TBH not sure how far $100k will go to pay developers to maintain and add features to a site like this, if that's his bankroll he needs to be making money pretty quick off the bat.

I don't know what world you live in but things costs on the Internet are nothing compared to offline businesses. I would be comfortable launching this business with well under $10,000 and so would many others. You do not need $100,000 to start a business online.

No but if you are in a first world country, you want talents, an office and staff you will need 50,000$ + to start

it is going to be very interesting to see how Germany and France will handle the pressure.... anyway if i am right in the next round will be France-Germany? of course if they beat Algeria and Nigeria...

A surprise is possible from Nigeria that has a good attack but France will probably win; the question is who will win France-Germany?

Surprise can happen but this is WC Holland pass on fake penalty but this was yet another point of how referees done lazy job

Holland @ 5.30 to win on cloudbet; you have to really believe in them to bet on them at that price when you can bet on Germany @ 4.70 and Argentina @ 4.80; my bets would be on Argentina and Brazil
1183  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have 3 Million USD to invest into Crypto Currency - How should I do it? on: June 30, 2014, 10:57:08 AM
It will be better to hold on to the BTC and sell after a no of difficulty increase.
If you are an expert you can ROI from mining hardware. You need a lot of thinking, you need to baby sit a lot.
or you can start a could mining company or can become an ASIC manufacturer.
For that you can outsource all the process take pre-orders. But when all process are out sourced it will be a pain if the third party company delays.
So you can do like what bitmaintech is doing, Sell already made hardware.
The risk is less since even if the hardware is not sold out your mining company can make profit from mining.
All these companies are actually miners and they sells just to limit their risk and make the income stable.

The difficulty increases should have no real bearing on the price.  The price of Bitcoin is controlled by it's future vs it's current uncertainties.

Difficulty determines the uncertainty, that lead me to think so.
I will agree if you say it will not but after gaining much more acceptance for btc in the co-operate world.
Currently the industry/bitcoin is virtually controlled by ASIC mining hardware manufacturing companies, in my opinion.
In the future, the current dust will settle and bitcoin world will build up a new base of much more stability and predictability like the counterpart.

Current acceptance (like Overstock, Dish, local businesses) is what drives demand for it's use as a currency.  The more demand, the more people buy it and price goes up.

The uncertainties are like the 51% attack (or possibility of), the malleability issue, the collapse of Gox and theft of coins, the US DOJ selling SR coins, etc.

In the positive you can add the expected fall of the USD, inflation, the qualities of Bitcoin which are more and more admitted

In the negative the risk of a technical issue, ban of governments and creation of a competing currency, for exemple a crypto backed by Gold by a bank in Hong Kong or Singapore
1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: June 30, 2014, 10:15:34 AM
I was just skimming through very old threads, its amazing how people used to talk about 100-1000btc (or more), like it was nothing. I hope for their sake they held on.
Hopefully in two years they'll say the same about "people who own 1 or more bitcoin"

Will crypto win over fiat?
Is BTC the winning crypto?

As long as the answer to both of these questions is positive, just hold any number above BTC1 and you will be rich, and anything over BTC0.1 will be doing well, anything over BTC0.01 is above average, since the average guys will have BTC0.001 or less.

It does not matter at all how much fiat someone has, until he buys BTC with it, he will have none.

It is possible for crypto to be widely used and stay under 100,000$ in 2014$ per BTC for a while so you may become rich in a very long time if you only hold 1BTC

PrimeDice (Thread)
Maximum posts: 400/m (did change from 100/w)

Thanks for the update I was unaware of this change.

This is a very useful thread and I'll be sure to tip u a cup of coffee or beer for the effort of organizing and updating the info for the rest of us.  Wink

It is useful especially since it is updated frequently!

400posts/month for PD is good because you don't have to keep track on how many posts you wrote per week to know how much you will earn; 0.48 for Hero is still huge, not a lot of members were making more than that anyway

4000satoshis/post as a newbie with 777, they have to wait 360seconds between posts but it beats any faucets!

lightlord is getting some nice exposure from Jr/newbies for a very reasonable price

You keep allowing withdrawals and try to contact investors then you use the emergency adresses like you said.

The accounts that will still show a balance can be linked to a trusted escrow that you pay with the BTC left : something like 1% of the total every month and the escrow needs to take care of giving the BTC back or not to those who claim it
It is not ideal by any means but it solves your problem and you are not legally liable of dealing with crypto anymore

Don't get left behind!  637!

