201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: January 08, 2024, 09:33:49 AM
No one will feel happy, enjoy or fun after they lose their bet, but gambling isn't only reacts the result.

So if you not feel happy before gambling (analyze), during gambling (watch the match/screen), and the result (lose or win), you shouldn't gamble at all because you're only want to win. Gambling is all about luck, there's no way you can win streaks.
That's true because most people will feel happy if they win and feel disappointed when they lose, but if they gamble for entertainment then the gambler will accept defeat or win because gambling is a game using real money and the owner wants to make a profit so it's natural that someone will experience continuous defeat and they have to be able to accept it, they will always continue to enjoy gambling even though they lose because the most important thing is to limit your expenses so that this enjoyment does not turn into disappointment if you spend too much money.

Yes, gamblers should think about the chances of losing so they don't really hope to win, because gambling with skill cannot guarantee that someone will win for sure, they will always be faced with defeat, so if you want to gamble then prepare yourself mentally to accept defeat.
I agree, and as a responsible gambler, it is natural that we lose. To be really honest, though, losing when gambling isn't pleasant at all. When we gamble, the entertainment value of the action itself, in addition to the chance of winning, generally provides us with thrills and delights. There is always the risk that we may lose money when we gamble, which is why we set budgets and limits and acknowledge that this is possible. However, we do kind of love the excitement, fulfillment, and pleasure that the game offers.

I don't know, but because of the challenge or the rush of adrenaline, some people could experience a certain amount of thrill and happiness even if they lose. Depending on each person, this can change.
We must put ethical gambling first and avoid basing our enjoyment on winning or losing.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: January 08, 2024, 06:34:33 AM
~snip~
As parents, we don't want to see our children exposed to gambling at a young age because it will affect their mental health and will carry over into adulthood. It is indeed sad to see children who have started gambling because they are not yet fit for gambling and they should still be under the guidance and supervision of their parents. But this is also influenced by the condition of the surrounding environment, where if there are friends who have started gambling, there is a possibility that this will affect other children. For this reason, we as parents must be able to provide guidance, direction and supervision to our children so that they are not exposed to gambling. We as parents also have to be careful if we want to gamble. Don't let our children see it so they become curious and want to know what we are doing.
Well, that one of the impacts of children who are addicted to gambling, as adults say, when they experience bad things such as losing streaks and so on, it can affect their mental health and of course make them unable to control themselves.
Just imagine what would happen if children who clearly don't know good from bad or don't know anything about self-control have to face mental stress caused by the effects of gambling.
It will be very dangerous, of course this will greatly affect the mind and stability of child brain development.

Today I heard quite interesting story from people who were gathered in front of the house, they are my neighbors.
They were talking about lottery bets because one of them managed to win fairly large amount of around $650, he won the lottery on 4 numbers that actually came out exactly the same.
There was one of them whose son was 16 years old and had followed what his father did, namely betting on the lottery, one of them asked what happened to his son who now often buys lottery tickets.
And there was quite surprising answer where he said that it wasn't problem, getting predicted numbers in the lottery requires complicated calculations and uses mathematics so predicting the lottery would be the same as learning science or mathematical formulas.
I was shocked and thought why parent could say something like that when they found out their child also liked lottery betting.

I think he is stupid parent and doesn't care about his child future, because maybe now he is just betting on the lottery but in the future it will definitely be much worse.
The odds of winning the lottery are so slim that some people are likely in debt or are looking for someone to lend them money even though they are unable to purchase basic needs. This is because they have become devastated and have developed a delusional belief that they will win the lottery, even though their chances of winning are only 1% out of billions of people who participated in the lottery.

However, as you guys pointed out, parents serve as their children's primary role models. Therefore, it makes sense that if a parent starts boasting about his winnings to a friend, the child will hear about it, become inspired by his father, and perhaps even want to imitate him. Which is unfortunate, I suppose, as his son may become overly naive and believe that winning the lottery will bring him easy money. In that case, he may still think of evil ideas like stealing and learning how to borrow money from others, or he may develop many vices as a result of being influenced by friends when he is still young. The parent will struggle to stop their child from doing what he is doing.

