My brother was mining on my laptop bitcoin. I have a nividia 660M geforce gtx grapics card. He solo mined for 1 day and found a block. If I am correct a block is 25 bitcoin, and the market value of bitcoin is about 450. So did my Brother hit the lottery in bitcoin  ? Getting 25 bitcoin is quite difficult. If your brother really got that much bitcoin, i have to say that he hit Lottery. Getting less than 25bitcoins when you solo mine a block is impossible Did you mean that having 25btc is difficult? Litecoin also has the advantage of lower prices; too early to tell if DOGE will survive.
The problem with doge is the number of coins makes price growth nearly unsustainable. 100 billion with inflation is freaking nuts. Other coins like litecoin, ruby, hbn, etc with more reasonable coin caps have a better chance of surviving. The community isn't EVERYTHING you have to have a reasonable economic model AND a good community. Agreed that 100 billion is pushing the limits of sanity. There is a need for spare change/"almost worthless" gambling money/micro-payments and the faster confirmations/low fees make some alt coins a valid option. Bitcoin is still the front runner by far I can see Doge still being here in 5years, I can't say that of all altcoins |

I think people are more likely to gamble when the price is going up. Wealth effect. More money means more disposable income.
Yes but people who are regular gamblers and lose all their stash then buy bitcoins will play a constant amount of fiat because their revenues are in fiat so they will play less bitcoins when the price goes up |

Shouldn't you become an expert on the subject matter before investing 3M dollars? Also, why wouldn't you hire a highly experienced bitcoin vet for advice.
If you have no background in mining and the economics of it I wouldn't recommend getting into it until you yourself spend 4+ months mining.

Its very strange no activity here on this thread for last 2 days whats going wrong here where are the active members and OP why are not discussing about any thing  Most of the highly active members seemingly got banned last week. Theyll probably be back over the weekend though as most were banned last Saturday/sunday and only had one week bans. Oh its very sad news I am very upset with this why this ban happen to all can you give any information about this what wrong done by them as all of active members ban in once Just a crackdown by the mods on users who in their opinion were signature spammers. Around 30 were banned from what I read. I guess everybody needs to take it as a warning and make sure they're posting relevantly. I think it is a good thing if they targeting members that were spamming; a week ban is warning that will help clean the forum I never saw any evidence that the members banned were advertising RGC or an other website so let's not speculate |

They don't really act on stuff like this or even lock threads as far as I'm aware. Worst decision was not to buy more coins in early stage. I did buy some but it didn't make me a millionaire.
The same here ,i was so idiot and skeptic and I bought only 2 bitcoin when the price was about $15...and when the price was $1000 I rushed in and buy 4 bitcoin.....worst decision ever. If you think Bitcoin will suceed it's not the worst decision to buy @1000$ I think that my worst decision about bitcoin is that i didn't sell when it was $1200,and buy more bitcoin when it dropped to $300.I would have more bitcoin now.
you would have 4times more btc The decision to format a rack of servers that I had been mining with from 2009. The balance was over 1000 BTC in 2010. I am trying to recover the wallet.dat Worst mistake was thinking bitcoin was worthless. Wow, good luck, you certainly have a nice incentive to recover that .dat file, try hard and if you don't succeed just keep the servers somewhere to try other methods in a while |
