2141  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we the "Berkshire Hathaway" stock holders of the future? on: May 07, 2014, 10:01:09 PM
Im going to be so friggen old in 34 years Sad

-B-

Me too; far too old to enjoy it  Sad But I have no doubt if it succeeds, it'll not take 34 years to do it.

I would have to have quite the patience to wait 34 years and hold my assets the whole time securely
Hope its a bit faster than that Smiley

34 years without any dividend can be hard but if you had x shares you can sell one once in a while and get some profit
2142  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: An example of how NOT to trade on: May 07, 2014, 07:56:35 PM
While true the market in my particular instance was going down which is why I was tempted to just sell at market instead of taking the risk and waiting for my standing sell order to get triggered that would have been a loss if I wouldn't have waited so once again glad I remembered this thread and took my finger off the trigger, so to speak

Glad it worked out this time.
Correctly 'guessing' when to jump on the current move (or to wait) is one of the hardest things about trading.

Some like having orders ready stop losses and take some gains automatically but when daytrading I think it is better to stay connected to the market and decide everyday if we should buy/hold/sell according to our feeling and analyse

satoshi
Founder
Sr. Member

You could actually talk to Satoshi; is he still active in the community but doesn't want to say he is satoshi not to influence it too much, did he disappear? Or was he a group of persons? I bet for the first choice.

He hasn't posted in 3.5 years.

It is most likely that he has another account that he uses to check on his 'child' , but I'd not bet on him still using his account.

He can check the posts without logging to his satoshi's account

Can a moderator tell us if satoshi logged in in the last 3.5years?

If satoshi log in his account, you should see a change in the "Last Active" section in his profile.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3

So, the answer is no Sad

Right

Last Active:   December 13, 2010, 04:45:41 PM

I don't mind not knowing what happened but I wonder how many people know, I would guess 8-30 people know way more than what we know about the fact he disappeared; did he want to leave Bitcoin grow without his shadow or did he misbehave and had to leave?
2144  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation and Deflation of Price and Money Supply on: May 07, 2014, 07:51:39 PM
If everyone hoarded bitcoins.
Bitcoins will end up up up.

Each time the price goes down it shakes out the weak hands and more btc end up with the hoarders and users

This is just wishful thinking. If it were so, the price wouldn't go down at all! Cool

It is a fact that when the price goes down the members that believe less sell and the members that believe in Bitcoin most don't sell
2145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How lucky Is my brother on: May 07, 2014, 07:50:41 PM
Well it is safe to say the OP is full of shit! It wouldn't be that hard to provide the info to prove it. Then they come up with some lame excuse.

Whats the point of even making a profile to post this crap?  Is the OP that hard up for attention?

Maybe he is just trolling much.  Wink No need to be so aggressive.

Aggressive? LOL! What do people even get out of trolling? I don't get it.  It's hardly funny. Seems like a waste of time to me.

It is but I guess he find it funny

He lost less time that the combined time we lost
2146  Economy / Economics / Re: Ron Paul Doesn’t Believe Bitcoin is “True Money” on: May 07, 2014, 07:50:11 PM
US Dollar is not backed by gold, but by policy.
Bitcoin is at least backed by mathematics  Smiley

I would rephrase that :
Quote
US Dollar is only backed by central banking policy and US military.
Bitcoin is only backed by its cryptographic code.

USD is backed by its infrastructure, the government in place, habit ect.

It will surely fall within a few years and the price of bitcoin will rise to tens of thousands of dollars when it does

No. You will see.
Is this another ponzi scheme thats going to fail after a week?

yeah yeah all scammers say that Cheesy

It is a ponzi, don't pretend it is something else

I don't mind people playing ponzis but don't say it is a safe investment
2148  Local / Économie et spéculation / Re: Le bitcoin devrait remonter on: May 07, 2014, 07:48:16 PM

Insurance companies are not dumb.

I agree. Especially the American insurance companies. That's why I hate them so much. And I am not just talking about the life insurance. Look at the Mediclaim / health insurance also. Is it even possible for a 80 year old to get a decent Mediclaim?

Buffet made a lot of money with his investments in the insurance business

I heard so many negative stories about insurance companies trying to steal my friends that I don't trust them much

top 5 for today. wo will be #2 in a month?

PD is a solid second and it will improve when PD3 arrives

Dicenow seems to be growing but PD is still number 2 in the top20 daily list
2154  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 07, 2014, 07:38:50 PM
dang, did not notice these new changes.. they don't benefit me as much, but oh well. what's the required activity level to reach senior member?
Require activity is 240 for Sr Member and for more information you can check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0

thanks, that's quite helpful.. so double up every time. it will take me 18 months to 2 years to reach hero status... and shit, i'm only halfway to senior member.

even at the current rates, the numbers look a lot better now that bitcoin has gone done in price.. i could potentially earn .4 or .5 btc this month.. sweet!

You have exactly the same activity and post number as me!

I think the current rates are fair considering the bitcoin price, we know we will keep them even if the price increases a lot during a month
2155  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Future of earning with my 1.6TH Cointerra on: May 07, 2014, 07:36:56 PM
I recommend the selling of your hardware as fast as you can because in some months you couldn't sell it because it won't make good money instead of the electricity bill!

so the theory goes...

1Th/s brings in say $1000 a month. In two weeks it will only make..  $800... in one month it will only take $640.... in two months .. $409...

wow...  this whole game has a six month shelf life. But of course if the value of the each coin/part coin mined increases then it will balance out slightly...  i doubt will will see an increase of 20% every two weeks.  But we should see something coming back in

If he buys it at 8BTC and he makes 6BTC and sells it back at 3 BTC he won one BTC, you have to compared a BTC amount to the number of BTC he is spending to buy it
What about the BTC (electricity) to run it.

He doesn't pay for electricity

I'm going to deposit a small amount into the website.... and play with it.

The owner should be more active on this thread....

He was until Stunna called him a scam and to prove otherwise, he disappeared after that.  I wouldn't risk money there.

Hmm now im afraid to play

They are showing more bets than there actually is on the website, they don't openly discuss their business here and show how much they have in cold store, it doesn't mean they cheat but I would be careful playing with them for any substantial amount of money especially when you can bet safely on PD (new cool PD3 soon) or JD
2158  Other / Off-topic / Re: If 1 BTC = $10,000 in 2014..... I will treat you guys to something . on: May 07, 2014, 02:28:32 PM
1k or 2k is possible by end of this year.. i think it'll start to heat up towards the end of the year again.

People expect it to rise tremendously in November again, it may well happen

There are a lot of factors influencing the price on the market but when it will rise again it could go way higher than most think, the potential is here
2159  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Free or cheap advertising service on: May 06, 2014, 08:40:15 PM
Traffic went up a bit, so i've decided to add the AdSlot24 section: http://stealthepixels.com/your-ad-here/
from which you can buy the ad slot on the bottom and place your banner (728x90, 468x60 or 300x100).

Rates are as low as 0.18$ CPM which should be perfect even for non-business people Smiley

What do you think about it?

It seems the traffic has been increasing a bit, what do you do to increase traffic?

Lately i've been doing some email marketing, not so much.

I don't want to put great effort on increasing traffic yet , due to the faucet section: sometimes the withdrawals i have to send from the faucet overcome the income i get.

Increasing traffic now is a gamble: it could bring more gain (ads) or more losses (faucet)...
so when i've finished making the right adjustments to my business model i can invest more in promoting the site.

You could give less to the faucet