In actuality, there is nothing wrong with placing a lottery wager; the only thing that should be avoided is the involvement of kids, since they are obviously inexperienced with how it works. That is the one significant error that the parent has been thinking about from the start.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mental rehabilitation clinic. on: January 08, 2024, 01:20:43 AM
As a concerned citizen, perhaps we should recognize the negative impacts of gambling in our lives if we overindulge and go beyond our limits. I am not a medical expert.  Gambling addicts usually don't follow what other people say and advise them. What is our purpose then or our arguments to them if they still don't obey what we will say, for the sake of their mental health and well-being? It will be useless. Since experts are the ones with the most knowledge in this area, I believe that professionals should have this conversation rather than basing it just on our personal opinions.
Honestly, it might take time and effort to overcome a gambling addiction since it is a process, and recovery should be approached with perseverance, patience, and a readiness to ask for assistance when necessary.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on favorites early in the week & underdogs late in the week strategy... on: January 08, 2024, 12:54:59 AM
It may even work out well for you. There's nothing to lose by giving the strategy a shot. If you bet on favorites early in the week or underdogs late in the week, you will typically examine your choices since we base our decisions on how the odds for favorites and underdogs are moving in sports betting. Having said that, it's crucial to remember that there are many complicated sports betting strategies out there and that winning at betting often requires an in-depth understanding of the particular sport, team, and betting markets. Like any gambling, there are risks associated with sports betting, and there is no surefire way to be successful.
205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on: January 08, 2024, 12:09:11 AM
You might be able to guess the game's outcome if you can predict the algorithm when playing at an online casino. But it's important to remember that online casinos might employ advanced encryption technology along with random number generators to guarantee fair gameplay and prohibit players from guessing the results of any given game. It won't be simple either since, as I'm sure you know, there are advanced security systems in place to track player behavior and, of course, they can identify any suspicious activity occurring in your account.
You have no match for them because the house is always in the favor and will ensure that you do not win more than you can afford to.
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: January 07, 2024, 02:28:41 PM
It depends on your state of mind, gambling plays a lot with peoples mind, and it's capable of imprisoning the mind if you let it, if you find it hard to quit gambling, you are already a pawn to gambling, you are not in control of yourself anymore and the quicker you hate been control by something else the faster you will break free.
It could cause us to have compulsive thoughts about gambling and become unable to concentrate on other aspects of our lives if we are unable to proactivate it. Due to the unpredictability of gambling results, our emotions are constantly in flux. If we win, it can create feelings of excitement and euphoria, while if we lose it can result in frustration, anger and sadness. Our mental health and general well-being may be severely impacted by these emotional swings. Imagine yourself in a difficult-to-evade maze where you have to search for openings in order to avoid falling victim to its traps.

I believe that gambling is good if all you want is some fun, I can place bet on games among my friend just to make the experience more fun, but gambling against the casino is different, you are not playing with another human like yourself but the machines, how hard can it be for me to say no when I feel like I can't afford to lose money in gambling?
Perhaps you might try playing cards or board games instead of the machines as they require strategy, skill, and decision-making, and I believe that playing with others makes them more enjoyable. We play these more for fun, thus we usually use them to start a conversation and laughter.  Wink
207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: January 07, 2024, 12:09:42 PM
I don't know about you OP and it's a matter of subjectivity in opinion so please don't get offended, I don't think that buying a television set is a responsible way to spend your money because there's other ways that you could have optimized that money that you've won to further increase your savings via investment of that win into something which is most likely bitcoin for you, the reason why I don't think that it's a responsible way to spend the win is that technology depreciates in value but that's just my opinion, you can always do what you've got to do and it seems that you're much happier than you usual with this purchase so I guess you're spending that money wisely and congratulations to that big win, that's one hell of an odds to get that much money.
Though his actions may not seem responsible to you, they can be seen as an accomplishment because, at the very least, he didn't waste his money on silly items, and he finds great satisfaction in the fact that, even with the small items he purchased, he can demonstrate his accomplishments and have a memento of his winnings from gambling, and that is by purchasing a smart TV. When it comes to investing our money or spending it on something we think we can use around the house, we all have different tastes and opinions. Similar to when you receive a paycheck from your job, you consider how you may use the money to further your own interests. You won't be able to support your hard work if you spend it on anything without considering where it will go.
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: January 07, 2024, 03:33:33 AM
I have come across Local gamblers who are addicted to gambling and had ruined their selves by themselves til they ran bankrupt yet they borrows money to gamble at all means even While being indebted.
Theses sets of gamblers doesn't have remorse nor conscience about their gambling lifestyles instead their friends and relatives are the ones who bears the shameful consequences the addicted gambler brought to their circle of relationships.
At the virtue of getting the unbearable situations to an end, the relatives broadcasts the chronic addicted gambler at all costs of gambling boards never to give him privileges to gamble in any of the Gambling arenas anymore else they (the relatives) would sue the gambling boards owner.
This is just how recklessness could mess your life of you can't take control to gamble responsibly.

