1181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After a few months of China crackdown on mining. Check it out! on: October 25, 2021, 08:33:56 AM
If a ban on mining can effectively reduce hashrate of a country to zero, then this is an argument against the statement that Bitcoin can't be shut down by government. If all those top countries decided to ban Bitcoin, where would the miners move? To countries with a fraction of electricity producing capabilities? That would mean Bitcoin's network would take a large hashrate hit, which means reduced security. So while Bitcoin can't be literally shut down, it can be very seriously harmed by governments, if they decided to act against it together.

Does this will affect the price if really happen ? if most countries are banning bitcoin and those countries are still available to mine are the country with high electricity bills. That means it's harder to got more bitcoin and ofcourse the price will be so much higher because the supply will be stuck and the demand keep increasing. I'd love to see that happen actually  Grin

Banning and restricting any use of not just bitcoin but all crypto related transactions and mining in some countries like China really do some bad effects on the value but for a short-term only. Even if China belongs to a superpower country, still there are lot of big countries like USA, Russia and some parts of Europe who let their citizens participate in any crypto related transactions which gave a big positive impact on the market.

Higher electricty bills may gave the miners a hard time to mine, which would result to a high density of demand than the supply given. However, there are many options available today to lower the electricity fee without lowering the consumption. Because of these options, the supply and demand can be balanced.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will these coins survive 5 years? on: October 25, 2021, 05:37:45 AM
I have all of these coins:

ETH 40%
CARDANO 20%
POKALDOT 20%
TERRA LUNA 5%
THETA 15%
Avax: 10%

Are my coins going to last is it likely?

Very sure that the coins you hold at this time have long-term potential and many choices that you might take in the future, because there will still be many coins that will appear that have better potential than your five coins.

Indeed many coins will start to appear in few years from now and can do much better than the 6 coins listed. But for now, the OP wants to talk about the 6 coins that he listed above.

ETH is one of the finest and trustworthy coins among those 6 coins you listed and pretty sure it will pay you back bigtime for a very competitive rate. Cardano and Polkadot is also among those coins that has potential and probably will soar higher than this years rate.
So yes, those 3 coins I've mentioned will survive not just 5 years but it can be longer than that.

1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: October 24, 2021, 11:58:23 AM
What I am excited too see is that Mike Tyson to fight a young fighter who's not skillful enough or didn't win atleast one fight. This exhibition fight isn't so worth to watch because this vlogger called Logan Paul isn't even a professional boxer who is worth to fight the legendary Mike Tyson, even their skills and record aren't so near and it is so obvious that they're just amassing the peoples money for this fight.

I bet this match will end in not more than 7 rounds, I reckon. Tyson is so much for this young fighter.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: October 23, 2021, 01:05:58 PM
^^ I'm not discrediting Crawford's resume, it was really superb as he takes 0 of his opponents in the past. I think the trend has been set by Top Rank and Bob Arum on Manny Pacquiao, they put a opponent in front of him that can really enhance his ability and it's the fight is all in house as they said that's why critics argues that Arum "cherry pick" Manny's Pacquiao's opponents. So they have a blue print now, and that's what they did on Crawford, that's why we have the same critics saying the same on Crawford. And this is the first time that Bud Crawford will step up that will define his legacy if he beat Porter.

Yep, smart money and smart bettors will still go for Crawford, maybe by decision or fight goes to distance.

I disagree with that, I believe that Manny Pacquiao is just exceptional, he beat a lot of champions during his career that's why he became an 8th division world champion and no one will achieve that for sure, he is a legend, we can't compare him with Crawford.

however, we can say that Manny owes his success to Bob Arum as well as he was given big fights under the promotion of Bob Arum, so I guess they are still good friends until now although they don't look like one in the media.

I'm with you mate, Terence Crawford is nowhere near the footsteps of the boxing legend Manny Pacquaio. The Filipino boxer has taught most of the famous Mexican fighters like Barrera, dela Hoya, Marquez, and Morales not to mess with him. And surely Pacquiao made a huge steps on his career just to be the only boxer who holds 8th division world championship.

