Others seem less concerned.  if it's that important buy .5btc a day.

Myself I'm mining a small amount ~2GH/s and holding for use in Blakezone games.

Pumping the coin right now makes no sense until it's main use case is up and running it will just lead to a dump.

Nono. we need it still to be listed on bittrex. Do they offer any discounts for people who run volume bots?
We can run a few of those but its still going to cost some money.

Ids there any dev fund that can be used for this purpose?
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the idea of a bitcoin shop in big cities? on: December 01, 2016, 11:32:54 PM
For a start it should be convenient to use and pay for goods using Bitcoin. I can understand to do it on the Internet, but in real life it is not clear how.

Well at the store I go to (search back to see earlier message) they have a touch pad next to the cash register you enter the payment amount (should be automated but is not) and it shows a QR code. Scan code with my phone with wallet app and confirm. takes about the same time as a ATM card

What do you expect to see?  The coin wallet works and stakes, there is an exchange.
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: November 30, 2016, 04:40:25 AM
Way too late for me.

No, more of a Prohibition just moves it underground and doesn't stop it. Also gives the state a pretext to control your wealth. Just posting here may in the future give the Gov cause to search your home and computers.

I disagree yes voters realize this would be a prohibition like alcohol was in the US in the 1930 and POT is now. outlawed but millions use it anyway.

The poll so far shows 63.3% of forum members have some sort of cognitive dissonance psychosis.

Really? Are you saying you're dependent/addicted to Bitcoin like a drug?

There are special treatment programs for alcoholics like AA. Maybe I should start a BA treatment program. LOL

All the more reason it's psycho to get on a public forum and say anything other than you would immediately stop using Bitcoin if your government told you too, right.  Wink

Don't know how many of you remember it used t be against the law in the US to have Gold. Jewellery was excepted but bars, coin etc  could not be owned.

Openly support?  Wear a bitcoin not bombs t-shirt yes. Offer to pay a speeding ticket with bitcoin in a courthouse (like an offer to pay in heroin) No. Attend a open public bitcoin info meeting yes, have a active wallet on my phone at that meeting, no.

EU will have the power to make BTC illegal 1/1/2018. Doesn't mean they will but why give your gov that power?

So if you are staking 30 QBT you get 90 (300%)
but if you have Staking 5000 you get 100 (100 QBT max)

If PoS rate 300% and min stake time 365 days then inflation 300%
If rate 300% and min stake 30 days then inflation 1355%
If rate 300% and max coins generated per block 100, then Blocks.per.Hour*24hour*365*Coin.per.Block=Max.Coin.per.Year.
Now money supply 54M QBT, and if 17.52M QBT issued per year, then inflation 17.5*100/54=32%
Then in next year 17.5*100/(54+17.5)=24%

People going to jail for mining BTC

this is what government crackdown on bitcoin can look like. It's not illegal but you can be jailed for mining it.

Soon to be a NAV staking unit.

Glass doors, car windows etc.
154  Economy / Economics / Re: why is it so hard to buy bitcoin on: November 23, 2016, 10:45:02 PM
If you use USD and want Yen you don't necessarily have to exchange them. You can start working for Yen. It's the same with bitcoins. You don't have to buy them you can just start services to earn them. I like it better because then you don't have to give out your ID to some online company!
That's an extremely limited niche, though.  It's like selling stuff for bitcoin--your market is very small.  It's better to earn fiat and buy bitcoin.  And fiat is more stable.  Would you really want your paycheck in bitcoin?

Well it's a way for the OP to avoid his problem that's for sure. Would I like part of my paycheck in bitcoins!? Absolutely yes! Maybe a small percentage like how it's suggested you save 10% of your income for retirement.
I also would love to be able to choose what % of my salary gets paid in Bitcoin.

I would stick it in cold storage and forget all about it.

If you can get paid by direct deposit you can get pain in BTC. Signup at https://www.bitwage.com/ and you will dget info to give to your HR just like you would to send your paycheck to your checking account.

Depends on your HR but you should be able to send 10% to bitwage account and the rest to your checking account.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAV COIN - ANONYMOUS TECH. LAUNCH NOV 1 on: November 23, 2016, 06:24:43 PM
I'm sure the IRS will trace the blockchain if/when they get all the coinbase user info.  If I bought BTC @ $300 there and then Bought coffee at the bitcoin general store when BTC was $400 The IRS wants a cut.

As I said, transactions are traceable if you take no precaution or in special cases. Using your own ISP to make transactions or coin mixing with just one mixer can get you traced, in theory again and provided that those looking for you are motivated and powerful enough to pull all the strings.

This article is just a collection of same old arguments + a plug about zcash.
So people need to be computer experts to be sure to not get caught ?

People who really have something to hide and have chosen crypto to do it better be damn well sure they know how to use their tools of choice. In this case it is computers.

No one will spend the resources required to analyze the blockchain of any coin to back trace your coffee purchases. We are talking real reason to hide here.

I have yet to see convincing evidence that blockchain analysis will lead with any reasonable degree of certainty to a specific person who has taken necessary precautions.

Sure, currencies like NAV, and even the earlier ones mentioned make it a lot easier to cover yourself and that's good. I just don't agree with this notion that everything with standard crypto can be traced that this article seems to want to pass.

Need to trade fiat for BTC? Trade Altcoins for BTC or BTC for either back? Bitsquare is a P2P trading platform. your coins are only on your machine no exchange to get hacked or shut down keeping your stuff. TOR built in

Hey everybody!

Been reading for a while and finally made an account. I think NAV is one of the most exciting projects out there right now. Really like how they are doing the tech for the anon feature.

I apologize in advance if this has been answered. I used the search function but wasn't able to find the details I was looking for. I am hoping to start staking my Nav but am unsure of how to do that. I understand its something with the config type file and there's another step?
If someone is able to break down the process of how to stake I would greatly appreciate it Smiley

This nav sale is pretty exciting as well. I did not think it would get this low again. It's good time to buy!

If you are using the windows/mac/Linux wallet is will stake as the coins age (2hrs) automatically. But if you have encrypted your wallet you do need to enter the password with for staking only checked.
