https://bitcoinmagazine.com/business/croatia-largest-retail-chain-konzum-now-accepts-bitcoin-payments

 ○ Croatia’s largest food retailer has enabled bitcoin payments in its online shop.

 ○ Konzum said it plans on deploying the payment option in its physical stores soon.

 ○ “We are proud to be leaders in another area that is rapidly developing and dictating the future,” Konzum board member Uroš Kalinić said.

Croatia’s largest food retailer has enabled bitcoin as a payment option in its online shop, the company said in a statement Wednesday. Konzum has become the first local retail chain to offer customers the choice, allowing them to purchase everyday consumer items with bitcoin.

“Cryptocurrency owners can buy and pay for groceries, hygiene, and household items and other products from the rich offer of our online store with more than 12,000 products,” Kozum said, according to a translated version of the statement.

Reuters reported that Konzum is part of the Balkan region’s biggest food producer and retailer, Fortenova Grupa. The report also noted that Konzum’s shops are popular among tourists visiting Croatia, who will now be able to purchase products online with cryptocurrency. The company said it plans to enable the new payment option in its physical stores soon.

“As the largest retail chain in Croatia, which in its almost 65-year history is a continuous leader in the domestic market in terms of business results and technological achievements, we are proud to be leaders in another area that is rapidly developing and dictating the future,” Konzum board member Uroš Kalinić said.

Konzum implemented the new payment avenue through a partnership with local fintech Electrocoin and their PayCek system, a bitcoin payment processor. The system provides a QR code for the customer to scan and pay using their bitcoin wallet of choice while fixing an exchange rate as the purchase begins to protect the consumer from volatility.

“We continue to invest in the development of innovations and technologies in order to remain the first choice for our customers and as a next-generation retail chain to provide a premium shopping experience,” Kalinić added.

edit: translated text from the Konzum website -

Payment in cryptocurrencies

In our webshop you can use nine different cryptocurrencies for payment - bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), bitcoin cash (BCH), EOS, DAI, ripple (XRP), stellar lumen (XLM), tether (USDT) and USDC.

The process of paying with cryptocurrencies is simple and similar to card payments.

When you have finished selecting the product, select the cryptocurrency payment option, after which the system will offer you a list of available cryptocurrencies.

After selecting the desired cryptocurrency, the amount in its equivalent will be displayed and a QR code and payment address will be generated. It is necessary to scan the QR code exclusively with a personal krypton wallet .

With the confirmation of the transaction, the payment will be made, and the confirmation of the transaction from the PayCek system will be sent to the email, and the invoice for the paid service or product will be sent by Konzum.

Due to the volatility of the cryptocurrency exchange rate, which can vary from minute to minute, the PayCek system guarantees the buyer a fixed exchange rate equivalent in time to initiate the transaction, sufficient for its successful execution at no additional charge .
1423  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: December 01, 2021, 04:01:10 PM
I haven't subscribed to the youtube channel for opsec reasons but I am keen to watch any and every episode that airs.  I doubt I'm alone in this.

The anticipation reminds me of waiting for Heinz ketchup to come out of the bottle.  Maybe useful for product placement ad revenue?

Jack is not censoring as much as Facebook and Google. That and because he is supporting Bitcoin are the reasons he had to go. No, he did not quit himself. He had to go because he is not playing along with the agenda in power. Just as they got rid of so many presidents in Afrika and as they got rid of Austrias president 2 months ago, just in time for Austrian insanity. I am sure the ex president was against lockdowns and vaxx mandates. So they published some dirt about him and he had to step back. They made Japans president who was against lockdowns in the beginning of the plandemic step down as well. They control everything. And Ghislaine Maxwells trial will lead to nothing. All the pedophile politicians, Sports, Music and Hollywood stars are safe and protected by the agenda. Maybe they throw some unimportant ones in the fire to make the masses think there is democracy.

Who is this "They" person(s)?

I have always wondering if there was one person who is pulling all the strings, sitting in his compound somewhere underground with just rows and rows of monitors watching his plans unfold, while patting his cat...

There are far more than one.

 They =

unelected bureaucrats (as numerous as cockroaches) who have been delegated power by those we elected but who never leave

 +

 https://bilderbergmeetings.org/
Invited millionaires, billionaires and various power brokers who nobody elected (or may have at one time been elected) to represent the rest of us

 +

 https://www.weforum.org/
comprised of paying members and invited guests in the form of business and political leaders (generally leaders we elected but did not give license to take marching orders from this group of narcissistic freaks), billionaires (again because they know best how to steal the commoners money for their time), celebrities (because us peons will do whatever they say) and journalists (because how are you going to do what they say if nobody incessantly beats you over the head with it?)