Crawford is also an aspiring professional boxer who wants to carve his name in the boxing industry. But given his age, we can't compare him for a bit with Manny Pacquiao.
1186  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think narcos may actually be on the 10 richest? on: October 23, 2021, 11:36:37 AM
The world likes lists, it kind of creates a framework for competition to be included. One of those is the list of richest in the world, recently:

Quote
Jeff Bezos
Elon Musk
Bernard Arnault
Bill Gates
Mark Zuckerberg
Warren Buffett
Larry Ellison
Larry Page
Sergey Brin
Mukesh Ambani

https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/012715/5-richest-people-world.asp

But now, some unofficial figures for less public people are worth a second thought. For example:

Quote
Dawood Ibrahim
...
He’s evaded arrest for a good part of three decades. After allegedly masterminding a series of explosions in 1993, Mumbai, Dawood Ibrahim went underground and has stayed away from public glare all these years. He started out as a small-time criminal in the ’70s and rose up the ranks till he became one of the richest drug dealers on the planet. While his estimated wealth comes nowhere close to Pablo Escobar’s estimated $25 billion in 1989, Ibrahim continues to remain alive, at large and worth well over $7 billion

25B in 1989 would make Pablo one of the richest persons on earth. By comparison, today's most notorious narcos are not making the cut. It seems like "the business" has become more complicated than before.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/el-chapo-12-richest-drug-214253459.html

The stated list of todays Top 10 richest in the world were the ones that have accumulated their wealth in terms of doing legitimate and legal business, acquiring assets and investments to make profits. In short, from clean and legal money.
And if Narcos were to be compared by the top 10 richest nowadays, for sure Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates would be placed in the 7th or 8th on the list of the richest in the world.
Narcotics especially cocaine and marijuana were introduced in the USA way back 1980s and were supplied by the famous Medellin Cartel (Pablo Escobar), Sinaloa Cartel (El Chapo), and the Cali Cartel (Rodriguez Brothers). Assuming that they're still around these days and given the price of the illegal substance, pretty much these guys are entitled to be the richest in the world.
1187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Tips- what kind of strategies do you use when playing? on: October 23, 2021, 08:17:24 AM
It's kind of understandable why it's a lot easier to bluff in online since there's a lot less pressure due to the fact that you're actually playing online, instead of f2f with someone. If you aren't someone used to seeing a person look at you face to face in a tense situation, then I wouldn't consider it weird that you're having a hard time bluffing.
When we talk about bluffing, some people can hide their expression and calm down, no matter their situations, because they learn about how the human body can show their expression at that time. They do not need to wear black sunglasses to hide their eyes because they are experts hiding that. But in online poker, you will not feel easier to bluff them by using your money because we do not see how their expression is, and that is difficult to predict their card.

This is one area that I feel like I am very good at.  It took some time playing poker to be able to learn how to be good at bluffing and keep a straight face but eventually I sort of got in to this mode where I would just stare straight at the cards, never really looking at anyone else, and I made sure to always do this every time that I was in a battle with other players.  I think one of the main things is consistency as to make sure you're not giving yourself up by doing some sort of habit.

Consistency with a strategy that you created to enhance your chance to win, if you continue to work with your emotions this kind of strategy will really help you to avoid being read by your opponents, Poker players have their own style of playing some are kept on changing their mode or keep on swinging every facial expressions to try intimidating their opponents.

Some are straight and not show any emotions. Most of the time, those who have a poker face got the edge. They read and observe if how everyone from table acts and try to anticipate without showing anything from their expressions.

Strategy is a must in terms of playing poker, but it is also quite important to develop one's logic and mathematical skills to predict and read the movements of your opponent. Having a poker face or to intimidate your opponent is also a skill must have, it's also a battle of emotions no matter what hand you have. You must certainly deal with it intuitively to make money out of poker.
1188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: October 23, 2021, 06:09:51 AM
This is a better between a young and hungry fighter against an experience champion, we know who would likely win but if you believe on the ability of Gaballo, you should never doubt putting a bet for him.

I have been following this match up as it catches my interest on Gaballo as a promising next Filipino boxer, and Donaire is a big step to that ladder.
One of the Filipino boxing analyst told an article what Gaballo could do to possibly beat Donaire, and to my surprise it's not really that hard to achieve as Gaballo is young and KOed almost every opponent.
So, I guess being aggressive isn't gonna be a problem for Gaballo, but to hurt Donaire might be hard especially when Donaire's head movement and footwork is almost the same as his prime days.
Betting on Gaballo is actually a good bet here IMO.

