201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can you help me locate a wallet with knowing my ip address? on: November 19, 2023, 11:01:58 PM
AFAIK, IP addresses are associated with internet-connected devices and are used for routing data on the internet and they don't provide any information about the location of any specific Bitcoin wallets even if you're running your own node.  Because Bitcoin transactions are broadcast to a network of nodes that validate and relay transactions not by your device use.

Anyway, just read this thread.
It seems this topic has been discussed already.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how can i change the fees from a signed and sent transaction ? on: November 19, 2023, 10:45:16 PM
Thank you for your answer guys. Actually what i'am using is https://docs.rs/bitcoin/latest/bitcoin/ but i'm open to another libs or tools if possible.
It's irrelevant to your question about the link that you provided above, I opened it but it's a list of Rust Bitcoin and not talking about RBF transactions or how it works.  Are you sure about this?

They are talking about RBF above or ReplaceByFee.
To understand it better, here's an educational link so that you will understand the whole concept of RBF.

203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Disadvantage of bitcoin on: November 16, 2023, 10:56:08 PM
So there is no way to compare the whole or total or call in any form of disadvantages to Bitcoin viayourr loss of access which is your sole responsibility.
I tend to agree with the bolded part above.
That is why from the start, we should weigh the disadvantages and advantages of Bitcoin and once we're aware of it accept whatever consequences will happen in the future.

Everything has disadvantages, even putting your money in the bank and thinking it's safer than having Bitcoin.  But no, the disadvantage would still be there.  Right, it's your responsibility to protect them, and don't rely upon any third party like the bank if you want to have full control your of your money.
204  Other / Meta / Re: Tag a user to update their broken image links on: November 14, 2023, 11:59:08 PM
Good idea.
Those who found this thread may also check their post history and fix the broken link images themselves don't wait to be tagged.
I found too many on my last topic started which most commonly we post images on a thread that we started, if I have time I will fix it and I hope others will do the same.

Forum itself needs to enable image uploading feature so that we will not depend on any third party before we can upload image and also that there will not be any issue like thus that we should fix anything.
I tend to agree with this.
But TalkImg might have existed for a long time since it was taken care of by one of the forum members.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Releases Web3 Wallet custodial crap on: November 14, 2023, 11:50:48 PM
Will this be the end of Trustwallet? It may or may not have any adverse effect to Trustwallet existence. I might be wrong.
Possible.
We know CZ how business-minded is, so might he think why not he will create his own wallet rather than introducing this Trustwallet.
As I remember he recommended it to the users this Trustwallet before because as he said it is safe and secure.

I think for CZ, business is business but the wrong is isn't convincing to us of the wallet he created since still it's originated to centralized one.

One thing that comes to mind which the reason why CZ created this web3 wallet just because of what happened in the kidnapped incident where the victim was forced to empty the crypto wallet, isn't it?
206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much was the price of Bitcoin when you started trading? on: November 14, 2023, 11:29:47 PM
The question today is how much was the price of Bitcoin when you started trading?
I don't remember the exact amount but I think it was right after the bullrun I started trading, in the year 2022 I started trading but the market declined too much which resulted in a huge loss at that time.  Until I realized that trading is more risky than investing if you will hold your asset in long period of time.

Since then, I have known how to invest in Bitcoin using the DCA method of purchasing it which is a potential way of gaining profit at the right time.  Though it take time but you can reduce the risk compared to trading.
207  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Client Executives Kidnapped, Forced to Empty Crypto Wallets on: November 14, 2023, 11:21:48 PM
Honestly, this is the first story that I've heard of someone kidnapped and forced to empty his exchange wallet.
Sounds weird right?  Yeah, in the first place how the kidnapper know about your asset if you don't revealing it to anyone else.
I think there's a lesson to learn on this, we should always take care of our privacy and not reveal what we have even our friends or co-workers.

IMO, privacy and security are closely intertwined.
We should protect them at all costs to avoid being victims of fraud.

