To all those saying "the biggest problem with AM right now is the price has dropped", you need to learn stock ownership 101 basics: if you think a stock is worth owning and the price has dropped, it merely has gone on sale, go buy more.

Yawn, so no new car this week eh.......
Your are hanging in for a car?

For this week my friend  Cool, Already got many toys.

Could you buy a car from one week's divs? Shees how many shares do you must have then? Huh

lophie has ~250 shares, I'd guesstimate.

So roughly $500 then. I know someone who had a car which he paid 300 euro's for and he drove thousands of kms with it all over Europe. So it is not implausible. Grin

Thats like saying he drove Portland ME to Washington DC. People do this rather often in shitty cars.

Didn't expect this: BTC-MINING paid a dividend: 1.06212424
WOW,This a great news ...will this continues?

No. It was what was invested into BTC-MINING but never given to amazingrando. Namworld has been holding onto it for awhile in hopes it could be useful, so he decided to just pay it out instead.

The price of the Asicminer shares will go to 10 in one year  Smiley

Probably before October of this year.

why should this happen?
Hardware sales in first place or is it likely that AM will accomplish it's goals in mining performance?

Greed.

Sorry everyone, I'm running a bit behind this month, I'm working on it now.
31  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Bitcorp Mining Company - BTCMC 60+ GH/s, clear ASIC upgrade path. on: July 27, 2013, 05:56:14 PM
Waiting on BFL gear.

I am considering liquidating BTCMC and closing down.  The diff growth rate is going to make keeping up a losing prospect, even with significant ASIC resources.

A bummer for sure.  Losing the barriers to entry that GPU mining gave us really screwed the business model.

If you end up liquidating, that'd be a shame. But I'll support you if thats what you decide to do.

Does anyone know the number of blades and sticks shipped thus far?

I have no trust in or knowledge of "John Galt Asset Management"

The name alone... I wonder do they give you an Advil when you open an account?

Why, to deal with the eventual headache of trying to read any given Ayn Rand bullshit?

Yeah, it's fucking exhausting. Hours of time that I'll never get back.

Do what I do: look at the fandom of something. Do you absolutely hate and despise them? If so, there is an extremely high chance of you not liking the source material.

Case in point, the Tea Party: a group of people who collect welfare and food stamps, do not regularly hold or have ever held a job, complain about government interference into, well, government services (such as the aforementioned welfare and food stamps and including but not limited to the FDA, the public highway infrastructure, higher and lower education, OSHA, local police and fire, DoD, DoE, HUD, the treasury, commerce, or the USDA), and somehow miss the concept that Ayn Rand believed that all of these services should be provided using a free market system, and that the public would choose the best ones (using some magic unexplained method handwaved away using weasel words like "common sense") and that taxes inherently were evil and that if such a system would be implemented, they would quite literally starve to death because the concept of having a job is beyond them.

Some old-timey Sunday reading for everyone: http://trilema.com/2012/lolvacute-pentru-posteritate/

Conversation includes conversation in IRC around the time ASICMINER was still trading at .1btc each.

"Ill trade you 2080 asicminer for 4160 obsi.abmo"

I love how troll that is. It ended up being a brilliant move that made quite a lot of money.

New ASICMINER Weekly Write-Up!  This time instead of posting directly in the thread, I am writing and hosting it on a Google doc.  This way I can format things better, add a table of contents for older posts... all sorts of nice things.

If this helps you, please remember to donate!

I would suggest using a more understandable date format, the "mm/dd/yyyy" is quite insane to anyone who is not used to it.
If you do not want to switch to "dd/mm/yyyy" that would be understandable, but there are alternatives, such as "yyyy/mm/dd", or at worst "mon dd yyyy" (i.e. the months in letters instead of numbers).

NO! '''yyyy/mm/dd''' is best!  It's perfectly logical order, it's vocabulary-sortable, it's ergonomical to read (you don't have to finish reading the whole line if you need to scan with only month or year precision), and it's ISO!

Except, there should be hyphens (-) or en-dashes (–) instead of slashes(/).  Please fix this and it will be perfect! Smiley

I prefer this.

good evening, Mickey Mouse chips from China I hope you guys realize the blockchain difficulty is rapidly increasing and this is at best a novelty item..Ira

Depends how many you have.

good morning sir, Alot of this is new to me. I've been mining bitcoins the past year using the university computer, what we use here is many times more powerful than anything available to the public. This forum is full of misunderstandings..Ira

Best troll Ive seen in this thread for awhile.
39  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner on: July 03, 2013, 04:46:31 PM
my graphics card is a ATI Radeon HD 4850

as for the driver, i downloaded AMDs auto detect,
witch gave me "13-1-legacy_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc.exe"

I believe they disabled OpenCL on Radeon 4000 series because it is incomplete and a tad loopy.

It doesn't really matter however, Radeon 4000 series is too slow to profitably mine with, and faster GPUs are slowly being priced out of market as well.

How do you determine the buyback price? Do you just buy at market?

Yes.
