What about loans? it could work but im scared that the mofos wouldn't pay me back.
You could, just make sure you take escrow equal to or more than the loan amount and then it won't matter if they don't pay you back. Im also interested in loans. Who pays the escrow? And how does it work like, as far as I know escrows own your coins and freeze them until the deal is done (the other party also puts it in the escrow) or the deal is canceled. But how is the other person going to make use of my bitcoins if they are stuck no the escrow? I just dont get it.

WHen the US Colonies were first established each State had it's own currency, and exchange rates were likely a bit volatile. It wasn't until a single currency (the Dollar) emerged that things settled down. It's possible we're seeing the same with cryptocurrencies today...with the difference being that the strong contender to be the single cryptocurrency already exists, bitcoin.
It's not the same tho. Dollar is under severe regulations, Bitcoin is true free market, so not sure if it can be as stable without extreme regulations.

Here ya go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_ClockDoomsday Clock From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "Minutes to Midnight" redirects here, along with other titles incorporating that term. For other uses, see Minutes to Midnight (disambiguation). For the Smashing Pumpkins song, see Doomsday Clock (song). Cover of the 1947 Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists issue that first featured the Doomsday Clock at seven minutes to midnight (11:53 pm), although the "clock face" appears to be one minute earlier The Doomsday Clock is a symbolic clock face, representing a countdown to possible politically-related global catastrophe (nuclear war or climate change). It has been maintained since 1947 by the members of the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists,[1] who are in turn advised by the Governing Board and the Board of Sponsors, including 18 Nobel Laureates. The closer they set the Clock to midnight, the closer the scientists believe the world is to global disaster. Originally, the Clock, which hangs on a wall in the Bulletin's office in the University of Chicago,[2] represented an analogy for the threat of global nuclear war; however, since 2007 it has also reflected climate change[3] and new developments in the life sciences and technology that could inflict irrevocable harm to humanity.[4] The most recent officially announced setting—three minutes to midnight (11:57 pm)—was made on January 22, 2015.[5] ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fcommons%2Fthumb%2F4%2F4b%2FDoomsday_Clock_graph.svg%2F600px-Doomsday_Clock_graph.svg.png&t=663&c=kjD7h0xGInr59Q) When this baby goes up again, it will mean Bitcoin is about to deploy some disruptive bombs up in this bitch.

First they put scans on our phones, then on the internet, then at home, next will be the chips inside us at birth to control us everywhere, then you'll see the "alien detector" is not as cool.

![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Haha these militant veggies are pretty funny. It's natural and healthy for us to eat meat, the canine teeth in my mouth prove it. It's funny all these mad veggies coming up with twisted logic like "rape is also natural".

Like I said before there can never, never be something official. No "official bitcoin foundation" or anything, its as ridiculous as claiming to be "the official bitcoin exchange" or "the official bank of bitcoin". Its so dumb. The only thing that could make sense to call official is the Bitcoin QT wallet if you want to.

|
|
It's ridiculous how the bitcoin foundation tries to be so official about it. The truth is no one will ever be able to call themselves "official X" about bitcoin because bitcoin is of everyone and no one.

Casual correlation:
1) Winklevii have long been trying to establish an ETF (COIN)
2) Recently, the Winklevii would like to start a BTC exchange (Gemini)
=> Winklevii may not be as optimistic as they once were regarding COIN, so now they look to start an exchange as a place to put their coins to use.
I hope they are at least diversifying all these Bitcoins into other crypto projects. All eggs in same cryptobasket = bad idea. Also exchanges are a thing of the past, at least centralized ones.

I really don't understand the whole tulip-bitcoin parallelism.
Bitcoin is like gold, there's a limited supply. While tulips would be like fiat, you can print (plant) more.
They are coping mechanists that missed the BTC boat and now that a new opportunity arises they are too scared to invest. Their copying mechanism are screaming the obligatory "omg, tulps" or "beannie babiess lol" crap.

only on stamp... btce was still at 191 when stamp hit 160 Imo we could still see 2 figures, so place your bets with discretion.

Hi! I have a small amount of BTC (like 10BTC) in cold storage. What would you suggest me to do to make some profit out of it? I used to HODL them, but now I want them to grow (even if its few satoshis a day... still better then nothing lol) I'm not talking about HYIP or trading BTC/USD/other - because I don't understand how they work and I would easily loose money there.
Your best bet are casinos. You know that they have an edge so you could easily profit form that in a long run. Actually thats your worst bet (unless OP is known for being lucky). IMO your best bet is investing in a crypto project you trust. I would put some of that in Maidsafe for example, but wait a while to see if we are right now in a bubble so you can get more for cheap. Crypto is a growing business and theres plenty of money to make at least long term. If you want quick money start day trading and praying.

What makes someone scammer ? I thought the biggest factor is lack of morality.
Well, sometimes you are forced to scam to survive. If you are on a pretty difficult situation and basically trapped in a circumstance since birth (ie, being born in a shitty environment) you'll be forced to do anything to survive, scamming is one of the quickest way to do it and when you need to eat you don't care about morality.

*omg market forces are doing things on the market*
~BCX~
Monero doesn't benefit from massive liquidity at the moment, nor does a lack thereof affect Monero core development or the ongoing development of any peripheral projects. The success or failure of Monero as a project will not depend on the market capitalisation or the trade volume until Monero has achieved a significant level of utility. This. Fluffy and the rest of the dev team are doing a solid work with it, they are working with i2p as well. We just need to wait. Take this as the first Bitcoin crash (50 to 3 dollar) and be ready for long periods of low price. When people keep being busted by using BTC over darknets we'll see how all merchants that have grey matter will start accepting Monero as well.

It's clear now that we need open-source hardware as much as we need open-source software. In the future we'll use something like Maidsafe as internet, with open-source routers independent from ISP, with open-source CPU's motherboards and GPUs, potentially even 3d printed at home.
Then maybe, maybe we can talk about privacy.