This is it! 639$, maybe we will dip a little bit one more time but maybe we are heading close to 700$ or higher

We may touch 1000$ this summer and a new ATH way higher before the end of 2014 as most expect
1189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Argentina heading for a repeat of 2001 collapse on: June 29, 2014, 10:33:51 AM
And they wont even win the world cup so the only way to make happy their people is by adopting bitcoin as a currency

They may well win the Word Cup since they will not have play Germany or Brazil until the final

Bitcoin as a currency for Argentina will not happen with the current government

We're looking to up the maximum bet return to 80 BTC soon. It's been nearly 6 months since we last upped it and it seems fitting now!

Good news for the site and the whales; going from 40 to 80 is huge, I wonder why you don't move it up slowly and why it is not public Smiley
Am very curious Wink

It is public, if u ask on chat anybody will tell u that . Just its not written anywhere . And thats why i suggested to put it on FAQ page.

It's a huge inc, rarely somebody plays that big. But its nice to have bigger limit. Many players from jd are coming to PD .

Yes Ok but think PD would benefit to write it on the home page for every player to see
1191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 15-Year-Old Makes $100,000 on Bitcoin on: June 29, 2014, 10:23:41 AM
It would of been a bit better if he actually earned the first $1000. He took a gamble with the money his grama gave him and he got lucky. Nothing really to be impressed about. You wouldn't be impressed if Dank gambled some money that he borrowed and won enough to pay back the loan and buy a mansion with 150 bathrooms. There isn't much difference. I'm not really that impressed.

The site isn't that great and paying instructors to teach people will cost a lot more than hes expecting. He is 15 years old and hasn't got a degree etc so people would be less likely to want to be taught by him. Also this type of site has been done by experts so he has a lot of competition and only a 100k investment.....very difficult.

He invested the money in a high risk/high return investment which shows that he was willing to postpone gratification and sacrifice the present for the future which is very rare for any of us; most people get what they can in the present and don't plan too much for the future because they lack the skill to sacrifice the present to enjoy more in the future

More and more convinced that this might be Germany or Holland's turn
Colombia the dark horses
Brazil look crap

Holland and Germany are among the favorite in my mind but still think that the Brasil will be in the finals after they win against Germany in semi-finales (possibly against France); they were not playing as great as expected but they only have 3matchs to win to win it all
1195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2014, 10:09:01 AM
4h and 1h MACD suggest a moderate dump possible in the next hours.

Possible or likely? Wink

The price is very healthy at 590-600$, it shows there are a lot of new buyers and that those who hold believe in the coin and will hold until 1000$ for some, a few thousands for others and more for some
1196  Other / Off-topic / Re: IF YOU HAD 1,000,000 DOLLARS WHAT WOULD YOU BUY??? on: June 27, 2014, 09:51:51 AM
First pay off all my bills. House. Car. Buy a house for each of my kids<2>.Two cars for the two kids, clothes, donate to needy families. Donate to the local animal shelters. Donate to the local food banks for people in need. Help the older/elderly.

You need 10millions : you have a taste for luxury wanting to take care of everyone like that like a Billionaire

That being said, it seems like a very reasonable way to spend the million if your kids know how to take care of their finances, if they don't, it is a terrible way to spend it

I missed it; 3h is huge 50x3x10,000satoshis=1,500,000satoshis!!!! You have to do tens of faucets every hour for at least a week to get as much
1199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble incoming! $3800 - $4000 expected on: June 27, 2014, 09:44:50 AM
It may actually rally to this high after silkroad coin is settled and put back in circulation.

Bitcoin price is a speculative market with huge volatility when we have big news; supply and demand command the price; Silkroad coins are not a deal breaker for the price going to thousands of Dollars as soon as Bitcoin starts to get bigger and the market understands that the USD will go down in value tremendously
1200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: June 25, 2014, 10:00:10 PM
Well it depends on what the risk actually is, but I'm willing to bet a satoshi that it is not trivial.

I'd bet that you can't find a lawyer who can give you an honest assessment of the risk. I think there is a huge lack of legal precedent.

I also frankly don't think that the Canadian government is going to start with a site that makes less than 20,000 BTC a year. I think that they would go for a big fish first. And until they had passed a law recognizing the value of Bitcoins, I don't think they thought about it.

I didn't say "no risk", but I did say it's not worth just giving up without trying.

It is not worth not trying to do something illegal that can throw you in jail for decades??