We hope that CZ will help the victim to find out easily and arrest the kidnapper.
208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start small and don't get tired of growing in the process. on: November 14, 2023, 10:59:30 PM
I created this just to encourage myself and as many as will find this useful, to keep following the right part, keep learning, practice the little you've learned, and don't wait until you know everything about Bitcoin before you start applying the knowledge you've received. The process might get boring especially when you aren't getting the needed result but just keep trying and moving forward taking a step at a time.
I like newbies thinking the same as your perception on the forum, knowledge first before thinking about profit thinking about how to rank up fast seems like merit hunting forcibly.  Encouragement like this is very important to them because when you have that knowledge or you'll become knowledgeable, merit isn't that hard for you to obtain.

Isn't important for me IMO to become better, joining in a healthy discussion and share ideas is an ideal and a good start here in the forum.
Forget greediness because that will put us down.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a peer to peer method less popular than as an investment on: November 13, 2023, 11:59:10 PM
Bitcoin, according to the white paper is a peer to peer payment method. It serves as money with no third party or central body involved. Currently, it hasn't fully meant the criteria of money due to certain limitations but it has helped one become their own Bank. Not to mention, Created more uses than satoshi anticipated.
I tend to agree and that's the fact of the white paper of Bitcoin, it supposedly didn't promise gains.
However, people see that Bitcoin has gained recognition as a digital store of value because of its limited supply that becomes Bitcoin's price is also influenced by speculative trading and traders may buy and hold Bitcoin with the expectation that its value will increase over time, allowing them to sell at a profit.

That's their perception now instead of following the main purpose of Bitcoin why it was created.
210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to detect two different prices on P2P trade on: November 13, 2023, 11:34:51 PM
As I understand from the OP, in P2P trading there are so many manipulative or deceptive tactics on P2P trading that everyone might be careful with this.  IMO, try to look for the account that you wanted to trade on p2p, because most likely, when a trader frequently uses this technique will face negative consequences, legal issues, and damage to his reputation.  We should always pay attention to the review ratings before we proceed with making a transaction.

I think if you're fully aware of the actual price and how to use p2p trading, you won't be deceived by anyone.
This isn't a scam to me, it sounds like deceiving innocent people which is an old tactic in p2p trading.
211  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FALLING FALLING! on: November 12, 2023, 12:09:30 PM
we really don't know where the price will go short term, so what's more in long term?
I tend to agree with this, I didn't monitor the market condition for about two months but I expect that the market will have a bullish trend, especially in this last quarter of the year.  Which is you're right to focus on the broader, long-term perspective.

Short-term fluctuations may remain unpredictable, we don't know yet where the price is heading, and it could be those predicting the market price will make FUD and won't help the market.

However, IMO, the market might seem more likely that we're encountering strong supply zones rather than a prolonged bearish trend.  The consistency of price respect for those areas strengthens the case for their significance.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adaption in Turkey on: November 12, 2023, 11:31:37 AM
Being living in the neighbours of Turkey, in the same Asian region, it hurts when I see that our government here wants to declare the use of crypto as illegal and does not think crypto is a good thing. Sometimes I think we need to migrate to a crypto friendly country.
That's because every country has different jurisdictions towards crypto, if your country isn't yet embracing crypto yet, it might one day they will realize how useful it is.  It could be one reason is political stability and the level of public trust in government institutions can possibly the reason for cryptocurrency regulation.

You're lucky if your country accepts crypto as a legal tender the same in my country, so I think migration isn't a solution here.  You can still own your Bitcoin since its decentralized nature.  Though the process of trading might be difficult because you're using DEX's but it's fine if you know how to manage it.

Based on Coin ATM Radar, total number of Bitcoin ATMs / Tellers in Turkey: 22 which is not bad.
213  Other / Meta / Re: So I had a person send me a pm to beg for merits. on: November 12, 2023, 10:33:35 AM
Am I required to report it?
IMO, not required but it's up to you.

I also received a PM similar case in the last few months, ain't sure it was begging merit but as I understand it was asking merit of the shitpost he made.  I quickly checked his post history but I found he is not worth having even a single merit.

I simply declined the request in a polite manner and explained to him how merit distribution works which is only for a quality post.
I told him that one day when I find something worth it from his post or a quality post I'll not hesitate to give him a merit once I see it improves.