Take note and be aware that your way of gambling could affect your relationships and the circle of your relatives.
Generally speaking, our loved ones would be upset, angry, or concerned, especially if we developed a gambling addiction and our actions and behavior radically changed. Because of the wrongdoings of the gambling addict—you mentioned that he was indebted to someone—they would feel deceived, and their family and relatives would be the ones who suffer and worry about the financial load. In simple terms, they seem to be in emotional turmoil.
Additionally, there's a chance that he or she will borrow money from family members to feed their gambling addiction. We are seriously endangering ourselves if we cannot maintain self-control and discipline.

It's reassuring to know that the family alerted the gaming board to deny him access to any gaming establishments going forward. This will allow him to be held accountable for his actions and develop self-control. They are like the stray cats in the world, and the way to tame them is that you must catch them, train them, and discipline them.

Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ?  If not, how much you think is sufficient to retire as Gambling winning ?
Gambling is not a career where you can make a lot of money, so even if you win big, you can't just quit. It will also rely on the individual's financial objectives and way of life. Some wealthy people even like to gamble just for recreational purposes, seeing it as a means of relaxing and taking time away from their hectic schedules. Then you're here, thinking about how much money you can win from gambling so you can retire Cheesy Also, there are others who, even if they win, use their winnings to wager on the game they play and eventually lose. It was almost like a cycle, so I don't think any of us gamblers could ever truly retire from gambling or even have sufficient funds to retire from it.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: January 06, 2024, 02:22:54 PM
Howdy! I commend you for being a responsible gambler, OP, and I wish you continued success. It can be really thrilling to win a sizable sum of money, and occasionally our emotions become uncontrollable, and we might desire more. In order to secure ongoing financial stability, it is crucial that we manage our winnings appropriately. For example, paying off debts will free up cash and prevent us from having to pay interest. We can also establish a savings plan that will enable us to accumulate savings and prevent financial stress in the future. It is pleasing to see that you have shown some of your progress and provided proof that you did not burn away the money you won from gambling.  With the money you win from gambling, you could easily get a new television for your living room, which is a significant accomplishment. I'm sure your family is also happy, in the same way as you.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gamblers do retired betting gambles on: January 06, 2024, 01:36:29 PM
In fact, I believe that it relies on the person himself if he is strong and knowledgeable enough. To put it another way, if you can still clearly recall past games you played when you were younger, then you will never be able to retire from gambling. Some people continue to gamble well into their late 50s, and I believe this is because they want to reach their goals or because it may be their sole source of income, particularly when they are living alone. In order to avoid losing money when they gamble, they need to be able to balance; otherwise, they risk being starving while wandering on the road. As we grow older, we have different interests and habits that we can discover, this includes gambling and if this activity starts to have a negative impact on our mentality or our physical health then we should consider retiring from it.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: January 06, 2024, 11:22:31 AM
One of the solutions which is recommended by most gamblers on this forum for gambling addiction is "Therapy" .

