all the newcomers.

This has to change.

But for now:

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!  Grin

BTW coins101, calling HLM a scam is maybe a little strong.
It's just that every step in its creation has broken every good rule in the crypto book, so I am a little wary.
I thought ICO's were the most suspicious, you've proven me otherwise.

But, after all you still have time to turn it into an actual coin with decentralized blockchain etc.
If you manage to do so I will owe you a full apology.
Deal.

I sincerely wish you good luck, and I will not bother you anymore.

(Meanwhile all the SPR bashers are lurking around in this thread, and ALL OF THEM were devout supporters of Helium and joined in on the SPR bashing. Just an observation.
But not you, KarmaShark, I have no beef with you and you never bothered me. So if I offended you in any way with my recent postings I apologize.)

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: December 27, 2017, 04:24:35 PM
You think my stagnating development gives you the right to start a pump and dump and scam people?  Huh

Ok I've had enough, I have started formulating a few things that I will pass on to bittrex soon.

This shitty behavior has to stop.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: December 27, 2017, 04:10:06 PM
But that's exactly the point.
SPR price should represent development, stagnating development should mean stagnating or even falling prices, etc.
That's reasonable.

The fact that the price has risen 300% within 2 days is a pretty clear indication that a Pump and Dump is going on.

Why not call a spade a spade.

I am sure if bittrex takes a look at it, things will clarify.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: December 27, 2017, 03:46:31 PM
I have taken great care to never post a message supporting Helium.
I chose not to participate in it for various reasons.

So you made countless posts in the [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE - Thread,
praising Helium to high heaven, while simultaneously bashing Spreadcoin in this thread here to manipulate people into moving their assets to Helium,
but all that didn't happen, right?

You even gave people instructions on how to consolidate their SPR for the Helium-Snapshot, and what not:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1809278.msg19705025#msg19705025

Do you even give a fuck anymore, lol

I am vocal about your failure to deliver progress on Spreadcoin, nothing else.

You are free to do so, I have no problem with that.
I have a problem with scams and organized pump and dump groups, especially if they try to involve Spreadcoin.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: December 27, 2017, 03:42:21 PM
Georgem

This is incredibly irresponsible of you.

Calling others scammers without any proof and on an admission of doing so just to 'tickle a nerve'.

If you raise any further scam accusation against the Helium project, I will treat that as a more serious case of libel and I will seek to take legal action against you on that basis.

I can not allow you to libel the project when mine and other people's reputations and money are at stake.

You are ridiculous.

I don't think you understand how free speech works.

This is a public forum and I am allowed to voice my opinion any way I like, especially if I have valid concerns and suspicions. (like the ongoing coordinated pump and dump)

Is that how you silence opposing voices, by threatening them with legal actions?

You guys are incredible.

 Smiley

But go ahead, take legal action because of a forum post, I've come to expect nothing less from you.
And by the way, I heard that UK turned into a pretty ridiculous nanny-state, but I am here in switzerland where free speech is still valued highly.

So bring it on.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: December 27, 2017, 08:03:14 AM
If you do not delete these two posts and issue a retraction message on both spreadcointalk and bitcointalk within 24 hours from the timestamp on this message I will take legal action against you.

Yes, ok, I will remove your name,
but I won't delete these posts or issue a retraction message.

You don't get to demand that.

These posts address very valid concerns of mine, and I wouldn't lean myself so far out the window if I were you.

Be warned.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: December 27, 2017, 07:54:11 AM
Read the image you posted. It says accounts will be closed, not that coins will be delisted.

Yes I am aware of that.

But this would be the second time pump and dumpers are trying to do this with Spreadcoin, so I can't really say how bittrex will react if this keeps happening.
If I make the step and contact bittrex, I certainly hope that they will only remove those actors that have now obviously started yet another coordinated pump.
NOT the whole coin.

I want to explore what possibilities I have at this point.

For me, it is of course difficult to point fingers without any insider information, I am just a remote observer.
But something smells very fishy again, and I see all the same actors making noise again as in the last time this happened.

It looks like they just won't leave spreadcoin alone, although they spend a whole year bashing it to death and praising the upcoming HLM and the fantastic price it will have, lol.

Especially stonehedge has been very vocal and insulting about that, which is why I mentioned him in my previous post.
(his posts should all still be up for everyone to read, except of course if he deleted them in the mean time)

Anyway, I am now very closely observing the market, and at some point very soon I might open a conversation/ticket with bittrex and ask them to look into this.

No, I didn't do that yet.

And no, stonehedge don't worry, I won't name you personally, since I don't have any proof.
I mentioned you in jest, and not as a factual proof.

All I am going to probably do is ask bittrex nicely to take a look at both what is happening right now and what exactly happened during the HLM pump.

But I haven't made the decision yet.

I just wanted to tickle a nerve and see what happens, and it's pretty revealing to see all the "usual suspects" pop up in no time.  Roll Eyes

If I can prevent a second Pump and Dump I will do this, with the help of bittrex.

So, be warned!