 Build Back Better

Now that you know, are you going to ignore it again?

Edit.  I didn't make it clear that in order to attend the World Economic Forum one must be invited

My internet will be cut tomorrow.
The phone company is from January first no longer using the copper wires (land line) and I have land line ADSL
internet.
I have ordered fiber but it may take 6 to 12 months before they can get their asses out here and dig a cable to my house, on the other hand I only had to pay 9900 SEK for it. My neighbors who got cable when it was first installed some years ago in the area had to pay 32000 sek.
So I will be mostly using my laptop and free wifi spots in town to go online. I will try to use my phone as a wifi hot spot, but I don't know how well that will work.
The phone company tried to install a solution using a antenna and the mobile phone masts, but they couldn't get a strong enough signal.
So, I'll be on here more sporadically for a while i think, depending on how well the phone wifi solution works.

 Don't you live on permafrost?

Edit:  Can't you make a deal with your neighbour to get some wifi temporarily?

On-Chain Analysis: Long-Term Holders Start Selling – Bitcoin Ready for Surge

https://beincrypto.com/on-chain-analysis-long-term-holders-start-selling-bitcoin-ready-for-surge/

 I like this part:

"The Long-Term Holder Net Position Change indicator measures the change in Bitcoin supply that remains in the hands of long-term holders (LTH). These are those addresses that hold BTC for at least 155 days (about 5 months)."

5 months makes a long-term holder???  I wonder what that makes most of us?

-50% is wild and if it continues it can be an indicator of a large price drop to come.

BTW this pattern does not match 2017-2018  so maybe things are different.

If it means we meander about in 2022  much like 2021 it works for me.

Of course we are just starting and it could be freak luck.

Seems as though China might still be messing with us.

source:  https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2021/11/26/multiple-mining-pools-are-facing-connectivity-issues/

"Major crypto mining pools including Binance Pool, F2pool, Poolin and ViaBTC are reporting connectivity problems, they said in their Telegram channels in the past 24 hours.

 • The issue is caused by domain name system (DNS) “pollution,” Binance Pool and Poolin said on their Chinese Telegram channels. F2pool also said the pool’s domain name is not being properly resolved.

 • The DNS is the internet service that converts domain names like coindesk.com into internet protocol (IP) addresses, which are strings of numbers. DNS poisoning can occur when a hacker redirects traffic from the domain name to an imposter website.

 • ViaBTC users are also reporting on Telegram that they are having difficulty accessing the pool. On its English Telegram channel, the pool acknowledged the issue but did not specifically mention DNS connectivity problems.

 • “The connectivity issues appear to be primarily affecting Chinese miners,” said Alejandro De La Torre, founder of ProofofWork.Energy consulting firm and former Poolin vice president. De La Torre thinks the Chinese government is likely interfering with the mining pools.

 • Binance Pool’s bitcoin hashrate is down 14% in the last 24 hours. F2pool has dropped almost 8% and ViaBTC has fallen by 7%, according to BIT Mining’s information platform.

 • A large part of the pools’ operations are located in China, which has vowed to eliminate crypto mining. While their hashrate does not come only from China, and they have said they plan to exit the country by year-end, the publication of material in Mandarin could be interpreted as courting its population.

 • Binance Pool, F2pool, and Poolin advised users to modify their DNS to solve the issue. Binance Pool said that a long term solution is to use a VPN to circumvent the country’s telecoms carrier."

Are there any good thanksgiving movies you guys can recommend?

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.  It's only half an hour.

N.B. Use a pop-up blocker such as ublock origin; a VPN is a good idea too.

Returning home after a period of travel, to find my central heating furnace has died. To summarize a very long (and doubtless boring) story, my furnace is of a very specific type and no local tradesmen are interested in either trying to repair it (which I think is unlikely, since it's 30 years old) or replace it.

So I'm on Day 5 of zero heating and it's 1C outside. Brrrrrr. I made a trip to collect some portable heaters which are currently being rotated around various rooms in the house, which is helping.  But there's no end in sight to this situation. I've fired off several late night emails to various suppliers and contractors in the hope that at least one of them will reply favourably by morning.

I keep checking the Bitcoin price to try to find some positivity in an otherwise cold and cheerless house. In that regard, today is looking a little more optimistic than recent days.

