Attractiveness is associated with the belief that economic success is dependent on individual effort, rather than external circumstances

Physical attractiveness is associated with many positive outcomes – greater happiness, higher wages, better jobs, and even higher cognitive outcomes. According to a recent study published in Economics and Human Biology, beauty is also associated with lower support for redistribution. Attractive individuals are more likely to attribute economic success to individual effort, as opposed to external circumstances.

Studies examining the association between looks and political preferences have found that attractive people are more supportive of right-wing parties. Researchers have interpreted this result by suggesting that by earning more money, attractive people become less favorable toward redistribution and more supportive of right-wing politics. In this work, Andrea Fazio adds to this finding by explicitly testing the relation between beauty and individual support for income redistribution...

What a load.  Everyone knows that economic success is dependent on bitcoin ownership.

Imagine thinking THIS is the problem when it comes to ClImAtE cHaNgE:

I honestly think governments in the west are actively trying to push citizens into believing the most ridiculous things they can come up with. But that might work until something snaps and it will be the end of their rule.

This is what "the science" says we should eat to fix climate change.

These crickets are ready to eat, so pop open the snack pot and enjoy! Or add to your cooking as a meat substitute (perfect for Mexican and Thai dishes)

It works out to ~US$54/lb for this meat "substitute".   I'll stick to pork rinds for my preferred (cheap) source of carry-around crunchy protein - it can also be locally farmed and fed pretty much anything!

~snipped for brevity

Good morning WO. I see we are desperately in need of a new poll.

Any realistic TA which says we will see 40k soon?

Only my gut feeling is saying so….
Does that count as TA?

last I checked.. without any pic, then no.

(pee pee pics no don't count)

>99% of WO hatters are not me, and not anything like me.

Why you gotta be like that?

Why you gotta rip that out of context?

Because I'm only concerned about your use of the term "hatters"

https://cointelegraph.com/news/paypal-enables-transfer-of-digital-currencies-to-external-wallets

PayPal enables transfer of digital currencies to external wallets
The move comes after nearly two years since PayPal enabled users to buy and sell crypto on its platform.

PayPal enables transfer of digital currencies to external wallets

After rolling out the ability to buy and sell crypto on its platform in October 2020, PayPal is finally allowing users the ability to natively transfer, send and receive digital assets between PayPal and other wallets and exchanges. As of Tuesday, the feature is available to select U.S. users, with the feature expanding to all eligible U.S. users in the coming weeks. The first batch of supported coins consists of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC).

In addition, customers who transfer their crypto onto PayPal can spend it via Checkout at millions of merchant terminals. The company has been granted a full Bitlicense by the New York Department of Financial Services for the conduct.

Users would simply need to log in to their accounts and enter the crypto section of the application to start transferring transfer coins. Users are generally required to complete a one-time ID verification before the procedure.

Crypto transfers to recipients outside of PayPal would incur a network fee based on their respective blockchains, but transfers between PayPal users will not incur such fees. To protect users' privacy, the firm generates a new recipient address for each transaction into one's PayPal account. PayPal will also not charge fees for incoming transfers,

The company is also working to integrate other forms of cryptocurrency services, such as central bank digital currencies, to boost its digital footprint. It is also exploring the possibility of launching its own stablecoin, dubbed "PayPal Coin." The discovery came after a developer found evidence of such a stablecoin within the source code of the company's iPhone app.

Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

I guess this is what those geniuses over at the Fed do with all their free time, when they are not busy destroying the global economy.  Roll Eyes

Totally.

However, compared to the first 4-5 years of BTC's existence, it's really mind blowing who is talking/writing about Bitcoin nowadays.

The funny thing about that is, the default graphs only go back to Jan 2021 so they can make their comparison between bitcoin and the US dollar.  Funny how the graph seems to coincide with their point until you zoom out a bit and then...

The graph only goes back to somewhere in 2015 for bitcoin but it seems as though you can afford nearly an infinite number of eggs now with your 2015 bitcoin whereas the volatility of eggs prices in US dollars is unbelievable going from a high of $2.96 to a low of $1.20  and back again in a rollercoaster-like fashion!  How is a homemaker supposed to budget groceries with that sort of volatility?!  Fuck you FRED for the disinformation (which for those of you who don't yet know is  purposeful misinformation).

A country of 1.4B+ bans bitcoin every a few years! What's another country of 300million going do...
When that starts to accumulate with more countries following then it becomes a problem. There is not anything we can do to stop these countries but it is not good news that these countries are banning btc unless you think that people will get sick of being suppressed and in retaliation they revolt by using btc
This illustration shows what happened to the country https://www.facebook.com/Phemex.official/videos/697310468231523/

Most of what they call "crypto" does actually belong in that garbage can imho.  No time to change it to "bitcoin" though.

I prefer Alien 👽 space invasion.

until it actually happens.

In other words.. I doubt they are going to be nice to us... if there were to be such a thing.

Nah, come on. Of course they'll be nice to us, just like we're nice to life forms we consider inferior. The lucky ones will get killed, and others will be locked up in zoos for their own protection, or "domesticated" to entertain the overlords, or become food.

This is why it behooves us to make this planet virtually uninhabitable and as quickly as possible.  I'll do my part by firing up the coal-fired furnace and smelting my obsolete Canadian pennies into novelty physical representations of bitcoins to impress friends and family.  I'll even use high-sulphur-content coal to acidify the watershed.  Wait, aliens bleed acid don't they... alright scratch that.

Lots of people live quiet lives of desperation (i heard that somewhere before?).

That's a bastardized version of what Henry David Thoreau wrote in "Walden".

A few years back I had planned to visit Walden pond where he sequestered himself for a couple of years on Emerson's property but I found out that the cabin he built for himself had been dismantled and while a replica had been built by local artisans, it wasn't in the original location... well, that and the fact that nobody else who was with me was interested in going half an hour out of our way to see it.  I was trying to simplify, simplify, simplify and instead I found myself at yet another fancy mall browsing overpriced stuff and dining at the Cheesecake factory.  Oh well, at least I found Bitcoin.

I may have mentioned this before but my favourite Thoreau quote is:

Live your life, do your work, then take your hat.  Wink

Top Gun Maverick is pretty superb.
Probably one of the best blockbuster sequels ever.

A recommended watch.

Top Gun what now? (kidding.  If I wasn't waiting for an arborist, I'd be catching the matinee today)  36 years though...

Reminds me of waiting for the second Star Wars; I forgot all about it.  Back then, 3 years was an eternity!

Mission Impossible is proving impossible as well - pushed into 2023.

Any of you guys know who Andrew Henderson is? nomad capitalist ?

don't sleep on this one though guys, I am being Socratic

I can imagine that nomadic lifestyle would be tough on a family.  The only monetary nomad I know of was McAfee and it didn't turn out well for him - he was always running.  Maybe his plan was 75 and out though.  Who knows?
