2. States that have low or no income taxes
3. States that have low property taxes (this is huge!!...

Escaping over-taxation is a biggie.

We own 5 properties in Quintana Roo and are buying 400 acres including a lake in Ontario.

We pay zero income taxes and zero property taxes in Quintana Roo.

Our Ontario property has taxes of $2100CAD ($1660USD) per year. The only income taxes we pay are for capital gains on the Bitcoin we sold to buy the land and lake. Capital gains taxes in Ontario are capped at 16.5%.

By using a construction site office trailer as a cottage instead of building a structure, we'll avoid a costly tax increase. If it has wheels and a trailer hitch, it's legal as a seasonal domicile and needs no permits nor red tape. Here's one we're considering:

It has 2 rooms, a 10'x10' bedroom with a closet to hold a chemical camp toilet as an ensuite, and a 20'x10' open-concept kitchenette/dinette/living room. Both rooms have steel commercial-grade exterior doors and our windows will be burglar/vandal-proof Lexan MR-10. It is fully insulated and has a one-piece rubber roof. We'll add an RV-certified wood stove.

We'll use deep-cycle boat batteries (with solar) for power, with a Honda Eu2200i as backup and for air conditioning. This is the same generator as our main backup in Quintana Roo. There it powers the AC, freezer, fridge, big screen, and all our LED lights and electronics on less than a gallon of gas for over 8 hours.

I think you made a typo - the tax rate on capital gains over $220,001 (to infinity - go go bitcoin!!) in Ontario 26.76%

The graphical depiction of "squeezed-state" interactions was so sensual that I can't stop watching.  Help!

Damn it feels good to come back after missing a day and seeing we're still above 50k.

50k+ is the new normal. Yes.

BTC has broken Strong Resistance at 52K and now heading towards 60K

Does the "bearish bat" become something else when it breaks to the upside or is it just a failed analysis at this point?
2044  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2021, 01:02:12 PM

Yeah right! Next they'll be trying to convince us that we can make phone calls without a cellular service.  Fake news!

It was supposed to be a Gold card but they eff'ed up.

Perhaps is was a Hold card, discouraging people from spending.

Ha!  Credit card company needs people to go brrrrrr
2047  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2021, 12:51:23 AM
So I finally signed up for the Fold card, touted for being bitcoin friendly...rewarding you with satoshis every time you spend using the card...

went to the deposit page to load the card with money for spending and...

no bitcoin option. Just a bunch of bank related options.

Sucks. That was the first card I have signed up for in about 20 years only because it was bitcoin friendly. Only to find out it just has a rewards gimmick.

It was supposed to be a Gold card but they eff'ed up.

edit: after reading up on it, it seems you can move the Bitcoin rewards from the account to your own wallet - it's not all bad.

well for 'awhile' you could get the GAW devices...but then they went full Paycoin scam...I mean "scam' wise they had big brass ones...

Homero (Garza) was released quite awhile ago. I think he ended up serving 18 months for one count of wire fraud, iirc.

Well what should we have expected from a guy with a handle like that?!  Serves us right!

I wonder, why don't you get a badge as the "best hat-maker artist" in this forum....your art is amazing

~snip

Thanks macson.  That's very kind of you to say and much better than a stinking badge Smiley

Gold Hat: "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"

my brother wanted to sell me his 'used' tesla a 1.5 years ago? 2 years...I just remember it was 7.5 BTC...I probably would have done this IF he would have

kept the BTC...I'd be sad ..but at least the brother would have some BTC. But 'missed that bullet' sheesh...7.5 BTC for such...I would be 'sad' now...very, very

sad.... so HODL. Smiley

Was paying my kids .1btc to rake the yard years ago. They are happy now.

I remember signature campaigns that paid 0.1 BTC per week....remember PayCoin? Before GAW went completely rotten?

I THINK I got 0.33 BTC for running their chain for a week or so ..so they could setup POS with my 2013 KNC Jupiter Miner I had to 'dust off' after a couple years..the

last hurrah...everyone mined for PayCoin...I mined it on some exchange for BTC direct..

Wow....hell I used to send you like 1.5 BTC to fix various lots of KNC equipment ....hope you kept it Smiley

Brad

 lol GAW "went"
That's the one scam that never suckered me in with their pretty pictures of nonexistent mining devices.

While I agree that they were initially selling miners, they were acting as a reseller hawking overpriced Gridseed miners.   Once they tried to pretend they were making their own devices, things got really strange.
I'll admit, the images of those hashlets intrigued me but the specs on them given their low-profie appearance were simply not believable.

Space elevator: the noob Newtonian dabbler in me has a question.

Won't a sufficiently high/massive elevator slow down this mudball's rotation? As in, longer days? Conservation of angular momentum and all that. Please make me feel safe again. Thanks.

If it was that heavy, what do you propose to anchor it to?  A large tent peg?

That was that Josh Garza fucker yeah? He ended up going to jail didn't he?

He got sentenced to less than 2 years so he's probably out on his 3 years of supervised access now.  Too bad all the scammers dont get caught.

Thats not a FIAT, it's an ABARTH. (at least the logo)

Ugh. Right you are. Search lied to me and I picked it cause it was the most photogenic. Sad

since abarth was bought by fiat in 1971, you were not really wrong. dirty fiat is dirty fiat.

I see what you did there.   Cheesy

I'm with the other guy who thinks we should be grounded in reality for now. Space elevators are fun and all, but we could still cover a lot of surface area on the planet, maybe even in the oceans, for plenty of solar panels / arrays to power the world (or a bitcoin miner.)

I found this before: https://landartgenerator.org/blagi/archives/127

So it's not updated, but you can line up a whole bunch of solar panels near the equator and not much is needed to power the world (not including bitcoin miners) ...

That article also discusses wind power and hydroelectric power.

Edit: here is another one just for bitcoin.

https://landartgenerator.org/blagi/archives/5697

Well I have been in similar discussion with friends who still didn’t accept Bitcoin yet. So one time we discussed that it’s a fact tha a SME (coronal mass ejection) is a serious threat to humanity. And if it happens it will be a complete blackout for days, months or may be years. In such a mass disaster what will happen to Bitcoin?? when this whole Bitcoin echo system needs so much energy and constant internet connection  how Bitcoin will survive? Whereas paper money or gold can still be valued and used in such scenarios like nothing happened.

Well lets see, assuming mass CME lasting 24hrs to cover all of earth, power grid is fried, nuclear power plants shutting down some blowing up cause their redundant safety mechanisms are fried, some nuclear weapons/ships/submarines/planes might go boom, satellites supposed to have some protection but chances are won't hold up to such massive CME so GPS and SAT communications are done, planes falling out of the sky, mass hysteria, supply chains disrupted shortages of food widespread, armies are reduced to few guys running around with guns, ATMs are used for target practice etc, etc, etc... and you think i'll accept your monopoly coupons or shiny metal for this chicken that i'm trying to sell because i need more ammo? If such major disaster happens BTC would be the last of your worries. On a bright side surviving society's priority would be restoring the internet, once that's back up BTC would be the first one to come back online before any bank or ATM will start working.

It doesn't even matter if you would accept the monopoly money for your chicken because there isn't enough of it around anymore. Most people currently use electronically transmitted digits that represent monopoly money and have little if any paper money on hand.

That means that you sold at some point. Cheesy Cheesy ... Motherf^cker, and I'm the one only getting all the heat. Cheesy Cheesy

You're mistaken.  That's not supposed to be me.  It's no secret who is buying the dip to keep the rest of us safu!!
