201  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB 3 btc monthly with paypal on: June 18, 2013, 04:25:10 PM

If the PayPal seller insists on using the red highlighted payment type to send you the USD (or any other currency) then it is likely a scam.

I have personally reversed funds from scammers who received them as a gift.
202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Skipping newbie jail on: June 18, 2013, 04:22:16 PM
Been around long enough to remember your scam.
I've never scammed anyone, ever. In fact I have very good business relationships with many highly trusted individuals in this community whom I continue to work with regularly despite my occasional public outbursts of immaturity. As I already mentioned, the truth is all in my signature link. If you were interested in learning, you'd read it, but you're just here to give hit and run responses to boost your post count so what do you care?

203  Other / Politics & Society / Re: living With Terrorism on: June 18, 2013, 04:17:24 PM
How immature do you have to be to look at an entire nation's population of various dynamic beliefs and interests and label the group "enemy"? The US is no more an enemy to me than China, Russia, or even North Korea.

Right.  I've always found this nationalist concept so silly.  Like I'm supposed to like any particular Australian better than any of my friends overseas because the person is Australian and my other friends aren't.  It's just dumb tribal bullshit.

Who should be regarded as the enemies in this world?  Those who act peacefully and live their lives or those who act violently towards others and disrespect property rights?  Who are the people we should really be concerned about?

Why are there terrorists?   Why do we provide financial support and give credence to so many ruthless dictators over the last few decades?   If we lived in one of these countries, and we looked at other richer countries that were financing those who kept us down, how would we feel?   How desperate might some people feel?  Root causes are important.

Out of one side of their mouth, some bitcoiners scream foul at the entity of "government" (instead of specific corrupt individuals inside it), yet are happy to mimic them with the other side of their mouth in equal corruption, by preaching of libertarian ideals and free markets, while raping consumers with pre-orders on never delivered items.

I lost faith in this community the moment some people were begging the community not to let Bitcoinstore fail and saying that it's good for bitcoin, etc. Suckers, every single one of them. Cultist suckers who don't realize they are falling for a new government, a government run by the rich and corrupt. Cultism is bad when it's anti-Bitcoin statist cultism, but it's equally bad when it's blind pro-Bitcoin propaganda cultism too. We need rationality here to survive and take with us the remnants of any failures. Without rationality, no one learns from any of the mistakes and some continue on like idiots, blaming everyone else for their poor financial decisions.

Omg, why would anyone pay for something like that?

I admit I had some problems in the start, my time did not update accordingly to my browsing - but then I just set autorefresh on one of my tabs in firefox, and let that sit for 4 hours.

If that site would offer insta-jailskip I would understand, but its the same 4 hours wait

I think the general argument (from what I can tell from reading the newbies subforum) is that not everyone has 4 hours to actively use the forums. Sitting still on a single page for 4 hours does not constitute visiting for 4 hours afterall. The site says it's 0.01BTC which is about $1 right now. I've seen people pay 3 BTC just to troll me personally and some people pay 50 BTC just to run libel campaigns against Ripple, so obviously everyone here values things differently.

I believe that especially for a "Business" account you should be able to spend the 4 hours browsing. Think of it as time used to plan your ad campaign or doing market research.
For someone who has been doing business here for 2 years? Can't tell if serious..
205  Economy / Services / Re: [CLOSED] 0.1 BTC for a quick logo on: June 18, 2013, 03:54:12 PM
Har har and this is why we avoid contests.  So who's getting paid hmm?

Some other contest site with "professionals", apparently.
206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Skipping newbie jail on: June 18, 2013, 03:53:36 PM
Hmm suspicions confirmed? Mathew owns newbiejail.org.

I actually posted this thread because of your comment. Glad you posted. (I guess it was inevitable since you're just building up as many pointless posts as possible it seems. How long have you been a member now with how many posts again?)
207  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is Avalon mining with customer hardware? Answer is here. on: June 18, 2013, 03:51:43 PM
If this is true, I demand Yifu give me any and all bitcoins mined with my Avalons. (They are pre-orders, hence the "no refund" policy, but that goes both ways, it means the products and every internal component are 100% mine and thus any income derived from them is also mine.)
208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Posting in other forums on: June 18, 2013, 03:50:43 PM
I am still unable to post in the mining forums.  What requirements am I missing?  I hate this newbie restriction system.

We all hate it..

This has to be a record. Just joined and has 107 post already, wow.

His comments are all garbage. Keep an eye on him, he's likely setting up for some astroturfing of another party's agendas or potentially scamming.
209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just signing up for this guy on: June 18, 2013, 03:48:42 PM
I have a feeling Mathew is the owner of newbiejail.org, he has a scamming history...
Two false statements in such a short sentence. That's gotta be a record. What would you like as a prize?

No thanks, the prize would prob be some trojan virus wallet stealer or somethin..

Yes, that is exactly what I'm known for. Click the link in my signature, it's full of stories of trojan wallet stealing mayhem and other devious activities. Virus anyone?
</sarcasm>

213  Other / Beginners & Help / Skipping newbie jail on: June 18, 2013, 03:33:14 PM
I've seen this posted dozens of times and I've finally tried it myself as well when making a business account here for PR purposes. I wasn't ripped off, the code worked exactly like it claims to. Apparently by just using the site, as long as you don't close the window or log out of the forums, it will get you out of newbiejail for you (minus the 5 posts).

Since I feel funny suggesting a site that I don't know the owners of, please post your experiences here as well in case it goes rogue and I should change my opinion of it.
214  Other / Meta / Re: Where's the new forum Theymos? on: June 18, 2013, 03:30:23 PM
Did he clearly state that?
That there will be no refunds? Nope, not yet.

Was there a separate address for this "new forum" or everyone just donated to default one?
That's also a pretty good question.
Seems all donations are bundled into the same wallet, even if the addresses may in fact be different. Donations made that also carried "titles" such as "Donator" or "VIP" were made to custom addresses I believe.
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why BitCoin is about to explode again on: June 18, 2013, 03:27:44 PM
I know the cultists will hate me saying this, but what's more likely-- a bank in your home country stealing your money or the price of bitcoin tanking as it's still a beta project of nerds that even the main developer says "don't put more into it than you can afford to lose"?
216  Economy / Services / Re: [Contest] 0.1 BTC for a quick logo on: June 18, 2013, 03:23:35 PM
if any artist doesn't feel like working for nothing, he can also show me his portfolio and if I like it I will be happy to choose him!

Good man. Everyone, submit your portfolio to him and let that speak for you.

It sucks, I know. Just spend a few minutes and make a few posts

Or use http://newbiejail.org

Actually I was talking about this post
A legal attack on the forum because people talk about Bitcoin? Wth are you smoking?
Oh, sorry then. Use quotes next time!

In response to their response, I think it's clear they just don't understand what happens on these forums. It's like calling congress a "big hall of just discussion of laws and stuff".
For now at least

Also, about the topic, I'm curious to know what theymos ever said about all this money because I never really followed all this drama
A very short sum up would be nice
Did he said anything about possible refunds?

With so many cultists defending his actions and not willing to take an objective look at the bigger picture here, it is likely entirely out of the realm of possibilities, or  at least as likely as giving BFL a scammer tag. I fully support a stand against this forum's revenue by creating the "better" forum Theymos never bothered to in 12 months time with all our money. I think the lack of progress should be met with a reaction fitting for a community that pretends to love the free market.
