https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2022/02/16/canada-sanctions-34-crypto-wallets-tied-to-trucker-freedom-convoy/

Quote
The Ontario Provincial Police and Royal Canadian Mounted Police ordered all regulated financial firms to cease facilitating any transactions from 34 crypto wallets tied to funding trucker-led protests in the country.

Lawl. We all know cops are clueless but this really takes the cake.

"Crypto wallets"? Do they mean Bitcoin addresses? Haven't they heard of mixing and transferring?

Do they really expect every street corner OTC exchange to use forensic blockchain tools to trace the history of every coin they receive to make sure it didn't pass through one of those sanctioned "wallets" at some time?

You don't have to be intelligent to be elected to public office; just popular.  If you're popular enough, you can ever survive multiple consecutive annual (sometimes biannual) scandals - some of them involving not only unethical but illegal behaviour - and still manage to find yourself in a second term as a PM (hypothetically speaking).

Hypocrite much?

You know what disturbs me even more than the reality of what has happened to the north of me?

The fact that (aside from Bukele) not a leader of single western democracy has spoken up to condemn this action.

It does not bode well in my opinion. Sad

Because they are all fucking friends!  They are all "Young Global Leaders"; graduates of Klaus Schwab's World Economic Forum.  Champagne with billionaires as Boris Johnson put it.  We're just peons who need more government and more corporate influence over our lives.  This isn't new; WEF isn't the only 'elite' gathering either but membership is limited to 1000 companies and if you're not making over $1 billion a year, you're not invited unless you're a young, malleable socialist.  Fuck even Vlad Putin is an alumnus.

When JimboToronto asked where you got your hat,  I began working on a design for a TA style WO hat.  When sirazimuth prompted you to ask me, that was another step in the process but even if you had not directly asked me you would have received a hat.  It's the way of the WO.
As an aside, if Richy_T hadn't sidetracked me with that old song, I think I would have come up with a tile much more quickly.  That song is still stuck in my head.

Those old wartime songs are some of the best (though I am not sure if that one might predate it a bit). Anyone for a quick round of "Roll out the barrel"?

Oh I remember singing along to that one.  Also a lot of George Formby songs. Cheesy

And since you seem to be channeling our good buddy.. why does he not want to hang out with us peeps?

I don't have direct contact with Elwar; I just follow him (covertly) on certain social media.  He has posted as recently as Feb 11th and I shared the video that he shared on other social media (also covertly and without credit).  I don't actually "know" anyone wrt the known knowns.  There is always the possiblity that unknown knowns are unknowingly known to me and on very rare occasions I test that theory by shouting, "BobLawblaw!", "JayJuanGee!" or "cAPSLOCK!" at total stangers and I keep my eyes peeled for the slightest hint of recognition on that persons face.  I will know the look because I swear I can see it occasionally on my mom and dad's faces when I drop off groceries or shovel their walk.

In short, I can't understand why he doesn't want to hang out with us.

Nice one bro. I'm glad you asked our awesome resident hatter to make you one. I knew he would take care of you. He did a fantastic job as usual.
It's definitely an upgrade from that homemade one you were sporting.  (mind you, that's not saying a lot, lol)

GO BITCOIN

Thanks, couldn't be better than the man himself make me one so I asked him, thanks for inspiring me to ask him lol.

Nice hat for Im Thor by the way.

Thanks for the compliment.  It took a couple of days and a quite a few cups of coffee but I finally came out of my motherf***ing crocodile of a Heather Morgan funk.  Clearly, Jesus loves me the most. Seriously, so nice... so nice...

Apparently it was a bad week for people named Heather or Homer.

I just hope Elwar has finished building bitcoin Atlantis

Elwar is MIA.., again.. not the first time that he has pulled this kind of extended MIA.....

Elwar is still kickin'; fighting the good fight.  Vivit ut vivat.
He's even monitoring the Canadian trucker protest in Ottawa.

I know I owe someone a hat and I am working on it but my creativity is in the doldrums and all my designs feel like Heather Morgan rap videos.  I'll have to step up my game.

Side note: Is it a good idea to ask elaborate rhetorical questions in this forum?

another Side note: Cross my fingers, tuck in my thumbs, break a leg, don't toast with a glass of water, enter a room left foot first etc... I haven't yet managed to contract covid.  I don't think I'm all that special though
as only a little over 7% of the population of my province have tested positive.  I'll have to step up my game.

Fuck... covid got to my family.

Hope everyone will be fine.  Keep them hydrated and make them rest.

just broke into a sbc from my old jag and found striations on the first main bearing I pulled.

Shit.

 English translation anyone?   Grin

sbc = Small Block Chevy?

if so, they are a popular engine swap as you can build the snots out of them and there are more bolt on go fast parts than you can shake a stick at

main bearings support the crankshaft that the pistons connect to. crankshaft is what goes round and round and what the transmission and drivetrain hook to.

tldr; went to rebuild a non standard engine in the jag but there are damaged parts indicative of larger issues.

well maybe thats what it means

Thank you.  There was a lot of information stuffed into that little sentence!

merit I.O.U.

Ascending Triangle on BTC 4H Timeframe.

Aren't we suppose to touch 30K-31K before breaking out? or has that changed now?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg59146574#msg59146574

I hope no one was waiting for 30K-31K to buy in!

