1121  Economy / Economics / Re: Really, why bitcoin has this value? on: November 09, 2021, 06:46:50 AM
At some point I am really messed up and lost in vein when it comes to bitcoin's price. I think that every second it gets more and more a victim of speculation and gets abandoned from its original idea.
If bitcoin could perform very well at 6K some months ago, why it become 60K after some months? And then it went back to 30K but was still functioning very smoothly, i.e. it was doing the job it was created for.
Again, If bitcoin could perform well at 30K some weeks ago, then why it worth 60K right now? I just don't get it when people say that bitcoin isn't speculated and all of these prices are just natural.

Actually, I consider bitcoin now to be rather a speculative asset than a means of payment as it is volatile. But I think that within time when crypto will be more and more adopted in different spheres, Bitcoin will become less volatile and it will not change its price so rapidly.
Bitcoin has many advantages over traditional currencies, that is why people are willingly using it and it forms Bitcoin's price.
Yes bitcoin is made to be an international currency to be a form of payment, using a P2P tech with no central authority to act as a middle man. But bitcoin now is more like of an asset or investment to gain profit because of its increasing value due to people's speculations or investment, and it is extremely volatile for now to be used as form of payment. But soon when it's scarce enough maybe the price won't be moving like this much.
1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Gambling increase due to the pandemic, stats, UK on: November 08, 2021, 06:01:15 AM

- 63% gamblers noted an increase in time spent gambling.
- 62% said their gambling habit remained the same despite the laws being more losse for some areas
- 12% reported an increase in their gambling habit

This is not new, even before the pandemic more and more gamblers have spent most of their time in the casinos, others are new to the actions, others are trying to stop their spending habit.
And it's really the expected case in the time of pandemic where most of the people are working from home and found their past time in some online casino platforms and eventually didn't realized that their habits are now too deep from what they're used to.
This case is not just in UK, but most of the developed countries as well. In two years time of pandemic, more people are addicted to it and others have recently started.
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen to the price when all the bitcoins are mined? on: November 08, 2021, 03:35:27 AM
I am having a hard time believing that Bitcoin is the be all end all of crypto. Bitcoin was the first, but should also be considered a stepping stone towards a more diversified and decentralized crypto ecosystem. So 100 years from now Bitcoin could very well still be a thing, but not such an important thing as it is now, and when tall gets mined, well, not much will happen. The price might go up a bit because of it being a limited commodity, but nothing more than that.

You shouldn't be worry because we won't be there anymore when that happens, so as long as we're alive let's enjoy the moment while the bitcoin is still in demand and the mined bitcoins are just less than 10% of the overall supply limit.
Yes the price in the future is indeed very high due to the scarcity of bitcoin, but we cannot predict the price as well as we can't next week or tomorrow. And if bitcoin bitcoin has reached its maximum supply then for sure there'll be another crypto who will replace it and be an another crowd people, bitcoin will become a legend and will become another regular commodity like gold and other precious metals.
1124  Economy / Economics / Re: 6 billion to solve world hunger? on: November 07, 2021, 05:43:10 PM
Certainly 6 Billion in USD can't solve the hunger throughout the world, to think, there's no available amount to estimate how to solve the hunger worldwide. So instead of giving money to the people who are in need, why not give them a job based on what skills they have. In that way, we won't have to give them money to sustain their needs especially food because they can feed themselves already and even with their family from the job that has given to them and the best thing is they have a chance to lift themselves from poverty depending how they'll manage.

$6B isn't gonna sustain them for a week or two if you help those who need the most in USA, how much more if it's divided throughout the globe. And I don't like when famous persons are tweeting or announcing it publicly if they're planning to give to the poor, why not give it privately as long as your heart is pure. But still I respect for that good deed and mindset that he's willing sell his part on Tesla to solve world hunger.  Cheesy
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How reasonable is the long-term investment in Altcoins? on: November 07, 2021, 03:50:30 PM
We all know that long term investment in Bitcoin is reasonable but how reasonable do you think long term investment in Altcoins is?
I think long-term investment in Altcoins is full of risks but short time investment is more profitable. Do you agree with me?

Nope, it really depends on you which altcoin do you have in your portfolio or hold, both long-term and short-term investment has it's own risk so it has to be dependent on how you handle your coins. Neither of the coins have the most risk because all of the cryptocurrencies have tailed with extreme volatility that's why we can't really know when we can make profit or gain, it is just a matter of research and study to forecast what would likely to happen in the future but as I said it's not like you can predict it 100%

Currently, I'm holding ethereum, solana and cardano because they're the most likely to give me competitive returns than the other altcoins. I keep myself from having 5 or more coins to avoid losses, this way I can give much attention to my coins (4max).
1126  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we see new ATH this year? on: November 07, 2021, 06:48:53 AM
This year we've got at least 2 ATH in April and October, seeing the trend and daily transactions that continue to increase I'm sure new ATH will happen often and this year I'm optimistic the price of bitcoin can reach at least $100k.

