in my motherland
lockdown for the non-vaxxed
starting tomorrow

the third lockdown though
kind of light version, this time
permits lots of things

shit hitting the fan
incidence almost 1k
bitcoin doesn't care

#fuckthesystemhaiku

I thought that was Oberösterreich only

Nope. Until friday, yes. Incidences are going through the roof atm.
Saturday the minister of health announced the nation-wide LD for the unvaxxed, today it was fixed in parliament, effective 53 minutes after publishing it to the national "legal information system". People are allowed to go to work and buy food, visit pharmacies, gas stations, go out for a refreshment walk. but NO more shopping and going out or visiting friends/family for the unvaxxed.
Government is wetting their pants right now. They did nothing all summer, called out the "end of the pandemic", followed by the "end of the pandemic for the vaccinated".
40% of all covid patients in hospital are fully vaxxed, rumors say the number rose to 50% this week, while about 20% are currently fully vaxxed in ICU.

They did a lot of testing before, then they stopped testing of fully vaccinated people. Also, vaccinated folks that got close to an infected person were no more needed to self-quarantine and testing. So the infection counts exploded, they said PCR testing is mandatory for going to work, also in effect tomorrow, and the labs already refused to take newly submitted tests on saturday, because they don't have the capacity to process them. Next they want mandatory vaccination for people working in geriatric and medical field, while the hospitals are expecting up to 20% of their staff to quit.

Thie is getting way beyond popcorn level.
Interesting times.

I will continue reporting in the covid observer thread after today.

EDIT: uhm, forgot to mention that they dedicated a bunch of police officers, who should watch, check and prosecute peeps not obeying to the restrictions.

It looks like EU is going positively crazy about it.
With all it's warts, America looks like a sane person in this insane asylum of the world we live in.

'OK Boomer' I hate that term more so since that fucking communist Ocasio-Cortez used it.

When I hear it used, it conjures up an age old story:

A farmer goes out one day and buys a brand new stud rooster for his chicken coop. The new rooster struts over to the old rooster and says, "Okay old fart, time for you to retire."

The old rooster replies, "Come on, surely you cannot handle all of these chickens. Look what it has done to me. Can't you just let me have the two old hens over in the corner?"

The young rooster says, "Beat it! You are washed up and I am taking over."

The old rooster says, "I tell you what, young stud. I will race you around the farmhouse. Whoever wins gets the exclusive domain over the entire chicken coop."

The young rooster laughs, "You know you don't stand a chance old man, so just to be fair I will give you a head start."

The old rooster takes off running. About 15 seconds later the young rooster takes off running after him. They round the front porch of the farmhouse and the young rooster has closed the gap. He is already about 5 inches behind the old rooster and gaining fast. The farmer, meanwhile, is sitting in his usual spot on the front porch when he sees the roosters running by. He grabs up his shotgun and boom, he blows the young rooster to bits. The farmer sadly shakes his head and says, "Dangit, third gay rooster I bought this month."

Moral of the story...

Don't mess with us old folks. Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

Triggered boomer threatening to shoot the gays in order to prove himself still relevant.  Grin This is why an increasing number of people can't even be bothered to engage with the self-righteous, entitled brain farts of a lead-poisoned generation. Hence: OK, boomer.

But don't take it from millennial whippersnappers. Silent generation agrees with us

Obvious apple of discord is obvious.

In 90's hipster slang: Go with the flow

I thought that was 60s hippie slang.

Hm, afaik "the flow" was a concept of the early 90's.
For example, "groovy" was more a popular 60's hippy slang term, imho.
But i might be wrong, i was born in the 70s and "go with the flow" was a revived phrase.

Quote
Biden nominee Saule Omarova saying the quiet part out loud. On the oil, coal and gas industries:

"We want them to go bankrupt if we want to tackle climate change."

... Comptroller of Currency wants major industries to go bankrupt, that should be good for the dollar

.... "Socialism comes in through the ballot box, but only leaves through bloodshed ... " it's nothing new peeps

Looks Chinese, speaks with a Russian accent and she's nominated for what now?

