 I can't believe the media uses this type of language when reporting on Bulgarian immigrants.   I know a few Bulgarians and while they're not exactly quick to pick up the tab for drinks or dinner, I wouldn't call them blood-sucking parasites!  That's a little harsh.

 If the methane is burned off (hence flare gas), then it's purely an economic issue when it's used for bitcoin mining instead but many oil companies just vent the gas (since it's less dense than air) into the atmosphere rather than burn it and in that case, the unburned methane has somewhere over 20 times the effect of CO₂ as a greenhouse gas.  This is why they're going after cattle as well.  We're going to have to tap those cattle next for bitcoin mining.  Bitcoin miners will also try to make the case that using flare gas removes some reliance from other fossil fuels which have a higher carbon content and coal (pretty much all carbon).  I'm not sure I buy that logic because if the energy comes cheaply enough from flare gas, then older, less efficient bitcoin miners could be used where they would be too inefficient for use within the existing electrical distribution system.

 Trying to redeem all of your gift cards and Privilege Club points before Victoria’s Secret closes up shop temporarily forever because you know that Victoria's Secret lingerie will be a much better currency than the Ruble seems like a pretty good idea.  Anyway, I don't think too many ordinary American/Canadian/French/British etc.. citizens stopped doing anything while we caused similar (way more) sufferings in Iraq.  Remember how we were told by our democratically elected officials that UN Security Council Resolution 688 No Fly Zones were put in place to protect humanitarian operations in Iraq?  Remember how that turned out to be a lie and they were really just bombing the shit out of Iraq to pave the way for a ground invasion?  Oh yeah and the assertion that Iraq was still producing and stockpiling WMDs as the pretext for that ground assault?  That was a lie too.  How many innocents died from lack of food, water and needed medical supplies during that fiasco?  More importantly, how many of us Ameropeans stopped shopping during that entire period in protest?  We were similarly deceived over Libya.  It was always about regime change but that's not what we were lead to believe by our free presses.  If we're lucky, the truth comes out eventually in dribs and drabs.

  Somehow we like to think we're different than the Russian people though.  Maybe we think we're more savvy and less naïve; how could they allow themselves to be so easily deceived?  Those Russian bastards shouldn't be out "shopping"!  They should be protesting their government's actions!  Why don't they stop Putin?!

 In fairness to all the followers, if you pan out on the bitcoin chart, following has always worked out in Bitcoinlandia.  Wait for it.

 Hopefully they don't shut down the grid.  Those stations still need power to maintain cooling on the fuel for quite a few days - remember Fukushima; they lost the grid and all but one unit's back up diesel generators.  That turned ugly really fast.

 Calm down everyone.  Chernobyl blew up from within because nearly  e v e r y   s i n g l e  safety system was defeated manually by human hands in order to perform a poorly designed test and the fuel was encased in carbon (as a moderator).  It blew up due to a runaway fission process and and the extreme energy and heat created.  It continued to burn because... that's what carbon does.

 The reactors at Zaporizhzhia are pressurized light water reactors (meaning they use water as a moderator).  Also, each of the 6 reactors is encased in structure built from over 2 meters of steel reinforced concrete which can withstand a direct hit from a 747.  The safety systems are much more robust than those of Chernobyl. 

 It would be good if some stray bullets don't kill the guys trained to operate the reactor though.  Personally, I'm more worried about the safety of the good people of Ukraine from Putin's onslaught.

 It's so strange how controlled fission could save humanity from an early extinction but uncontrolled fission could be the cause of its even earlier demise.  I don't possess the influence or the power to have any nuclear weapons removed from anywhere.  The best I can do is to pray we choose wisely.

 Firstly, we've gotta make it to the end of the week then we'll see about bitcoin price.

Sad but true.

 We haven't been able to party for over two years.  Clubs have just reopened @25% of cap but you can't be in a group of more than 10 (unless from the same household) and you still have to war wear a mask when eating or drinking also, you cannot stand with a drink.  There is no dancing, no karaoke, no pool allowed and you must remain seated except for certain specific activities ie getting to your table, using the restroom or paying.  End of the world is nigh and we aren't allowed to party like it's 1999.