Well that's a good news for us the investors despite the Covid-19 plague there's a positive happened this year especially in bitcoin who have broke all-time high twice already this year.
Well I hope that 2021 will end with a huge positive news again and hope to reach another ATH, there's less than 2months left already and todays btc value is currently playing at a price of 62.3k USD. But yes I'm also positive that another ATH will likely to happen again, hopefully it's atleast $80k beyond.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: November 06, 2021, 06:46:25 PM
^^ Indeed it was very intense, the adrenaline rush for this fighter are insane, they really wanted to get each other's heads-off.

But as the saying goes, once the bell ring, it will only be this 2 fighters, no fans, no trainers to help them out. Maybe Caleb can be good in the first couple of rounds and the fight be as competitive. But Canelo is a cerebral fighter and he will use his boxing IQ. And it will be really hard for Caleb, I don't think he has the power to knock down Alvarez if he touches him. Canelo's chin is one of the best in the middleweight, never been broken by anyone, not even GGG.

Rounds 1 up to 3 will certainly be for Caleb Plant. Canelo starts much of his fights very slow while he downloads much of his opponents’ strategy. Floyd Mayweather is like this, also Terence Crawford and other similarly good boxers. This will be Canelo for the knockout before round 10.

Yes me too mate, I'm with you. Since Canelo is the type of boxer with a high IQ who spars light within the first 3rounds to test the opponents reach and strength and after that we can expect a blow-to-blow punches from the both fighters. For sure, this is a win for Alvarez and maybe too much for Caleb for now because Alvarez is in his prime and the best in his division, no doubt!
But I wouldn't so sure that this will end via knockout because as we can see that Caleb is really preparing and training hard for this match, my guess is this would go beyond 10rounds but the chances of KO by Alvarez is 65% in this match.
1128  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Trading have an advantage over investing?? on: November 06, 2021, 11:41:18 AM
Trading and investing is both in a form of gambling, but with different approach. And it depends on the user's field of expertise and interest. Yes, trading does make you more money if you are indeed great in that field but if it's not, then investing is your option.

Traders are usally get more profits from daily to weekly trades but it comes with a high to extreme level of risk if you can't manage it well. And it requires certain focus to study the market and to be able to foresee what will probably happen along the road in order to avoid losses.
Investing depends on one's capability to commit something either long-term or short-term investments. Investing also can give you competitive returns but you'll have to wait depending what is your profit goal, also investing doesn't require much focus because it's a long-term commitment meaning you won't have to do anything unless your goal is achieved and it's the best option because it's a low risk.

So, in my opinion, trading will give you more advantage than investing and can make you more profit if it handled good.
1129  Economy / Economics / Re: How is financial stability defined for you? on: November 06, 2021, 10:08:52 AM
How do you define financial stability for yourself?
What's your take on this?

Financial stability for me is to live comfortable and to have a job that can sustain me and my family in everyday survival in life without any financial problems and ofcourse debts, plus having some nice 2-3 passive income or source for our family's wants, needs and incase of emergency we won't have to worry about the financial aspect. And ofcourse to sustain any lifestyle we want.
I mean, frankly, we all want to be wealthy in different terms that can sustain our daily needs in life. Sure, we differ in a lot of aspects in life but in the end, money is indeed what we need in order to survive this harsh world wether we like it or not, that's the reality in life.
1130  Economy / Speculation / Re: What make people panic sell? on: November 06, 2021, 08:00:37 AM
We saw the past from $10 to 60k is going up and up. So it sure it will reach $500k next destination.
But why the hell people panic sell now after it reach this high amount?
Do people really still think it goes to 0?

There soulnd't be any sale presure given the history that we see Bitcoin only going up in value

I don't think that they are selling in panic, atleast not all people. Some are just selling and ripping their profits instead of holding it because we have our each goals when is the best to sell, and when that goal is achieved then it's better to sell it than letting in sit to become an unrealized profit. There's always fear and anxious mindset who always thinks ahead in wrong direction that's why instead of getting profit, they end up losing their investing due to panic, yet we cannot blame them for being impatient.
And there are some who are committed to hold for long-term investment with a long-term goal.