This is the most expensive solution for gambling addiction but also the most effective at the same time. Therapy is quite expensive especially if you are from country like US. Maybe this kind of service is cheap in 3rd world country if you will compared it to US rate but it’s still expensive in contrary if you will just control yourself. Don’t pay internet connection for example or have your wife monitor you so that you will not gamble.

I’m expecting this kind of suggestion here when I read the title but the content shows the most expensive method but the best in my opinion if money is not a problem.
My friend has spent a lot of money on therapy but it hasn't made any changes to his gambling habits. I think it's true what you said, at least using a cheaper method involving the family would be better in my opinion, for example, just reduce it slowly and increase other activities. something more positive, for example exercising or doing other things, I'm sure this method can reduce it even if it doesn't stop completely.

It is not easy to cure gambling addiction and it takes time to cure it, another friend of mine managed to cure himself by reducing his gambling and also involving his friends and even his family. Finally he managed to stop gambling completely and never even tried to gamble in a gambling house. I think it's a time-consuming process but in my opinion it's better than paying.  Cheesy
If he keeps playing and gambling well, no matter how much your therapy costs, there won't be any improvement, and your friend was merely wasting his money. Also, there's a chance that we will become bored during therapy sessions or that we will have to wait on other patients. While you're waiting, you might be thinking to yourself, "What if I get to play for a while? I won't be noticed anyway." After all, gambling can be done both in person and online. Thus, no matter how much the therapist suggests, you will never be able to put it into practice.

The majority of the cases of gambling addiction that I have observed in my nation have involved individuals who were able to overcome their addiction with the support of their families. When it comes to family, they are the ones who will make you feel guilty, and, therefore, you will be worried that they may abandon you. Indeed, I've seen it as a successful strategy to break their gambling habit, and I understand that their family is threatening them in that way.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What triggers the zeal to invest? on: January 06, 2024, 10:56:47 AM
Why not make an investment if you are knowledgeable about bitcoin and the state of the market? OP, I believe it would be better if you just tried to determine whether you are able to manage it by making a tiny investment so that it won't break your wallet, rather than observing those who bought bitcoin and took the plunge without thinking twice. Since I continue to deal with numerous personal issues and a lot of challenges, I have not yet made an investment in bitcoin, but I do want to try. However, the time is not ideal for me to do so. I believe that my understanding of bitcoin is insufficient for me to invest in it at this time without learning a great deal about it. I sincerely hope you will exercise patience when beginning your bitcoin investment, unlike other people who can't wait to get rich quickly and then regret their decision. You are welcome to give it a try, and if you do, do keep us informed. Who knows? maybe it will inspire us to begin investing in bitcoin as well.
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: January 05, 2024, 04:36:16 PM
You can't be sure you'll be secure whether you visit a casino in person or online. Online scams and cheating are also possible. For example, if we win, the site may not promptly cash out our winnings, and our account may experience several issues. If hackers discover that we have a sizable amount in our account, there's also a chance that they may target us. On the other hand, if we go to offline casinos, we might be a target for robbers, we can also face threats from our opponents in the game, especially those who are heavily indebted and owe other players money.

When it comes to money, though, I would much rather play at an offline casino because, from what I've seen, most people who visit them do so with friends or other people who share a passion for gambling. Therefore, if they go there, they may control how much money they bring, which will help them from losing too much because, of course, there is a limit to how much they can play with because it will depend on how much money they carry. Your pals will accompany you home if you win, allowing them to enjoy themselves while you carry the winning cash. Additionally, finding a butler to watch over you when you gamble is simple if you're a big-timer. Unlike playing online, you can easily access your account and your bank account, and you won't notice if your bankroll is gradually decreasing if you develop a gambling addiction.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: January 05, 2024, 03:25:16 PM
They need to stay away from places where they often gamble and delete all the websites they usually play on. Keep your mind busy, or find another game to forget about gambling. It would be great if there were relatives or friends to support and help them during this period. As long as they have determination, I believe they can do it.

