I make mistakes so you don't have to.

OK when I go to navcoin.org/dowloads I see window wallet still says 3.7.0.

I download it anyway and see navcoin-qt.exe has today's date so save old folder and backup wallet.dat

install files to a folder. look at that navcoin.conf see addnode=navsupernode1.ddns.net etc and add all of them to appdata version of navcoin.conf.

Launch navcoin-qt.exe
about navcoin has 3.7.0-UT-ZAH-HA-DEZ-BIN

go to sent 50 nav to facuet NgotyMGAjWKTQnEZXVDPZqWrNyotdphzhQ and check Send NAV Anonymously

get this when I try to send

then this:

Then found Navtech guide http://www.navcoin.org/guides/navtech-anon   what RTFM? read the fine manual?
which has anon servers listed
Quote
addanonserver=95.183.52.55:3000
addanonserver=95.183.53.184:3000
addanonserver=95.183.52.28:3000
addanonserver=95.183.52.29:3000

Close navcoin and update my navcoin.conf and restart navcoin-qt
Hey this looks better!

thee rest looks like normal tx except sent to address is encryptedaddress
which I'm not going to show

Shows tx was sent and at faucet:

so send NAV to the facuet it needs the coin

204  Other / Archival / Re: Do you agree with idea "Bitcoin bank" ? on: November 01, 2016, 05:57:20 PM
I definitely don't want a central bank of bitcoin. But if my bank does my bill pay with bitcoin instead of ACH good for them.

208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another exchange goes bust. Bitcurrex loses ~2300 BTC on: October 29, 2016, 06:29:30 AM
Would it be possible to create a decentralized exchange running by the same principles bitcoin does?
I mean based on a blockchain? Rewards could be exchange fees. About 0.15 % of each transaction.

look into bitsquare

just a reminder.

you can buy and sell NAV on Bitsquare.

 buy and sell BTC with many types of fiat.

not an exchange on a central server that can be hacked or stolen from. but a way to locally hold your bids/asks in multisig wallets when someone uploads the other half of the trade the wallets transfer your coins

also uses tor
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another exchange goes bust. Bitcurrex loses ~2300 BTC on: October 28, 2016, 05:11:14 PM
Try bitsquare. not an exchange exactly more of a list of bid ask and multisig secure escrow.

No central server so no one can hack and take coins or inside person to steal coins.

Coins or fiat are only moved when both sides have proven themselves

That’s where Bitsquare comes in. https://bitsquare.io

We have developed a solution which is based on pure P2P infrastructure. While the transfer of national currency requires the involvement of traditional payment channels like banks or payment processors, we are not dependent on any particular one. Their role is limited to what it should be: They transfer national currency. No power of censoring, confiscating, monitoring or controlling your financial interaction.

then we can't discuss price at all since that would mean taliking about the coin this website is named for.

so if price crashes or zooms tomorrow we can't discuss it if seems related to the event referenced?

So much chatter lately on Zcash . I wonder what the effect will be tomorrow for NAV when Zcash starts trading? Huh

This is the NAV thread. Please do not hijack or promote other coins here- Thanks
NAVTech Anon is releasing this week and this forum is for NAV discussion ONLY
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: October 26, 2016, 10:35:43 PM
How i would bitcoin would change if it was outlawed. I would not use BTC backed debit card to buy gas or buy new monitor at newegg with BTC.

if this happens I think it would be because of USD hyperinflation.

I would use bitsquare to buy sell BTC and use the BTC as a way of saving wealth. maybe find a way to locally trade gold/silver for BTC. but gold/silver might become illegal also.

With a pool of only 1000NAV you will quickly become unavailable and only random chance that the next TX will go to another of your servers. also this means only tx of 1000Nav or less could be processed. if you have already started on other TX the balance is even smaller so even more chance of being too small to get another tx.

any arguments?

Are you saying it will be just like staking? having big amount of navcoins in the server will allow you to handle more transactions?

Maybe a limit of navcoins for each anon server will be more healthy... For example 10000 navcoins for each anon server. Then if you have 100k you can run 10 servers.
What you think about this ?

Quote
I was now thinking about how many minimum NAV I need to run the Anon Decentralization Server.

The more you have in pool the larger the tx you can accept. The anon process checks to make sure server can process the TX. So if you have a large pool you can handle many small tx in process waiting to get NAV back and still be able to handle a new large tx.

Mean more fess for you.

I'm planning on ~100k Nav will start on a spare pc but when fees will cover it will move to a hosted VM.

no, bad idea

I'm not sure anyone knows yet.

From the white paper cheat sheet:
Quote
One being that Navtech servers contributing to the anonymous system will gain a small payment from each transaction fee. This could add up to significant volumes if a lot of transactions are processed. Secondly, that Navtech can be adapted to be used by other cryptocurrencies.

If you set up a server as such using your own Navcoin, what is the transaction fees likely to be. I have 84000 coins and wondering if it would be worthwhile doing.

There are some values set in the testing what the will be in the go live version I have no idea.

I'm also not sure if fees are the same in all servers or can be different.  If you can set your sever fee and I can set mine will that make it a race to the bottom?  the dev group will be running first severs as part of the rollout and to be able to adjust for the inevitable bugs not found in testing.

Guess I need to dig into API on whitepaper and not cheat sheet.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the idea of a bitcoin shop in big cities? on: October 24, 2016, 05:02:56 PM
Need to educate POS services. so they make all the cash registers accept BTC like Visa or Mastercard or (in US EBT card). store keepers wont care as long as person pays up.

Issue right now is most POS payment devices can't show QR code where you put card and enter pin.

You can buy and sell bitcoin online in just a minute, that shop of OP will just go to waste. There wouldn't be that much people in it. I think instead of funding a project like that, we should make a center or a facility that regularly educates and introduces people who are interested about bitcoin. Even if there might be very little service fee for this or maybe even if this will be done for free, it will help pump the price of bitcoin. Just one or two rich people that would invest in bitcoin would make the price of it increase.

Bought NAV on bitsquare Grin

I have it installed. But need to move BTC into it for security deposit. I will do so this weekend and put up a small amount of NAV for sale.

Anyone have a chance to jump on Bitsquare yet?

Whats the experience like, any tips!

Will try after work tonight.

While the prices are in USD you can pay for stuff at newegg and overstock in BTC

The company I work for makes this item.

You can it and many more with bitcoin
