Yeah, it's called a false positive.

But your mindset ... is positively false!
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 05, 2016, 11:52:52 PM
Wouldn't it be hilarious if the mods here are now more "triggered" by my picture because it falls under some kind of anti-discrimination clause,
but they have been ok with the ISIS flag all the time?

Let's see.  Grin
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 05, 2016, 11:45:44 PM
Sorry, chaps.

I've really tried. The general view is that free speech trumps our project's rights to exist.

I've found out that this ISIS flag is illegal in Germany and Israel, but that doesn't count, apparently.

I'm opening a self-moderated, unless Georgem opens one first.

I'd don't mind trolls. But this ISIS stuff is nothing to do with the project and we can't deal with it. 'Just ignore him is the standard response'. We've tried that. It doesn't work.

The only rule for the self-moderated thread is no 'ISIS cunts'. I spent over a year brushing off trolls in the darkcoin thread. This ISIS stuff is a step too far for me.

I hear you.

But this is a public space.

If this was my house (like spreadcointalk, or spreadcoin.info) I would have deleted any pics of such flags immediately.

But I always looked at these BCT threads here like some sort of wild west, a lawless jungle.
With horrible, venomous creatures, you wouldn't want to touch with a ten feet pole.

Sometimes the best way of how to fight poison is with another poison.

Since this is a jungle, lets see how the moderators will react if I do this:

Bad ideas deserve open ridicule!

Please everybody put any person you can't stand on your ignore list.
Or ridicule them, if you have the nerves and/or time.

But we are here to stay, and I got stuff to do.

Important stuff!  Cool

Have you already forgotten what georgem said ? Learn to contain your emotions.

Also, I don't have anything against you personally, but maybe you should have your head checked.
Looks like you have some serious malware-infection.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 05, 2016, 11:33:00 PM
I'm sorry!

Should've checked the other github account. 1 commit on a readme file since September 2015. Impressive!

I also like the photoshop work on the "Horny Hamster" wallet (block explorer+service nodes). The only problem is that, in the "recent events" tab, the text is lower by 1px in comparison with the rest of the tabs. Looks like an error on your PS editing, but i hope that you will prove me wrong and release the working software. (doubt it)

Anyways, at least you've tried. Now it's time to fade away into obscurity.

You're still not sorry enough.  Grin

Download the most recent wallet (the one I developed) and you can see the 1px lower "recent events" tab (whatever that means) live in front of your eyes!

You might want to check the in-wallet vanity-gen while you are at it.

Has anyone ever checked georgem's history on bitcointalk ? This guy's account was opened almost 3 years ago and he never once spoke about code. The last commit on the "spreadcoin" project on github happened 1 year and 2 months ago.

Are you bagholders this dumb ?

sigh, did you confuse the old github from the previous dev with our current github?

The current one is here: https://github.com/spreadcoin/spreadcoin

I also create tools in c++, like this one:

Try again!
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 05, 2016, 02:52:54 PM
You're losing your shit over a stupid flag and doing so you're giving it power. It's basically the equivalent of feeding the trolls but more childish imo.

Exactly.

Roadmap update?

Nothing changes.
This roadmap is supposed to be a rather general overview over the important breakthroughs we have in front of us.

It doesn't go into details though. That's what my screencast will be here for.

Patience please, too many things to get in order...
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 05, 2016, 12:52:26 AM
15BTC fee, for a 3 BTC transaction:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1384355.msg14077306#msg14077306

Wow. Painful.

Haha!

Maybe someone heard about our "help bitcoin miners" initiative and got carried away.

 Smiley

I wonder what it feels like to give such a high fee to miners.

I do have a few questions about Spreadcoin. What exactly is a node? Is it user friendly to set up a node? And could we run a website on them?
there's a lot of explanation here (with more to come): http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=727.0

I love your new avatar.

Here's my interpretation of it:

 Grin

edit: lol, it looks like the dove is going to have spreadcoin for lunch!

