For those wondering where the posts on the Enterpoint thread went.

Please can a mod split this offtopic stuff to another thread.
Or delete it.
Whichever is easier.

I split, stickied and locked it.

This is how BFL will do their penance.

With my approve settings and SW4 1 off, 234 on (this FPGA deactivated) i get ~143Mh/s on my pool. No more invalids  Still invalids ~30% Grin

I really hope that it will pay itself off by the time you retire...

Regards,
BF Labs Inc.

Woah woah woah. Just a reminder to the BFL corporation, we, the Bitcoin community, do not tolerate shenanigans like this. I don't know where you are, I don't know what you want. If you are looking for customers, I can tell you I don't have money... but what I do have are a very particular set of skills.
884  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] FUTUREFUND - Making the Future Happen on: June 18, 2012, 02:43:25 PM
So Obsi, how much has FutureFund invested in DMC, which is going to be investing heavily in a green power generation infrastructure, and sounds like the kind of thing this fund is interested in?

FutureFund has not reached it's IPO date yet. Green power generation is one of the areas FutureFund would love to invest in and hope to see great progress made in this area.

Have you considered splitting the power generation side of things into its own investment vehicle?

No, but showing off DMC's high efficiency green computing side is really worth it imo. Not only are we using our own green power, but we're going to be using high efficiency computing combined with high efficiency cooling. Other companies will be green with envy.

He told me this stuff was so cool and stuff and worth a lot. He wanted to give me a gift from his heart and told me to keep them for a long long long time. Well, I'm bored so no, I'm not. What's the best way to use 1000 Bitcoins?

SO BORED.

Successful troll is successful.

Seriously, what boyfriend would hand $6200 USD to their girlfriend in a form that isn't an engagement ring, not that there are any women on the Internet. Or ones that like Gurren Lagann.

887  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Algorithmically placed FPGA miner: 245MH/s/chip and still rising on: June 18, 2012, 06:06:23 AM
Ok, so, it appears that I can get the top and bottom rings running at the rated speed (I'm still using 150mhz builds because they finish fast).  But the middle ring only runs at 60% of expected speed unless the top+bottom rings are switched off (or running super slow).

If it runs stable overnight I will launch a high-frequency build and post those bitstreams when they finish.  It won't be the predicted hashrate, but it should still be an improvement over what people have right now.  And no commissions until I figure out wtf is really going on here.

Sounds like you need prime numbers.

Thank you. I will try it when I consider to update miner. Now it works as usual with older version, and I have no idea why I should update it.

My kernel is optimized for 2.6 and up. It won't perform as well on anything earlier.
889  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner (LP, BFI_INT, async nw, multipool, 79xx GCN) on: June 18, 2012, 12:50:13 AM
No, 2.5 is the smallest version, as I can see.

Boot to safe mode, remove as much of the driver as you can, reboot, install 12.4 and do NOT install the SDK on top. Use the OpenCL runtime that comes with 12.4. This might fix your problem.
890  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner (LP, BFI_INT, async nw, multipool, 79xx GCN) on: June 18, 2012, 12:45:47 AM
I just found prevous version in the backup and it works perfect.

Wait, have you by any chance ever installed SDK 2.1 on your machines?
891  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner (LP, BFI_INT, async nw, multipool, 79xx GCN) on: June 18, 2012, 12:20:27 AM
Damn autoupdate. I trust you so much.
But I'm now updated, and nothing changed.
Just please give me march version of diablominer, it works good.

Thats the problem. I already reverted the changes that I thought was causing that. This is something else, and March's version should ALSO suffer from it. Until then, go use cgminer with my kernel.

I checked for updates on a first PC, and it says "no new version".

Install it manually. 12.4 is already out

Your drivers on both are quite outdated.

I have the same issue on the deepbit. So it's miner program bug.

Like I said, I can't reproduce it. What hardware, and what version of the driver?
895  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner (LP, BFI_INT, async nw, multipool, 79xx GCN) on: June 17, 2012, 03:47:34 PM
No, I didn't. You really think that's a driver or pool problem, which appeared at the same time when I upgrade your miner?

Yup. It happens more often than you think.
896  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner (LP, BFI_INT, async nw, multipool, 79xx GCN) on: June 17, 2012, 03:34:48 PM
Really? I should reinstall windows because of your' program bug?
Ok. I tried on another PC with windows, and had the same problem.

I didn't had this problem before I upgraded your program.

I think I'd better change miner program.
Thank you.

This so called bug is not reproducible on any machine or hardware combination I have access to. So, either it is a driver bug or it is a bug with the pool.  Have you tried a different more mainstream pool instead, such as p2pool?
897  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner (LP, BFI_INT, async nw, multipool, 79xx GCN) on: June 17, 2012, 03:28:24 PM
I downloaded it yesterday, and after that I had the same trouble at first time.

Strange. Try reinstalling Windows from scratch and trying again.

I downloaded DiabloMiner using the link http://adterrasperaspera.com/images/DiabloMiner.zip
If it is a wrong link, please tell me correct.

Its the right link, but it is updated periodically. I last updated it June 13th.
899  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Diablo Mining Company (DMC) [5.0 ghash] on: June 17, 2012, 03:11:45 PM
I never said I was going to sell my assets at 0.19 or 0.15. I said even if I were to do something I will never do and sell my assets at 0.190/mh and assuming BFL isn't lying about their specs, I could end up with 200 ghash in SC Singles. Problem is, a) I would never do that, b) I don't trust BFL.

So, there, I proved you wrong. That was easy. I'm not sure I like a troll owning 26% of my company.

I don't know what to say.. I asked you why I had lost 50% of my investment with DMC, and you respond by calling me a troll. There's more to it than that of course but I don't want to get into it anymore.

You win D, I'll stop talking about you and your company. I just hope you do a better job going forward than you have done so far, because people have lost a lot of money investing in your company so far.

I'm not sure why you keep claiming you lost 50% of your investment. Market prices for everything on GLBSE are panic low because of the BFL announcement. I don't know why you don't see this as an opportunity to just buy more at a much cheaper price.

Because the prices currently being down might mean it's impossible getting back your investment or getting rid of your shares. During any stock market crash there's plenty of good opportunity to make money, but there is no guarantee that specific titles will go back up. Any further investment could be considered as risky. As such you usually consider you have lost part of your investment so long as share prices are lower as you cannot immediately get it back in full and you have no guarantee of them going back up. Especially if they cannot trade their share the other way around. You'd definitely need at least a PR person, that doesn't seem to be your forte. What you say about the panic lows might be true but you'll have to answer people more nicely if you're going to hold their money. Misunderstandings happen all the time, you have to clear those up yourself unfortunately and explain how you plan to get the prices back up or why you think they will go back up.

PR isn't the issue. usagi has continually hounded me on IRC over something I really have no control over. If people want to panic sell, thats their problem, and I'm happy to clean up on all the other shares/bonds also dropping like a rock. If usagi doesn't like the fact I'm trying to optimize DMC's holdings to increase investor profit, thats also not something I have any control over.

As it stands, people are valuing DMC like a mining stock, and there is no formula to convert non-mining assets to mhash. I imagine when we get the green energy farm online, no one will have to worry about DMC stock price again.
