why's Am only mining 10% of network - needs to start going up

Didnt firecat said that they focus to have 10%~ ? Stop being greedy and want them overachieve on every single aspect.

I think it was 20%.

no, it was 10% at least until 31th of december 2013. It's in one of the older FC updates

He said that about the predicted 60TH/s. The predicted 60TH/s would have an average of 10% of the network
in case the total network hashrate would go linear from 200TH/s till 1000TH/s between april and december.
But if they deploy MORE than the 60 TH/s (which has already been ordered Wink) then the numbers are totally different. Tongue

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

It would be cool, but what gives BTC its value is the spread across miners.
More income = less miners = slower adoption = less total value.

10% to 20% is well chosen value.

AM is in the business of mining AND selling HW. Less people will buy HW if the difficulty and total net HR skyrockets.

ASICMINER dividend transaction 2f8ae228e273c34591c5e7687da020a459a692daee6ea13bc62fa6701bb29504 remains unconfirmed after several hours.

Hopefully ASICMINER mines their own payouts!

Considering they found a block 5 minutes ago, I'd say it's safe to say they aren't giving themselves any sort of priority.

From experience, they don't. Usually it's delayed because of unconfirmed inputs though... using a low fee is just stupid.

Well,

One standard miner practice is to behave economically rational:  make the transaction zero-fee, and include it for free in a block that you mine.

Including mining-pool-specific transactions in blocks you mine has been common for years, and I encourage ASICMINER to do the same.

Where are you, speculators of 0.04BTC per share?

Blade payments are delayed, because AM does its own escrow service - reseller sends funds to AM address, which are not used for dividends until miners are sent/delivered. This is going to happen on friday possibly. So - one week delay ;-)

Hmmmm.

Then how do you explain the fact that AM paid out dividends double the amount as they made in mining income per share...?

We will be conservative in our estimate here - that AM averaged 50 TH/s (they didn't, it was a bit lower) and that the difficulty was 31256960 for all of the past week (it wasn't, it was higher part of the time).

That comes out to ฿5,631.30. Divided across 400,000 shares, that gets ฿0.01407825/share. There was supplemental income from somewhere.

Doesn't matter which specific week the "hi divz" come - ASICMINER has taken (or is currently taking) delivery of 262 TH/s worth of equipment. It will be deployed or sold - revenue will be used to grow the company, and profits will be paid to shareholders.

The rest is details compared to this big picture!