And he can also bet Donaire by just having a stamina that can last full twelve rounds. Donaire is ageing already and his gas in the tank might be questionable in this fight. So Gaballo needs to deliberately extend the fight from round 6 and up. Because Donaire is really dangerous early with his timing and body shots and his left hook. He just want for Donaire to gas out and then try to knock him out.

This young Gaballo should worry more about the first 4 rounds in this fight because it's the most crucial for him to get knocked-out in the early rounds. Given that Donaire's age, he should focus more on winning early rounds and give much damage to his opponent because he already knows that his stamina won't last that long due to his age. So I think so too, that Gaballo's goal is to have Donaire last for longer rounds and then that's the time he'll gonna try to defeat Donaire or worse knock him out if he can.

And we already know that Donaire isn't on his prime anymore so his strength and stamina has been dramatically on much lower scale now. But still Gaballo should be careful and watch Donaire's deadly left hook and body shots combination.
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion, NFT last long or not ? on: October 22, 2021, 12:40:51 PM
Decentralized finance (DeFi), Web 3.0, financial inclusion, the rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Axie Infinity success, Will the others be successful too?

https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-56371912.amp

Axie Infinity is just one of their successful projects, and there are also others like The 1st 5000 days it was the most expensive item that have been sold. Ofcourse others will be a successful one too, like THETA and FlowFLOW. NFT are one of the hottest crypto this year.

The NFT market is expected to reach $1.3 billion by the end of 2021, with over 5.3 million sales to date.

1190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Cryptocurrency be a Global Currency in the Future? on: October 22, 2021, 08:30:31 AM
Yes, It can be expected that cryptocurrency will be a Global currency in the future.
The BTC will be the father coin and there will be a lot of sub coins.
Cryptocurrency is a unique kind of currency that has great potential.
It has an attraction for all ages of life. It has a great opportunity for those who want to do something and desire to step forward.
Moreover, It has equal chances for poor or rich for development .
This currency has brought a revolutionary change in the world of business and trade.
It promotes a positive activity also.

Yes mate, I reckon that bitcoin will bring a revolutionary change in our world in the near future to come and bring equal opportunities even in a poor community. As expected bitcoin will soar high and it is indeed a coin in the future. But I don't think that it will he a global currency that will make people to get up to their fiat yet. There will be always some people that will choose fiat over crypto to be a form of payment wether it will be a salary or to buy things. Crypto will used as an online currency for online transactions and can be used to invest. But I know that things will change soon, hopefully just like we wanted.
1191  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon musk now the richest man in earth on: October 22, 2021, 07:04:51 AM
Quote
Elon Musk has entered rarified air in the world billionaire rankings. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO is not only currently the richest person in the world, but is now worth as much as fellow billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett combined.

Can he sustain it for how long?

My question is can Elon musk sustain this new found financial spot for how long? We have seen bill gate coming back to this spot from time to time and occupying it for a longer time. Now that Elon musk is said being the richest in the world , is he going to keep to this status longer or we are yet going to hear another story of selling off assets because Elon musk is now known as a public stage man Grin Roll Eyes So what do you think?

Elon Musk is well known early-investor and the richest man on the planet as of September 2021 until today. He's also a CEO and found many company today like The Boring Company, SpaceX, and Tesla Motors. With his financial assets and wealth, I think he'll sustain his status for a long time because his companies aren't gonna be bankrupt in the near future. He also invested in bitcoins and many altocoins too.
Unlike Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, Musk will continue to surpass them. And he deserves what he now have because of his passion and hardwork, and nobody can question that.
1192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy every dip! on: October 22, 2021, 05:34:37 AM
You have no other option. I joke about the whalecumulators, but what else can we plebs do? Buy the dip, and HODL! You do not want to end up empty handed on the next cycle, https://twitter.com/misir_mahmudov/status/1118243131584065537

That is it and you have really give a good advice.  I think we are going to have another trading cycles soonest and buy when bitcoin or others coins goes down again is the right things to do. I wish we understand all the investment opportunity in cryptocurrencies market and takes the advantage of it and makes money.

