202  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Buying S5 from Bitmain Batch on: June 08, 2015, 03:18:58 PM

Looking at geting ths Antminer S3 or S5.

Sure S5 is your choice.

To reduce the noise you can buy 2 less noisy fans. Many of people here prefer Delta fans, but you are not limited here with this vendor; you can compare a characteristics of Delta fans here to start - look for fans like AFB1212HHE-TP02, AFB1212VHEX01 (a little more noisy).

Also do not forget that S5 cooling probably need to be modified. New S5s sometimes content little radiators from "external" side of PCB, where the little copper plates are placed. These are the right place for BM1384 chips to dissipate heat from.

The plates marked with little red circles (the picture is not mine) are without radiators.

With such little radiators the hashing blade became cooler, so the controller reduces fan's speed, which lead to noise reduction. You are free choosing the radiators, but their base dimension should no exceed the dimension of that copper plate. For the safety reason.

Do you have an ebay link for these heatsinks / radiators? I would be interested in these. My S5s fans have their ar$es on fire since summer started.
203  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: When difficulty go down earnings go up or down? on: June 05, 2015, 04:37:42 AM
i think diff will never go down. always up up and up
no chance to get profit with low capital and low skill.

Look at a difficulty chart. It's gone down a few times. In fact, the last change was -2.5%!
Enjoy the 'low' difficulty while it lasts...16nm gear hitting the streets momentarily :/

Can you tell more about this? Any other detail? Any date?

UP, considering all other parameters stay same.
What are the others parameters? I am telling with the same ghs. I don't know which can be the other parameters.
Luck is a considerable parameter.
What  I have seen happen in pools is that bitcoin blocks are discovered in booms (lots of blocks are solved in close succession) and rarity (hardly any block is solved for some time) even though the mining speed and difficulty remain constant. Usually after a streak of bad luck comes a period when lots of blocks are solved in close succession. Thats why there are pool hopping measures in place.

You can consider the technology already failed horribly as it has been surpassed by several altcoins on every aspect that is important for mainstream adoption.
It's the network not the bla-coins. No alt can hold a candle to btc network right now.

Bitcoin rallies are worse than a sniper. It lurks around until the last moment, and takes out shorts by the dozens.

Those were indeed fun times (MtGox / Dwolla) days. I remember ordering more 6950s.

215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Slap, slap, slap! on: June 01, 2015, 10:42:21 AM
You guys really don't reallize you're being slapped around by hackers and early adopters. They will keep on doing these 2-5k dumps until the resistance is so low it triggers a cascade. They will buy back at the bottom, wait for you all to pump back the price again in ignorance and repeat.
Free, free, free: advice!!! Thanks but no thanks
216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stable, stable, stable! on: June 01, 2015, 10:39:34 AM
You honestly think btc can be stable wich such intense drama in the background with a hard fork about to happen and completely disrupt the system?
What you're seeing now is called cognitive dissonance,  it leads people to say and do insane things,  of which this forum has ample proof.

We don't even need a hard fork at this moment to bring this thing down 50%. The sheer tension is enough,  one minor action can trigger a cascade of panic. That is why it's not moving,  that is why there is such low volume. Pure fear.

What were you doing when BTC was on a streak of 5USD  for several months? Stable runs have happened in the past.
Increasing the Block size is called evolution / scaling. Welcome to the age of software.

The price of BTC is going to continue its stable multi-week run.

US justice system is working perfectly, and US is winning the war on drugs.
220  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-05-29] CD: Silk Road Operator Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: May 30, 2015, 04:48:11 AM
It is possible that one day soon enough, society changes to the point that a new authority pardons Ross. I'm hoping.
إن شاء الله