Even though self-exclusion from gambling websites and even from the locations where people typically bet can be simple, I believe it's a useful strategy for avoiding any gambling-related activities. This can assist people who are addicted to gambling in building a barrier and restricting their gaming opportunities, like setting their limits and voluntarily banning themselves from participating in gambling. I agree with the idea that we can seek out or reach out to our family and friends who can provide us with emotional support and understanding, as they are the only ones who can easily discourage us in order for us to stop that kind of habit. (if blood can be thicker than water).

What are the other low cost but very effective solutions to gambling addiction. And typically how long will it take before the addict starts to feel more in control and less withdrawal symptoms?
Will totally appreciate your responses. Thanks.

Taking up alternative activities that can bring us greater happiness and fulfillment than gambling, such as spending time with our loved ones, exercising, or picking up new hobbies that can help us escape from our addiction and unwind, is something else we can think about when trying to overcome our gambling addiction. The reason for this is that if someone's goal is to get over a habit of gambling, they ought to understand the importance of self-care and act responsibly (if they have changed). Actually, it takes a lot of time, so if you want to avoid returning to your pre-gambling addiction state, you should learn how to stop yourself and have patience with yourself.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: January 05, 2024, 09:15:41 AM
I'd like to hear from those of you who have experienced this or are still dealing with it. Please share your testimonies.
I also gambled for a while when i working professionally but at that moment i lost many things. It was no big deal that I lost bets most of the time. But there is a huge loss in my working performance. When I work, I think that if I get some extra money from gambling besides work, that money will support me a lot but when I go to work with bets, I see again and again what my gambling position is and at one point when my bets are on gambling. I lose my enthusiasm when things go bad position. At that time there were many mistakes in my work which I realised. So, in my opinion a gambler must set a specific time for betting. Gambling should not be done in official time that affects gambling and personal life.
It is not always good to combine your work with gambling because of the emotions involved in it.Because your mental ability will be affected when you have lose a game,it isn't always adviceable to combine the two. Those who have combined it before will say it more better, but all I know about it is that one's mental health is very important when it has to deal with gambling, this is because in most of the cases, people lose rather than win, which makes it more tough and complicated. It is always very good to set a time difference between when gambling will come into play, and when you have to be serious with your work, because that is what provides money.

They will always be affected because there is not 100% concentration and that is already a bad thing, we as players need total concentration to be able to play our game well, that is something that we must be clear about, at the moment that we are at work and we want some extra money, I think the last thing you should consider is playing while you are there, unless you sacrifice lunch time to do it and that is something not viable, because we need to eat to have energy, I'm talking about the time lunch because our hours at work are sacred and should not be experienced doing anything other than working, so this is what I think can be done, but I would still say something, in the casino you can make some money , but risking a lot of money, I think it is a reckless activity because of what it involves doing, nothing like doing it from home and with money willing to lose, and it is not necessary to take money and some money.

Well, when we think about the idea that we should go beyond this, it is something that we should not because we remember that mentally our work is in our mind, and if we try to invent things within the work and considering that we are going to neglect Some of the concentration that we should have is not recommended, because we are not going to do anything well, neither the work nor the play, and that can become first of all jeopardizing the work in a childish way, because we are playing and otherwise we would be risking that money to be lost more easily, then it is something that is not recommended.

Mentaklenmte the person will not be 100% capable of doing the job, it is something that must always be considered, but well the people are the ones who make the decisions and can make the difference if they want to lead that type of life to achieve things as they are. and as they are, it is something that can be quite risky.

It's wonderful that this forum allows us to get to know one another and exchange ideas so that we may support and give advice to each other. Well, it's important to strike a balance between our personal and professional obligations in the hectic world of today. Gambling or playing games while at work can be distracting and have a bad effect on how well we do our jobs.