This is why knowledge is very crucial and important because we can't just choose a coin and trust on it, pretty sure the results would be negative. Almost everyone on this platform knows when to trade and when not to do, there's also few that didn't know when to buy.
Yes there is a lot of opportunities in this industry but it's a challenge to crack a few and make money or profits on it. My advice is buy if you think that it's already dipping in your own knowledge and hold it to make profits in the future and be comfortable with you. Cause you would know by now when to buy or sell.
1193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't trade using instinct on: October 21, 2021, 05:07:37 PM
Hello buddy
I am a new user in crypto, I learned a lot from friends who have been using crypto for a very long time, previously I lost a lot of assets, because of the experience and lessons I learned so that I can trade well, I have profited from BSC coins and now I have not invested in any other altcoins. Can you provide any suggestions for potential future altcoins?
I have $1226 in assets, Thank you. Smiley

Did you mean new user of this forum? Not crypto, because you said it yourself that you already lost a lot of assets due to your lack of experience.
Ofcourse you don't trade using instinct because that won't give us the profit we planned, basically doing research for some various trade experts in the internet or youtube would help you how to trade without losing so much. And it depends if your planning to trade for daily or weekly basis.
Cheer up mate! Because this time you aren't starting from a scratch because you already had an experience about trading. Just don't forget that to trade only what you can afford to lose.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe BTC can be attacked? on: October 21, 2021, 03:16:09 PM
I just remembered the poly network heist, one of the biggest heist in the history.

Is there also a possibility BTC can be hacked?
If it is, I bet every currency will start to declined.
How safety BTC security for you?

Want to know veterans answers.  Undecided

Poly network was also a decentralized Finance (DeFi) which contains millions of cryptocurrencies and also trusted by crypto users, but the owner of the platform leaves a small vulnerability in its code which enabled the hacker named Mr. White Hat to take $610 million worth of cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin in the other hand is also a decentralized digital currency that uses a blockchain technology as a fundamental in-order to keep its system secure and safe which makes it harder to hack.
It is only possible to hack and steal bitcoins from the owners who refused or neglect the use of high security wallets.

Therefore, bitcoin's system is invulnerable or impossible to hack.
1195  Economy / Speculation / Re: People are panic buying right now! on: October 20, 2021, 06:02:30 PM
Haha now people are panic buying now as you can see bitcoin price already bounce back from $43,000 and back to $45,000 now just within a day. Those who saying bitcoin already end when it was fallen to $30,000 will regret it to didn't buy on that time.

LONG LIVE BITCOIN! TO THE MOON!
Right Bitcoin will never be vanish, this is the money future that's why i don't believe those who will say that Bitcoin will gonna end. Bitcoin pump wright now is the prof of it, and it is another big slap to Bitcoin haters.

As predicted by many experts that bitcoin will have a breakthrough during the 4th quarter of 2021, and indeed bitcoin did break its own record reaching an ATH and now it's already playing with a value of $67k. The Russian government did gave a huge positive impact on crypto currency especially bitcoin and gave its citizens freedom to mine and transact crypto.

And indeed mate, bitcoin won't vanish but rumors do. No one can destroy bitcoin even if it's a super-power country like China, although it can make the value rise or fall depending what a leader of specific country would say.
Bitcoin plays a huge role in our economy across the world these days, it gives us hope to defend ourselves against inflation and gave us more secure, fast and hassle-free transactions.
1196  Economy / Economics / Re: Fuel prices hitting an eight year high on: October 20, 2021, 04:04:15 PM
Fuel prices have skyrocketed in the past few months, on a worldwide scale. Here in Greece, the average price per liter for 95 Unleaded petrol is €1.75, while for diesel it's approximately €1.45. A huge surge is also expected, in the soon-to-be launched season of heating gas oil, which is expected to start within the next few weeks, with a rumored price of at least €1.10/liter.

I've read that this spike in prices is triggered by an increase in price per barrel, due to oil companies worrying about the pandemic, while their production is limited compared to the higher demand. Have you heard anything relative? What's causing this surge in prices, could it be a one-off thing which lasts a couple of months at most?

What's the average cost of petrol/diesel in your country? Share your thoughts on what exactly is causing this crisis, which is also spiking electricity costs up, increasing the budget for the average household.