Thought I'd share my tale of woe here in search of some WO brotherly love. I need a (virtual) group hug  Undecided

That's bad news for sure.  This happened to us a while ago in the middle of winter but we also have a gas stove so we kept a couple burners going to warm up in the kitchen/living room, purchased a couple of electric blankets to help in the bedroom and thermal underwear and toques were a godsend.

edit:   Hey!  Don't you have a pile of old bitcoin miners lying around?

BTW, regarding inflation..around here all building stones (marble, porcelain, etc.) suddenly shoot up upwards in price (30% or more)..contractors are saying that this is due to the supply chain problems. Inflation is definitely outpaces gold rn, bitcoin is still able to hold on.

Winter is coming
Already too much darkness
Longing for the sun

Being a shift-worker, I was always looking for something to help me switch back and forth.  Light therapy works and while there's nothing like natural sunlight, bright white LEDs seemed to do the trick.  I find it strange though how something called a SAD lamp can make one happy.

 https://www.healthline.com/health/sad-lamp

There's also some research about light in the ears being beneficial and one company has come up with earbuds (sound capable!) to help with that.

 https://humancharger.com/global/

I wonder when they'll come up with something similar to aid in perineum sunning?  Would it also come with sound?

SAN SALVADOR, Nov 20 (Reuters) - El Salvador plans to build the world's first "Bitcoin City" which will be funded initially by bitcoin bonds, President Nayib Bukele said on Saturday, doubling down on the Central American country's bet on the crypto currency.

One already exists in Europe, at least that's what Slovenians say - I hope they won't sue Bukele for stealing their idea Smiley

SAN SALVADOR, Nov 20 (Reuters) - El Salvador plans to build the world's first "Bitcoin City" which will be funded initially by bitcoin bonds, President Nayib Bukele said on Saturday, doubling down on the Central American country's bet on the crypto currency.

Speaking at an event to mark the close of a week to promote bitcoin in El Salvador, Bukele said the city planned in the east of the country would get its energy supply from a volcano and would not levy any taxes except for value added tax (VAT).

"We'll start funding in 2022, the bonds will be available in 2022," Bukele told a cheering crowd at the event.

Speaking alongside Bukele, Samson Mow, chief strategy officer of blockchain technology provider Blockstream, said El Salvador would initially issue a $1 billion bond backed by bitcoin to begin raising funds for the planned city.

So the build back better passed today a 1.6 trillion passed in the house.

maybe the senate does it quickly

and biden and co will have passed over 2.5 trillion this fall.

the news 📰 actually showed the treas printing 100 💯 $ bills.

I will see if I can find the clip they showed.

100 dollar bills printing video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HV7vxfk__Uw

pretty sure they used the video above.

at the 15 second mark.

well the news was true for a change.

No, they lied again.  They can't stop lying as they no longer report news objectively.  The printing of physical money has actually tapered off since the last recession (read gov't induced country wide shutdown using covid as the excuse) most likely because nobody uses it any more except for drug dealing and other illicit activities while the honest majority have switched to Bitcoin.

There is a separate thread for this.

Plus there are Hitler sources on the web if you need to get a real feel about the nature of the Nazis.

There is, and I'm dropping into that hole again. Discussion closed for now.

So when MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moon was last night.  Full blood moon but it was obscured for hours due to the eclipse.  I'm sure if that weren't the case, we would have been over 70k by now.

Rugged again haha. What a shit coin. Are you suckers really going to hold through another crypto winter? The writing is on the wall, sell before it gets worse.

So far I'm up with every piece and every whole BTC I've ever bought. Think I will listen to my string of successes rather than to people without any evidence of success warning about potential failures.

Subtle Brag...

Well yeah.. the good ole days... so long as no mistakes were made.

these days some of us are either aiming for 0.21BTC, and some of us have admitted to reaching more than 0.63BTC...

Just consider how much more insight Billy nocoiner would be able to achieve merely from being in a kind of 0.21BTC to 0.63BTC accumulation range.. holey shit.. and for sure whole coiners are on another level these days.

Aren't you the most insightful of nocoiners that I never did meet?

He's not a nocoiner. He's got a few sats in the address in his profile, and he's hodling them.

Whoops.. I fixed that above post... I had meant to cite billy nocoiner, and I accidentally cited chartbuddy... freudian slip apparently.. but I fixed it above.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with citing ChartBuddy even in error.  The least-biased member of this thread; this guy is all about the facts which he presents on time, every time and in an easy-to-read format.