Dammit, Wall Observers!  They're onto us.

 https://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/sci-tech/world-s-richest-1-per-cent-will-emit-too-much-to-limit-global-warming-to-1-5-c-study-1.5653753

"They found that the richest one per cent and the richest 10 per cent of the population are on track to emit 30 times and nine times, respectively, more carbon dioxide than the level compatible with the 1.5 C goal."

I hate seeing people writing obvious BS articles as if they know what they're talking about!
The "space tourism" they cite, yea... Hydrogen & Liquid Oxygen fuel emits water vapor, no CO².
This is nothing more than "Hate The Rich!" & "We All's Gonna Die!!!" Bullshit propaganda.

I don't want to be too nit-picky but currently the favourite method of production for hydrogen is:

the steam-methane reforming reaction
CH4 + H2O (+ heat) → CO + 3H2

and the water-gas shift reaction
CO + H2O → CO2 + H2 (+ small amount of heat)

Which (as shown above) effectively burns natural gas albeit in two stages rather than one.  Space travel isn't carbon-neutral yet though it could be (well... theoretically) if they obtained the hydrogen via electrolysis of water using solar and wind power though some would debate if that would ever be truly "carbon neutral".

I'm not a climate science expert, but I know water vapor is much worse than CO2 as a greenhouse gas.

Quoted from the article:
"So has – more recently and “most egregiously,” according to the study – the introduction of “hyper-carbon-intensive luxury travel space tourism” in 2021. For example, a single 10-minute flight for around four passengers can burn hundreds of tonnes of carbon, the researchers said."

Now, sure, water vapor emitted into upper atmosphere can mix with other chemical pollutants to cause O³ damage, as well as vapor clouds effecting heat retention, BUT that is NOT what the article is saying! The writer is 100% pulling shit out of his ass to put in a blog.

China's emissions have gone up exponentially since the start of the Paris Accords and the US has made bigger cuts to CO² emissions after LEAVING the Paris accords than all other participants combined! Guess what has had the greatest impact on carbon reduction... Fracking! Oh the Horror! Right!?!
It's all a bunch of BS! The most effective way to reduce our ecological impact is to promote growth & economic prosperity! Hungry people living in poverty don't give a Fuck about environmental issues! If they can burn old tires to keep their children from freezing in the winter they'll happily do so! But much more commonly they cut down trees and burn wood! (The most ecologically inefficient form of energy... deforestation!) And if you really want to get into the root of the problems it's not the carbon footprint of the 1%! It's the heavy metal mining, and toxic processes used to generate touch screens and solar panels... there's a reason why it's all done in China & Thialand, OUR environmental restrictions are far to restrictive to allow such industries to operate in any competitive manner. And disposal of all these solar panels, touch screens, & windmill propellers??? Good Luck!

Sorry just tired of BullShit propaganda obfuscation of things that we actually CAN do to make things better.

The true key is clean water for showering and drinking.

Incentives for blowjobs handjobs rimjobs muffdiving.  Simple easy way to reduce population growth worldwide.

In 1957 the worlds pop was under 3 billion
In  1969 the worlds pop was over 3 billion
Now in 2021 the worlds pop is about 8 billion.

Pay people to make no kids just have lots of fun sex.  Problem solved.

Just a thought . Not a real solution.

Not a viable solution either.  We need those kids to pay off the massive amounts of debt we're racking up trying to save the planet we've already destroyed so they have a habitable planet they can no longer afford to use as launch pad for Mars so they can destroy that once they've greened it up enough to make it habitable.  Grin

Props to xhomerx10 and fillippone! Well played! You guys are born detectives! Have you considered taking it up as a career?

Seriously, if a casual user can do this, just imagine what the secret services, CIA/NSA, etc., can do... Hell, I bet they are even watching me type this right now!

Nice one Arrie.

Very true, I was able to identify a whale that shared a unique item they had bought with a simple 2 minute google so think what those that get paid to data mine can do!

BTW no-one bother asking me about that person as you will never get an answer it was just out of curiosity and I would never dox someone.
