2081  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: January 27, 2014, 03:10:58 PM
Yeah, Andreas' wallet just puts a bitcoin URI into the NFC tag.
This would probably be the easiest option. Bonus points if there's a cool animation lol
2082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: would you accept stolen bitcoins? on: January 27, 2014, 01:21:42 PM
I think this is an important question, but you can never tell who is a criminal and who ended up with stolen crimes from an exchange or shared wallet, so you can never tell who is malicious and who isnt.
2083  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Oculus Rift Coin (ORC): The First Physically Mined Cryptocurrency on: January 27, 2014, 03:24:49 AM
I suggest you that before investing, solve this problem.
Bots.
I can assure you, there is no way you can make an accurate human verification.
Problem here is that even if you slow down bots, you will slow down people and those with 10000 bots will be 10000 faster than any person.
Bots are a huge problem for your idea. Also the approach you are giving it. The oculus Rift is just a screen, has nothing to do with the system you want to create so stop focusing on it. (also, bots don't need screens)
I'll help you by debunking every single counter argument you have against bots. I have said it countless times in here so I get tired of it, but I'm a game dev and an entrepreneur. I know about this stuff and that's one of the reasons why I'm interested and I don't want you to lose a great deal of money before really evaluating the project.

I solved the problem pertaining to bots as I set here eating my Bees Brother's honey caramels: Let 'em run!

Still do everything possible to thwart the practice, but advertisers, the key source of revenue with this endeavor, would already know such may exist beforehand, as they already do with other enterprises incorporating ad-based funding, basing their purchases on that knowledge. I simply have such facts penned on the appropriate page directed toward potential advertisers on the site so that they won't be surprised later. Thus, the onus would be on me: To many bots, less ad revenue; Continue to thwart the practice, ad revenue remains constant or increases.

Again, thank you so kindly for your very valuable post.

TIL you're my brother.

TradeFortress, is that you??
This is exactly what I was thinking lol. Reeks so much of CL.
2086  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: January 26, 2014, 11:33:43 PM
I've got a suggestion, what if Mycelium could use NFC to send bitcoins to another phone? Like you press send, then tap NFC instead of QR and the others and then you type in an amount, then you put your phone up against the other person's which provides a receiving address, and your phone shows a bitcoin icon that you tap to send the coins (also enter PIN). A little easier when both people have phones than scanning qr codes, and takes advantage of newer technology. Thoughts?
We should look into that. I actually think that it would be a small change. I only have one NFC enabled device, but I think Andreas has access to two Smiley
My thinking is that the receiving device should broadcast a Bitcoin URI with optional amount when on the Receive page, and the sending device automatically populates address/amount if it receives the URI when on the Send page. This could be a start and from that we could investigate whether it is feasible / secure to automatically launch the app when close to an NFC device.
That would make sense, and as to the security part, I think any kind of threat would come from someone managing to broadcast a different bitcoin URI, but i'm not sure how they would manage to do that, because the N in NFC stands for near. I think it's open to critisism and thought right now. Also, i've noticed that when using the app, turning on autofocus doesn't automatically focus anything continuously. My app is always focused to the distance when the camera is opened, and it never changes, so I sometimes have to go back and hit qr code again. So scanning can be difficult sometimes.

With Bitcoin-Banker.Com you can send/recive bitcoins to any of your addresses instantly + you will earn a 0.5% daily profit for the stored coins
- the site is online from 2013-11-25
So where exactly do the coins you pay me come from? What's the risk to me?
2088  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING DO NOT USE BITCOIN-BANKER.COM on: January 26, 2014, 11:27:44 PM
You are the idiotic user. Haha.

Lets say i use "iloveyou"

Then John Doe comes and logs in with iloveyou...then he has my wallet...You don't get it, but I expect you not to.
Don't be stupid. This is how deterministic wallets work. Not that i'm defending this website, but in a wallet where the bitcoin keys are derived from the password, of course you're going to get the same ones.
2089  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoin-Banker.Com = Bitcoin hybrid cloud wallet on: January 26, 2014, 08:34:16 PM
So you're telling me that you just now announced your wallet, and already have 2137 members with over 567.677591538 bitcoins? Put your scam somewhere else. Can a mod move this to gambling?

I find it funny how everyone is modifying code made by a terrible scammer. Not that that makes you terrible, I commend you for your work.

I dont understand what you mean. We all have read the code. Even if the original was from a scammer, it works...
I'm not saying it doesn't work and it's a bad idea to use it, I just think it's funny most of us hate him yet we still use his code

2094  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Piper: The Raspberry Pi Paper Wallet Printer is now taking orders! on: January 26, 2014, 06:34:47 AM
I really think this is cool, but I think that it's just a bit too pricey for something I can do at home with my own printer. I don't really print paper wallets that often, but if I wanted to print a lot, I would use this but I only have a few that needed to be printed once for cold storage. I still think it's an incredible piece of hardware, but it's just too expensive dor how much I would use it. If you would use this regularly, I could totally understand but most of the people I try to get into bitcoins either don't care, don't understand or don't have the technical knowledge to use anything but their blockchain wallet.

2096  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Oculus Rift Coin (ORC): The First Physically Mined Cryptocurrency on: January 26, 2014, 05:52:06 AM
I'm curious as to how much it may cost to develop this, for I believe the funds could be raised via Kickstarter. $100K? $200K? $500K?
How much do the developer kits cost anyways?

To answer your question, about $300, but my question pertains to developing my idea and not OculusVR.
I understood, no idea really. I think if there was a 3D competetive bitcoin game with real bitcoins involved somehow, I would be all over it. There have been minecraft servers and leetcoin is still working, but a real bitcoin game would be so cool.

How are there no posts on this? This product just seems epic!

Not as epic as your new title:

His Most Eminent Highness Grand Caesar Imperator Goat
Tyrant of Crytpo-Island, land of the copasetic crypto.
VIP

I ended up buying two of the units and they are pretty epic Smiley
How is the paper? I would be all for this but thermal paper :/
2098  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB LEAD IN BULK on: January 26, 2014, 05:36:18 AM
Sad thing is I have about 2lbs of lead in a box somewhere in the basement.  It was an old doorstop.
I don't even know where I got the thing when I was a kid.

That is the most badass doorstop i've ever heard of. Did you live in a blacksmith's workshop? Lol

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=300538.0

although not the same.. it has some similarities (the first human mineable crypto currency)

Development of the client is complete - release is scheduled for next week sometime

Thanks for the link, bud, although my mining quarrying idea would actually use the player's hands to move slabs of rocks.

Sadly, ONLY 1,386,890 views on the following Minecraft via Oculus Rift video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rJD0giGN6Y. Looks like I'm going to have a rough road to climb to find enough people interested in this endeavor of mine. Perhaps, I should have gone with World of Goo and build bridges using balls of goo.

yes sounds awesome, i can imagine it
can't wait to get an oculus rift
Me too, I have money but I'm not willing to give up my coins just yet lol