I think panic selling is the right term for people who panic sell when the price dips deeply.
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the fastest way to grow wealth in our present world of digital currency? on: November 06, 2021, 06:59:14 AM
No need to mentioned I guess. Many users even here knows that. I'm sure plenty of traders whom bought a lot of crypto during bear market already ripping all the profits now. But it doesn't mean they already out, possibly they still holding some bags for a possible mega bull run that would occur this year. Who knows, since market sentiment is quite good. It's not abot nft but also defi hitting up the market so smooth. A lot of new projects with a great platform came in and join ng those old one seems pretty bullish for all crypto users.

Yes, they are already ripping the fruits that they obtained in the last bear market and the others might still hodl it for another year.
But is it really possible that there will be a massive bull run before the end of 4th quarter? Because I think it's a bear market will appear before the end of 2021.
But if it's gonna happen then that's a good news for the crypto hodlers and investors, since hodling is the safest investment with a low-to-medium risk and 2021 is a good year for bitcoin and other cryptos, might be much greater if 2021 will end with a huge bang. Anyways, we'll see because it is already 2months left this year.
1132  Economy / Economics / Re: Time to foot the bill on: November 06, 2021, 05:25:06 AM
Well, if you're getting paid with a deflationary currency like Bitcoin, you won't be too worried about salary increase, because whenever the currency price goes up, you salary is worth more.
Salary increase could also cause inflation unless those who are getting the increase are prudent enough and not too many in numbers
I think you misunderstood the bitcoin salary option, your salary will still be the same, no devation and no increase because let's say if your monthly salary is worth 5,000 USD then the amount of btc is the in thesame convertion.
It will only change its value due to markets volatility when your salary is on your hands.
I think it's normal for the employer to keep up with the inflation and give a salary increase especially for private sectors to make sure that their employee won't resign or leave their respective position. For the public sector, the delay of salary increase depends on the congress to approve the bill immediately.
1133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla make 1 billion profits from it Bitcoin holding on: November 05, 2021, 11:27:36 AM
A company the size of Tesla with a profit of 1 billion is still relatively small. Tesla may have its own targets and still hold the Bitcoins they buy.
Tesla makes a big impact when it comes to investing in bitcoin. This proves Bitcoin to be a valuable asset.
With Tesla's current profit, I think their target is more than that.

That's why they love to manipulate so that they can increase the size of their holdings and this one should be look up since they are pretty serious upon dealing or holding with bitcoins. And I will not surprise in future if Elon will be back again and do his nasty attempts with bitcoin so hopefully no one take their manipulative tactics in future so that we will not see anything bad effects to the market.

So, basically Tesla's 1 billion USD profit isn't their goal yet because they haven't sell their bitcoins up to now, that's just an estimated profit by cointelegraph and unrealized profit yet.
That's why up until now, they're manipulating and encouraging more and more investors to take their part to maximize their profit even more. Even if we really hope that no one takes the delicious bait, it's already possible for the famous crypto whale to successfuly manipulate bitcoin again.

We can't deny the fact that Elon Musk has the most aces in his sleeve for now together with his bright mind.
1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: November 05, 2021, 09:15:50 AM
If they are under the same promotion, then most probably we will not see them fight soon.

Bor Arum is probably the oldest promoter that is alive now, he knows how to play the game and he will make sure that his player will give him long term income, and because of that, it makes boxing boring as it puts money first before anything else instead of fighting the best boxer's then money will come next.
Unfortunately this is a very old topic and yet nothing ever changes, promoters are in it for the money and not to give fans what they want and if that means they need to have both of their fighters avoid each other so be it, even if technically a fight among them will be easy to organize due to having the same promoter, but that is not what the promoter want, they want to extract as much money as possible from their fighters and that means delaying the big fight for as long as they can.

Its natural for promoter to go after the money since in the end of the day this is still a business and they want to wide spread hype so that they can possibly maximize their profit so its up to the fighter on how they perform since if they can able to win their match for sure they can take home a bigger prize than what they get on their previous match. For sure next assignment of Casimero will be Inoue if he could take this win.

Right, it's all business for them, nothing is personal, they are here in the business of making money.
So boxers win, maybe by knock out or something, they have more boxing fans. Then promoters create around by in the boxing money.

But yeah, eventually Casimero vs Inoue will be schedule. Arum knows that, he is just waiting for the right timing so that they can make a lot of money out of it.

Ofcourse boxing industry is also a money making industry that's why lots of fighters are now seriously making their name so that they can join the big leagues, and the promoter itself is making money more than the fighters I think and there will be a secret betting in their circle worth thousands of dollars I suspect, so it's very natural to go about the money from the crowd.

