201  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Bitcorp Mining Company - BTCMC 60+ GH/s, clear ASIC upgrade path. on: April 18, 2013, 03:23:35 PM
Hey guys,

As I have stated before, no dividends will be paid out until our ASIC hardware arrives.  I will be presenting updated financials once we receive the new hardware, which I hope is within 30 days.

What we all need to do is put pressure on MT Gox to assist the receiver with the Bitcoinica debacle, as the amount of money we have tied up there is now approaching $100,000.

BTW, you've been outbid on the ASICMINER blades. Wink
202  Economy / Auctions / Re: 371 ASICMINER shares, 1.0 BTC minimum bid, 24 hour on: April 18, 2013, 02:59:58 PM
Sorry guys, I went to bed early so I could be awake when the auction ended.

Since these are real ASICMINER shares, upon receipt of the money, I'll PM friedcat to transfer the shares. Hes busy setting up more hardware in the farm, but the transfer should happen before next dividends.

Since I'm a founding member of the community and a mod of the forum, I think that sidesteps the need for the overhead of GPG signed contracts and escrow (if anything, people often come to me to handle their escrows).

25 @ 1.0000001

I don't want to be a bid nazi, but no dick bids. Keep it to 3 digits after the decimal.
204  Economy / Auctions / Re: 371 ASICMINER shares, 1.0 BTC minimum bid, 24 hour on: April 18, 2013, 05:17:49 AM

205  Economy / Auctions / Re: 371 ASICMINER shares, 1.0 BTC minimum bid, 24 hour on: April 18, 2013, 04:24:11 AM
I'll bid for 40@0.9 because I don't think you can really consider it an auction if the minimum is = to retail price.

Both PTs have bids above 1.5.
206  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 17, 2013, 07:10:54 PM

DiabloD3

Let's step by step.

I have tried these options:

run the proxy with the label:
"C:\either way\mining_proxy.exe" -o coinotron.com -p 3335
run DiabloMiner with .bat:
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o coinotron.com -r 3335
or
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o coinotron.com -r 8322
or
run the proxy with the label:
"C:\either way\mining_proxy.exe" -o coinotron.com -p 8322
run DiabloMiner with .bat:
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o coinotron.com -r 3335
or
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o coinotron.com -r 8322

run the proxy with the label:
"C:\either way\mining_proxy.exe" -o coinotron.com -p 3335
run DiabloMiner with .bat:
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o localhost -r 3335
or
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o localhost -r 8322
or
run the proxy with the label:
"C:\either way\mining_proxy.exe" -o coinotron.com -p 8322
run DiabloMiner with .bat:
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o localhost -r 3335
or
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o localhost -r 8322

run the proxy with the label:
"C:\either way\mining_proxy.exe" -o coinotron.com -p 3335
run DiabloMiner with .bat:
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o 127.0.0.1 -r 3335
or
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o 127.0.0.1 -r 8322
or
run the proxy with the label:
"C:\either way\mining_proxy.exe" -o coinotron.com -p 8322
run DiabloMiner with .bat:
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o 127.0.0.1 -r 3335
or
DiabloMiner-windows -u login -p pass -o 127.0.0.1 -r 8322

and does not work.
DiabloMiner can not connect to the server coinotron.com
on any other pools DiabloMiner work well
where I made a mistake in the settings?

It should be DiabloMiner-windows -u loginforproxy -p passwordforproxy -o localhost -r portforproxy

Ive never used whatever mining proxy you're using, so I suspect you're setting that up wrong. Go ask the author of that.
209  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 16, 2013, 03:42:34 AM
why not solo mine?
debated again and again. variance, no orphans paid, etc

P2Pool would be great if you did not produce many stales

P2Pool doesn't work that way. The stale counter in miners are completely useless on P2Pool

if I could to configure DiabloMiner together with proxy, then I would not bother to you.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking then. You connect to a mining proxy like you connect to a pool. You use the same command line arguments.

Device Selling
Apart from the same boards we use for mining, we also have an adapted version of the mini boards which we used at early January for our first arrived chips that are nice as small gifts. Here is a picture of a not-yet-assembled one with 300MH/s. It can be powered by merely the USB port:

I want those... filling the ports on one of these:

Smiley

Those are mostly useless. These require port power, so you need 1A of 5v per port. I think I'll just buy a 21ghash board if those come available.

I have DiabloMiner + mining proxy
How to set up DiabloMiner through a proxy?

-x host:port<:username:password>

like this?
-x 127.0.0.1:username:password -D 1
does not work.
run mining proxy, DiabloMiner and DiabloMiner immediately closes

Mining proxy != proxy.

Connect to a mining proxy like you would a pool normally.

What you all do about the "HEAT"
A 5870 can warm up the room very nicely.

Open a window.

There is something wrong with Cointron's pool software. Either bring it up with them, or switch to p2pool.
216  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 14, 2013, 01:42:16 PM
Auction costs time. It's better to sell 5 devices per day with profit margin 500% than one device per day with profit margin 1000%.
I think its really the best way, revenue-like, that Asicminer will go the auction route.
I agree.

Thinking about how Avalon has done it, it really makes sense to set up an auction, to see what the price should be. They owe this to their shareholders, I think.

Think about Avalon. They sold their devices at some arbitrary price, resulting in a lot of them ending up on eBay at 5 times that price. Now that's a lot of lost revenue. Instead of that revenue going to Avalon, it goes to some random dude who's selling his device on eBay, when Avalon could be making that extra money - well deserved.

Gauge what the market price for these devices should be, and start with that price, and keep doing this to satisfy demand.

I agree with this. However, the entire batch needs to be bid at once, we can't do multiple bids because people will just try to game that. Instead, say, if theres 100 units, we bid on all 100, and allow people to build on multiple units concurrently (ie, "2 units at 5 btc each").
217  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner on: April 14, 2013, 11:29:25 AM
Well I couldn't get cgminer to work for me. I opened it ok and it just stays at loading. no errors or anything. IDK. I think I'll just keep mining on pool.itzod.ru since there's no fees and when your software upgrades to support stratum, then I'll go to slush's pool.

I'm getting 1475 mhash on my two gigabyte 7870 GHz editions overclocked to 1225 MHz. Very nice rate IMO. with 4 difficulty I get about 0.25% stale

Switch to p2pool. No fees, and it moots the issue of stratum (p2pool supports it, but all traffic is local anyways).
218  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner on: April 13, 2013, 11:17:52 AM
This might be a n00b question but does it support stratum? I like diablominer, and my AV says the only CGminer I can find atm has a Trojan in it. no ty. It's not from the original author... IDK...

It doesn't support stratum yet. Also, building cgminer from source isn't difficult unless you're on OSX.
219  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 13, 2013, 01:40:53 AM
Its not slower

Yes it is.

You're basically saying that a hybrid car is not slower than a ferrari because cars are measured in L/100km. Having other favourable qualities does not mean that this unit is not slower than a GPU.

Your comparison made zero sense. Miners are measured in mhash/watt and mhash/tco. Whats the point of being flat out faster in raw numbers if you can't afford to "drive your Ferrari".
220  Economy / Securities / Re: [BAKEWELL] Action Proposal - Call for Volunteers on: April 13, 2013, 12:58:39 AM
Usagi, you do realize what you're trying to do to bakewell is no different than what nefario tried to do to DMC, right?

Pursue things legally, and since this none of you have a legal contract with Ian, there is not much you can do legally. Consider this a learning experience and move on.