Sources:
https://www.bruegel.org/2021/09/is-europes-gas-and-electricity-price-surge-a-one-off/
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-58718148

Oil companies will increase fuel prices again for the sixth-straight week. The price adjustments reflect movements in the international oil market.
Source: https://www.cnnphilippines.com/news/2021/10/4/Big-time-fuel-price-hike-Oct.-5-.html

Currently, we are also experiencing price surges and hikes here in our country. The average unleaded here will cost $1.17 per liter while the diesel was roughly $0.88 dollars, almost every week the prices will go up as well as the electricity because we cannot depend on the hydro power plants and windmills here to supply our daily household electricity needs and forcing individuals to pay more for the pump while having less for their daily needs.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Issue of fixed Matches on: October 20, 2021, 02:45:28 PM
I was with a friend today who was in a hurry to place his bet on some numbers that were sent to him for some football matches that he believes are fixed. I'm a bit confused how fixed matches work.

Are fixed matches real? Do the coach and players of teams were matches have been fixed, do they consent to it? If you were in a team were your next fixture has been fixed, what will be your reaction?

Yes this happens in reality, but only few or just the top brass and the management knows about it because if they were to spread this to others like friends or family then that might put them in a dangerous situations. There are also some rumors that the coach or referees are paid to get the game fixed to extend the league or season.

I don't think that the players can have an option to decline whatever the managements tells them to do, because either way these players are also getting paid to keep them silent.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: advantages in the cryptocurrency industry on: October 19, 2021, 10:37:43 AM
There are 3 options to profit in the cryptocurrency industry. according to my version like this:
 - Trading: It is called a way to get more money by trading cryptos, either by transferring between them or by providing exchange services.
 - Investment: There are many cryptocurrencies with a good future, but I only recommend Bitcoin and Ethereum.
 - Gambling: sometimes beneficial and sometimes detrimental. I don't recommend it at all (risk high)
Don't invest yet until you're able to understand the whole concept of cryptocurrencies and how volatile this market is.
There is a process before you can do that, however, you can start by buying bitcoin with around the smallest amount that you can test to see how it feels like owning it but you won't feel the fluctuations since it's just a small amount.

If you talk about advantages about this industry, well there's a long list of if like you can protect yourself from infation, manageable coins without the need of intermediaries, fast and easy transactions and secure.

Well as you state, yes trading and proper investing of your chosen altcoins is a must thing to do in this industry. But it varies on how expert you are and how you studied your chosen field. Gambling isn't for profits because there's no assurance on it.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Tips- what kind of strategies do you use when playing? on: October 19, 2021, 06:31:38 AM
One of my friend has tried to introduce me to poker as that is one of his best games and he has made some money from playing poker severally and I refuse because I am not familiar with the strategy they use to make me a successful poker player. Am very good in playing Dice on Stake.com and I have made some money not only that, I have grown my account tia high level which enable me to earn high bonus on monthly basis.
you must Play Poker in Real one and not in Online so you can evaluate your opponent face to face and not on Online in which we have no actual experience like what we had when playing personally.
In Online Poker it is harder to win because the House will never let us take their profit away lol.
but if you can be Good in Dice in terms that it is pure luck base game then why not try poker instead?
Other gamblers, on the other hand, often prefer to play online in order to reduce the expressions as one of the elements in winning the game. Also, there is a pandemic, and we can't play poker in some casinos right now because it demands you to be fully vaccinated, but if you like online poker, you don't need to encounter the actual thing because you won't use it in online. If you can read probability, you can win a lot of money by simply playing and counting percentages, it's enough already to enjoy and win the game.

I also prefer to online poker to reduce the risk of getting Covid and to avoid spreading it to my family just because of my gambling activities. And because we're still in a pandemic, I took that chance as an advantage to play poker online because as we know the bluffing is an important element in poker thefore I can avoid to show my facial expressions and allows me to plot a strategy more because I'm just playing it online and also it gives me more time to my kids and family.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency is important for a country? or not... on: October 19, 2021, 04:54:40 AM
Cryptocurrency is essential for the development of a country?
Does cryptocurrency play an effective role in the development of the country? Or does it hinder the development of the country and cause extreme damage to the country?
What do you think about this?

I think it is not essential for the development of a country BUT crypto helps the people and economy to eliminate high transaction fees, trust issues about the fiat and transparency issues. Bitcoin is a decentralized network which elimates the need for third parties like intermediaries or the agent who oversees the transactions and to put the power and responsibility into the currency owners hand which whoever he/she wishes to send it to.

Ofcourse it does not hinders the development of a country, instead it offers more options for the people for a fast and secure transactions with low transaction fees.