Casimero vs Inoue will happen in the right time, Bob Arum will make sure that it will gonna be a big fight and a big income. He's just teasing the crowd for now so that he'll know the right timing when to make this fight, yes it's really possible that it'll happen if Casemero would win this fight with a huge bang.
1135  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what are you investment strategy on: November 05, 2021, 08:30:32 AM
You should select the market of stronger foundation. If you are day trader then you should invest in short term investment. And you should fully concentrate all the time. but if you are long term investor then you should hold for long time. Also you should know about the investment rules and policies. you should have always certain plans before starting investment.
@Hobo66, what certain coins do you trade? I just wanna know some other coins and ideas that might get me interested.
Personally, I'm not a day trader because it costs me more time and taxes that are often not get me competitive returns, so I choose weekly trade so that I can balance my real life and give certain time to focus and study the market and think of my goal and best time to buy and sell. My strategy is trading up to 40% of my portfolio which give me gains that I liked than losses, and the rest is to hold and secure until I achieve my choosen time table.
1136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best thing you bought with Bitcoin? on: November 05, 2021, 07:02:33 AM
What was the best/most interesting thing you bought with Bitcoin, when, where you bought it and how many Bitcoins it did cost? Grin

One of the best thing I've bought with bitcoin is a motorcycle, and it is a gift for myself for my hardwork  Cheesy way back November 2017. I had to sell my bitcoin in exchange for fiat because in my country, that particular shop doesn't accepts bitcoin as a form of payment. So I'll use USD for fiat reference in this case.

It cost me about roughly 1,460 USD (0.0038 btc) that time.
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Shiba Inu Coin a better investment than Dogecoin? on: November 05, 2021, 04:56:33 AM
For now after achieving ATH from Doge, it looks hard to get up and give a quick profit. As for Shiba you can still have a few percent profit that can be utilized from the ongoing Hype. But you also have to be careful if you play fire with meme coins. Because all levels of dump and pump are relatively very fast. Use the profit calculation according to your expectations and avoid market greed.

I'm with you mate, dogecoin now makes more sense than Shiba Inu and can give you returns but not big as you think than other coins ofcourse. This particular memecoin called dogecoin isn't gonna make its status now if not because of Elon Musk, that's why it's hyped and reached all-time high due to Elon's successive commitment and tweets regarding dogecoin.

Now, I would be lying if I told you that I don't have it in my portfolio. But, I only hold it for certain reasons and I'll sell it eventually when the value reaches my goal.
1138  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think narcos may actually be on the 10 richest? on: November 04, 2021, 05:59:45 PM
Escobar has really struck the proverbial gold mine in the last 70's to early 80's and there's not much competition that time and that's why he has a total monopoly of drugs around the globe. But it has change in the late 90's to up to know. But still they are raking in billions.

That thing with this mafia or cartel is that we really don't know how much value they really have, and it could rivaled the worlds riches. But it's just the question of morality whether we need to include them on the list or not.

Pablo Escobar's eyes was set to only one competitor until he died and it was the Cali Cartel owned by Rodriguez brothers. This cartel was his only opponent and rival Pablo's Medellin Cartel in Colombia, Central America and South America.
There's also this Japanese Mafia, an organized gang who owns many legal and illegal businesses but yes cartels and mafiasc can't be in the worlds richest list due to morality and undeclared assets that's no one can fathom and estimate their assets.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: November 04, 2021, 04:50:31 PM
however, witness the style of Crawford to change stance while moving back and jab hard on Porter’s face repeatedly during the whole fight.

Well, Crawford can really do that because he is fast, but why such a strategy? Do you think he is afraid of the power of Porter, that's why he just wants to take advantage of his speed and just score to win? What about expecting a KO from Crawford, what percent do you think he will get that kind of win?
Such strategy is needed by Crawford to avoid fatal punch from Porter, and because we all know that Porter isn't an ordinary underdog. It is just a precautionary measure.
He isn't afraid about Porter, he just want to land succesful jabs to gain points rather than box him toe-to-toe and look for KO slots. Crawford here have the speed and reach advantage against Porter, that's why he change his stance just to avoid Porter's heavy punch that could by chance results in his defeat. Currently, Crawford has a 76% KO rate in his whole career but for this match, I guess the KO rate won't go higher than 50 percent.
1140  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you making money online? on: November 04, 2021, 09:23:43 AM
to make money online I think you have to be able to manage your time well because in the online world there is no time limit, the most important thing is to always be active.

I suggest you stick to your main job and the online world is just one of your side jobs.
in this case you can get into crypto by being an investor or a part-time trader. good luck

Proper time management isn't new to our ears to hear these days because aside from our main job which is our priority, we need to find another two or three source of income especially passive ones which is the best and ideal. Being here in the forum doesn't require much time except trading because we can post in our slack/free time or after working in office. As long as we have a time to spare, that doesn't keep us from making money from other jobs.

The best option is to invest in long-term commitment like bitcoin or other crypto currencies because such option doesn't require much time.