When it comes to work, we actually need to be more deeply focused and pay attention to the task at hand in order to do it before the deadline. It's true, as Dimitri94 said, that gambling involves mental and emotional engagement. If we engage in it while working, this might generate an imbalance, tension, fatigue, or even lower productivity, as all of these emotions will undoubtedly appear when we lose. Although gambling is not always a terrible thing, it is important to keep in mind that we should keep our gaming and work hours apart in order to keep our focus, encourage a healthy work-life balance, and avoid any possible financial consequences, which we may regret in the end.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you see a gambling review website that has its own gambling website? on: January 04, 2024, 02:15:47 PM
While I'm not certain if this is happening in the real world, it raises the question of whether you would trust a review website in such a case.
If that's the case, you shouldn't trust either the gambling website or its review site because for sure it might be seen as biased. After all, we were the ones who were tricked and made to feel special by their lies, and they frequently paid people to post positive reviews on their website. This is due to the possibility that the review website has a financial incentive to favor its own gambling site over others. For me it's kind of unfair from its competitors but aside from other review sites, which are open about whether or not they are legitimate. To avoid bias and scams, you should select a gaming website that treats its players fairly and openly.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 04, 2024, 12:31:21 PM
That kind of person will inevitably exist. If people are aware that you gamble, they will think negatively about you because it is quite harmful. Nowadays, it has been ingrained in people's minds that gambling will only lead to financial waste and that you can lose your family's support. They won't be able to think well of you, though, if you can feed your family properly and take care of yourself at the same time. If they can see that you are a decent person and that you know yourself to be a responsible gambler, then it won't be too much of a problem with other people's comments. However, it's really uncommon to come across a responsible gambler because occasionally they prefer to play secretly or privately. It is common knowledge in the community that gamblers who just spend excessively and lose their money eventually cause hardship for their families. This is the reason why the majority will harm the reputation of other gamblers who are involved. One thing, he has no respect at all, cause why does he peek at other people's business, that's privacy.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Know, But Can i Invest In Bitcoin? on: January 04, 2024, 11:41:46 AM
I believe you should not invest based on other people's advice because whatever happens in the investment is your responsibility. If you experience a loss, the person who advised you has no right to be blamed, nor if you make a profit, you have the right not to give anything to the advice. Before you invest, make sure you are ready with free money and also several YouTube tutorials on technical and fundamental analysis can help you as a beginner learn at least one month before starting.
It's not so bad if he reads or listens to other people's advice because he can learn valuable insights and expand his perspective from others who have invested in bitcoin before him. Additionally, since other people have invested in bitcoin before him, their opinions and failures may help him avoid some of the pitfalls that other investors have had to deal with. He will also benefit from learning more about bitcoin, which will enable him to make a knowledgeable decision about whether to invest in it and how it can benefit him. I think that was a good start. That's why this forum was created to give him advice or an idea of what path he is on. We are only here to talk about and help resolve some people's concerns about whether or not to invest in any cryptocurrencies. After all, it is his money, therefore, it is up to him whether he listens to us or not.

220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: January 04, 2024, 05:36:47 AM
I think its a lot harder when you are really in the actual situation, but if you really have that strong mentality to stop when its necessary is a very great weapon in gambling having it when winning and losing will help you a lot, and all gambler should have that kind of mindset.

if all gamblers will be able to control themselves successfully then all casino will go bankrupt.
they are profitable because of this, that we can not control our mind while losing that is the advantage to the casino after the edge they collect.
yes, it will be best to stop at the right time but it's very hard whole losing our mind completely stops and we start to take higher bets then after losing it all, we think... would had withdrawn.
If those large, grizzled customers continue to play who have given themselves to the game, the casino will not shut down quickly. Once someone experiences a big win, it can be very difficult to control their greed. Even after they have won, they still want more, believing that this will provide them with even more pleasure. They do not think that their win from gambling in the casino might slowly disappear, and they would lose all of it in just a blink of an eye. If it is, they will return to zero right away.

It's funny to think that we all sometimes regret things after it's too late. For this reason, it's nice if we can discipline ourselves, and it's good for us to prevent such instances as indicated by the OP. Our conscience will also be roused if we have blown all the money we ought to have saved or if we have won money at the casino that could have been used to meet our basic necessities, but we have instead wasted it or have simply lost the game because our greed has made us believe that we can win more.

That makes me realize that success is rare and that you will always lose—not just in gambling but in real life as well. If you do win, you should consider how you might use the money you earn.
