1081  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: May 01, 2013, 05:33:02 PM
Hey, why aren't you starting a list, a blog, something?

Can't start another list until I'm done with the last one.
1082  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FRAUD/SCAM ALERT ED TRICE, Liquid Nitrogen Overclocking Inc on: May 01, 2013, 04:33:57 PM
So he lost 50000 euros (not his) in the past and lost 50000 USD (maybe his) last month. I think a scammer tag would be prudent so people know not to do business with a two-time loser.

You mean a victim tag?

For claiming not to be Ed Trice, you sure do care an awful lot about vilifying the person he stole $47,227 from and you never seem to mention your feelings about Ed Trice either. Interesting.

1086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: David Chaum? Adam Back? Who would be a good figure for a Bitcoin illustration? on: May 01, 2013, 10:05:33 AM
Dude, just use a generic male human silhouette as a representation of satoshi. Or better yet, use cryptography symbols.

Not really an option with this particular illustration. Needs a human face, even if it's going to be a lame Guy Fawkes mask (which I'm trying to avoid for being over-done and agenda riddled).

Challenge thus accepted, and I elect to choose the weapon of your demise!

1088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / David Chaum? Adam Back? Who would be a good figure for a Bitcoin illustration? on: May 01, 2013, 10:01:38 AM
Title says it all. I'm working on an illustration and wanted to include some relative figures for bitcoin. This illustration will probably be viewed by millions of people over the next year. Unfortunately, Satoshi wasn't kind enough to let us know who he was or what he looked like, so I'm forced to look deeper than than into cryptography, e-cash, hashcash, etc in general.

Who do you think represents the fundementals of bitcoin (cryptography, economics, politics, open source and/or decentralized technology) that someone from the outside world should know about, and someone from inside Bitcoin would appreciate?
1089  Other / Off-topic / Re: Testing thread, please ignore on: May 01, 2013, 09:37:34 AM
I had refused your request to ignore this and have subsequently chosen to post!

Good day sir! I said good day!
1090  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That one Bitcoin Guy on: May 01, 2013, 07:53:25 AM
Try being that guy in a whole country. It gets difficult giving advice when the majority of questions are "Should I buy BFL?".

How is it difficult to give advice to something like that? "No" should suffice Grin

What I mean to say is, the majority of interest from outside parties these days is relative to investment rather than usage. It becomes difficult giving any advice to people once you learn they're trying to translate everything you say into investment advice.

Whether or not I'm funny is subjective and highly debatable, what is for certain is that humor is wasted on this community. Once you realize that, distinguishing between being a shithead for laughs and being a shithead for lack of anything better to do becomes increasingly difficult.

For the record, I've always had something better to do. When I'm not posting something funny, it's because I'm busy doing it.
1093  Other / Meta / Re: 100,000 Bitcointalk Users on: May 01, 2013, 05:41:44 AM
I was absolutely positive you were Yolocoin.
Probably an SA goon.

Moot of 4chan gave a good argument for anonymity, saying that you're able to learn lessons without being villianized and that everyone should be allowed to ask questions without worrying about the consequences. I agree with this, but this community seems to think that applies to business and transactions as well. Making mistakes under my real name is absolutely fine with me because it gives people a point of reference for how well I've come along in my life later on. Since I'm not a scammer, the only thing I have to "worry" about really are trolls who take what I say and try to twist it against me later. This form of criticism, of course, also helps me to learn how to speak more precisely, so I take it as a good thing.

To a better brighter future Smiley

Amen to that!

Not that I'd bother doing something that grandiose again (I learned my lesson with pranking people when money is involved), but something tells me with the amount of on this forum, nothing you say would stop anyone from participating. I've been calling out scams since 2010. There's never a shortage of idiots on these forums (which is why it's a waste of time judging site owners based on loose affiliations with people who say "nigger" rather than dealing with the immense amount of actual scammers out there).

Disclaimer: I find numerous actions by MP to be inappropriate, but so is gambling, drinking, smoking, cursing, lying, hiding behind Tor, shitposting, ego, sockpuppets, etc.
1096  Other / Meta / Re: 100,000 Bitcointalk Users on: May 01, 2013, 04:30:43 AM
Matt maybe 10

I've never created a sockpuppet account, so you can go ahead and make Atlas's 30.

Oh come on dude. As many times as you've been banned and especially during the whole Goat website fiasco. Everyone is tempted to do it during a ban. No one would hold it against you.

Whatever you say Yolocoin. LOL

Nope. Ask Theymos. The only accounts I've ever logged into are mine and DialCoin's (which isn't use anymore because DialCoin is out of business). During bans I usually just get back to work.

(I'm surprised as many posts of mine you've read you didn't know how adamantly against anonymity, sockpuppets and enabling them I am)
1097  Other / Meta / Re: 100,000 Bitcointalk Users on: May 01, 2013, 04:24:58 AM
Atlas represents about 20 of those, Matt maybe 10

I don't have sockpuppet accounts, so you can go ahead and make Atlas's 30. I'm pretty sure half of the users here are scammers or trolls biding their time.
1098  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: May 01, 2013, 04:19:11 AM
Since you seem to be turning this into a list of morality instead of fair gambling sites, I've taken the liberty of creating an add-on legend for you.

Moral Legend:

  • = Sells shares in their site through a second party whose owner used the word "Nigger" in a blog
  • = Admin owns and watches pornography of a tentacle nature
  • = Admin is greedy and likes money way too much
  • = Admin eats too many unhealthy foods and doesn't exercise properly
  • = Admin enjoys roleplay or BDSM and potentially cheats on spouse
  • = Admin has a big ego and is generally not a nice person to converse with

..words..

I don't care what you're trying to do, I care that you told everyone on this forum that anything and everything *they* are doing will be ineffective in relation to your own "work". When you stop doing *that*, you'll find that people will be more receiving of your efforts.

Stop trying to defend your little project and start realizing that the way you're talking about your project is *wrong* and will continue to attract the wrong kind of attention. Call me a troll, call the next chap a troll, call the whole world trolls .Whatever it takes to refuse to learn, right?

Edit: Please do not respond to this with another grandiose diatribe on how you're doing the lord's work. As I have always been, I'm referring to the way you present yourself. I couldn't give a rat's ass how you think I present myself, as I'm not trying to pitch something as being the end-all-solution to anything. Get a clue. You could have saved yourself like 20 posts so far.

You will always be welcome to contribute content at any time Matt. Thanks

That's a much better response!

Come back after Summer when we are over 10k

Aww, so close.  Undecided
