1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin entering the mainstream FINALLY? on: November 10, 2013, 12:38:30 PM
The hype / awareness is reaching a critical mass. I think at least 1 in 20  persons who are connected through the Internet have an inkling about BTC. Casual users have yet to catch on. It's like how Facebook was in 2006 or Google in 2000.
1022  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoincharts hacked? on: November 10, 2013, 12:35:08 PM
Same here.

Luddite x 1E8

P2P is distributed, why to repeat??
Code:
Being distributed is no advantage.
Being P2P is no advantage.

why my deposit not showing up??? I emailed you and also PMed you 24 hours ago!
IS THIS A SCAM???

Be patient. It may take a while because of the amount of emails that the site is getting.

DO NOT DEPOSIT HERE!

It's been over 48 hours for me and still no money or reply to emails.  I don't see many bets being placed either.  I bet they got hacked. (OK, probably not, but they need to address this issue as if it was a BFD.)

If your card is working great can you please post the output of MemtestCL. it's kind of like a memory test for GPU

https://simtk.org/project/xml/downloads.xml?group_id=385

Both my Sapphire R9 290X with Elpida Memory chips throw lots of errors

The errors are in     Random blocks Test
Random blocks: 985 errors (0 ms)
Code:
Test iteration 6 on 128 MiB of memory on device 0 (Hawaii): 0 errors so far
Moving Inversions (ones and zeros): 0 errors (0 ms)
Moving Inversions (random): 0 errors (16 ms)
        Memtest86 Walking 8-bit: 0 errors (31 ms)
True Walking zeros (8-bit): 0 errors (16 ms)
True Walking ones (8-bit): 0 errors (15 ms)
        Memtest86 Walking zeros (32-bit): 0 errors (78 ms)
        Memtest86 Walking ones (32-bit): 0 errors (63 ms)
Random blocks: 985 errors (0 ms)
        Memtest86 Modulo-20: 0 errors (171 ms)
Logic (one iteration): 0 errors (0 ms)
        Logic (4 iterations): 0 errors (0 ms)
Logic (local memory, one iteration): 0 errors (16 ms)
Logic (local memory, 4 iterations): 0 errors (0 ms)

You will always get errors because the original memtestcl is broken... you should use the fixed one from svn.

aahh okay, thanks a lot. No wonder memtest did not show any errors on my 6970 .
1026  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Bitfury H-boards <$400 on: November 09, 2013, 11:04:14 AM
Wait until they lower the price..$400 is a bit pricey..but if you can find someone willing to sell all the best of luck to you.

They just sold for ~$330 in the EU site. So that should be the current price point IMO.

Yep, I'd buy some for $300 to $330 if there were any still left.

The new gen h-boards are really nice btw; they hash at 38GH stock.

Thanks for that info, I guess they all got used up for the 100TH mine

Both my SAPPHIRE 290X come with Elpida Memory and are duds wrt scrypt mining. Anything above 550Kh/s comes with lots of HW errors.

1035  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Selfish Pool Watch on: November 08, 2013, 07:16:26 PM
pools which come out of a bad-luck period followed by a very good-luck spree, especially if two or more blocks are solved back to back instantly may qualify.

USD 1000 could be a huge psychological resistance, aka dump time.
1038  Economy / Securities / Re: [PicoStocks] 100TH/s bitcoin mine [100th] on: November 08, 2013, 02:43:52 PM
We are also seeing more orphaned blocks than before - usually this was very rare.  Jared is looking into it.
Manifestation of someone selfish-mining?