I'm starting to doubt the intentions of this bird!  Cheesy
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 05:46:21 PM
Same with any troll that dumps his shit here.

LOL... anyone still interested in dumping on our lawn?

LMAO!

If only trolls actually followed warning messages.
The alcoholic certainly didn't care about the signs in front of the supermarket!  Cheesy

490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 05:37:58 PM
I agree, good points... doesn't take away from the fact that it doesn't feel right to have a terror supporter in our community. It doesn't feel right to have to have these conversations. Most ideologies stand for something, these people are out to destroy without reason or distinction. I thought we stand for building something new, explore the unexplored. This takes the fun pretty much out of it.

This reminds me of something that happened to me a few days ago.

I went to the supermarket/discounter to buy some groceries, and one corner of the room there smelled intensly like dog shit.

Now, my first thought was "what kind of supermarket is this!",
but then I remembered that I saw an alcoholic bum with a dog outside the supermarket when I came in and everything made sense.

See, that's the thing, why should I blame the supermarket for something they have no control over?
They did the best they could to fix the problem (remove the dog shit), but the smell took a little longer to disappear since their localities are underground.

Same with any troll that dumps his shit here.

There is no connection between spreadcoin and dog shit.
But there is dog shit of course.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 05:24:04 PM
We merely have a supporter who dons a flag appropriated by ISIS in his Avatar.
It is more than that. This guy openly supports a group that destroys, murders and terrorizes. Would you like to live next door to that? Would you like to invest in something this supporter invests in? Would you build a school or anything else with these people? Would you like to be associated with any of that?  I don't think so.

I made a point earlier that in a globalized society you can be guilty of any number of associations. You use the U.S. dollar I'm assuming... you know who else uses the U.S. dollar? Terrorists use the U.S. dollar. You are supporting the system as much as anyone else, don't you see? Or at least I can make that association.

To go even more abstractly, you share a common language with him... and terrorists.. I could make the association that you are related in some way!

You ask specifically if I like to be associated with these things, but association is something that can be done by an outsider or as a personal decision.

I can associate myself with those things, but I choose not to.

You can associate me with a plethora of things, but I have no control over what you associate me with, even if I don't LIKE it.

So what I'm getting at here, is that many associations can be made, but many are also out of my control, because other people can the ones making the associations

Separately, you own a computer... you have invested in something a terrorist has also invested in... you literally cannot separate yourself from these things. You're in the thick of it.

P.S. people don't make good building blocks... though I think they were used in The Great Wall of China

This guy is deep!
Where have you been all this time!  Smiley

But that's the thing, I never heard him openly back the things you just said.
Currently he's merely guilty of posting an offensive picture.

If his goal was to troll people, he probably jizzed in his pants like crazy.

Edit: Who knows, maybe he has a problem with western civilization in general, which I can understand, and he has found the ISIS flag to be the most effective in offending us westerners?
Anyway.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 05:05:56 PM
Big data has always been secondary to engaging the community and releasing paying service nodes for me.  I would never rush anything in if it wasn't fit for purpose.

Ok, but then again, servicenodes can't exist without a first service.

It always sounded wrong to me to introduce servicenodes that get payed for ... "just being around"...

I think all spreadcoin miners agree with me on that.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 05:02:18 PM

I don't want to play mediator and I won't because I probably won't help. But I think there are better endings to this story than losing a member due to what seems to be a simple misunderstanding of expectations.

I hear you.

I think clarity is what will fix all those problems.
It was only since middle of january that I came up with a realistic roadmap and defined research areas.

I will continue to add more clarity to other areas as we move along.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 04:48:23 PM
Undoubtedly as the community grows, it will be seen as less of an issue...

Exactly.

The bigger the community will get, the less effect trolls are going to have.
The bigger trading volume will get, the less power will "whales" have that can now practically move the price any way they want.

Spreadcoin is currently like a small room where even the slightest fart is being experienced much louder than it actually is.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 04:42:01 PM
If a symbol offends you, you are always free to block/ban the user. That's internet rule nr. 1.