I think they might be confused about the merit system since they're new in the forum and how to get it (I assume they're new in the forum, not those account farming).  So give them a chance and explain to them politely the right thing to do.

You can ignore the request or decline the request, it depends on you aside from leaving neutral feedback.
As commented above, I tend to agree that reporting as an unsolicited PM might accurate one.
214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $5k rise within an hour plus. on: October 24, 2023, 11:59:33 PM
Surprise is that we will have an ATH just tomorrow.  Smiley /  Embarrassed
Wait, ain't ready yet. Cheesy
Don't forget Bitcoin halving hasn't yet come which is a sign that ATH is near to come.
By the way, that's a great prediction of yours.

Some say that this is a bulltrap?
Might be possible, that there could be a downtrend after this spike.
But it could be also a starting point for a path of ATH.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a universal work of art on: October 24, 2023, 11:51:29 PM
Bitcoin may be the human work closest to something divine, in other words, free from imperfections and relativity, after the work of Jesus Of Nazareth.
Does it seem like a worship?
I don't think so, IMO, Bitcoin was created for only one purpose.  It's "Financial Freedom".

It might be people just having belief and faith in Bitcoin, emphasizing that faith allows us to act without requiring full knowledge, while wisdom and knowledge can guide us toward a deeper understanding.  It's a reminder that in our pursuit of what is right and meaningful, we may not always grasp the complete truth, but through knowledge, wisdom, and faith, we can come close to it and carry it within our hearts.  That's how we adopt Bitcoin.
216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A more scientific mindset is necessary to avoid scams. on: October 24, 2023, 11:25:46 PM
Reading a whitepaper is enough information to avoid scams.
There should be education and awareness in this field to avoid scams and understanding the common strategies used by scammers and the vulnerabilities they target can help educate us regarding this matter.

You can use scientific tools to educate yourself not necessarily to eliminate scams entirely but to reduce their prevalence and protect potential victims.
217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be Sure To Read A Wallet's Or Any Documentation Before Starting To Use on: October 24, 2023, 11:03:28 PM
In any wallet you use in crypto you shouldn't forget how to back up the password and the private key because that's very important.
I didn't use this Wasabi wallet even how many times I heard this wallet on this forum.  For a Bitcoin wallet?  I prefer to use Electrum than this.

This is one of the reasons why wasabi wallet is not a good recommendation anymore for privacy and other loopholes found with using this wallet
I don't think that there's connection about the loophole and privacy matters of Wasabi to his friend's negligence of keeping the passphrase and forgetting about it.
I tend to agree, that it's not about the Wasabi wallet, it's his friend who didn't back up very well the password.
Though I'm not using this wallet it's a rare case I hear that this wallet scamming its users, the reputation of this wallet still good than the web wallets out there.
218  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new here on: October 24, 2023, 10:41:55 PM
Welcome to the community, Bitcointalk.org.
I like a newbie asking how to learn than a newbie here asking how to earn and if you explore the forum and spend your precious time reading rather than posting, you will learn a lot for sure.

I saw a lot of threads and links to an article posted above which are good to visit.
In addition, "https://bitcoin.org/en" also gives some basic information about Bitcoin and how this technology works.  Just click the "English" button on the right side to show other languages that you like.
219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ways to earn money in cryptocurrency? on: October 23, 2023, 11:59:20 PM
For now, there's no easy way to earn money in cryptocurrency, not like before.
Bounty and airdrops as of now are full of shit, most of them are scams and never pay their participants.

So for now, this is the formula.
Skills = Money

If you've got demand skills like coding and programming in crypto, then it's easy for you to earn money.
220  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: TrustWallet on: October 23, 2023, 11:56:29 PM
I specify that right before the upgrade of the wallet everything was working fine.
It's been a while ain't used this wallet but as I remember before when I was actively investing in altcoins, it seems I encountered the same as your problem.  So after their system updates this is what I did, I cleared the app data and cache can help solve an issue like this, or log out of your account and uninstall the app, reinstall, and log in again.  In that way, seems like you refreshing the app and your account, and their system will work well at your end.