You know the old saying: "Close only counts in hand grenades, horseshoes and technical analysis."  Seriously, though it's a game of percentages.

Had to google that saying... I like it! Will add it to the arsenal and use it!

But I think the following proverb may be more suitable..

"throw enough mud at the wall, some of it will stick and hope your audience has a memory of a gold fish!..."

Good one!  I'm all out of merit so this cheesy grin will have to suffice:  Grin
1314  Other / Off-topic / Re: [WO/Hat-Gang Only - MODERATED] The fucking COVID vax thread (No hat? Fuck off!) on: February 05, 2022, 03:08:09 PM
So if the CDC is now admitting that natural immunity provided better protection than the vaccines alone, why are governments, corporations, and organizations still pushing vaccine mandates on people and sports figures who have already had Covid? Why are people losing their jobs who have already had Covid? 🤡🤡🤡🤡

BTW, have you checked out El Salvador’s death charts?
https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/excess-mortality-raw-death-count-single-series?country=~SLV
Apparently people have stopped dying in El Salvador in 2021. They must be immortal. Roll Eyes

Meh.  Reports cost money and they're a lagging indicator at best.  Obviously, that money is better spend on moar bitcoin!

I also stumbled upon something called "Star Trek, Lower decks" Anyone know what that is? Sounds like space porn to me.

Not porn. Just a cartoon/comedy loosely related to Star Trek.

Seems very loosely related from the few minutes of clip I just watched.

I'll stick with the Orville for a comedy version of Star Trek

Wait... the original Star Trek wasn't a comedy?!  Embarrassed

everyone in Canada thinks those truckers are complete idiots.  Plus a lot are out of fuel in Ottawa, freezing in their cabs.  Brought kids, but no food.  The border crossing is even more idiotic, considering they are mostly blocking their fellow truckers from getting home/working.  Even the trucker association called them out for being complete morons.  Opposition parties tried to get some steam by supporting them, then quickly backtracked after they realized how dumb this whole thing is.  Bitcoin ?  Bitcoin ?!?  99% of those people hate bitcoin and probably think its a lizard-alien-freemason conspiracy or some shit.

Thankfully, the good people of this board are intelligent enough to realize that you can't possibly speak on behalf of all Canadians.   I support the the fundamental right of every Canadian to protest and that includes the truckers involved in the "Freedom Convoy".  Why don't you just speak on your own behalf rather than trying to drag all Canadians down with you?  Even if your anecdotes are true (and I seriously doubt it), saying that 99.9% of them hate bitcoin is just plain irrelevant and, while I wont profess to speak on behalf of all Canadians on this matter, idiotic.

Ottawa Police Service Chief Peter Sloly:

“I'll repeat again the scale of these operations are significant. The number of people is not out of the ordinary for large demonstrations in big cities, particularly the nation's capital, but the extra presence of the large number of vehicles and heavy vehicles, the level of funding and overall support and organization in and around the core demonstrations, is significant and unprecedented1.”

1 You forgot to tell us how the Russians are providing their funding.

I just googled it. A single patty big mac exists. They just named it the mac jr. instead of the small mac. Disappointed by this new information, I am off to bed. GN WO

Ah, but a Small Mac would be just like a Big Mac, just smaller.

I think "Small Mac" is a cute name but bad marketing.  I think you could call it just the "Mac".

Although I can't STAND what McD's tries to pass off for "food".  Almost any fast food is better.  Including BK (also nasty).  Actually, if you are ever in Texas, you might try "Whataburger" which I think is one of the better garbage food joints.

This professional pic looks a *little* nicer than the real thing... but this is basically it:

I quite like McDonald's if I'm being honest.
Over here they are releasing a Chicken Big Mac tomorrow I believe that will be on their menu for a few weeks.

I will try it.
Recently I tried the McPlant and I understand what they are trying to do. It's about ok I would say.

But sure, McDonald's is probably not the best of foods even within the fast food space. At least it's cheap though.
Sometimes I don't feel too good after eating McDonalds the evening before.

I've actually never liked Burger King. Over the years I noticed their hygiene just is never as good as McDonalds.
I think KFC can be even worse and probably the only ones I would call nasty. I guess because if you don't cook Chicken well it is more apparent than beef.

I think Five Guys has far, far better tasting burgers than almost all of the other outlets here if I'm being more objective.
An all the way without mushrooms for me.
But Five Guys' fries do suck I would say. I usually don't bother with them as a big burger all the way from them is more than enough for me. Something stupid like 800-900 calories I believe.

Oh yeah!  5 Guys all the way!  Prices are steep but I don't think you can get a better burger in 10 minutes.

http://bobbysburgerpalace.com/

Looks good bu I don't think I could get on the list to get in to a fancy place like that!

edit: Wow!  The prices are quite reasonable too.
1320  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 01, 2022, 09:38:01 PM
What's this place coming to?

It used to be filled with pix of fine seafood, filet mignon, fois gras, and fancy drinks. I'd come away hungry.

Now it's full of disgusting franchise burgers... enough to kill your appetite.

Let's get rid of this loser McD/ramen mentality and regain our composure as Bitcoin elite.

...but bitcoin is barely over $38k!  We're still poor.