That's fine, until new potential investor are reading through the thread. This could/has put them off.
What if Apple changed their logo to something similar, out of business over night, infact they would've never become anything in the first place.
This really doesn't look good as an image, and image sells.

Question to all, would you be offended if I had an avatar as a "Nazi swastika" or "KKK emblem" or "National Front"Huh??

Just swap it for the spreadcoin or Ripple logo  Grin

Again, isn't it weird how much power you let a troll have over you?

This is an open community where everybody can act any way they like.
Trolls are a fact of internet nature.

If an investor doesn't understand this basic rule of the internet, then I'm not interested in his help anyway, lol.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 04:37:57 PM
why are you and Georgem so nonchalant about Stone's leaving?
violent mood swings of some members,

It is because you dismiss those who are in a position to help the project most as having violent mood swings that people are losing confidence in you.

I dismiss the methodology of how you planned to implement "big data" with spreadcoin.
But we both agree that "helping full nodes" or "helping bitcoin miners" are good goals.
So we do have common goals.

But we don't agree on the methodology.
Since I am the one that will have to develop those things, I need to apply extra scrutinity where you would normally just rush things to make them happen as fast as possible.

As a Dev I'm always prepared to release my code as open source so that anybody can scrutinize it and comment on it.
How come me scrutinizing your proposal makes you so unease all the time?

Atleast that's the impression that I got so far.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 04:26:21 PM
It has nothing to do with religion, but everything to do with free speech.
Hate speech is not covered under free speech!

We already have laws about hate speech in the real world.
Institutionalized "hate speech" is already not tolerated.

The problem is when you extend this rule to the internet, an area where you have anonymous people saying all kinds of things they wouldn't normally say in real life.
People acting like trolls, letting of steam, offending people, etc, the internet is a place where everyone is allowed to say (NOT DO) anything they want.

The danger is when you are setting a precedence to completely dismantle free speech, just so that nobody gets "offended" anymore.

That's why twitter is getting so much bad press lately for their weird "trust and safety council" they want to implement, which sounds like an orwellian nightmare.

Milo Yiannopoulos said it best in this short clip:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-3tiNIZB4Q

Toughen up!

Free speech is also about the freedom to offend other people's feelings.
Your feelings don't matter, what matters are facts.

And yes, ISIS is a terrorist organization.
But an internet troll is just an internet troll.
If he makes you feel bad, just block him, or ridicule him,
but don't ask for the internet to be censored.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 04:07:13 PM
...
When I come here to the forum in my free time, I want to discuss things like that, not violent factions of islam, lol!  Grin

fify

Yes, you are right. I take it back.

It has nothing to do with religion, but everything to do with free speech.

This is the internet, one of the last areas in the world where everyone is still allowed to say everything they want, even offending things.

If a symbol offends you, you are always free to block/ban the user. That's internet rule nr. 1.

Abou Talha hasn't said anything yet that would make me want to block him.
(Ok, I'm not blocking ANY user right now anyway, even known trolls, because I just want to be exposed to whatever is going on around spreadcoin)
And I am not so sensitive that I would allow a mere symbol (whatever it represents) to bamboozle me, or trigger a certain reaction...
Because that would mean that I am not even in control of my own emotions.
Why are people so easily "triggered" these days anyway?

It's about control and power.

How come Abou Talha has so much power that a mere graphic he posts, is capable of triggering all kinds of over the top reactions in some people's minds?
Makes me wonder how commited those people were in the first place...

That's what is worrying me the most, that some people allow other people to have so much emotional power over them.

Is it so easy these days?
So I just need to open an account, paste an ISIS flag as my avatar, and I can cause chaos?
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: March 04, 2016, 03:51:03 PM
why are you and Georgem so nonchalant about Stone's leaving?

We both (coins101 and I) can't base our motivation on "volatile things" like
price level, violent mood swings of some members, or FUDding trolls.

Spreadcoin has survived dev-decapitation and troll infestations before, it's just another one of these "stormy days".

Nonchalance is what they deserve!
