Matt, we are at 1100 subscribers now.

And?

You're super excited, I get that. If you want a thread to be stickied, why don't you create a thread outlining each course/video so that people can actually use it without leaving these forums. Anything else is spam and self promotion.
962  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: (Day 3 Ignored by the Mods and Now in Forbes Magazine) Free Bitcoin Course on: May 13, 2013, 08:08:14 PM
Matonis (who also worked with my Bitcoin magazine) is a good writer with a strong history in the business. He enjoys contributing to just about anything that he can. That does not however mean that one of his pieces on Forbes.com's website "is in Forbes magazine". The misleading title, the demands to appreciate and sticky your threads just because you wrote them..

Congrats. Your ego is second only to Atlas on these forums now.

(Pro-tip: that's not a compliment; Atlas is a misguided, annoying, entitled snot who thinks his opinions are worth more than anyone else's)

964  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALERT USER "AlternativeCypt" on: May 13, 2013, 04:59:59 PM
How does this guy not have a scammer tag yet....I reported the thread he created to the mods last night (since he locked it) and yet they allow this BS to continue!

Because I never scammed him. I sent him the 20K PWC when I said I did. He clearly took that screen shot before I sent him the coins.

Woops, I meant to send that as a PM to somebody else.

Managing sockpuppet scammer accounts can be confusing I suppose.
965  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 63 GH/s Thing on ebay? on: May 13, 2013, 03:47:18 PM
This is brilliant, the seller is in the Czech Republic, so am I, I'm gunna email him and ask if he will allow me to do a local pick up and see what he says.   Wink Wink Wink Wink

My guess is his response will be akin to:

"Sorry, I need take flight tomorrow so no can give but shipping company know how ship just trust ok??"
966  Economy / Scam Accusations / Cheater accusation: Surpbitcoin. on: May 13, 2013, 08:38:52 AM
The user Surpbitcoin created a binding auction thread to sell an Avalon Batch 3 pre-order. Disclaimer: I am not involved in that auction in any way, just happened to notice it and am reporting it.

Right before the auction was meant to end, he backed out on the high bidder. That said, he is not a scammer. Scams are relative to confidence schemes etc. Cheating is depriving someone of something expected. This auction was expected to end with the item sold to the highest bidder.

Code:
auc·tion  [awk-shuhn]
noun: Also called public sale. a publicly held sale at which property or goods are sold to the highest bidder.

Code:
cheat  [cheet]
verb: to elude; deprive of something expected:

Hello guys,

I think I'm getting my hands on a bunch of batch 2 Avalons. I decided to sell one of my pre orders for a batch 3 unit. It has the PSU and 3 Mods.

Its order number 66XX paid in full 2013/03/25 and is being shipped to Canada. Once I get the rig I will un-box it, start it up and run it while videotaping it and posting it to youtube to prove that it is a working rig. Once that's complete I will send you the rig within 24 Hours and I'll use the fastest shipping I can find for < 150CAD.

I reserve the right to remove this auction at any time because the unit is being sold locally as well as on these forums. I will run this auction for 1 week at which time it will either have sold locally or on here to the highest bidder. Minimum bid increments of 0.5BTC.

Good Luck

Surp

Best bid so far is 78.5 BTC.

I will keep this auction running for now and wont close the auction without giving at least 72 hours notice. I dont have the machine yet, so no reason to end the auction.

Good Luck

85btc

Auction end date: May 13th

I'm ending this auction, I have decided to go another direction with this unit. Thanks for coming out though.

come on man,im the winning bidder so far !
thats so wrong!

Sorry man, things just did not work out the way I had planned.

I meant no harm!

967  Bitcoin / Hardware / Avalon batch [3] countdown! on: May 13, 2013, 08:22:51 AM

Batch 3's shipping date (advertised as May 5st, 2013) has passed. It has been speculated that considering both Batch 2 and 3 are now both past their advertised shipping deadlines, and with no solid updates by any BitSyncom representatives, that both will likely be shipped at the same time or in quick succession. You can use this thread to keep track of batch 3 shipments!

I'll start the ball rolling.

Screenshots are not definitive proof of anything. Post addresses and, if available, transaction IDs. Addresses should suffice.

I can only assume you're talking about the newbies here (in which case I agree), but when you've been an active member here for 2 years and started numerous businesses, I think it's alright to have a feedback/reputation thread to help clean the forums up, consolidate feedback, and provide a transparent medium for both positive and negative feedback.

edit: Also, apologies if my thread had started the trend.

MPOE representatives are a bunch of lying, scummy, scam artists who simply refuse to provide a simple answer to a simple question with regards to a bad bet on BitBet. I have no idea why you would want to associate yourself with them, but because of that association, I will not be using your service and will be encouraging others to follow suit.

Could you link or reference in some way what you're referring to? I honestly have no idea what you're talking about but would like to know more.

Also, off-topic to this thread but boycotts don't work.

Sure, here you go. Also, here's the bet in question. As you can see, MPOE employees are clearly lying scumbags trying to rip people off.

Wait a second..I'm starting to see a pattern here in looking at your posts in that thread, but I will not jump the gun and ask questions first:

1) what made you think that bitbet had anything to do with MPOE, and MPOE-PR wasn't just a concerned bystander sharing their opinion (this would not make them a scammer)?
2) what made you think that BFL actually delivered?

Love the avatar! Despite originally being for SellAnApp, it fits Bitcoin beautifully! (It outlines that Bitcoin is basically money being spent in computer processing, electricity, hardware, etc, in order to make money that can be taken from your computer).

Excellent timing!
I'll be driving through DC on my way back from Detroit -- funding a monorail project there, I'm excited!  Bitcoin @30%/week + free monorail rides for life!  Meet me around 8pm on Monday  -- at Wendy's, the one off 495 off-ramp, right next to the cheap Getty station, not the one next to Midas Muffler -- you know the one.  If we agree on the terms (same deal as the monorail guy: about 1000BTC @about 30% (thirty per cent percent %) per week interest, compounded ... oh, weekly or thereabouts, and your word of honor to pay back just about everything in something like five (Five) years ), I will buy you a sandwich of your choice, small fries OR coleslaw + 1 large beverage.  My treat.  Deal? oktxbi

If you don't like the public perception about black-markets and gambling then try to change that, and the best way to do that would be if it were not TRUE.
What's exactly your point? How is buying drugs with Bitcoin different than buying them with dollars?

When is the last time you saw someone purchase illegal drugs online with dollars?
